"Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants" è un film curato in ogni suo minimo dettaglio: le lingue parlate, i costumi, la musica e gli effetti speciali contribuiscono a rendere questo lungometraggio un piccolo capolavoro.

Adattamento cinematografico del primo libro della trilogia “Condor” di Jin Yong, se proprio vogliamo trovarne un difetto, è quello di condensare una grande quantità di concetti in sole due ore e mezzo.
Lo spettatore deve sempre mantenere alta la concentrazione durante i dialoghi, perché ogni informazione risulta essere necessaria e fondamentale ai fini della trama. In alcuni punti accorre in aiuto dello spettatore una voce fuori campo che spiega e riassume alcune vicende accadute in precedenza. Ci sarebbero stati talmente tanti contenuti da poterne fare un drama, quindi non sorprende minimamente il minutaggio dell’opera. Nonostante questo, e nonostante la durata, il film non risulta mai pesante, anzi, si lascia seguire con piacere, catturando lo spettatore grazie alla bellezza degli effetti speciali e alla fotografia.

Ho apprezzato il fatto che i Mongoli non sono rappresentati come il “popolo invasore cattivo”. Il protagonista è nato in Cina, ma cresciuto nelle praterie del popolo mongolo e non rinnega nessuna delle sue due origini. Ogni popolazione ha le sue ragioni, giuste o sbagliare che possano sembrare.

Straordinari tutti gli attori. Ho particolarmente apprezzato le due figure femminili, innamorate entrambe del protagonista e gelose al punto giusto. Nella recitazione, tuttavia, spicca su tutti l’attore protagonista, Xiao Zhan. Lui ha già dato prova di essere un attore eccezionale, eppure riesce ogni volta a stupire per la sua continua crescita: è riuscito a interpretare il personaggio di Guo Jing, che durante il film affronta una grande crescita caratteriale. All’inizio dell’opera vediamo un protagonista ingenuo e avventato, ma col passare delle vicende diventa sempre più maturo e sicuro. L’espressività di Xiao Zhan e il suo sguardo hanno fatto il resto: Guo Jing riesce in ogni fotogramma a trasmettere il profondo senso di giustizia che anima il suo personaggio.

L’ultima partita di go era un film che attendevo da tempo, soprattutto per la presenza nel cast di Lee Byung-hun, uno dei miei attori preferiti. Il mio entusiasmo, però, ha dovuto fare i conti con un rinvio a data da destinarsi dovuto allo scandalo che ha coinvolto Yoo Ah-in, altro attore protagonista accusato di uso di sostanze stupefacenti: la sua immagine non viene mai usata nelle visual promozionali del film e persino il trailer è stato montato in modo da non mostrare mai il volto del suo personaggio.

Va fatta subito una piccola premessa: il film, pur ruotando attorno a un gioco così complesso e tradizionale come il go, è perfettamente fruibile anche da chi non ne conosce le regole, anzi, alla fine della visione ci si ritrova affascinati e incuriositi, tanto da avere il desiderio di saperne di più su questo gioco e sulle sue mosse.

L’ultima partita di go non è solo la storia della sfida fra due rivali, ma il racconto del profondo legame che lega i due protagonisti.
Ambientato tra gli anni ‘80 e ‘90, la storia racconta di Jo Hun-hyun, campione di go, che assistendo a una partita, scopre un piccolo talento, Lee Chang-ho: lui gioca a go solo da pochi mesi e nessuno gli ha mai insegnato le basi, ma in compenso ha un grande intuito e tanta ambizione. Hun-hyun decide di prenderlo sotto la sua ala protettrice e insegnargli tutto quello che sa. Per fare ciò Chang-ho si trasferisce a casa del maestro dove cresce sotto le cure di Hun-hyun e sua moglie.
Si percepisce fin da subito che il loro non sarà una semplice relazione tra maestro e allievo, bensì un legame più profondo che ricorda spesso quello tra un padre e un figlio.

La dimensione psicologica della storia è forse il suo elemento più interessante: conoscere l’affetto che lega i due protagonisti che sono destinati, tuttavia, a sfidarsi nel gioco -che comunque ha donato loro l’opportunità di incontrarsi- aggiunge una tensione emotiva che va oltre la competizione.
Il fatto che il film sia ispirato a una storia vera, infine, amplifica ulteriormente l’impatto emotivo.

Gli attori sono straordinari. Primo su tutti, proprio come mi aspettavo, Lee Byung-hun, che ci offre una performance intensa e piena di sfumature.
Sia lui che Yoo Ah-in, che interpreta Lee Chang-ho, riescono a trasmettere le emozioni provate dai protagonisti solo attraverso uno sguardo o un piccolo gesto, anche nelle scene di rigoroso silenzio. È così che, grazie alla bravura di questi due attori, si percepisce l’affetto e il rispetto che i loro personaggi provano l’uno per l’altro, la preoccupazione di vedere l’altro sconfitto, ma anche la voglia di scontrarsi nuovamente per vedere chi sarà il migliore nella prossima sfida.
Ma non sono solo loro due che mi hanno colpito per la loro bravura, infatti, sono rimasta affascinata anche dal giovane Kim Kang-hoon che veste i panni di Lee Chang-ho bambino: un piccolo talento in continua crescita che riesce ogni volta a sorprendere per le sue interpretazioni. Ha iniziato recitando il ruolo del bambino dei protagonisti in alcuni drama e di anno in anno si è ritagliato parti sempre più importanti.

Questo film si può vedere sulla piattaforma Netflix, sia con i sottotitoli in italiano, sia con il doppiaggio italiano, il quale ho trovato molto buono. In particolare è stato un piacere ritrovare Francesco De Francesco nel ruolo di doppiatore del personaggio di Lee Byung-hun, come già accaduto con il Front Man nel drama Squid Game.

L’ultima partita di go, in definitiva, è un film intenso che racconta di una partita che non si gioca solo sulla scacchiera contro un avversario, ma nella vita contro i propri limiti.

Definire Heesu in Class 2 un semplice Boys Love sarebbe estremamente riduttivo.
Questo drama, delicato e intenso al tempo stesso, è molto più di una storia d’amore: racconta, infatti, la complessità dell’adolescenza e ciò che significa crescere.

La serie tratta la vita di quattro studenti alle prese con le proprie insicurezze e i propri sentimenti che faticano a trovare le parole giuste per uscire fuori.
Al centro della storia troviamo Hee-su, un ragazzo che vive con tre sorelle eccentriche e che, ormai da un po’ di tempo, è innamorato del suo migliore amico, Chan-young, a cui non si è mai dichiarato per paura di perdere la sua amicizia.
Il loro rapporto entra comunque in crisi, anche senza la dichiarazione di Hee-su; fanno il suo ingresso in scena, infatti, la misteriosa e apparentemente imperturbabile Ji-yu e Seung-won, un ragazzo che sembra, fin da subito, avere un interesse per il protagonista.
L’arrivo di questi due personaggi innesca una serie di cambiamenti nei rapporti e nei cuori dei protagonisti.

Le vite di questi quattro adolescenti si intrecceranno fra loro in una vera e propria giostra di emozioni a cui anche lo spettatore è invitato a partecipare.

Uno degli aspetti più riusciti della serie è proprio la sua capacità di evocare ricordi nostalgici: il primo batticuore, le farfalle nello stomaco, la tensione di uno sfiorarsi di mani che vale più di mille baci. Emozioni semplici, ma potentissime, che la regia e gli attori sono riusciti a rendere tangibili senza eccessi o forzature.

Spicca fra tutti Ahn Ji-ho che, interpretando il protagonista Hee-su, dimostra ancora una volta la sua bravura.
Dopo averlo ammirato giocare a basket grazie al suo vivace ruolo nel film Rebound (2023), e dopo averlo visto ballare nei panni del suo complicato personaggio in BEGINS ≠ YOUTH (2024), qui Ahn Ji-ho dimostra ancora una volta la sua versatilità, dando vita a un protagonista tenero e impacciato, ma anche autentico: Hee-su risulta così, grazie ai suoi pregi e ai suoi difetti, alla sua grande generosità d’animo, ma anche ai suoi mille dubbi, un ragazzo estremamente realistico.
La passione per l’astronomia non è solo un lato del suo carattere che lo spettatore scopre puntata dopo puntata, ma un vero e proprio filo conduttore: i cambiamenti che avvengono nel rapporto fra i protagonisti e nei loro sentimenti, così come i titoli degli episodi stessi, sono associati a un aspetto dell’astronomia; amplificano così, grazie al paragone con fenomeni naturali, quello che succede nel cuore degli adolescenti nel pieno subbuglio delle loro emozioni.

Heesu in Class 2 è composto da 10 episodi di circa un’ora, disponibili con sottotitoli in italiano su Viki.
Un piccolo appunto, però, è doveroso: io, che ho apprezzato tantissimo il drama, non ho letto l’omonimo webtoon da cui è tratto, anche se ho tutta l’intenzione di farlo.
È giusto segnalare che la maggioranza di coloro che hanno letto prima il manhwa e poi guardato il live-action hanno espresso delusione per alcune scelte attuate nella trasposizione drama: molte parti della trama sono state tagliate, la storia d’amore è stata semplificata e alla coppia secondaria è stato concesso molto più spazio rispetto all’originale.

Eppure, da spettatrice che si è avvicinata alla storia solo tramite il live-action, ho trovato apprezzabile la scelta di dare risalto non tanto all’aspetto romantico in senso stretto, quanto al vortice emotivo dell’età adolescenziale, rappresentata sia dalla coppia principale, sia da quella secondaria.
La mancanza di contatto fisico, inoltre, non l’ho percepita come un difetto, ma come una scelta narrativa coerente: i sentimenti, dopotutto, si possono trasmettere anche grazie ad uno sguardo, un silenzio, o un gesto appena accennato.
In definitiva, Heesu in Class 2 è un piccolo gioiello che parla di amore, ma anche di amicizia e di crescita.

tbh I’d have had it differently, but the ending scene was good too, kinda makes it sad that wasn’t done earlier and instead we got a really long arc of hyunghood interfering

For me, I’d have kidnapped woojin, made him fight every day and have geonu come save him, but plot twist , they have to fight each other

So cop guy died right? And they lied that he’s in a coma to geonu? Cuz like I said, all ahjussis looked the same

Choi siwon was hilarious, I wish the whole last ep was the actual drama and the aftermath was the focus


It’s like my favorite author once said, if you make a story, you better expect trauma
And this drama only got a second season for the trauma

Pretty show, but severely lacks depth

This is the first time, or one of very few times, I've ever wanted to seek out "haters" leaving bad reviews on a show so I can feel justified in my dissapointment with this series.

7 eps in, I thought the show was complete ass. Nothing was grabbing my attention and l wasn't really buying Arthur in his role at all, he wasn't selling the general character. Also he had absolutely zero chemistry with Dilraba, like he just felt too young/boyish for her. It's probably less of an issue with Arthur and more the dynamic between Duan Xu and Si Mu as determined by the writer themselves. I just don't think the boyish/innocent/puppy ML personality type works well with that of an all-powerful/detached/400+ years life experienced FL.

Also, there's this thing that Arthur does with his smile...idk, it has always bothered me in every drama I've seen of his where he basically has this fake/awkward looking smile or smirk. And at this point I have to believe its an acting issue, because it's prevalent in every single role I've seen him play.

I hung in there until Ep 17 and the show still was not doing shit for me. The plot is seriously non-existent. It doesn't feel like the characters even care about their roles/jobs. FL is so powerful but seems incompetent or just too bored about the fact she's a freaking Sovereign of all spirits and the fate of the world rests on her shoulders, but she doesn't move like she's got shit to do, so the drama just comes across as unserious, like the plot is not really serving a purpose for actual story telling and is just background for the romance to progress.
Anyway, dropped at 17 eps. Not feeling any chemistry or interest to keep going.

Amazingly Terrible

At first this was like a soapy train wreck that I saw as an ad on social media. I tried to find it online but could only find the $20/or pay per episode version on some one-off streaming site. I ended up finding a decent uploaded version on DMotion, and I'm glad I didnt pay $20. For me, these silly soapy romances are the same as watching things like Snakes on a Plane or The Meg; so bad they're entertaining. I dont watch them all the time, but the levity is nice once in awhile!

The verticle format was really well done and I did really love song during the FL's concert. But very over the top soapy, silly drama, and I've been watching some heavier stuff lately, so I was in the perfect mood for this kind of silly today.

A beautiful story

I watched Goblin 10 years after it first aired, and I have to say, I loved it. It won't share the 10/10 spot with Crash Landing on You, due to a few details I'm not completely happy with, but all in all it was a well-written, beautiful story.

Let me start by saying, I absolutely get why some viewers ditched the drama or are still vocal about the age gap. It isn't something we should accept as a society in real life. But let's keep in mind that it's a drama, it's fiction, and it's fantasy fiction at that. As soon as I accepted that, I finished it and enjoyed it.

In my opinion, my review is too late for writing about the story itself, so I'll just stick to the aspects that stood out to me.

1. They stretched the history of Kim Shin becoming the Goblin a bit too long and kept coming back to it too often, in my opinion. I understand they wanted the viewer to really understand where the Goblin came from, but it wasn't that complicated a history, like some of the Joseon-era, heavily political dramas out there. To me, they dedicated too much time to this, whereas they could've invested that time to flesh out other parts of the story some more.

2. I found Eun Tak to be quite irritating, but I also expected it, her being 19 and all. If I look back on my life, I also wasn't that bright with my decisions at that age. Nineteen is truly a limbo between adulthood and still being a teenager. Because of this, I understood her overly childish behaviour to be rooted in past trauma and her need for confirmation on multiple levels. Eun Tak was taking care of herself for 10 years already. Her age might have been small, but her experiences weren't. And her childish behaviour must have stemmed from feeling safe enough with Goblin to let loose a little. And childish or not, she knew how to communicate her feelings and wasn't stupidly impulsive.

3. Goblin wasn't a toxic man. Some dramas have these male leads who are bordering on abusive. Goblin wasn't that. He at least did his best to push Eun Tak away, albeit in an awkward way. Imagine living all these years, seeing everyone you came to love or appreciate die around you. Of course you'll become aloof, maybe even cold, simply to protect your own heart. Some would argue he could've been less mean to Eun Tak. But he understood his fate, and all of a sudden this girl proclaims to be his bride.

Her being part of his life meant he could finally retreat into nothingness. And then he starts to have feelings he wasn't expecting to have. He wasn't expecting to like her or want to protect her. So the struggle between wanting to leave and wanting to stay starts. He was pushing against her and against himself at the same time.

Furthermore, he also understood he's immortal and she's not. How would that even work? It's not crazy he tried to keep her at a distance. And even so, he at some point in his 900 years on earth was human too, so he experiences human emotions. Of course he doesn't know what to do with his feelings for "some little girl". Loving her unconditionally meant dying and leaving her behind. I think lots of commenters failed to see that struggle, because they stayed hung up on the age gap.

4. People were mostly raving about the bromance in this drama. Yes, it was quite endearing, but it wasn't my main reason for liking and sticking to the drama. The story itself was unique and interesting. I loved how every character had his or her own story. What I liked less was that they didn't flesh out the stories enough. The 16 episodes could've been distributed better. Also, I hated that they waited until around the 14th episode to introduce the main villain. Of course we saw him at work earlier on, but that final reveal felt very rushed. I really loved the relationship between Grim Reaper and Sunny and was sad to see they didn't get to be "more" the first time around.

5. I feel I have to properly address the age gap. First off, my 13-year-old isn't allowed to watch this one just yet. Because an age gap of 20 years isn't remotely normal and I'm absolutely not condoning it. I cringed more than a few times, especially because Eun Tak was written to have feelings for Goblin, but still was calling him Ahjussi and acting like a 16-year-old. The uniform wasn't helping either. As most have pointed out, they should've let the story start with her being in college. Maybe then we wouldn't all feel the ick. I'm glad they didn't "consummate" the relationship until she was an "adult". But even so, when you turn a legal age, you're not miraculously an adult. The actress did such a great job that the romantic parts were an uneasy watch. I wish they had her act more mature at times, it would've been less uncomfortable.

All in all, to me the story itself was quite beautiful, because it didn't feel like a fluffy romantic drama as most are. It also kept the same vibe throughout, and the consistency of the tone made me eventually like it very much. There was never a promise of a happy ending, and even though there was some gore and a hint of romance, it wasn't the main focus. At least not for me.

I think the writers tried to challenge mainstream dramas with this tale of an immortal. It made way for other dramas to follow suit. And even though they also challenged morally correct romance with this one, I think they pulled off a well-written, interesting watch. I gave it a 9.5, simply because I couldn't get behind the age gap.

Title: Wo Yang De Xiao Lang Jun Jing Shi Dong Gong Tai Zi (2025), aka: "The Little Man I Raise Turns Out to Be the Crown Prince", is a fantastic romance miniseries set in historical times with ML: Shen Haonan a(s Crown Prince Xu Xiao Che) and FL: Dai Qixuan (as Shen Zhi Wei) in the leading couple's role. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had great chemistry. Both male and female lead are people with emotional depth, persistency, and share a beautiful protective and steadfast love. Overall, this drama is very entertaining, enjoy it!

Les étoiles se sont alignées…

La narration et l'ambiance (un mélange de comédie et d'émotions) ont permis de rendre ce drama entraînant avec ce qu'il faut pour revenir chaque semaine. Et cela sans trop traîner dans des scènes douloureusement lentes.

Arthit est tout ce qu'on attend du gars populaire et désinvolte de la bande. Pourtant, derrière son allure je-m'en-foutiste se cache une personne en proie à des émotions profondes. L'acteur dépeint un beau personnage avec des émotions mesurées. Daotok ressemble davantage au discret de la bande. Celui qui parle peu, mais vers qui on se tourne pour parler, justement. Si Oat fait du bon travail, personnellement, il m'a manqué plus de nuances sur les expressions de visage.

L'alchimie fonctionne, donnant une relation à la fois hilarante et touchante. L'histoire suit son cours avec de belles nuances surnaturelles, sans excès, et des sentiments qui s'installent avec douceur et sincérité.

En bref, The Sun from Another Star fait se rencontrer deux étoiles opposées, qui s'attirent, chacune trouvant sa place dans le ciel de l'autre.

Worth a watch

Despite other people's bad reviews, I liked this drama. Admittedly, it's not perfect and you'd have to overlook some of the unrealistic scenarios like:
1) Surviving a jump off a cliff and not suffering a miscarriage at that! They didn't show how she survived the fall and how she was rescued at all.
2) Qimin being alive after being stabbed to death which they also conveniently didn't show how and who treated his wounds and took care of him plus he was being sold as a slave when his Royal Surveillance guys could've rescued him from there in the 1st place and no need for Qingkou to rescue him

I liked the fast pacing and how the villains were caught early on and not being dragged out for long like a tiring endless battle in some dramas. For me, Weilong and Angela looked good together despite their 10-year age gap which doesn't show at all! I like strong female leads and Quiluo is definitely it. She's levelheaded and realistic, but she did succumb to a moment of weakness which resulted in her getting pregnant. I like how the characters weren't one-dimensional; they weren't all good and yet weren't all bad either (except for the Chancellor 😅). The most annoying character was the spoiled brat Princess Qingkou. I swear, most dramas have this kind of character! Lastly, Tiger Hu's song was so good it made me have last-song syndrome.

Continued watching this solely for jinyoung’s acting

Being a melodrama freak I couldn’t even completely watch this drama. Just because it is a melodrama doesn’t mean the story and the characters should not have any real life development. The story just spiralled around one theme the whole time and the ending was ridiculous. Jinyoung’s acting as usual carried the drama other than that there is nothing notable to watch here. The story has no progression. The characters also did not have any character development. The drama being slow paced and melo is not even the problem here, the script is a bunch of bull. I only completed this because of jinyoung and because i wanted to get it done with, just skipped the whole drama after the 4th episode. I would suggest you to watch it if you are a avid fan of jinyoung otherwise just skip it.

A special which was not special at all...

Oh, MDL woke up and put this page on... But when you have already seen all the episodes, this episode does nothing except killing Ken off... Of course he must be killed off, because the thai police is so incompetent they can't catch him... And they are good in delivering cheesy lines. And having a ten minute discussion if the toilets should be painted green or not. Of course there must be a NC scene in said toilets, because a special without fanservice is not a special.

The only thing I can say is, watching this is a waste of time, it feels not special, it does nothing special, it's just watchable and boring and that's it. In this case I have not more to say because I already forgot everything else besides what I have already mentioned :)))
