There have been great dramas airing this season, but tvN hit it once again. This may have become one of my top favourites of all time.
I love stories that deal with great human questions such as what it means to live, to love, our role in (our own) history, the need to make amends with your own past and being the ruler of your own fate. All of this graced with supernatural and spiritual elements such as karma and reincarnation as well as a lot of symbology and metaphors turns it into a refreshing and touching story about love, friendship and loyalty through time.

Besides, all the three main choices for the main roles are perfect. Yoo Ah In, whom I recently watched in Secret Love Affair and mesmerized me with his talent, has easily become one of my Top 5 Korean actors. Im Soo Jung, for whom I have a soft spot ever since I watched Park Chang Wook’s “I’m a cyborg but that’s OK” (I strongly recommend that movie!). And Go Kyung Pyo, for whom I also have a soft spot ever since I watched Reply 1988.

Chicago Typewriter is an amazingly written drama. Plus, it feels like a movie, as if everything was already planned in advance and it finds its perfect closure at the end. I mean, it must have obviously been planned in advance, but you know how TV series work sometimes: depending on how the audiences respond some things from the original script might be altered along the way. But in this case, beyond the usual commercial concessions the plot feels perfectly drawn.

The soundtrack is great and the music is perfectly used in every occasion to match the dramatic intensity of the scenes.

Summing up, this is one of the great dramas this season, and as such, it’s a must.
Oh, and I want Han Se Ju’s mansion!!!

This is quite simply one of the best dramas ever made. It hits the trifecta of great writing, great acting and great directing with astonishing aplomb.

If you want to watch a show that manages to take a single case and from that moment on weave through a web of tangled relationships and complicated motivations without dropping the thread once, watch this drama.

If you want to watch a show where two people have instant chemistry that isn't romantic but still sparks because they just get each other and are better for it, watch this show. The two main characters have such a satisfying rapport that doesn't need to be romantic.

That doesn't mean that other characters fall short mind you, and it's so amazing to see the arcs of the other characters, the fact that they even get them elevates this drama to the upper echelon of dramas alone.

The fact that this is this writer's first drama is astounding and I can't wait for their next project, although this one set the bar insanely high. The fact that the tension through out this drama didn't waver once and that everything concluded so satisfyingly is an amazing feat unto itself.

I might add more later, but for now this is easily one of the easiest recommendations to make. If you like a insanely well made drama about crime and mystery, drop everything and watch this. And even if those are not your jam, give this a go, I'm sure you won't regret this.

The main reason I loved Night Light is the relationship between our main female leads, Seo Yi Kyung and Lee Se Jin. In the beginning, there are a lot of mistrust between them, but they grow to care and love each other throughout the story.

I fell in love with both Lee Yo Won and Uee in this drama! Yo Won plays a smart, cunning woman who'd do anything to achieve her goals. Uee gives life to Lee Se Jin, a poor woman whose ambition grabs Yi Kyung's attention. Yi Kyung is cold, but we can see hints of vulnerability, something that really drew me to her character. I loved how capable she was: watching her outsmart those men who were older than her (and who underestimated her) was extremely satisfying. Se Jin was much more light-hearted (at least in the beginning), she smiles and jokes a lot, but deep inside her was a desire to reach the top, something that Yi Kyung saw and wanted to use. Their relationship is complex, as we don't know exactly how they truly feel about each other: do they trust each other? will they betray each other? But the answer becomes clear, because we can see these two women, who have personal goals on their own, grow fonder of each other and even giving some of those goals up in order to protect the other.

Their relationship was truly fascinating. I've never seen another drama that focus on a relationship between two women and I honestly don't think I'll get something like this in the near future. As I said, Se Jin and Yi Kyung were my favorite part of the drama, so I was able to easily get through the aspects I wasn't a fan of: the business talk, the slow pace, scenes that were too dramatic. It was so interesting and satisfying seeing two women being successful in an old-men dominated field, that I didn't care for these downsides.

Night Light is an interesting drama that focus on its female characters and the relationship that forms between them. If you don't like business or slow paced dramas, this might not be for you. But if you want an unique drama that portrays a complex, intense relationship between two ambitious, intelligent women, this could be perfect for you.

I've got mixed feeling about this one. Though it wasn't a bad movie, it seemed like it lucked of something. Okay, first things first: the movie had a comedy element that was excellent, though it was too "manga" like, but in the end it worked. The love story was okay and cute as well. The performances were great and the casting was perfect for their characters, especially the leading man. Now, the whole thing was well executed, however, it kind of felt like it was dragging on and on and the second half onward was bleak and slightly boring. Maybe that's because the love story lucked some intensity. So, overall, 5 out of 10.

This drama was cute, but having watched the movie first, I've got to say that I kind of expected more on the main story at least. The main difference with the movie, that was a plus for this one and a minus for the movie, was that there were several interesting cases that the agency had to take upon, and most of the drama centred around that. In addition, the main protagonist was cute and bubbly, unlike the movie's who was more of the smart and dynamic. The girl was actually lovable and the love triangle was okay, though the main couple's chemistry was bleak and I would rather had her with the second lead. Also, the drama of the love story was kind of cliché. But, it was a cute drama and it was an easy watch. So, 4 out of 10.

I can just say WOW. The amazing acting of Ji Sung is just awesome ! I just attached and cried out all my tears to all the 7 personalities that don't even exist.
I already knew it would be an excellent drama after watching Secret Love (if you didn't see it go for it!).
They totally deserved their awards !

Finally. After watching so many frustrating dramas, this drama made the difference. Same with signal. Breathtaking. Has lots of twists and turns but the plot was so great. I'd like to commend the writer for doing this drama as well as the.actors and director. Not a predictable drama. Thank God for great dramas like this. I'm so happy i watched this. It's a high quality drama. Not just another drama with a horrible plot.

First of all, although I gave this show a low rating for Story, Acting and Music, I must say that I enjoyed this show and if there's an option to rate for fun, it would be a 9.

[Also, I am still subjective to the acting skills of some idols and EXO is one of them. Probably, the only idols I have been truly moved/convinced by their acting skills are Park Hyungsik, Yook Sungjae, Kim Kibum and Choi Minho. But after watching this, I can see a bright future for the EXO members.]

STORY:
I didn't expect much from this show. I know no one except that I'll be watching EXO members (I haven't listened to EXO but I know who's who) and a girl who looks like a mix of Lee Sung Kyung and Jung Chae Yeon in a storyline that many fanfictions might have touched.

But what made me watch this is the storyline that I find quite cute and something that you'd wish you could have read or watch back when you were in high school. It's the kind of plot you'd read in fanfiction but still enjoy reading if you like those kind of stuffs plus the antics you normally wouldn't expect if you're watching a normal rom-com (what is normal anyway in rom-coms?). Truthfully, it's not anything new but it's not anything you'll see often either or get the chance to see in a drama as the main storyline. I think it's more with the feeling and experience you'd get while watching this. I swear my cheeks hurt from smiling.

ACTING:
The female lead for me was quite good and she reminded of Lee Sung Kyung's acting in Weightlifting Fairy. The males' acting were good enough and the way they deliver their lines reminded of a comical skit or something you'd see in SNL but still funny and convincing. I loved Sehun's and Kwang-soo's acting feats. I find it touching when Kwang-Soo's mother addressed his son in the end and I think that it was a little hint that Kwang-soo has some illness (but I'm not sure) and that Sehun understood this somehow. I didn't think his character is that shallow. D.O. is amazing although awkward at times. Chanyeol's okay but he really shines when Ga Young's in the picture. Baekhyun and Kai are good as well. I just don't know how to judge their acting properly since it's like they're acting the way they would probably do in their normal day-to-day lives (they're acting as fictionalized versions of themselves anyway XD). Suho, uhm, not really sure, but I guess his acting was a bit believable.

CHEMISTRY:
It's a definite yes. Chanyeol and Ga Young definitely have that chemistry. They look so good together that I find it quite cute. I think they look better together than Hyungsik and Bo Young in Strong Woman or Joo Hyuk and Sung Kyung in Weightlifting. I think it's always a difficult endeavor to find an actress that'll complement an idol. But this one, it's like the show hit a jackpot. I also had a little second lead syndrome but still Chanyeol for the win. :)

I felt really bad though since each episode last like a commercial film and that I wish they could have made it 30 min long but I think that maybe it's better to be brief but still concise.

P.S. If you're a SHAWOL, let's be friends. ^_^

I would say the story is "basic" (a group of college athletes who are fighting for their dreams) but gosh the acting and the chemistry between Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung is daebak.
I cannot hide my happiness when I saw the article about their real relationship haha
I felt so empty at the end of the drama that I listen to the ost every day sigh my life is very boring lol

This has been my one of my favorite series so far after Addicted/Heroin. The story and cinematography were amazing. The acting skills of the actors were superb. It moved me to tears during the drama scenes. Puen and Than were very effective actors. One of the things I like most in this series is that it promotes sports such as volleyball which is very rare in movies as well as sportsmanship. The director was very effective in leaving us with the wild imagination in terms of the real score between Puen and Than... especially during their romantic moment. I just hope it will have SEASON 2 because I fell in love with the series... I'm begging you guys... please.

Surprisingly, I ended up really enjoying this drama. Nothing surprising about the storyline. It was easy to see how each situation would play out. However one part that I thought was totally unnecessary was the ending. It was half done and rushed in my opinion. I skipped through it to see if anything would happen but honestly. It would have been better to leave those last scenes out.

I started it off and admittedly I almost dropped it because I couldn't stand the female lead. She just seemed too bratty at the beginning but thankfully I stuck it out and she became a favourite of mine after the first few episodes. She attacks everything with vigour that is rarely seen in dramaland, especially lakorns.

Weir was great in his role (however I may be biased, because I'm a fan of him). If you like shirtless eye candy, then he meets all of your needs :D But seriously, he did a solid job of portraying his role. Nothing too special, but definitely not lacking in any way.

There was some nice side character development from Haruethai. But I could not forgive the way that they dealt with the princes character. I just... no. It was annoying to see how it ended. And Mintras character just descended into chaos by the end. I thought that they could have given her so much more depth as a character but she just became too much.

Music was nice. The OST that Weir sung gave such a hauntingly beautiful feel over the scenes. One of my favouties for sure.

All in all, a kind of predictable storyline with a lot of the common cliches but solid male lead and outstanding female lead. A nice serious lakorn without the slap/kiss between the leads (it gets a bit close with side characters but definitely not romanticized thankfully).

This story is really beautiful, I would say its divided by three stages of their relationship. the first is the unknown, sad and fun part, the second can be call the excited, crazy, funny loving part and third is like dramatic, chanting for them to be happy together, and wishing time could just stop. What really sold me to keep watching this series is the acting of the main characters who really males feel sad, dressed and happy with their interpretation of the story.
All in I like the series, but sometimes they would drag a the story of the side characters for to long in certain episodes that it becomes a little boring. For because of this it lower my love for the series especially in the middle parts but when you get to the last 15 episode are the best ones in the series for the story to become cohesive and interesting with suspense and allot of drama.
