Good Show; Terrible Music
Okay, firstly, the acting is absolutely great. SeaKeen and their chemistry is amazing throughout the show! incredibly cutesy and fun to watch. Keen's acting stood out a lot to me. He's a great actor. His expressions are always on point, and i seldom see him over-act. SurfJava also do a good job. The acting is good. Their chemistry is nice as well.Story wise, I personally really liked the premise. But, i feel that the ending was quite lackluster and lowkey, too simple. It felt a little rushed as well (only plot wise, not romance wise). Either they should've made the ending different, or given more episodes, maybe like 16? idk. It just didn't feel right towards the last two episodes to me. Also, so much could have been done with this plot, cause it has a lot of potential.
SurfJava's characters and their relationship was lowkey a no-go for me. I liked them both and the relationship until Java's character literally cheats on Surf's multiple times. Sure, Surf's character might've forgiven him later on, but as an audience, it didn't feel justified. Their story was clearly very rushed and I wish they had gotten a better plot, because I have seen SurfJava in other shows, and their chemistry and acting is great. Wasted potential in my opinion.
JJ did great. Please someone give him a partner too sometimes! Poor twins are always stuck being the side character who is comic relief!
One thing I NEED to complain about, is the damn music! It's TERRIBLE. Better yet, Terrifying!!! Why is the score so bad?? The music killed the scene and mood multiple times throughout the show. Editing could have genuinely been much better.
Overall, good watch. If i were to rewatch anything, it would be JayJinn and their cute, sweet relationship. Looking forward to seeing SeaKeen and SurfJava in other stuff though!

A Strange Mirror of Modern Anxiety
No Other Choice is definitely an interesting watch. Its pacing and the way events unfold won’t appeal to everyone ~ it is, after all, very much an auteur film. But if you find yourself invested in the characters and open to what the story is trying to say, you’ll discover a compelling narrative carried by strong, memorable performances. The film walks a fine line between the absurd and the relatable. Beneath its unusual tone lies a reality that feels increasingly familiar: in a time when job security is fragile, especially with the rise of new technologies and the shift toward automated labor, it’s easy to connect with the characters’ struggles, even if you wouldn’t make the same choices yourself.
What stands out is how the characters, while often colorful and eccentric, are still grounded in a sense of realism. This balance keeps the film engaging throughout, as you’re constantly wondering what unexpected turn might come next ~ and whether the protagonists will find a way through it all.
If you’re drawn to unconventional auteur films and don’t mind an offbeat rhythm, this one is well worth a try. It may not aim to be a masterpiece, but it doesn’t need to be ~ it has enough to say, and enough to show, to both entertain and leave you reflecting on where we’re headed as a society.

Watch with icecream and try to keep your wrath from melting the screen.
The story revolves around Hao Yu the female protagonist who has the IQ of a kindergartner and emotional intelligence of a toddler. She wants revenge on Ji Zhi Jie the male lead, an underworld heir morally uncorrupted and born with the idea that Love Can Set It All Right. The morbid setting the writer wanted to portray never really hit the sweet spot. The gang was colorful and well dressed. A refreshing departure from an all black ensemble often noted in such stories. I must ask the writer what exactly went through his or her mind while penning this. The FL is cringe, annoyingly hell bent on revenge and the best part is not even good at it. A patient suffering from severe glaucoma could see through her paper thin act of love towards the man. Why was there not a single reasonable bone in Zhi Jie is beyond me. Was he too busy getting dolled up, upgrading his wardrobe or did he just forget his prescription glasses, I just couldn't decide. How can you love and then continue to love someone so horribly wrong for you.
Coming to the reason of watching this show, of course it is Fan Zhi Xin. The man can act and acts so well that it seems all too real to me. The pain, the frustration, the anger and the angst. Halfway through I wanted to slap the woman silly myself and throw her in a dumpster. I just can't with stupid females who can't grasp situations and act as if the world owes them something. If a man loved me half as much as the dude loves her, I'd be loyal to the grave.
Anyways back to the drama. I'm taking innumerable breaks to watch this, rest assured I will finish it because Zhixin worked his ass off to make my heart feel for him. I owe the man this much. Will edit his once I finish this train wreck of a drama.

You'll be surprised at how much you can cry
This drama really said “Here’s a girl with nothing… now watch her suffer, survive, and still not get a peaceful ending.”And I stayed there happily like a clown.
Duan Wu starts as a literal pearl-diving slave risking her life underwater every day just to stay alive and somehow the emotional drowning above water is even worse. Because the moment she escapes?
Congrats 🎉 now you get trauma, betrayal and guess what revenge plots and obviously a man who looks like he’ll save you but actually comes with emotional side effects. She enters this glittering jewelry world thinking “maybe life gets better now”
and the drama goes surprise.
The romance??? Oh you mean: “I don’t trust you.”
“I might destroy you.”
“But also if anything happens to you I will lose my mind.”
He’s out here training her like survival is love, she’s out here loving like survival is optional. And I’m here watching like... who allowed this dynamic???
Also can we talk about how this show is OBSESSED with taking something beautiful and attaching pain to it??
Pearls equals suffering
Love equals suffering
Success equals still suffering but in better clothes
She literally builds herself up from nothing, fights her way into the jewelry world, becomes powerful, independent, unstoppable and STILL doesn’t get a clean, happy ending.
Like excuse me???
You made her suffer, grow, heal, AND yearn and then said “that’s enough happiness for you.”
The ending???
Bittersweet in the way that feels personal.
The kind where you just sit there like…
“so this is life huh.”
And the worst part? You understand it. You accept it.
Because this was never a fairytale.
This was a story about choosing yourself even when love doesn’t stay.
This drama isn’t soft. It cuts, then hands you something beautiful and says “keep it.”

Pure Entertainment Done Right
This show honestly had a bit of everything, and I feel like it delivered exactly what the trailer promised. It’s one of those dramas that mixes comedy, politics, romance, and chaos all together, and somehow it works really well. For me, the biggest strength of the show is how entertaining it is from start to finish.First of all, the pacing is fast. From the very first episode, things just keep moving. There’s always something happening and the story never really slows down. In 32 episodes, I honestly didn’t feel a single dull moment. Everything moves quickly but in a way that still makes sense. Some people who prefer slower storytelling might find it a bit rushed, but personally I loved it. The drama keeps you constantly engaged.
Another thing I loved was how the comedy lasted throughout the entire show. Even during serious or tense scenes, they would sprinkle in small comedic moments that actually worked instead of feeling forced. It lightened the mood without ruining the tension. The balance between comedy, political intrigue, and romance felt just right for the type of show this is.
For the first half of the drama, Cheng Lei’s performance really stood out to me. He perfectly portrayed a man who has been stuck in that world for ten years and is simply exhausted with life. The hopelessness, the frustration, the quiet desperation — he conveyed all of it so well, especially through his eyes. He’s honestly such an amazing eye actor.
What I also really loved about the main couple was their dynamic early on. They weren’t dating for most of the show, but they were already working together and supporting each other from the start. It wasn’t enemies-to-lovers or filled with constant hostility. Yes, he lied to her, but overall their relationship felt like two people becoming companions first. They protected each other, helped each other, and even had small moments of physical closeness like holding hands or hugging before they were even officially romantic. I found that really refreshing.
And I have to mention how he kept feeding her- those scenes were honestly so cute.
Now let’s talk about Cheng Lei. I genuinely think this might be the best role I’ve seen him play so far. The character itself is very complex, shifting between madness, humor, obsession, vulnerability, and genuine affection. Cheng Lei managed to portray all those layers convincingly. Sometimes he felt like a tyrant, sometimes a hopeless man, sometimes surprisingly funny, and sometimes deeply loving. It never felt fake. His acting felt very natural.
Also… his emperor styling? Absolutely perfect. The costumes, the hair, everything suited him so well. Even when his hair was supposed to look messy or unkempt, he still looked incredible. He really carried the aura of an emperor, and I honestly hope we see him in another emperor role someday because it fits him so well.
While Cheng Lei is one of my favorite actors, I have to say Wang Churan completely stole the show for me. She was stunning in this drama. Every time she appeared on screen she felt like a breath of fresh air. Her character was bright, kind, and strong at the same time, and she brought such a light energy to the story.
Her kindness was something I especially loved. Even though she knows many of the characters are technically “2D characters,” she still wants to protect them and care about them. That aspect of her personality made her really lovable.
And whoever was responsible for her styling deserves a raise. Her wardrobe, hair, makeup — everything was flawless. Some of the best costume styling I’ve ever seen in a historical C-drama. She looked absolutely gorgeous in every scene.
Together, Cheng Lei and Wang Churan had great chemistry. They looked like they belonged in the same world — like a true emperor and empress pairing. I also appreciated that their relationship didn’t rely on long misunderstandings. When issues came up, they were resolved quickly. Even though the drama doesn’t focus heavily on romance itself, the story still revolves around their relationship in a very natural way.
Some of my favorite scenes were honestly the simple ones — like them eating hot pot together or just casually interacting. Those moments made the relationship feel very warm and genuine.
Another surprising highlight for me was the scholars’ storyline. I ended up really enjoying their characters and their arc. At first they stood against the emperor, but later they also fought alongside him. That development felt well written and added an interesting layer to the political side of the story.
Speaking of politics, the drama handled it pretty well. There was enough court intrigue and power struggle to keep things interesting, but it never became overly complicated or draggy. For viewers who enjoy historical dramas but don’t want something extremely heavy on politics, this show strikes a really good balance.
The OST was also great. The songs matched the tone of the scenes perfectly and helped elevate the emotional moments.
Overall, I would describe this drama as pure entertainment. It’s not necessarily the kind of show that emotionally destroys you or leaves you unable to move on afterward. Instead, it’s just incredibly fun to watch. It’s engaging, fast-paced, visually beautiful, and full of enjoyable characters.
As for the ending — considering the censorship system, I actually think it’s probably the best ending we could realistically get. Of course I would have loved to see more of them in the modern world, but at least it didn’t feel unfair or tragic.
In the end, How Dare You is simply a really entertaining drama that delivers exactly what it promises: a fun mix of comedy, romance, politics, and chaos.

One of the best enemies to lovers!!
There’s a certain kind of love that doesn’t arrive loudly. It lingers in pauses, in glances, in everything left unsaid. Love in the Clouds is exactly that kind of story. This drama doesn’t rush love rather it lets it ache. This drama is basically two people trying to outsmart each other and accidentally falling in love in the most painfully beautiful way possible.
Like imagine plotting revenge but then oops you caught feelings and now you’re emotionally unstable.
The tension??? ILLEGAL.
The yearning??? CRIMINAL.
The eye contact??? I need compensation.
They really said: “I will use you.”
“No, I will use you.”
And then both of them uses each other for emotional devastation.
Also why is everyone in this drama suffering so elegantly??? If I was going through half of that, I would not look that good doing it. Meanwhile they’re out here being heartbroken in HD slow motion with wind blowing dramatically.
The slow burn is so slow I aged, healed, and got hurt again while watching it. But the MOMENTS?? The glances?? The almost-confessions?? I was screaming internally like a Victorian woman with no rights.
And don’t even get me started on the whole
“I don’t trust you but I would die for you” dynamic.
That trope alone deserves a national award. Plot? Deception, poison, revenge, hidden identities basically chaos but make it romantic. By the end, I wasn’t even watching, I was emotionally participating.

A Soft, Warm Feel-Good Drama
I watched Soundtrack #1 and this was honestly such a lovely, easy series to watch. It’s one of those dramas that you watch when you just want something warm, emotional, and comforting. The main actors, Park Hyung-sik and Han So-hee, have really nice chemistry together. Their dynamic feels very natural and comfortable, which fits the story perfectly because it’s about friendship, love, and feelings that slowly grow. Nothing feels forced or overly dramatic.
I always enjoy watching Park Hyung-sik in dramas, and here again he was very good. He plays these quiet, loyal, caring characters very well, and this role really suits him. He brings a calm and warm feeling to the series.
What I liked most about this drama is that it feels very realistic and recognizable. The conversations, the awkward moments, the small emotional scenes — it all feels very real and relatable. It’s not a big dramatic story, but a small, personal one.
It’s also just a perfect series to watch when you want a feel-good moment. I actually watched it on the couch with a blanket and a cup of tea and finished it in one go. It’s short, easy to watch, and just very cozy and comforting.
The music is also very beautiful and of course very important in this series. The songs fit perfectly with the story and really help create the emotional atmosphere. The music and the story really work together very nicely.
I honestly think the overall review score for this drama could have been higher, because it’s a very well-made, soft, emotional series that does exactly what it’s supposed to do: make you feel warm and a little emotional.
It’s a sweet, calm, romantic drama that is perfect to watch in between heavier series. Just relaxing, emotional, and very enjoyable.

What the... cringe
This was quite a disappointment and hard to get through. The review will be a bit short, because there is not much to say.
The premise is decent, but the execution is too cringe. It felt like a gag webtoon was put on a screen. Everything was dialed to the max. No subtlety in sight.
The female lead is at times normal, but at times she gets over the top with things. The ML is over the top like with reactions and everything like 95% of the time. Spouting "fitness" advice, thats wrong half the time. And all the side characters are pretty cringe too.
The sideplot of the ex girlfriend was kinda meh, and her story didnt feel relevant or impactful at all.
If you want a kdrama about unfit woman getting fit and falling in love with her trainer then check out Oh my Venus. I have some issues with that one too, especially the male lead being kinda stiff, but honestly thats better then being cringe for the whole show.

Watch this!!!
I love this couple from "A Breeze Of Love" similar story but also worth checking out. Its always a dream to go back to the past to change the future in which this story is about. Every episode leaves you gripping for more, the chemistry is great and honestly they improved so much in their acting!!It's subtle, calm and its a new fresh of air. Just finished and I was so mad it ended like that! So going to rewatch this and their other drama. I really love this series worth watching.

Mediocre
gawd ill be real with you, this series bored me out of my mind. Everything was lackluster from the plot to the acting. The time traveling plot made zero sense to me. I already hated it when he managed to go to the past and future easily. Basically there was no medium for this time travel, he managed to go back to the present cuz he ripped a drawing and then to the past when he drew again and then went back again when he interrupted a death? and supposed to accident was so stupid and anti climatic. bro literally wasn't paying attention to the road at all. He is stupid. Also the force villainization of the best friend for some reason?? made absolutely zero sense, why was U Jin treating his own friend like a gum stuck on his shoe? It literally came from no where. Now the acting, lacked alot of emotions. I expect that when you meet the love of your life again after he died it would be more emotional but he had the same face the entire time. Even the kiss was pretty meh by today standards. Didn't even see anything, was either too dark or too bright or was just a peck kiss. So meh from the beginning to the end.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Pursuit of Jade: Emoção, Romance e Química Perfeita

Semua orang kena tipu

A breathtaking jade i'll cherish eternally
I was a sobbing mess during the last episode. 😭 As someone who doesn't usually watch historical cdramas, I never expected this to leave such a lasting impact on me, but Pursuit of Jade completely captured my heart. Everything from the story, conversations, and character relationships to political schemes and fight sequences was so well-written and well-executed.Of course, none of this would work without the brilliant cast! All of them portrayed their characters with so much intentional detail in every stare and every movement. Even the villains or complex characters like Qimin were so fascinating to watch.
Huge credit goes to the author, screenwriters, and director for their vision. They managed to convey themes that are so relevant to our generation today. You can tell they worked incredibly hard to make the story's message resonate with us.
I was constantly in awe of the symbolism and foreshadowing in every frame and even the lighting choice felt vital to each and every character and their story.
Only a few shows have ever made me feel this alive. Reply 1988 for its warmth, Lovely Runner for its strength, and The First Frost for its hope, and now Pursuit of Jade has earned its spot. I’ve loved watching Changyu’s journey and seeing her version of feminism and love unfold. There's so much grace and courage with the way she carries herself. Whether she’s loving fiercely or standing her ground for what’s right, she does it with a kind of bravery that leaves everyone around her inspired.
I’m going to miss this world so much but I’m so happy I got to experience it in real-time. This is definitely my drama of the year!
P.S. I also deeply loved the parallel world shown at the end. Seeing a version of their lives where those tragic events never happened felt so healing. I find myself doing that in real life too, imagining how, if things had gone differently, we might be living a life full of love, happiness, and warmth we deserve, staying with our loved ones for as long as possible. It felt so deeply personal i just couldn't help but to cry and appreciate everything. 💕

why do i still keep watching this series??!
In the fifth installment of the University Series, where you'd expect the screenwriters would get better at adapting a wattpad novel for screen, somehow they keep getting worse with each season. Via as a character never truly stood out to me in the previous adaptations, but I am nothing if not a *sucker* for best friends to lovers trope - so I was genuinely looking forward to this (even when MDL ratings told me not to). Unfortunately, the other reviews and ratings are correct. Before expressing my disappointment, let me point out the few things i LOVE about the series, and the reason why i *will* watch the 6th season too.
1. The Group - I think the OG writer has done a great job creating this friend group. Their banter and moments are my favourite part of this compilation series.
2. Social Media - while a lot of other modern stories dont fully include just how much we are online in today's reality, I think this series does a great job at capturing the online world and language.
3. Obsessive fan culture - Though we didn't dive deep but I liked the commentary on fan culture and the death of private life for celebrities - i also liked the critique of love team contracts where the "couple" needs to maintain the relationship even when off-cam.
4. That one episode that was just full of easter eggs and everyone's actual first-meets.
Now for the letdowns,
Acting has never been a great sell for this series, but MAN this season was especially bad. i felt NO chemistry between the leads, particularly from the FL side. they just *always* felt like friends to me instead of a couple. The dialogues were cringey (but thats true for every season), and the kiss scenes were SO AWKWARD. the "sex" scenes even worse. I feel like it would have been better if the director had decided to just insinuate those scenes than whatever they did in the show. I FELT SECOND HAND EMBARASSMENT IT WAS SO BAD.
And while we are talking about the director, why was the handheld camerawork SO JARRING? i genuinely felt dizzy while watching the show, i was convinced i'm having a vertigo episode. To make matters worse, the screenwriters didn't do well either - the couple kept having the same fights, the characters were so inconsistent going from “i was selfish i need to apologise” to “we shouldn’t have ever met” to “i need to apologise” in the same damn episode; it was truly tiring to watch.
Also, this one's petty but, WHY SO MANY DAMN FLASHBACKS AND MONTAGES?? EVERY DAMN TIME HE SINGS.
In conclusion, I think this entire series would've benefited A LOT if the creators had continued to keep each season only 10 episodes long.
