Primeiras impressões

Pra começar fiquei um pouco confusa, pois quando vi a premissa logo pensei que fosse inimigos mesmo, assim como em "Bad buddy", mas ao ver que são amigos de infância me deixou um pouco chateada. Outra coisa que poderia ter sido melhor é a cena do carro que com a tela verde bastante óbvia tirou um pouco a imersão na história. Além disso, os ep poderiam facilmente ter 25/30 min, que não ficariam maçantes e ainda teriam um ótimo desenvolvimento.
Outro ponto muito importante que vale ressaltar para todas as séries BL tailandesas, e que vêm deixando a desejar é o fato de colocarem tantos filtros e efeitos nas cenas que deixam tudo com aparência branca quase como um sonho, principalmente na pele dos atores. É tão artificial que incomoda e deixa a série com aspecto amador.
No geral, a história é boa, com boa química entre os personagens e que deixam claro que sabem conversar e resolver suas divergências facilmente.

kDrama molto quotato, che avevo nella lista da vedere da mesi ma che non mi convincevo mai a guardare. E giunta ora alla fine la sensazione di fondo è ancora la stessa: bello ma non mi convince. Sicuramente lo spunto, benché non originalissimo, è stato sviluppato in modo da caratterizzare la serie e distinguerla dalle altre, questo va detto. I personaggi sono ben strutturati, anche quelli secondari, e le storie che si intrecciano sono più di una. C'è spazio per qualche riflessione, al di là del semplice romance. Eppure non mi ha catturata. Così, senza motivo. Al di là di un paio di aspetti che personalmente ritengo dei difetti, non ho trovato grosse pecche... Ma il coinvolgimento non c'è stato lo stesso.
Una cosa che ho curiosamente apprezzato è stata la mancanza degli smartphone, ormai perennemente presenti nelle serie recenti. Purtroppo questo breve salto indietro nel passato recente ha portato con sé anche tagli di capelli che davvero mi hanno sempre urtata, pazienza. Nota probabilmente discordante col pensiero comune, il protagonista non partiva avvantaggiato: l'attore che lo interpreta non è mai stato tra i miei preferiti, anzi. L'ho tollerato a fatica, persino in altri drama celebri come Goblin, dove per fortuna l'altro ML (il tristo mietitore) rendeva la serie decisamente meritevole di essere vista.
Gusti personali a parte, un buon drama ma, per qualche inspiegabile motivo, non nelle mie corde.

Une curiosité aux sentiments mitigés...

C'est assez compliqué de parler de cette série parce qu'elle laisse des sentiments mitigés tout au ayant quelques points intéressants…

Playboyy pue le sexe, littéralement. Le sexe, la dépravation, la sueur et la douleur. J'ai eu besoin d'un peu de temps pour arriver à la fin (je ne recommande pas de la binge-watch), mais c'était une curiosité qui me donnait envie d'aller jusqu'au bout. Et peut-être que le regard sauvage de Koawoat était aussi une raison de ma ténacité, ahah.

À mes yeux, la plus grande réussite de cette série est son ambiance. Dès le premier épisode, il y a une tension qui s'installe. C'est à la fois érotique, sexuel, sensuel, chaud, humide, mais aussi curieux. De temps en temps, ça devient plus lugubre ne serait-ce que par la direction prise par l'intrigue, pour finalement revenir à des hommes nus qui s'amusent dans les draps (ou ailleurs). Parfois, ça sonne comme un vieux porno ringard. Certaines scènes sont tellement horribles qu'elles en deviennent drôles tout en ayant une forme d'attraction... Honnêtement, c'est souvent embarrassant. Mais à titre comparatif, j'étais plus à l'aise devant Playboyy que Secret Crush on You (que j'ai abandonné après trois tentatives).

Je ne pense pas qu'il faille prendre l'histoire au sérieux. C'est tiré par les cheveux avec une enquête qui s'entremêle à des romances et à des règlements de compte. Je n'ai pas compris l'intérêt de certains personnages. La fin me laisse perplexe… Je ne l'ai pas suivi à la loupe. Cependant, je n'ai pas le souvenir que cela pouvait prendre cette direction. Je ne suis donc pas très emballée par une suite, mais après tout…

Difficile de ne pas parler des scènes de sexe. Elles sont particulièrement osées pour certaines, mais elles sont bien réalisées. Ça colle à l'univers de la série. Pour prendre un exemple, les scènes de Kiseki: Chapter 2 étaient audacieuses oui, mais elles ne dégageaient rien, contrairement à celles de Playboyy. Qu'elles plaisent ou non, elles ont une ambiance et dégagent quelque chose (un sentiment, une tension...). Pour cette raison, j'ai ajouté 0.5 à ma note globale, parce qu'on ne peut nier l'aplomb des acteurs.

Je pense qu'il est important de mentionner que vous ne pouvez pas aimer/regarder Playboyy si vous êtes mal à l'aise avec la nudité ou des actes durs. On voit beaucoup de fesses, de torses transpirants et des actes qui peuvent déranger et peut-être choquer pour les plus sensibles. Personnellement, je suis une personne très pudique lorsqu'il s'agit de mon corps et de mes sentiments, mais la nudité des autres ne me dérange pas du tout. Je n'étais donc pas mal à l'aise devant la majorité des scènes. Il faut également accepter de voir des scènes où les personnages se font malmener et où certains s'en sortent alors qu'ils devraient être en prison pour la quatrième fois en moins de trois minutes, mais bon… Comme dit plus haut, c'est une histoire qui ne doit pas être prise très au sérieux.

Pour résumer, Playboyy est une série étrange qui tangue sans cesse entre la curiosité et le ridicule. Je ne pense pas l'avoir aimé, mais je ne pense pas l'avoir détesté non plus. C'est un entre-deux bizarre qui me pousse à ne pas recommander cette série, mais à ne pas non plus la condamner. Je pense que chacun réagit de façon différente vis-à-vis d'elle. Essayez et vous verrez ?

Als allererst möchte ich darauf hinweisen, dass ich mir als Europäer natürlich viele Gedanken gemacht habe..Vorallem muss man sich als Ausländer schon ein wenig über Werte, Attribute und Traditionen erkundigen. Man muss verstehen, dass viele Situationen und Begegnungen mit vollkommen anderen Reaktionen bewertet und vollzogen werden, als in der eigenen Kultur.. Das habe ich beachtet und auch verstanden.
Dieses Drama aber zeigt ein Thema auf, welches in jeder Kultur vorkommt.. Häusliche Gewalt, Familiäre Missverständnisse, Geheimnisse, Misstrauen, Verrat und sonstige menschliche Schwächen und Stärken wie Liebe, emotionale Wärme, Empathie und Fürsorge. Nichts hat gefehlt..Wie gesagt, ich war in Vorfreude auf eine tolle Story, im Gegensatz zu einer plumpen Teenagerkomödie über das erste verliebt sein..*zwinker*...
Was ich aber gesehen hab, war ein wortkarger Versuch der Protagonisten aus böser Vergangenheit und dunkler Geheimnisse, ein noch größeres Problem zu machen..Nämlich das des ständigen Davonlaufends vor eben diesen Problemen um andere angeblich nicht zu enttäuschen und zu verletzen?? Im Grunde verletzte Seelen, die darauf warten, dass das Wetter wieder schön wird um die richtigen Entscheidungen zu treffen..
Dieses Thema hätte soviele Worte und wunderbare Dialoge verdient und nötig gehabt, damit der Zuschauer das Gefühl bekommt, er säße bei einem Psychologen und ihm geholfen wird.. Aber stattdessen wurde daraus leider nur ein ermüdender, teilweise sinnfreier und verständnisloser Kommunikationsversuch, der am Ende eigentlich alles wichtige offen ließ..Der Autor ist wahrscheinlich davon ausgegangen, dass der Zuschauer sehr gut und exakt interpretieren kann.

Minha opinião sobre a segunda parte de “Love Like a Galaxy” difere da primeira. Embora o desenvolvimento dos personagens principais tenha melhorado, não atingiu minhas expectativas. Um ponto positivo da história foi o humor bem desenvolvido, que me fez rir. Os atores também desempenharam bem seus papéis, embora alguns não tenham se encaixado totalmente nos personagens.

Por outro lado, a parte negativa foi o desenvolvimento do romance desde a primeira parte. Os personagens careciam de química e confiança desde o início. NiaoNiao nunca pareceu realmente gostar de Zi Sheng, apesar de suas promessas de ficar com ele. Além disso, a interpretação de Leo Wu como o general Zi Sheng não transmitiu a imponência e o medo característicos do personagem. A trama também apresentou resoluções apressadas e conflitos repetitivos.

Em geral, apesar das avaliações positivas, considero a história apenas mediana. Esperava mais, especialmente porque já assisti a vários dramas do mesmo gênero. A história focou em vingança e conflitos internos, o que difere da premissa da primeira parte. O casal principal ficou separado por cinco anos, e o reacendimento repentino da paixão no final pareceu forçado. Não senti que NiaoNiao realmente amasse Zi Sheng, apesar de suas promessas. Mesmo sabendo que eles ficaram juntos no final, a ausência de uma cena de casamento após mais de 55 episódios de problemas em torno desse relacionamento foi decepcionante.

Based on the script by Rod Mármol, known for creating LGBT+ stories and characters such as those in 'The Super Parental Guardians' and 'Mata Tapang', the audiovisual is set in Manila, the Philippine capital, in times of quarantine due to Covid -19, and tells the story of Judah Dela Vega, a rich young university student who has to maintain social distancing in an apartment shared with several fellow students, but where he has been left alone due to the departure of the others due to the cessation of the classes motivated by the new coronavirus pandemic.
At home things are not better: his mother, Jane Dela Vega (LJ Moreno-Alapag), works abroad, and Lolly, his devoted grandmother (Gina Pareño) has rejected him after learning of his homosexuality and sends him to a camp. of conversion, so Judah refuses to return home with the lady.
However, his life changes when he crosses paths with Rocky Ilagan, a college classmate who has to work part-time because of the poverty in which his family lives, and who is forced to live in the same dormitory due to who has not been able to travel home to the provinces due to road closures.
The protagonists of the series are two broken boys, one for not having been accepted by his grandmother when he came out of the closet, which is why he has distanced himself from the person who raised him in the absence of his mother, and the other for hiding his homosexuality. before her mother when she read a text with a clear sign of suicidal instinct by preferring death instead of confessing her secret.
The main charm of the series directed by Pancho Maniquis (Stuck on You, 2021) comes from the relationship between the two young people, who build a very special bond. The chemistry between Royce Cabrera and Kyo Quijano, who play Rocky and Judah, respectively, is palpable: the two transmit tenderness, camaraderie and a lot of affection.
This helps a lot at a certain point in the plot in which the internalized homophobia of one of the protagonists threatens the love forged between the two, since the warmth is felt despite the conflict created.
Although the character of Royce is the one that receives the most development, and falls in love with his straight boy aura, the deep sensitivity in the struggle with his sexuality and for protecting the person he has fallen in love with, Kyo Quijano makes sure that We grow fond of his Judah because of the complexity of his character and the nuances he brings to it with his performance. We do not want any other ending other than happiness for the two lovers.
Royce acts precise and with innate naturalness, as always. He knows how to take his character to emotional levels without falling into drama. This young actor transmits at all times the transformation that occurs in his character. The casting work is absolutely right in his choice, given that he is able to understand and sentimentally reveal his character to the viewer.
This character's conflict lies in the fact that since his father is a priest, it is difficult for him to admit to him that he is gay. He never confesses his homosexuality to his deceased mother and the fact that he has not done so is something that haunts him.
Both actors have defended various LGBT characters. Royce Cabrera is known for playing the protagonists Ace Policarpo in 'Fuccbois' and Lito in 'Call Me Papi', and for participating in other feature films and series with homosexual themes, such as 'Where Is the Lie?', 'A Soldier's Heart' and 'B X J Forever'.
For his part, Kyo Quijano plays Bryan's boyfriend in 'Luv Express', and Freddie in 'Mahal Kita Beksman', a 2022 feature film.
The supporting cast also does a good job without ever stealing the show. Gina Pareño, remembered for her role as Nanay Flor in the 2008 film 'Serbis', plays a character who will end up accepting her grandson's homosexuality and supporting the relationship that he has begun to build with Rockie. With an infectious laugh, a cheerful countenance and many funny words, the actress reveals why she initially rejects Judah, and gives us more than one touching moment.
Domingo Cumla, in his first appearance on screen, also touches and manages to give nuances to his character beyond being the stereotype of a widowed father, loving and grateful for the kindness of his son, who provides monetarily and materially for the poor family.
Joining them is Beverly Cumla, whose acting debut took place in 2018 in the film 'A Country in Moving Pictures', and on this occasion she has a brief but memorable appearance as Rockie's sister. She will have a great role in the making of the series as editor and first assistant director.
'Quaranthings' stands out by virtue of its communicative power. No viewer will doubt the personality of someone who sleeps in a room with a photo of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, an image of Martin Luther King Jr. and posters of several Thai BL series hanging on its walls.
There are also interesting little details of queer coding that will not escape the public. The figures represented in the paintings in the room, the birthday cake candle that Royce holds in his hands, the birthday hats, the luminous decorative piece that rests on a nightstand, the alcohol bottles... The phallic references can be simple, but very effective.
Jan Silverio, known for his work in 'The Rain in Spain', plays Glenn Martinez, a character who correctly fulfills his role of making Royce jealous, as this young man shows interest in having a purely sexual relationship with Judah.
On the other hand, Karl Zarate not only plays Beshie, Judah's faithful boy friend, but also sings "Sansinukuban" (My Universe), the main theme of the series, by Pancho Maniquis and Fitz Shioda.
Kyo Quijano also shows his vocal skills, performing "Ipu-Ipo", by Fern Tan, Pancho Maniquis and Othello Intia.
In addition to its LGBT+ theme, the series, of 8 episodes with an average of 25 minutes each, is distinguished by how it deals with topics such as sexual orientation, gender identity, coming out, social and class differences, and the conflicts of young people regarding these. Judah has already come out of the closet and his main objective in this area is the search for pure love, while Rockie is afraid to recognize his sexuality in a patriarchal and heteronormative society in which men hide their homosexuality and silence their emotions.
This authenticity in portraying the conflicts of young people who are still in the closet for fear of expressing and understanding their feelings reminds us of the importance of queer communities telling their own stories. The creators know the subject and this is reflected in the final work.
Made with great care and love for a young audience, 'Quaranthings' is an adorable romance that also deals with important social and political issues without falling into clichés in telling a story about finding love in times of quarantine.
