The storyline definitely dragged, and I often wished each episode was focused on a different case instead of just this corruption of the prosecutor's office. So slow.
I was left disappointed because I love Bae Doona in Sense8 and was expecting something of that caliber in this drama. She didn't get to showcase her acting abilities in this drama unfortunately (as far as I watched).
With an unoriginal plot and dull main character, this drama failed to excite me and I dropped after ten episodes. While I do not recommend this at all, you should definitely give it a try and form your own thoughts on it.

I thought there was more chemistry between Hao Wei and Kai Qi.
Jasper Liu's character was too childish at times, which made it difficult for me to believe that he was this badass chef and that he possessed the know-how to run his father's company when he wasn't stalking Kai Qi.
It's never a good idea to rely on children too much in a supporting role because the cuteness factor quickly wears off and you find yourself wishing them bodily harm. At least, I did.
The entire kidnap/rescue scenes were laughable and not in a good way.
I absolutely loved the supporting cast because they made this show tolerable and fun to watch.
I think I'll take a break from watching Taiwanese television shows for a while thanks in large part to Jasper Liu's performance.

This lakorn is one where the more you watch, the more you notice the red flags.
Ramin is not the only issue here.
The first problem lies with Nita, the ambassador’s wife. Despite being in her 70s, perhaps even older, she lacks self-confidence. She becomes jealous when her husband shows attention to Wayoon and refuses to accept his explanations. This leads her to confide in Ramin’s aunt, a woman who places great importance on social class and marrying within one’s class. She already has her own issues. Influenced by the ambassador’s wife, she develops a dislike for Wayoon without even meeting her. She employs housemaids, drivers, and other women to whom she provides scholarships to follow and stalk Wayoon and Ramin. They harass Wayoon, making her life miserable. They gossip about her, labeling her as a woman who seeks out and sleeps with any man who has money. They even believe she had a relationship with Nicolai.
You’ll find yourself angry with Wayoon because she forgives Ramin too easily. That man did not deserve a second chance.
You’ll be left with second lead syndrome, as Nicolai was the only honest man in her life. He loved her unconditionally, took care of her, and even a baby who was not his.
It goes without saying that Nicolai deserved his own happy ending, with or without Wayoon. Ramin, on the other hand, needed to suffer a bit more and face the consequences of his actions. He believed his aunt over the woman he loves and was never a supportive boyfriend anyway.
below the stars is my original review

It's been couple of weeks since I've finished this lakorn, I'm still humming Rak-Rae, it constant;y non stop playing on my mind.
This is not a revenge drama but it has slap kiss,
I cried a lot while watching this lakorn..
Ramin our main guy is handsome, hot secretary of Thai Ambassador of Austria, Ramin is attracted to Wayun since he first saw her before they've been introduced formally, Wayun is studying to be a simultaneous translator for UN.
They eventually fall in love Wayun falls pregnant and Ramin tells her, they're not ready to be parents, he offers her money with the influence of his aunt who's like his mother.
Ramin thinks Wayun had an abortion, he doesn't learn the truth until the very end and that's through his friend's gf, his friend's gf tells him if you see the baby you'll understand that there's no need for a DNA test.
And we have Nicolai a russian student also studying to be translator for UN also happens to love Wayun, unlike Ramin, Nicolai was always there for her whenever she needed, from day one to up to the end.
Some ppl find this lakorn boring but for me it was not boring, this one is one of the rare lakorns I've not skipped a scene.
Yes there are / were annoying characters, and you murmur hello wo the hell are you that you're putting your nose into a couple's relationship, business? if you can't turn a man to yourself it means he doesn't want you, move on,
I don't know how they find a baby that looks like both Pancake & Aom..
Needless to say Aom was as a hot as his usual self lol.
If I were Wayoon I'd never turn back and accept Ramin, I'd chose Nicolai a man who was with me all the time, who was looking after the baby not even related to him, while both working & studying, who was feeding, changing, bathing my baby, who was looking after me when I am sick..
who was renting me a flat a bigger one at a nicer area, just to be sure that I'm and my baby is safe.
But what does our girl do goes and accepts his apology to live happily ever after..
Nicolai could have easily given those to her, I used to think like the lakorn ladies before forgiving, accepting bla bla but now I think different. No matter how much you love a man, if a man is not man enough to be on your side, that love slowly dies, it never dies completely but it open your eyes.
One of the scenes that I cried when Nicolai gave his mother's ring to Wayun and giving back to the Ring as a necklace to baby Lila, it means he's not gonna love anyone like Wayun..
I also loved the beautiful scenery of Austria, Vienna , Salzburg, It just reminded me the Sissy Movies I've watched, pitty that they no longer show it on TV, the only option is buying the DVDs..

Where as Paul has a different personality lol, let's say ugly duckling turns into a swan after swapping places with his twin, it's hard for Paul as a straight man living together being in close skinship with a beautiful woman.
it's quite funny, it has got romance, everything except revenge, slap kiss & rape. :)
The things is the plot is a bit slow.

- Many typical clichés with nice execution
- No melodrama, characters are straightforward
- Filled with lovey-dovey scenes, lots of sweet moments
- Good acting, chemistry between the main characters makes sense
- Good character development especially with the male lead
- Side characters don't have any significant importance, but acting is good
- The beginning looks like it took a budget cut, but improves over time
- Music was fitting
Overall a sweet and cheese romance! This drama is a nice break.

At first liked the story but it isn't a powerfull one, I wish it had more guts and feeling to it, this could have been a great movie, but the missed some essential keys to make this movie better. First they should focus on one or two major topics, instead they threw in some not-essential stuff which made the movie go haywire, (I can't tell you because it would spoil the movie). Because of these extra's the acting wasn't too great either.
However I did feel along with the main actor, I could feel the despair and at a point he made me almost pull my hair out from frustration, so he saved this movie for me.
Also they could have send a very powerfull message about the media, how they use it to trick people and we should not believe all the news, but they failed to deliver that which is a shame.
Watch this if you like movies about the media and a good main lead.
Skip this if you want a in-depth movie with action, romance and if you don't like blood.

Do not be deceived by the poster. I really thought it was one mediocre of a movie until I finally gave it a go. The acting was good and so was the story. Like it's title, it kept getting better as the movie progressed. The full circle of the story was heartbreaking, but there is an intangible satisfaction to it.

Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup: 12 Years Reunion

The story was nice, and I was captivated by it. It was innocent and sad, and charming.
By the time it fast forwards to them being adults, I just disliked it so very much. The adult characters didn't seem like they were anything like their teen characters and it drove me nuts.
I didn't stop watching because I felt too invested at that point, but worth the while to watch the episodes that they were teens in, I would say.

I watched this because China banned its release. I was curious and the movie proved worthy of that curiosity. It wasn't great, but it was one undeniably beautiful movie. I love the dialogues. Sometimes the lines are rather poetic. The actors could even tell more of the story even with no words at all. The film seemed to glorify the simplicity of its plot with good writing and actors.
Have an open mind upon watching this film, but don't get too attached. It's just a film after all.
