A charming series with a few problematic aspects
I started watching An Incurable Case of Love because of the actor playing the main role, after his performance in Glass Heart. I don’t think this will be the last series I watch with him, because he’s really great :D and I’ll definitely follow his future projects. As for the series itself… it’s a sweet and charming story about the innocent, initially platonic love of a young girl for a doctor who fascinates her. It’s really love mixed with fascination, maybe even a kind of idol-like admiration. Overall, the idea of being fascinated by an older, experienced doctor is understandable, but I do have a few issues with this series, and I think the age difference is actually the smallest problem here.
Maybe I’ll start with the fact that the main character’s behavior doesn’t match that of a 22-year-old, but rather a teenager, which, from what I’ve seen, other commenters have also pointed out. Some of her behaviors are very childish. The second issue is that three men fall in love with her at the same time. I get the whole rivalry thing and all, but without offending our heroine—how is that even possible? Two middle-aged men plus a millionaire all fall in love with a young, not particularly sharp nurse. Of course, she is sweet and charming, kind and empathetic, but she is also childish, not very perceptive, makes mistakes she shouldn’t be making as a trained nurse, and overall the whole millionaire subplot seems quite unnecessary to me. Similarly, I find it unconvincing that she was the one sent for overseas training—like, why exactly? What was the selection process? Maybe I missed something?
And finally, my biggest issue with this series, the cherry on top:
Who would want—or react with a smile—if their loved one called them a donkey? Even at the altar? Was this mistranslated? It’s constantly either “donkey” or “blockhead,” used at work, then thrown around as a joke, and in the end said to his future wife? What kind of relationship is that, where one person treats the other in such a patronizing way? Of course, I understand it’s a series and not real life, but what I value in series is a reflection of reality. If a 22-year-old falls in love with a 33-year-old doctor and, completely blinded by love, marries him, then after 10 years, when she matures, she’ll be a completely different woman… It’s strange that a grown man is attracted to a girl with such childish and immature behavior.
So, I rate it—perhaps a bit generously—an 8.

Gore, Revenge and Highschool Drama x100
It is not really my usual type of show but I watched the earlier seasonsand liked them well enough, so was intrigued to see what this season would bring. Before watching the show I would recommend looking up trigger warnings. There is alot of scenes and concepts in the show that, I think most people, would call disturbing. It´s alot of blood and gore but also situations that can potentially be triggering, especially if you identify as a woman. It is all fitting to the plot of the show and it does not feel like it´s there just for shock value, but it can be pretty disturbing.
The plot is basically contained to seperate stories, episode to episode, with an overarching theme. Each episode plot focused on some kind of revenge. It can be a little confusing at times but is overall pretty intresting and the revenge part is usually satisfying.
None of the characters are not really likeable, by nature of the show. I liked Nanno as well as her helper/admirer. Nanno always felt like she was in controll and knew exactly what the deal was, which can sometimes lead to a character to feel smug and not likeable, but Nanno just felt confident and secure.
Overall this show is not one of the best shows I´ve ever seen but if the triggers don´t bother you and you got some time to spare I don´t think watching this show would be wasted time.

Sweet and cute done absolutely right!
This show is a unicorn. It sparkles, it's unbelievably cute and absolutely one of a kind. This level of cuteness is usually 100% cringe to me. But the delivery from Teetee and Por is perfectly balanced. They complete each other. So although the story itself is not very substantial, there is a message here: You need a supportive and safe partner who, even if they don't understand you, will try anyway.Another take away is that communication can be very attractive indeed. The way Qi and Duang try to understand and know eachother is amazing.
And who expected that these cuties would be able to switch to hot and bothered is a millisecond ?
It was agony waiting for a new episode every week. And every episode made me so happy.
Absolutely a masterpiece in the college genre, and I'm putting it high in my re-watch list.

I had to write this
I generally don’t review, I only comment on this site. I saw what the reviews were trending and I had to even out its score. I don’t know where they found these two guys, but I was so completely wrapped up in the believability and the chemistry between these two guys, that I have it in my minds schedule to watch it again. I gotta tell you that I was a little confused by the storytelling, and that it was a little bit convoluted, broken, and hard to follow. If however, you make a little effort and backtrack a little from time to time, you’ll be glad that you did. One of the leads had sort of a consistent facial expression, but when you look like him, I think you can get away with it. I mean, he got away with it! I would love to see these guys in another show. Hey, don’t get me wrong. I think this kind of plot device is a little played out. I think the whole forgetting 10 years of your life is a little unbelievable, maybe it happens but I think it mostly happens to 90-year-old people after a stroke and not hot 28-year-old Korean guys. People can beat me up over this all they want, but one of the things that I did like about this was the minimal use of makeup. I understand why K-pop bands wear makeup, but I don’t understand why they put these guys in make up when they’re supposed to be depleting real people, so hate on that all you want. These two guys were beautiful and I’m sure they were wearing stage makeup, but they weren’t overly done and I felt that it made the show a lot more comfortable to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
PAST , PRESENT N FUTURE ALL IN ONE
I’m watching because of Li Yun Rui. After seeing his rebirth drama, I searched for his past works on Viu, and since they’re available there, I decided to watch them. It’s interesting to see the difference between his ancient and modern dramas. His eyes, though small, are very expressive, and his smile is so cute, almost as if I can see dimples when he smiles.Usually, I don’t write much, so I might only jot down a few sentences. Even though I disliked the bad characters in the drama, I have to admit they sometimes make the show more interesting.

The Classic Romcom That Everyone Should Rewatch
I just did a rewatch one of my first kdrama. It made me appreciate this drama more looking at their property, stage, styling, to music, the filming team really did an impressive job with the korean modern monarch concept that ascend beyond time.I really love how the palace maid corporate the uniform blazer with the traditional belt and keeping the hair braid with ribbon / daenggi. fl's fashion is iconic and she often wears a modern fusion hanbok. how they shot within the palace and then the traditional bgm tune in made the scene more enchanting. of course the iconic stuffed bear too that is always the chapter highlight.
somehow older drama made more thoughtful craftmanship and i miss that so i often turn back to the classic. i rated it 7.5 before only focusing on the story, but my best decision was rewatching this and noticing even the tiniest details the team had worked on. solid 9!

CAN I HAVE 30 MORE EPISODES?
I've been patiently waiting a year for their series; I was there the first day and now I gotta accept we'll not gonna see more eps. So, to say I'm sad it's just the least. This show has become really special to me, maybe the fact that I'm a pttp fan helped with that but I really think It was an amazing series and not just Teeteepor, the rest of the cast deserves all that hype just the same!
Of course I still have my doubts about some things...like Qin's parents' storyline; I probably didn't expect it to be resolved so easily. Or Wave's limited screen time. So, did he or didn't he have a partner? I got excited about the Cherry/Tong situation and that was it? I definitely expected to know a little more about his character but that didn't happened.
But I'm definitely going to miss these months. If you follow the cast and pttp(you should)on socmed you know how fun and special these months have been and now I'm simply too attached to let duangqin go(I think i'll keep rewatching dwy until my final days)
To my dear por and teetee: THANK YOU. I don't think anyone could play duang and qin like you did. I'm so proud of you and I'm already happily awaiting your next project. I LOVE PTTP AND DUANG WITH YOU SO MUCH!!!

This was so bad!!
The music was way too loud, quite anoying and it overpowered the voices. And weird loud eating and walking sounds...And OMG! The fake tears! And the mother who was just a doll, so fake.
The butler is extremely handsy touchy, but if the master wants to touch him he backs away and looks very afraid.
Very bad acting. They are a couple in real life, but there was hardly any chemistry and even the kisses were bad.
Why are the thoughts in Japanese???
Please don't waste your time watching this....

Overall it was good but could have been better especially with TimPai
I am someone who really likes contract marriage, scam marriage, forced marriage etc so obviously this one made me have high expectations and to some point it also met my expectations. Especially the initial episodes where Tim and Yu are scamming Pai and North. I totally, absolutely loved the writing that we had for YuNorth. They had this wedding and then he realized he's a scammer and Yu makes up for it, immediately apologized and divorced to show north he loved him and accepted all the punishment. It was really touching. The problems with his mother was also handled perfectly with Yu chosing north over his mother. But in case of TimPai the story kinda went downhill after the scam was revealed. Everything was perfect , tim realized he liked pai and decided to start fresh but unfortunately that doesn't happen. The thing that bothered me was Pai gave up his entire life to protect Tim, he gave up on his career and family but what did Tim do? Instead of apologizing and making up like Yu did he instead harrasses Pai and exploits his weakness. He does make up for things later but those 2 or 3 episodes where he is just forcing Pai to stay married was annoying. Worse Pai's family who Pai dedicated his life to didn't bother looking for him or checking on him until Tim asked them to🙄 like wtf. Even Tim's family was the same. They abandon their son who was just out of college with a huge debt and leave the country and then blame him for becoming a scammer. They didn't even show up at the wedding. So that's kinda where they're at.
I felt TimPai's story was not used to it's full potential. Although Mark did make me cry a lot during this series. I felt it could be a lot better cz i was here for the drama, begging and yearning after the scam reveal but that was kinda meh.
Overall it's a good watch but could be amazing. Gmmtv just sucks at screenplay

Please watch this and support Teetee and Por!
Ive never given a review before however i feel like this is one of those series that everyone needs to watch.I also want to say i even read the novel for this series which ive never done for a series before either!!
This series means everything to me,i loved every second of it. Some people may not like this series but i think everyone should atleast try to watch this even if they may not end up liking this.
Teetee and Por did such a good job for their first main role series. I hope they get the love they deserve and i hope the other actors get recognised too!
To me this series is one of few i could rewatch a million times without getting bored. It may be the only series which i could watch again and again.
When this series ended i bawled my eyes out which ive never done for a series before. This series means so much to me that it feels weird letting it go.
Even though this has ended it will always have a special place in my heart.
Idk if this series will be my favourite forever but i feel like i need to share this with everyone. I hope that Teetee and Por get a new series and people continue to love them because they have done such a good job on this series so i think they really deserve all the love they are getting and so much more!
I love u 'Duang with you' , I will miss u so much. It was so fun whilst it lasted. I hope Duang and Qin are together forever. <3
I really recommend this series to everyone. I hope u all decide to watch this and u all love it as much as i do.
Thank you for reading!

It’s watchable.
I really did enjoy this because I dug leads. they’re both extremely likable actors, even though they have the zero range. I’d imagine if they keep it up they’ll get better. Po is literally the most one dimensional character in history of the world. The guy literally had two facial expressions the entire show. There was one scene, which is not a spoiler don’t worry, where they go to his apartment and he has clothes everywhere that he has to put away. Typical thing for me, but for him, it was a little strange since he wore the same two things the entire show. I’m not 100% sure when he wore any of the other clothes. These guys had incredible chemistry together, but I did find myself rooting for the other guy for the first half of the show, because believe it or not, all three people had similar chemistry. It would be really hard to choose if I was that guy. You know years ago a bunch of friends and I went to see this movie that was called This is my life. It was written by North Ephraim and it was a movie about a comedian. We both walked out of there, thinking this might’ve been a good movie if they would’ve actually had a comedian play the role of a comedian. There were plenty of people out there at the time, of that age, that were hilarious, but they chose to cast a woman who was basically an Actress and was not funny at all. This was kind of the problem I had with this show. There were plenty of established groups that they could’ve inserted this character into, but they ended up putting together a bunch of guys that seemed to have zero musical talent at all. Their voices were horrible, their songs were bad, and none of it made any sense at all. There’s no way that the song that they sung would’ve gone to number one. The production company could’ve very easily cast and existing tpop group, and then just inserted William into it. All in all this was a pretty cool show. I didn’t binge it or anything, I 100% kept coming back to it, I guess that would be my review. It’s 100% worth going back to 0% worth binging. Was this review helpful to you?
A Heartwarming Journey That Feels a Bit Rushed
Family by Choice is a warm, character-driven drama that leans heavily into the idea that family isn’t always about blood, but about the people who choose to stay. The story follows three individuals who grow up together under unusual circumstances, forming a bond that feels closer than most biological families. The drama is structured across different life stages childhood, youth, and adulthood which helps in showing how their relationships evolve over time. The strongest aspect of the drama is definitely the family dynamic. The relationship between Kim San Ha, Yun Ju Won, and Kang Hae Jun is the emotional core, and many of their moments together feel comforting and heartfelt. The father figures, especially Ju Won’s dad, truly stand out. His performance brings warmth, stability, and emotional depth that elevates the entire drama. The friendship between the parents also adds a grounded layer, showing how support systems are built through shared struggles.
The acting overall is solid, but one thing that didn’t fully work for me was the teenage phase. I found it a bit hard to believe them as actual teenagers, especially Ju Won. Her mannerisms and delivery felt a bit too mature at times, which made those early years slightly less immersive. San Ha gets some leeway since his character is written as more emotionally reserved and mature, and Hae Jun manages to bring in expressive energy that fits better, but Ju Won’s portrayal in that phase didn’t completely convince me.
When it comes to character arcs, there are both strengths and gaps. San Ha’s quiet pain and internal struggles are present, but not explored deeply enough. His trauma, especially involving his mother, feels like it needed more space and conversation. Similarly, Hae Jun’s storyline with his biological father and parts of his past are introduced but not fully unpacked, which leaves a sense of incompleteness.
The romance is another mixed area. While the main couple does get a happy ending, the shift from a sibling-like bond to romance feels rushed and not entirely convincing. The emotional buildup, particularly from Ju Won’s side, could have been handled with more depth. In contrast, Hae Jun and Dal’s relationship feels more organic. You can see the gradual development of feelings, hesitation, and acceptance, which makes their arc more believable and satisfying.
One thing the drama does well is keeping things relatively clean and focused. It avoids unnecessary love triangles and doesn’t rely on forced drama, which makes it an easier and more pleasant watch. The pacing is generally smooth, and the time jumps feel natural, though the shorter runtime means some slice-of-life moments and deeper emotional beats are sacrificed.
Visually and tonally, the drama is comforting. It balances emotional scenes with lighter, everyday moments, creating a soft and easy viewing experience. The themes of belonging, support, and chosen family come through clearly, and there are definitely moments that hit emotionally, especially those centered around home and parental love.
In conclusion, while Family by Choice stands well on its own as a heartfelt and comforting drama, the comparison with Go Ahead is almost inevitable. The original has the advantage of time and depth, which makes the emotional arcs feel more layered and immersive. That said, this version still has its own charm and is definitely worth watching. If you are primarily a K-drama viewer, you will likely enjoy this take for its pacing and tone. And if you are curious about the story in a more detailed and emotionally expansive form, then Go Ahead is absolutely worth checking out as well.
Personally, I watched this almost 1.5 years after finishing Go Ahead, which really helped me see it with fresh eyes and appreciate it for what it is rather than constantly comparing. Both versions offer something valuable, and honestly, both are worth experiencing in their own way.

Not bad, but, not that good either.
I know not to trust the high ratings on MDL and yet I fall for it every single time. I guess I thought that because this is a new pairing the reviews wouldn't be biased and I am not judging people's preferences here I'm really not, but a 9.1 rating for this is a bit much. There is nothing new or exciting to this plot, just an average University BL that follows pretty much the standard script. Both mains are extremely unlikeable, Duang is annoying and Quin is rude, obnoxious, cold, jealous and insecure for absolutely no reason, the side characters are not so bad but they are barely in the story, they're just there for the sake of being there mostly. I did laugh a lot at the first couple of episodes, despite Duang's childishness, the actor is so cute that I was willing to put up with it, but it's way too much the episodes are long and nothing interesting happens, nothing. I wanted to finish it mostly to see if there is a logical explanation for why Quin is so awful, but I don't care anymore, my guess is neglectful parents and maybe physical abuse 🤷♀️ which really sucks but still...
I am dropping this, it's just not for me.
