This show is a love.

If you crave for a slow burning romance than this series a must watch for you.

I dont like cringe romance in chinese dramas which is very common.

This show is something I have seen for the first time in chinese drama.

Female lead has potrayed her character with so much versatility. I just loved her in this show.

Story is complex but very engaging to make us hold on to it till the very end.

I liked the romance arc between female lead , her guard and the lord.

Almost every character in this show has shown as grey and which is relatable to our real life. Thats why I am loving this show very much.

Actually not that bad

The reviews here are like a rollercoaster going up and down.

Playboyy is in essence a QL more than a BL (where most of the time one main convinced he's gay seduces his crush who's into girls). With BLs its the strong chemistry that makes it successful. Here all actors do a convincing job acting and making believe they're gay. Some BLs advocating gay acceptance (like teddybear) lack such passion.
The screenwriter (Den) is the same as from "only friends" , which is also a QL per that definition but with a well-known BL crew.

The prostitution aspect in the show is a probe not often used. The violence we saw in other mafia BLs and also the school flavour is in. There were some hot and steamy moments although "bed friend" from earlier in the year was more sensual and convincing like also "only friends" with the NC scenes.

For the couples, I thought that Nont looked a bit like Draco Malfoy's mom with the blond patches ;-) but found his acting quite good. The scene with Zouey dressed as a girl and Captain could have been more) and Zouye with Jason Lee scenes was also something to be developped. Zouey and Teena were maybe the weakest couple. Most genuine couple I was rooting for was Phop and Nuth, very convincing. Will see what season brings for them...

Hopefully these actors get some rewards and positive vibe and I wish them good luck. after their performance in a more daring series.

To bring the average score higher I gave it a high 9.5 as 6.2 is not what the ranking should be as it's not a boring BL.

Interesting plot and great cast poorly exploited

I watched this drama for Xu Kai Cheng, perfect as usual and I also like Xing Fei, the FL.

However, if the plot (TT) is attractive and the first episodes are very catchy, the last third of the series is quite disappointing. The director wanted to drag the FUCK out of the plot with unnecessary and boring narrative arcs.

PLOT: FL, a young aspiring designer of the 21st century, is projected into a parallel (historical) martial arts world via a meteorite. She finds herself in the bed of the ML, heir to the most important sect, who also has a meteorite for TT later on. They will learn to know each other, trust each other, love each other, to face rivals together (villains of all kinds, evil sects, etc.)

PROS:
+ an excellent CL (but too many fake kisses).
+ some tasty scenes linked to Time Travel.
+ good support actors.

CONS:
- Here we find all the clichés of the TT, at the beginning well exploited, but which become boring by their repetition: the bad guy who wants to dominate the world, the rival and jealous half-brother, the obsessive lovers, etc.
- the last episodes are painful and require FF to get to the end. The arc “he disappears into space despite his desire to return” is poorly exploited.

=> This series could have been excellent, but the potential is wasted by a poorly written story.
***********************************************************************

+ quelques scènes savoureuses liées au Time Travel.
+ de bons acteurs support.

CONS:

There's so much going on

This show started off very strong for me. It hooked me instantly and i was drawn in by the different twists it had. But eventually, i noticed that the twists were way too much. The issue became "can I trust what the show is telling me?" simply because people died just to come back to life, people weren't who you thought they were, characters with memory loss, there was an ending but it wasn't the real ending. It was a lot. It was so much, that I went from watching every single day to at the last 4 episodes, i stopped watching it for 2 weeks. Every time I thought about finishing it, it felt like a chore because I knew I would spend the next four hours watching a show that I wouldn't be able to trust until the last 15 minutes of the last episode....which is exactly what happened. The last four hours is filled with information you don't need because it's essentially negated/overruled in the last 15 minutes.

This isn't to say it's a bad show, because it's not. It's just A LOT. Surprisingly, with all the different storyline changes, it wasn't hard to follow. The writing is done very well. Unfortunately, the amount of twists was the problem. The twists made sense, but there were just too many. Another thing is because of the amount of twists, I didn't really get to see why kang chul liked/loved oh yeon joo. I didn't get it. They barely had time together that was meaningful. Most of it was her slapping him, then them being on the run, or their lives were threatened (don't forget he also lost his memories of their time together). Also, he never outright called her pretty. He never fully compliments her. It made me feel like he didn't really like her. He even asked his bodyguard if she was considered pretty because he himself didn't know. I get it's supposed to be a joke, but he's also supposed to be the guy who risked his life to save her. He can do all that, but draws the line at considering her beautiful??

At the end, because of the different rules and variables put in place, there seemed to be an easier ending. But of course, all the characters had to overlook it for the sake of plot. In all, there were very many tropes thrown into one show. and though they were executed well, it was just far too many to make the ending satisfying. instead of being sad it's over, i'm upset it didn't happen sooner.

Overhated

Honestly, for being a thai bl from 2019 from gmmtv, it was wayy better than I expected.

Pretty much all of the characters were well written and the actors acted their roles exceptionally well, especially Off and Gun. The storyline progression and the conflict actually made sense unlike some of the bls I've watched. I actually think this is written better than some of the recent gmmtv bls.

The first half of the series is kinda painful to watch but it's so worth it because of Khai's redemption arc in the second half of the series. The storyline and the directing are really good if we compare it to some of the other bls from that time like 2gether and tharntype. And its actually funny most of the times. Though the funniest part of this series has to be from Two's speech in ep12 where he said that he was from Thailand AND EVERYONE CLAPPED!? That was the most unintentionaly funny scene I've ever seen. I know my sence of humor is broken.

I feel like people didn't give this a fair chance because of all the crying that Third did in the first 5-6eps because of Khai. I suggest if anyone's gonna watch this series, watch it with an open mind. Yes, their friendship was toxic and Khai himself was very toxic but he changed. And its not a case of 'Third's love magically fixed him' but more of a his love for third and his respect for him made him want to be a better person and genuinely change his ways and behavior to become a better version of himself. But of course no one can change completely overnight and neither did Khai so it did lead to a few problems later on. But he learned to deal with it properly especially in the special ep. And that is why their relationship is so beautiful and real.

I do firmly believe that this series deserves a higher rating than 7.9. It's not the best but it is definitely one of the best of it's kind. This side characters were also nice (except a few things here and there but i mostly didn't pay much attention to their storyline so idc). Overall, you're definitely gonna love this if you're a romcom fan cause this really makes you feel all kinds of emotions in the course of 12 ep (+special ep).

well, it's fun but also meh

Ban Hani (Choi Kang Hee) , a single 37-year-old lives her timid life day by day, until one day, she met her spunky 17-year-old self. This 17-year-old Hani is nothing like her now, she’s obnoxious and optimistic, while her current self is passive and worn-down with life. How come they're so different despite being the same person? Is there a guilt that Hani carries in her adult life?

It's always interesting to see opposite personalities interacting on-screen. I like the idea of the major contrast between Hani's past self and current self and they were a great match on-screen. I enjoyed the hijinks, comedy and the high energy cast performance a lot in the beginning, but started losing excitement when it starts fleshing out on the trauma. Somehow it didn't feel as emotional and deep, which maybe due to it stays trying to be silly and over the top. I've seen few dramas that handle this emotional / funny tone very well, but here it didn't feel fit together in my opinion. The male lead storyline was a mess although Kim Young Kwang acted very well. I think the banter between him and his dad was better than the romance. I don't think they need the romance in this story, it has enough plotline to focus on. Overall, it was just ok, I had fun at first, but got bored as it ends.

Unraveling Emotions and Morality: A Personal Take on ‘Judge Dee’s Mystery'

I personally enjoyed this drama and finished it in just a few days. At first, I hesitated to watch because I didn’t find the male lead attractive. But I still gave it a try. In the end, it was able to keep me interested until the end. For me, this was a good drama. It made me question moral standards sometimes. I kept thinking about what was right and what was wrong while watching this drama, especially in the later episodes. This drama kept me wondering for days about things happening in the real world, about human emotions - greed, anger, ignorance, dislike, love, desire, hatred. It wasn’t as bad as others said. The plot is engaging, with a good balance of suspense, drama, and romance. The storyline progresses at a steady pace, keeping the viewers hooked till the end. The unexpected plot twists add an element of surprise, making the drama all the more intriguing. This deserved a higher rating.

Easy & Light, Lost the Charm Towards the End

Overall, the first few episodes is what made the story really stick out, with the descriptive cutscenes of Yoonseo cooking and the dynamic between the two from within his origin of how they met and why he started cooking.

The introduction of the secondary love interest (intern) was okay, but I generally dislike when a mc has to be spoon fed every ounce of advice by another character. The intern and Dohoon’s conversations together were basically better developed than the actual main couples and they gave the intern so much unnecessary screen time with the advice and prying of the relationship.

The main conflict isn’t that bad, just makes you cringe a little with how cliché it is, especially with the ex and then the intern conspiring against Yoonseo which was annoying. I actually like how food was the main result of the conflict, though seeming childish, it is the center of their relationship where Yoonseo is able to show his love and affection for Dohoon.

To conclude, their relationship was not well developed. If they gave more time to developing the gradual connection Dohoon began to feel with Yoonseo instead of the intern and ex plotline, I would’ve enjoyed it more. It is an easy watch with a charming food quality, but the overall relationship of the MCs is what fell flat as it could’ve been expanded on way more.

Be polite or.....

I am trying hard to figure out whether this is a short film or the first episode of a series. The producers are asking for support in order to make new episodes in the multiverse!

The story is simple: when Te wakes up after a nap at the lakeside, he finds out his shoes are gone so he goes looking for the thief. The first person he meets is wearing shoes very much like his own so he gets so angry that that person hits him and he finds himself back in time, rebooted to the beginning of the conversation. The reboot happens a few times until he is politely asking about the missing shoes. Eventually, it turns out that the reboots were just a bad dream!

Parallel universes are an intriguing concept: here the different outcomes of the same situation were shown as if they were a dream. Be nice or you risk to miss out on important things: like a new and solid relationship!

The actors are super cute and they work well together even though they are obviously rather inexperienced which shows. In the end, even though a dream theory is delivered, a doubt remains. The drama is filmed and written well: there is a cute scene when Te trips and falls on the other guy also called Te, we see a heart shaped cloud in the sky! Tropes done well are priceless!

All in all, this is a cute short watch!

Super Cringefest that's only fun if you watch with friends and laugh together

If I have to use one word to describe “Playboyy”, it would be CONSISTENT. How can a drama be so CONSISTENTLY cringey, sappy, nonsensical with poor acting all throughout the 14 episodes??? That in itself is an amazing feat.

I debated whether to rate this lower than my lowest rated drama “Coffee & Vanilla”. I finally decided to give this a whopping 4.0 just because of the entertainment value. So, now it’s my second lowest rated drama. Watch this with an open mind and enjoy the ride. Nothing makes sense!!!

A few quick thoughts as I don’t even know how to write a proper review:

1. BAD acting all around. I was hoping they would get better, but nope, it’s one of the worst-acted dramas I’ve ever seen.
Well, at least some guys are hot and have nice bodies.
2. I am fine with all the sex and the different fetishes, fantasies, etc. In fact, I wanted the drama to go bolder and more explicit. 3. It ended up wanting to be unique but not quite achieving that. All the sexy scenes are just cringey.
4. I also cringe every time the random English dialogs pop up out of nowhere.
5. Too many names and I don’t remember who’s who. I barely recognize all of their faces. Gotta go with the nicknames.
6. There are some crazy outfits worn in the drama, especially by Nant.
7. I wonder if the actors all get boxes of underwear as part of their deals. There’s so much product placement in this drama.
8. I quite liked the romance between Zouey and Teena (Greek god) in the beginning, but then they disappeared after they got together, and became the most boring pair. The drama threw in a twist in the end and then gave you the worst writing ever.
9. What the heck is that ending??? Is there going to be a season 2? Did the drama run out of money to write a complete season 1? The screenwriter got to be fired.

Unfortunately, I did not join any watch parties. This would be an amazing drama to watch with friends and laugh about it. Do I recommend it? Definitely NOT unless you have nothing better to do, or you just want a cringefest to laugh with your friends.

beautiful

This was amazing. From start to finish, I am amazed at how such a great job both the cast and the production team did. Cinematography, costumes, colors, historical touch, plot, acting... everything was a pleasure to the eyes. Seeing Thai culture so vividly made me realize how rich and beautiful it actually is. To be fair, I don't know much about Thai history or traditional art. After watching this, I am intrigued to learn more.

I expected the story to be good too, but I would never guess the plot would be that detailed and exciting! I really enjoyed it. MileApo's chemistry was of course cherry on top. However, if you expect any romance or BL, just don't. There is no romance, yet it never feels lacking because the plot is just so good. Be On Cloud sure knows how to do their job. Especially, if you are into period movies and looking for some traditional elements, you can't miss this.

We are each others’ number one, for all eternity

I’ve been spoiled and read several warnings about this show yet I still decided to brace it and see it for myself. Ahh yes, the reviews are all right, this drama hurts me so much. That’s why it has been raining so much since the pilot episode because they surely left us in tears. It was a good cry from a wonderful yet sorrowful love story.

I was not expecting it to be in a supernatural and mystery genre. It was a short yet the most meaningful time for the main couple. The unforeseen accident was miserable but a miracle happened, Koichi became a living corpse and froze his own time. I love the creative reasoning behind the meaning of Eternal Yesterday as the title of the drama. The main characters are always and will always be living from the precious memories of the past. The recollection of Mitchan's moments with Koichi.

From the beginning until the end, this show never failed to burst me into tears. All the characters are so lovely and the way that they produced the story of the main characters is just heartwarming. I might be too late to finish this story but I will never regret sinking myself into one of the greatest romances that I’ve seen in all BLs.

“You’re still my number one. I love you the most.”

“Mitchan, thank you for the miracle.”

I think this movie is good, kousuke yonehara act very well. The way he expose the sadness of character make me want to watch this film over and over especially the scene they brake up
Also I like the r-18 scene too but not with that music =)))) because I can not hear the breath of them when they have seg and this make that scene kinda fake through ?
