Definitely worth a watch and a re-watch
Not a single bad episode, the acting and casting are amazing, the cinematography is phenomenal and it‘s a well thought out and brilliantly executed story. Only towards the end did some of the storylines confuse me. The ending is not ideal I don‘t think, they could have wrapped everything up more nicely, and especially give the princess at least one more scene but oh well…Definitely worth a watch and a re-watch!!

The main couple’s acting was good—Net performed well. But JJ didn’t come out that well. I am a netjj supporter but JJ’s acting felt like to improve , the comedy sequence like nothing to feel fun Also, the friendship shown in this drama didn’t work for me at all. Even though it’s supposed to be a friendship, it didn’t feel convincing. I’ve watched other dramas like khemjira , duang with you the friendships there felt so natural and worked well. But here, I didn’t feel originality from it.
The same goes for the main couple. Even though it’s just the first episode, they acted well, but still something was missing.
Overall, it felt like a disappointment because I didn’t get any emotional “feel” from the first episode. I didn't spread any hate on the series it just my pov because i started the 1 st episode with so much expectation but I disappointed so that's why

This series premise was so engaging
I watched some clips of this series when it was airing and I resolved to watch it when it was done.it was everything I thought it would be and some more.
these are the things I liked in no particular order:
1. The plot premise (unique and engaging)
2. The cinematography
3. The colour grading/ambience
4. The acting of the cast
5. The ending
I believe that the ending is the best possible scenario because personally I believe that not every series has to have an entirely happy ending sometimes it's logically impossible to have them live happily ever after with everyone getting what they want especially when the series was an emotional roller coaster like this one and everytime you think you know something, they reveal another tibit and you're clueless again.
I really hope that if you had your reservations on watching this series please set it aside and watch it without romantic or illogical ideals because this series is real, raw and unlikely to spare your feelings.

Love it at first watch! Intelligent characters and good acting!
just disappointed for near the end of the story, especially on last eps (eps 36), there’s rarely interaction between wei shao and qiao man, just right at the end not more that 5 minutes☹️ but overall is good! i like the storyline and how smart the female lead character is also male lead that is not easy to be fooled by others. Their acting are so goooodd!!! This is my first time watching chinese drama in historical era. i am mostly a korean drama watcher, about the war and government issues may not as complicated and heavy as korean one but still acceptable. it seems easy to win in the war in chinese drama. Was this review helpful to you?
A gorgeous & wild ride in the beginning but falls flat at the end
My first thoughts were that this drama is highly entertaining, with gorgeous production & heart-stopping action scenes. It was therefore easy to be swept up in the hype as this show started to air, to the point where it was difficult to view it with a critical eye.The story begins with a carefully constructed introduction to the life & character of 19 y/o Fan ChangYu, the orphaned daughter of a pig butcher, carrying on her father's profession to support her young sister & adoptive aunt & uncle. She possesses extraordinary physical strength & is highly intelligent in spite of being poorly literate. She rescues the injured & severely weakened fugitive, Yan Zheng, & their developing relationship anchors up to 2/3 of the show. Past identities are slowly revealed as political instability & war drive them from an idyllic village life into the battlefield. ChangYu's fierce independence & heart, always staying true to herself while having her world turned upside down, is what made this drama so mesmerizing to watch. Her identity changes only in the way others view her, but she never loses sight of her own self.
However, like too many high end productions before it, the last 10 eps of the drama slammed to a crawl with no further growth in the personal relationship between the main characters. The writing & acting seem to have fallen off the cliff & we don't gain anything in any character's story as so much time is spent featuring the ineptness of the emperor. In fact, ChangYu almost fades into the background which is so puzzling after dominating the story for 30 eps. What began with so much heart just simply ran out of steam toward the end. All the time spent building up the secondary characters also came to a grinding halt, with the main villian(s) falling (literally) too quickly & easily. I was ready to give this drama a high rating but unfortunately the show dropped the ball far too soon.

From the moment I finished the novel last year to when Pursuit of Jade finished airing, it has been a long wait.. This has been one of my most anticipated dramas of 2026.. Well, did it live up to my expectations?? It’s sort of muddy waters.. Because I loved the drama, even though it wasn’t exactly what I pictured.. I just felt it could have been more.. The Lin’an arc like most people said, was the best part of the drama.. They took their time developing the relationship and the romance, building the characters.. It was all done very well.. But once the story moved out of the town, it all just got messy.. Not because the script was poor, but because of the storytelling.. It wasn’t nearly as gripping as the novel.. Still, it was a pure delight to watch the main leads and their journey on screen..Need to mention this.. Honestly, they did Zhang Ling He’s character pretty dirty once he went back to being the Marquis of Wu’an.. All he really had were some witty BGM moments and slow mo scenes but nothing with real weight or charisma to match the reputation of a ruthless marquis.. Not to mention the lack of screen time.. They should have utilized him more and given him scenes that showed the Marquis in his full glory.. And the war?? The battle scenes were very poorly done.. Not one noteworthy fight.. Add the bad CGI to that.. It was disappointing.. Even so, ZLH still did an outstanding job..
Tian Xi Wei.. She was really, really good as Fan Changyu.. Her character development from a common woman to a General felt rushed, but it wasn’t bad.. I think she got better action scenes than ZLH.. And her attires were really beautiful.. She gave a brilliant performance, the camera really loves her..
The rest of the cast are incredibly phenomenal.. Special shoutout to Deng Kai and Snow Kong.. I really didn’t expect them to be this good.. Especially Deng Kai, he was terrific.. The others were solid too.. They are another big reason why the drama worked so well.. When you have a good story to tell, it helps when the people telling it are all doing it well..
Okay, the romance.. I gotta say, it was something else.. The chemistry and intensity between the main leads were just amazing.. If you have watched it, you would know.. There was that sense of yearning right from the beginning, then the sexual tension building up.. And the intimate scenes in the last phase of the drama?? Intense, really intense.. I am just a bit disappointed that the “I can’t do it anymore” scene didn’t make it to the final cut.. If you have seen the leaks, you will know what I am talking about..
Slightly off topic, but I have seen quite a lot of edits of Sui Yuan Qing, romanticizing his character.. He is the same person who slaughtered an entire town and let his men rape those women, serious psychopathic issues.. And people are making edits for him.. Like, how?? why??
The cinematography was okay.. I mean the overreliance on CGI/AI kind of ruined it.. I don’t know.. The visuals should have been better.. The music was good.. It sort of fit the tone of the drama and elevated a lot of scenes..
Now, the middle phase of longer shows are usually boring.. Because the writers have to tie everything together to set up the final phase and sometimes they rush through it.. Here though, they managed to minimize the damage.. The pace never feels draggy or cramped.. My mind did wander at times but not enough for me to call it boring..
The last phase, storytelling wise, was good.. It was set up for an epic conclusion.. But nothing really happened.. We didn’t get a war or a proper battle, not even one good action sequence.. Everything got resolved so quickly.. Why?? Why couldn’t you give us an epic conclusion?? You had the cast and the story right there..
Overall, despite all its flaws this is a 9 for me.. Because it just worked where it mattered.. I loved the romance and the chemistry.. Also the yearning, the evolving relationships.. Loved the main leads. The Lin’an arc was just bliss to watch.. The drama didn’t fail in any way, it just could have been more.. I had a great time.. I was happy..
P.S. Read the novel.. It’s the best way to enjoy the story..

Cute funny (Shounen ai) BL
For those who are unaware the what shounen ai is. Shounen ai is a genre of anime and manga that focuses on romantic and emotional relationships between male characters, emphasizing emotional connection over sexual content.Definition and Origins
Shounen ai, literally translating to "boys' love" in Japanese, historically referred to stories depicting romantic relationships between male characters, often targeting a female audience. In Japan, the term originally described relationships between adolescent males or between a boy and an adult man, but by the 1970s, it evolved to focus on romantic connections between bishonen (beautiful, often androgynous male characters), regardless of age. Unlike yaoi, which emphasizes sexual content, shounen ai prioritizes emotional intimacy and the development of meaningful bonds
Now that that is out the way. I found this to be a cute funny manga and this live action being and page by page was nice to watch. The episodes are about 20-25 minutes long. The actors for ML did a wonderful job of presenting their characters. It is meant to be silly and fun which it was. I would rewatch as one of those mood changer show. If in a bad mood it will definitely pick your mood up with all the goofy nonsense.

Exploring Jade
From the very first episode this drama hooks you in, with stunning visuals, quaint setting and endearing characters who pull you in with every second that you watch. Each episode builds the love story between the main lead characters Fan Chang Yu (FL) and Xie Zheng / Yan Zheng (ML) in a stunning and exciting way. From the edge of death, to the marketplace, to the frontlines of the battlefield and the midst of palace drama and court intrigue our main leads fight through it all. The "Pursuit of Jade is aptly titled because this story follows their search for something fragile, true and impossible to replace. I highly recommend this drama if you like stunning visuals, strong lead females, moving story lines and fantastic actors. The main con I have about this drama is that there weren't enough episodes. I think if there had been 5-10 more episodes some of the storylines regarding secondary and background characters that seemed a bit rushed might have come together with a bit more polish. Additionally while the SL couple is stunning in visuals and acting ability there came a point where their repeated scenes did more to detract from my enjoyment of the show than add to it so I believe their screen time could have been reduced and been shared along with the MLs or been given to help flush out the backstory of some of the court politics.
Overall I did thoroughly enjoy this drama and will be rewatching

The Countdown to Confusion
You’ll want to stay focused and pay close attention to details while watching Ritual ~ but even then, you’ll likely be left with questions. The ambiguity is intentional, shaping an experience that leans as much into confusion as it does into intrigue. At its core, the film is a descent into the strange, but more importantly, into the gradual unraveling of mental health. It’s a slow burn that sustains itself through a constant sense of tension and the unexpected, keeping you on edge while pulling you deeper into its unsettling world.
The recurring countdown acts as a clever anchor, maintaining your engagement despite the film’s oddities. It creates a quiet urgency that keeps you watching, even as things grow more obscure. And through it all, you’ll find yourself wanting to understand these characters ~ who they are, what they’re going through, and where this strange journey is leading them.

Overall, I like this series, but the plot armor is too much. I find it hard to binge-watch the first three episodes. I keep doing something else instead of continuing the show. I feel it’s not engaging. The plot shifts from one to another; it feels like two different series. One has to solve his own problem and also deal with the main event of the show. I think it has potential here, but the showcase just doesn’t keep it up well for me. Some characters have too much screen time. I thought they would hold up to the plot, but they just die easily, and some characters just disappear and no one questions it. The things I like here are that they show how unfair the law can be for women. The rapist can get away with light compensation while the victims live in hell forever. Another thing I like is that they point out how unfair it is that family members of the criminal get blamed for what they didn’t do.Was this review helpful to you?

The Most Beautiful Drama Ever "Pursuit of Jade"
This drama has been lifechanging and I mean it.I finished this drama ago but was suffering from post-drama depression that I never wrote this review. It was that good, I literally couldn't watch anything else for days.
Lets start off with the Actors/Characters, Fan Changyu is hands down one of my favorite cdrama characters ever. Shes strong, resilient, kind, stands up for herself, and is independent. She doesn't need a man to do what she wants, and the fact that Xie Zheng respects that and only wants to be her partner makes the dynamic SO GOOD. I was not really skeptical of Tian Xiwei playing Fan Changyu because she played a somewhat similar character in Moonlit Reunion and rocked the girl boss vibe. Zhang Linghe I knew would absolutely play this role well, as it fits him so well. Their chemistry was also blazing, both of them can create chemistry with trees at this point especially ZLH. As for side characters, first special shout out to Lin Muran because He playing Su Yuanqing SO SO well. For a rising actor he played the psychopath to perfection. I'm deeply awaiting his new works now. Kong Xueer playing Qian Qian also fits so well, I really loved the second couple Qi Min and Qian Qian had a really toxic love but it fit so good with the drama. Every single couple in this drama was done well. I also love that there was not really any love rivals, no extra drama. As for family dynamic, I loved the fact that Fan Changyu turned the bandits into the xie brothers. She turned them into good guys and they became like brothers after. They were all so fun together.
Next Cinematography, because WOW it was absolutely beautiful. From the start to the end the vibe was done perfect, and the visuals were absolutely gorgeous. Speaking of visuals, can we talk about how every single actor in this drama is absolutely beautiful, Tian Xiwei and Zhang Linghe also looked extra good here, I can see why they are trending on fire in China right now. Plot wise, there definitely was a few plot holes here and there but their really not that obvious and didn't affect the drama at all, so i'd say this was done well. Last but not least the music, maybe its just me but the intro music before every episode fits so well with the drama, it goes from the city to all the battle which is representing Xie Zheng because hes born in this world of battle and death. Then it transfers to more hopeful music which represents Fan Changyu coming into his life, blooming like a flower. Maybe I'm just talking nonsense at this point, but in my opinion it represents the drama so well. Anyways, at the end of the day this drama is 100% worth watching. The high MDL rating and all the hype its getting everywhere is 1000% deserved.
GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW..

I am delighted???
I've been waiting for this series for a really long time. I'm a fan of the novel and I really had high hopes for it, but... I didn't expect something so amazing!!! I really like everything so far! The way the director introduced us to the first episode, the impression he left after that scene... I really want more! I can't wait!!Acting???? Dear friends, Net has long been known to be a great actor, but JJ... I fell in love with him, with his acting, from the very first second. I'm truly impressed by how well he plays. As for Latte and Kim, I really like their work so far too!! We'll definitely see more of their great acting in the next episodes. I can't wait.💞
please let's show huge support to LUAT he deserves the best series of 2026!!🤩🫶

Touching and Heart-Warming Drama That Will Also Tear You Apart
This drama touched me in ways that no other drama has. Watching the sacrifices that the parents made for their children made me close my laptop and call my parents immediately! The cinematography of Jeju Island were beautiful and I loved how it focused on everyday life and relationships. Some parts did feel a bit slow and dragged in the middle, and I wish a few side characters got more development, but it didn’t ruin the overall experience for me. Also can we TALK about Park Bo Gum’s character because he is the definition of a green flag - THE WAY HE JUMPED OFF THE BOAT AND SWAM BACK TO SHORE TO REUNITE WITH HIS WIFE IM DEAD!!! like where do we find men like that?? 😩Was this review helpful to you?

I'M OBSESSED WITH ARNOLDTUA KSKSHSJSJSJS
I AM absolutely losing my mind over JossGawin as ArnoldTua in Only Friends: Dream On. Their chemistry is INSANE 😭❤️🔥 in the best way possible, like you can literally feel the tension, the history, and the emotions in every single scene they share. It's not just about romance, there's longing, confusion, comfort, and that messy best-friends-to-lovers energy, situationship and friendzone label that hits you right in the heart. Joss plays Arnold with this golden-retriever vibe that is so warm, hardworking, and unintentionally affectionate, while Gawin delivers Tua with so much quiet intensity and vulnerability. YOU CAN FEEL HOW DEEPLY HE CARES EVEN WHEN HE SAYS NOTHING OH MY GODD. And when they look at each other? JUST FEEL SO RIGHT! the eye contact alone deserves an award ISTG!!! 😭🙌. Their performances feel natural, effortless, and emotionally charged, making ArnoldTua one of the most compelling dynamics. I genuinely believe JossGawin understood their characters perfectly(Actually, no, Joss was just a little confused about Arnold's character LMAO 😭 A's does have character development but it's moving at a snail's pace xixixixi), and they bring so much depth and authenticity that every small interaction feels meaningful. If you love slow-burn tension, emotional storytelling, and chemistry that makes your heart race, this pairing is absolutely worth watching I guarantee they are the most sweet pair on the show!!. I'm so excited to see how their relationship grows because the potential here is HUGE, and honestly, ArnoldTua already has me completely hooked and emotionally invested HSJAKSJAKAK 😖🙌❤️🔥Was this review helpful to you?
