When Idol Life Meets Murder Mystery
Idol I turned out to be an enjoyable watch. Going in, I expected the drama to focus mainly on the struggles of idols—the pressures from fans, companies, media scrutiny, and personal sacrifices. While those elements were present, the story leaned more heavily into a murder mystery, which was a surprising shift. One character who stood out strongly was the prosecutor. His actions often felt cruel and frustrating, making him easy to dislike. At times he seemed like a puppet following others without thinking for himself. However, toward the end, it was satisfying to see him finally stand up and do the right thing.
The mystery itself kept things interesting. I initially suspected the CEO or the manager, so the actual reveal came as a surprise. Although the thriller angle worked for entertainment, part of me still feels the drama could have explored the realistic struggles of idol life in greater depth.
The lighter moments also helped balance the tone. The fan-to-romantic angle felt slightly unnecessary, but it was still cute seeing her fangirl over her boyfriend. Overall, the drama blends real idol pressures with a mystery storyline while keeping the atmosphere fun and watchable. It may not be groundbreaking, but it’s a solid one-time watch
Where Pain Meets Comfort: A Love That Learns to Breathe Again
Fourever your part 2 with a story that feels even more powerful than expected. Instead of simply continuing the series, it dives straight into an emotional journey that is both heartbreaking and deeply moving.Part 1 only gave brief glimpses of Tonfah and Typhoon, but those small moments were enough to leave a strong impression. I was especially curious about their relationship—why they seemed distant from each other and why their interactions felt so awkward at times. This part slowly begins to reveal the reasons behind those tensions.
Typhoon’s past is heartbreaking. The trauma he carries, his fear of the dark, and the loss of his sister have left him deeply broken. Instead of comfort, he faces blame from those around him, forcing him to deal with his grief alone, which makes his pain feel painfully real.
When Tonfah reenters Typhoon’s life, we begin to see a brighter side of Typhoon again. His presence makes Typhoon happier and more cheerful. However, because of problems caused by his father, Typhoon is forced to distance himself from Tonfah. Those scenes are especially painful to watch, as you can clearly see how much both of them are hurting.
Typhoon’s friends also play an important role in the story. They provide support and create a sense of belonging that contrasts with the loneliness Typhoon once experienced. Their encouragement helps him find the courage to choose what he truly wants and to pursue the person he loves.
Seeing familiar characters like Johan and North and Hill and Earth again adds an extra layer of nostalgia and joy for long-time viewers, making the world of Fourever You feel even more connected.
Overall, this part of the series delivers a touching mix of heartbreak, healing, and quiet hope, making the story both emotional and meaningful to watch.
“Let’s see where this story takes us.”
This series is unexpectedly good. From the very beginning, I could already sense that this one is going to be something distinctive. The plot feels completely new to me, and the visuals are absolutely stunning. Another Chinese BL that might turn out to be a really good one.Sometimes something fresh comes along and raises the bar higher. The dynamic between a gangster and a university student already feels intriguing, and I’m really curious to see how their chemistry unfolds over time. Since it’s only episode one, I won’t say much yet—but this one definitely caught my attention.
But if you’re wondering whether to watch it or not, then my honest answer is a big YES. Just leave everything else aside and give it a try. Let’s be honest—we’re not the kind of audience who only watches so-called masterpiece dramas all the time. Sometimes it’s simply about enjoying the journey. So why not try unfolding their story together?
Super cute finale that could / should have been integrated into the main serie
This little epilogue provide a super cute conclusion to the story of Hioki and Watarai. It has of course the same qualities as the original series. It was wholesome, and jealous Watarai is definitely a feast to be hold.I would recommend this to people that have enjoyed the main series. It is a must watch for the viewers, full of lovely moments that will make your heart melt.
A Solid Romance Bogged Down by Business
The leads were attracted to one another but very cautious: he'd been hurt by a bad relationship, and she'd discounted him as a playboy (which he was). Watching them overcome their initial resistance was as rewarding as their sarcastic banter with one another. The Good:
• The leads were both mature, sophisticated, and accomplished adults.
• The relationship was amazingly devoid of many drama tropes. There were love triangles, but neither allowed them to impede their love story. It was refreshing to see two adults acting like adults, trusting one another, and not allowing a wedge to be placed between them.
• I appreciated greatly that the FL gave the ML the benefit of the doubt once she was all in, and I loved that the ML trusted her to handle his infatuated admirer.
• The flirting was delightful.
The Bad:
• Investment banking and law aren't exactly riveting; there was a great deal of business in the drama that didn't interest me.
• The OST off-putting. It wasn't cohesive. The songs ranged from country/western to pop to Las Vegas lounge music.
• I expected the story to have a destination. The overriding theme was that the ML and FL worked themselves to death and neither was especially fulfilled with their jobs. I anticipated them finding new directions to take with their lives, and that didn't happen.
I added a half star for the chemistry between the couple.
Like the ambiguous tug of war of the leads
Watched this drama last year. Should i said Yuyin acting was getting better than her previous drama? Yes. I still select her drama based from my mood but this one was exception since Zhang Chi's performance always consistent. Both acting and production are excellent, with sophisticated aesthetics. The lead actors, compared to many previous versions, perfectly fit the roles, creating a strong chemistry. Yu Yin presents the character's resilience and vulnerability in layers. At first, it seems like only FL is trapped in the cage but soon, it's ML, cage; and finally, the world itself is a cage, and the process of breaking free is also a process of mutual healing between ML and FL. At the beginning, I completely understood FL and thought ML too obsessive and terrifying; but in the middle, I gradually understood ML. He was born only because of the word "suspected," had that kind of family in the alternate storyline, and was forgotten by everyone in the main storyline. Only FL could prove his existence, understand him, and see him, so he could only cling to it tightly. FL is also equally strong. Her journey from disliking ML to falling in love with him is portrayed very realistically, from initial attraction and hesitation to restraint, giving up, and finally, true love. The ambiguous, tug-of-war between the two characters is absolutely captivating.
The cons about this drama the relationship between the leads was not completely unfolded yet and too short.
Recommended if you like ambiguous tug of war of the leads
A Sweet Little Historical Surprise. Low Hype, high enjoyment
The Royal Highness of the Princess is one of those dramas that quietly sneaks up on you. No loud promotion, no big name traffic stars plastered everywhere, just a small cast of familiar faces who usually play supporting roles suddenly stepping into the spotlight. And honestly, they carried it better than many bigger productions. This little drama is soft, sweet, a bit chaotic at times, and criminally underrated. The tone of the show leans more toward light and fluffy rather than heavy palace tragedy. It is the kind of drama you watch to relax. There are plenty of cute interactions, playful banter, and warm moments that make you smile. Then every now and then the story quietly slips in an emotional scene that hits you right in the heart when you least expect it. It does not try too hard to be deep or complicated, but the sincerity of the characters makes the emotions feel real.
Bu Zi Ying as An Ki Ze was honestly the standout. Her acting was calm and restrained, the kind that does not need big dramatic gestures. She carried the character with quiet intelligence and gentle strength. A lot of her emotions were expressed through subtle expressions rather than loud acting, and that made the character feel thoughtful and layered. She handled both the tender scenes and the heavier moments with the same quiet confidence.
Han Mu Yi as A Lan deserves praise too. Her character could sometimes come across as a little foolish or naive, which might normally be annoying, but she balanced it with sincerity and a good sense of humor. Her comedic timing brought a lot of lightness to the story. Instead of feeling irritating, her character ended up feeling oddly lovable.
One of the nicest parts of the drama was the sisterhood between A Lan and A Zi. Their bond felt genuine, not forced. You could feel the care, the loyalty, and the quiet understanding between them. Some of the sweetest and most comforting scenes came from their interactions. In many ways their relationship gave the story its emotional warmth.
The first half of the drama is not perfect. It does move a bit slowly and some of the early story tasks can feel repetitive. The female lead pretending to be foolish for a while might test your patience too. But if you stick with it, the second half really starts to pick up. Once the four main characters head toward Tianyin City, the plot becomes much more engaging. Political schemes, hidden maps, shifting loyalties, and romance begin to weave together in a much more interesting way.
The drama also does a surprisingly good job building its side characters. Everyone has their own personality and motivations. Even the villains are written with understandable reasons rather than just being evil for the sake of it. The relationships between characters feel natural and develop slowly instead of being rushed.
Now let me complain a little.
The unnecessary deaths. Honestly, some of them felt like the writers just woke up one morning and chose emotional damage. Killing Rufeng was completely unnecessary. The male lead already had plenty of motivation from his parents’ deaths. Rufeng dying did not deepen the story. It just broke viewers’ hearts. He and Xi Xi deserved a peaceful happy ending and I will remain personally offended on their behalf.
And then there is A Zi and Yuwen Xiu. I was fully invested in them. The chemistry was there, the quiet tenderness was there, the hope was there. And then the writers decided to break our souls. Their ending hurts more than any dramatic battle scene because it is quiet and lingering. Not even the comfort of another life or reunion. Just heartbreak.
Why give us all that emotional investment only to snatch it away. Truly rude behavior from the writers.
Despite the emotional damage, this drama is still a hidden gem. The cast did a great job, especially considering many of them were previously supporting actors stepping into lead roles. The story may have a few rough spots. Some emotional scenes could have been stronger and the fight choreography sometimes looks a little stiff. But the heart of the drama is sincere, the romance is sweet, and the ending wraps most things up nicely.
In the end it feels like a warm, slightly imperfect but very charming historical romance. The kind that may not trend online but quietly wins over the people who actually watch it.
Soft, sweet, occasionally frustrating, and surprisingly touching. Definitely worth the watch.
Boring uncle romance drama with no chemistry between leads
I missed Huang Bo and when this drama was released, I watched within first few days of release. Unfortunately this drama was not great. Boring uncle romance unlike the other drama Huang Bo co-starred with Zhi Peng. What I liked:
1. Mafia boss - Not many scenes but they were fascinating. The gang was menacing.
2. Language - Wonderful to hear Cantonese. Not sure why there was mix of languages because ideally I wanted to hear boss & underlings to speak the same language.
3. Supporting characters - ML's henchman was entertaining. His jabs at ML were funny & he got away with saying his thoughts unfiltered.
4. Styling - I didn't like Huang Bo's gelled up hair which reminded me of Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However his clothes were good especially the pleather jacket.
What I disliked:
1. Romance - I didn't buy it. Rong Rong didn't contribute to the relationship - she was lucky to be doted on.
2. FL characterisation - She was boring, insecure & passive. A damsel with no personality. Too cute for my liking.
3. Acting - The main actress gave a bland & amateurish performance. Plus there was no chemistry with Huang Bo.
4. Antagonists - FL's family were terrible & money minded.
Favourite scene
When ML's henchman said out loud what was on his mind
Jiejie romance tackling big age gap and mental health issue
Jiejie romance is my favourite trope so this title caught my eye. I read that FL was supposed to be in her late 30s or early 40s so I clicked play. Overall I liked the drama but take note that this drama deals with heavy stuff.Trigger warning: Mental health issue, Suicide
What I liked:
1. Romance - Sexual tension was high as ML was in his teens when he started having a crush on FL. Good thing FL maintained her boundaries between them. This is a slowburn with romantic relationship between them developed when he was in his 20s.
2. Acting - It was my first time watching Ma Hao Dong & Li Sheng Xuan. Great performances by both and their chemistry was amazing.
3. Conflict - I liked how conflicts were explored in this drama especially from the view of FL. She got her demons to overcome.
4. Styling - Both leads wore great outfits especially ML. I liked MHD in buzz cut.
What I disliked:
1. Suicide - It was tough watching scenes of suicide attempt.
Favourite scene
Heart-to-heart confession scene
What a nostalgic movie. This brings back so many good memories
I really enjoyed watching this movie. It finally gave the story a proper ending, which made me feel satisfied.I was a bit sad that both master and student couldn’t see each other anymore in order to preserve history. The final farewell scene really touched me and even made me shed a few tears.
To be honest, seeing many of the veteran actors looking older also made reality hit me a little… time really flies! But it was still very nice to see them reprise their roles again.
DoMunDi TV production is back again with its cute "partnering show" to promote its next BL pairings
A little more than 1 year after "DMD Friendship the Reality Season 2" featuring 4th gen actors, DoMunDi TV production is coming back with a new season introducing this time its 5th gen actors. This season shared similar issues than previous ones but slightly worse. The show felt even more scripted than the previous ones, with the recipe loosing with each iteration a bit of magic and genuiness. Of course, there is still are still a good share of deliciously cringe but also adorable moments. I also quite enjoyed the cast, even if there was some misses and favoritism, it was less unbalanced than S2. It is still very fun to play the guessing game, even if it felt pretty obvious with some unavoidable bias for the participants coming back.
In addition of the outcome feeling pretty predictable in its majority, I think my biggest disappointment was the last episode with the talent show. What was literally an evolved school play production in S1 and S2, definitely did not improve with a lot of very average performances with a couple of exceptions.
Despite its flaws, I would still recommend this to people that have enjoyed the previous seasons or that are a fan of DoMunDi TV production. Even if I wish DoMunDi production had much more ressources to create series at the same pace they are always onboarding more and more actors into the various generations, I will probably watch a season 4 if they make it as it hits a very cute and cringe vibe that I enjoy a lot. Still, I wish they would take a break to allow their current pool of actors to shine.
Their cuteness is absolutely top-notch, でも。。。。。。。。
Even though I was smiling through almost every episode like a crazy person, I couldn’t give this series more stars than it deserves. Their cuteness is absolutely top-notch, but that’s pretty much what the series offers from beginning to end. It feels like something important is missing, something essential that every strong series should have. What I truly enjoyed about this series (aside from their undeniable chemistry and cuteness) were the references. It felt like a blend of several other JBL series released in recent years. I think that’s one of the reasons it gained so much attention across different platforms.
I still hope they continue the story into their college years, but I would love to see something more meaningful, something deeper rather than just a season filled entirely with lovey-dovey moments.
Hands down to this masterpiece
One of the best series of 2026 this easily became one of my favorites. The chemistry, cinematography, visuals, and storyline were all at their peak from episodes 1 to 7. The connection between the characters felt so natural and effortless that it was easy to get emotionally invested in them. Not a single episode felt boring or rushed. I never felt the need to pause or skip because every episode kept the same level of quality and engagement. Nothing felt forced or cringe; the storytelling flowed smoothly and kept me hooked the entire time.
A huge applause to Jessie and Tungpang for their incredible acting and chemistry it felt so natural and genuine. After such a long time, it was refreshing to watch a series where everything worked so well. Kudos to the entire crew, and I truly hope we get to see more projects from them in the future. 👏✨
Worst show
I had the worst time seeing this, i just kept watching how much i had left to finish an episode,,, i think the main characters didn't really look good as a couple, so it was just awkward,, i liked the second couple tho, they were cute,,, also, the ending ain't it, smh
def worth all the hype, so thrilling, so intense
holy heavens. I've been putting this off just because it's got a really high rating and I just knew I would love it, so I didn't want it to be over already. And boy, did it not disappoint.I finished it in two days, and it's one of the only shows ever where I found myself daydreaming about it throughout the day. I didn't know what I was getting into at all, but it was def worth every moment at the edge of your seat.
Great acting by our MCs but I have to clap my hands more for the phenomenally intense plot. Although it kept resetting and resetting, there was never a moment when I was ever bored. Very scene unlocked a new plot twist as we found out more and more information along with the MCs.
I cried at every sad scene, happy scene, intense scene, and plot twist. I could never predict what could happen next, and that's what made everything about this show so great.
And what I am especially grateful for was that they really took their time with the ending.
10/10 stars, will def rewatch again someday.
