My ultimate comfort drama

I absolutely love this drama. It taught me so much about effective communication and empathy. For instance, Lin Wanxing always tailors her communication strategies to match the personality of the person she's talking to, which is a great lesson in handling different characters. I also learned a lot about conflict management and crisis resolution—especially the importance of staying calm under pressure and focusing on solutions rather than anger.
From Lin Wanxing and Wang Fa’s relationship, I’ve learned that a healthy bond requires calm communication and mature discussions, even when feeling disappointed or angry, instead of resorting to the silent treatment. It’s all about mutual support. In real life, I personally prefer a slow-burn relationship, which is exactly why I adore their love story so much.
A huge thank you to Esther Yu (Yu Shuxin) and Chen Jingke for bringing Lin Wanxing and Wang Fa to life so beautifully. Kudos to all the young actors for their incredible performances, and to the director as well! 👍🏻 This drama successfully took me on an emotional rollercoaster, making me feel every single high and low.

Simple, Sweet, and Entertaining

The story is simple, easy to follow, and very entertaining. It doesn't try to be overly complicated, which makes it a relaxing and enjoyable watch.


The main actress has a naturally youthful baby face, so her cute, playful, and childish expressions feel believable rather than forced. Her facial expressions match her character perfectly, making her charm feel genuine.


The second female lead is absolutely beautiful and also left a strong impression on me.



I especially enjoyed both the first and second couples. Their stories were engaging, and I found myself looking forward to their scenes throughout the drama.

Six Episodes Weren't Enough!

I don't think Ticket to Heaven is a perfect series, but it's one that has stayed with me long after it ended—and for me, that's what matters most.

From the very first episode, it was clear this wasn't interested in telling a conventional BL story. At its core, it's a coming-of-age story about faith, identity, guilt, family, and love. It asks difficult questions without pretending to have easy answers, and I really appreciated that. The series never mocked religion, nor did it portray love as something that simply fixes everything. Instead, it allowed both to coexist, and that made the story feel honest.

Gemini and Fourth delivered what I genuinely believe are the strongest performances of their careers so far. Fourth carried the immense emotional weight of Tanrak's inner conflict with incredible subtlety. So much of his performance lived in his expressions, his hesitation, and the things he couldn't bring himself to say. You could feel the fear, confusion, guilt, and longing all at once.

Gemini, on the other hand, brought so much warmth and emotional stability to Barth. It would have been easy to play him as simply the confident, persistent love interest, but Gemini gave him remarkable patience and restraint. Barth loved Tanrak without trying to rescue him or pressure him into becoming someone else. He was playful when the story needed lightness, but when the emotional scenes arrived, Gemini met them with a quiet sincerity that made Barth feel incredibly safe. Together, they balanced each other beautifully.

What impressed me most was their chemistry. It didn't rely on constant flirting or physical intimacy. It was built through eye contact, comfortable silences, teasing, concern, and the small ways they looked after each other. By the time they finally chose each other, I completely believed these were two people who had fallen deeply in love.

Episodes 4 and 6 remain the highlights of the series for me. Episode 4 gave us that beautiful escape to the waterfall where, for a little while, they could simply exist without the weight of expectations hanging over them. Episode 6 finally let us see them building a life together after running away. Those episodes were filled with the kind of tenderness I'd been hoping for all along, and they're the ones I find myself thinking about the most.

Ironically, that's also where my biggest criticism lies.

Six episodes simply weren't enough.

Just as the series reached the point where Barth and Tanrak could finally live as a couple instead of constantly fighting to be together, it ended. Then we jumped decades into the future. I understand why the ending was structured that way, but I couldn't help feeling that we missed an entire chapter of their lives. I didn't need more drama—I wanted more of them. More quiet mornings. More conversations. More of them learning how to build an ordinary life after everything they'd endured. Their happiness felt hard-earned, and I wish we'd been allowed to spend more time in it.

Despite those frustrations, Ticket to Heaven is one of the most memorable BLs I've watched in recent years. Not because it's the biggest or the loudest, but because it trusted its story, trusted its characters, and trusted its audience. It reminded me that the most powerful love stories aren't always the ones filled with grand gestures. Sometimes they're the ones built in stolen glances, quiet understanding, unwavering patience, and choosing each other over and over again.

That's exactly what Barth and Tanrak gave us. And it's a story I'll be thinking about for a very long time.

At least the music was good

To be fair I went into this knowing full well that this was plotless smut and so I had full expectations that what I would be watching would be trash lol. Sometimes I just want to watch some mindless trash though and not give anything too much thought. But genuinely even with the bar set low I still felt a little disappointed.
The acting was not great, it improved throughout the series, but the beginning was very rough. The production quality looked like garbage, the first couple episodes were especially bad. I checked and then double checked that this series was made in 2025 cause the episodes looked like something from 2015, again it improved as the series progressed, it was around episode 4 when it started to look like a modern BL series filmed on an actual camera instead of on someone's phone. The sex scenes, which are meant to be the main focus of the series, were also not that great. They just looked messy tbh. None of the side couples piqued my interest either, I honestly wish the writers had opted to not have any and instead put more focus on SornJun, but I suppose there would have had to be an actual plotline for them to do that lol.
There were a few things I did like though. There was open communication about what type of relationship the couple would be having and when the feelings changed they openly told each other about it. Love to see it. Sorn turning into a complete simp for Jun was absolutely adorable. I adore a clingy/cuddly seme. Sorn's character development is seriously the main reason why I didn't rate this series a 5, I dedicated a whole star and a half for those hugs and forehead kisses. Lastly, the music selection. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the music in this series. It was clearly catering to an international audience since they were mostly english speaking songs. None of the songs were overplayed and there was a good variety of soft and fast paced songs which worked very well with the intimate scenes. I definitely plan to hunt down the names of them so I can add them to my playlist.
Also the special episodes, definitely better than the main series. If you manage to get through the 12 episodes of trash than I would recommend watching the 2 specials (I rated them a 7.5). They were much better quality and the sex scenes were much more fun to watch. If the energy they brought into the specials is what they bring into Knot than I'll definitely be looking forward to that series as well.

General info for anyone wanting to know:
• Is it nsfw/spicy? Yes. It shows the full sex scenes (and there are a lot of them) even though it does not show any nudity from the waist down.
• Is there violence? Nope. No violence, no trauma, no tragic backstories, just two guys having a lot of sex.
• Is there noncon? Surprisingly, no. There are a few scenes where Sorn begins by forcing himself onto Jun (ie pushing him against a wall and kissing him), but he always asks for consent before they initiate any actual intimacy.
• Love triangles? Despite rampant jealousy and possessiveness, no there weren't any love triangles.
• Are the specials worth watching? Yes, read review above for more details.
• And the Beard? Don't worry it only lasts for a few seconds. Like jfc what was the style team doing to poor Boat? I don't even know how anyone kept a straight face during that scene.

Palace curse

Nam joo in this role really out did himself. Personally I think his acting needs to be hyped up more , he really is very versitile , and he adapts very well with his characters.

For me this show has been what i have been yearning for since AOS .

This has really been one of the top Kdramas for 2026 , for me. The storyline, the acting , visuals , everything hit the top note .

Jang Young Nam what an actor , 👏 . She really never disappoints , but this was one of her best performances.
The show kept me engaged and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat.

The only reason i could not give a 10 , is that it left me wanting more. I really hope to see more dramas like this in the future . Even the little cute spirit , made sense in a series where everything is serious and ominous .

The only drama I have ever felt compelled to write a review for…

I just finished this masterpiece and I just want to convey what this drama means to me.

Not many BL dramas have ever really acknowledged what being gay means to a certain part of society. And when dramas do try to put attention to this they usually either just brush up on it in one singular episode or they make religion seem like an inherently homophobic thing.

Ticket to Heaven acknowledges the flaw of homophobia in the Catholic religion but does not undermine or bash the religion itself. A lot of people like to think you cannot comfortably be gay and be religious, but that is just wrong. I absolutely appreciate that despite the struggles our leads experience with their identity they do not abandon their faith but just change their perspective on what their faith means.

This drama was a story about acceptance and not abandoning religion.

A Hidden Gem of Chinese Detective Dramas

The Truth Within follows a brilliant but troubled forensic examiner and his partner as they unravel a series of interconnected cases while confronting their own haunted pasts.

Maybe one of the best cinematographically made and well-written Chinese detective dramas with good bromance. Nothing was out of line: well-written plot-twisting cases deeply connected to the personal stories of the male leads, good chemistry between all cast members, dedication to unveil the truth, emotional development of each character through the plot, and one of the best works of cinematography despite controversies and low budget production.

Personally, after some time, I don't really remember the cases that were in between—cases five and six and the first one. However, I still have in mind the image of the deadly spider web case. It definitely has something cinematic to it. Throughout all of the cases, we slowly discover the truth, layer by layer. The water itself revealed a link for us and for the main character.

The truth within the main character's case—I definitely need to admit it—Luo Yunxi's acting skills are what I remember the most. He could bring out all emotions without moving anything in his face, yet at the same time be incredibly expressive when it comes to fighting for the truth. I like the diversity of his character. Maybe some details should be different, but overall the dynamic was quite memorable.

A Story That Quietly Found Its Way Into My Heart

I honestly didn't expect **Road to Success** to mean this much to me. I started it thinking it would just be another youth sports drama, but somewhere along the way, it became something I genuinely look forward to every week.

It's not just about winning matches or chasing dreams. It's about people who are scared, lost, and unsure of themselves, yet still choose to keep going. That's what made me connect with it so deeply. Every character feels like they're fighting their own battle, and seeing them slowly heal and grow together is so rewarding.

What makes this drama special for me is how comforting it feels. It doesn't try too hard to be emotional, but somehow the quiet moments hit the hardest. A simple conversation, a smile after a difficult day, or teammates standing by each other says more than dramatic speeches ever could.

Esther Yu brings so much warmth to her character, and her chemistry with Chen Jingke feels effortless. Their relationship is built on understanding and support, and that's what makes it so beautiful to watch.

Since the drama is still ongoing, I don't know how the story will end. But I do know that it has already given me characters I'll miss, moments I'll remember, and a feeling that's hard to describe. It's one of those rare dramas that reminds you that success isn't always about reaching the top—sometimes it's simply about finding the strength to keep moving forward.

I can't wait to see where this journey takes everyone, but no matter how it ends, **Road to Success** has already earned a special place in my heart.

Mucho potencial pero alli queda

La historia tiene mucho potencial, uno ama ver el pasado de so-ri contrastado con su presente, su nueva "oportunidad" de vida pero del capitulo 9 en adelante todo pierde el rumbo, la protagonista que es fuerte y "detecta el peligro" derepente es bajada a ser simplemente una mujer vulnerable que necesita ser salvada por el chico (como 4 veces seguidas) ella llora y se sacrifica 3 veces mas, se despide de su amor otras 4 veces y al final me dejan sin saber que paso con su version del pasado de ella y de el para darme mas escenas sin sentido.
Lo que era serio en esta historia (asesinatos intrigas etc) lo vuelven comedia..que dolor ver como todas las relaciones de so-ri se centran al final en un solo hombre y despues de aprender lo que es una "segunda oportunidad" llega a la conclusión de que necesita venganza lol ah pero con el hombre mas "malo malote" de esta historia si va a decirle que cambie de vida, osea, que?
Desde el 9 en adelante se vuelve en un bucle de incongruencias, todos los cliches de romance mezclados y empujados a las prisas y problemas de la historia se resuelven en 3 min, horrendo.
El romance secundario tenia mucho potencial y lo dejaron en nada porque era mas importante enseñarme como so-ri volvia al pasado para decirle a su antiguo amor que solo lo necesitaba vivo para salvar a su verdadero amor y ese pobre hombre en el pasado que se desvivio por ella ademas de no recibir ni un buen momento me venden que al final si quedo vivo pero ni si quiera me dejaron ver si era feliz con la mujer que ama. En fin, horrendo.
P.d el que se atreva a decir que esta historia es una masterpiece...bueno, amigo. Te falta ver buenas historias, con todo respeto te lo digo♡

Great first half but disappearing second half of the drama

I was genuinely excited for this drama—it gave off major Constantinevibes, and I was ready for a thrilling ride. And for the first half, it mostly delivered.

The cinematography is stunning. I loved how they brought the realm and all its creatures to life—the visual world-building was immersive and beautifully crafted. The contrast between the two worlds of the palace was especially well done. You could clearly see the real palace, where countless souls were sacrificed to human greed, standing in stark opposition to the other realm. That tension was palpable and added real weight to the story.

The duo at the heart of the drama was another highlight. Gu-cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), the spirit slayer who can cross into the Realm of Gwi, and Saeng-gang (Roh Yoon-seo), the court lady who can hear the voices of the dead, made a compelling team . Watching them grow into a great partnership was genuinely satisfying, and their journey kept me invested early on. Cho Seung-woo as the king and Jang Young-nam as the queen dowager, added depth to the palace intrigue . But the absolute star of the show for me was the evil creature, Mengramile. I absolutely loved every scene he was in.

Unfortunately, the second half lost all the momentum the first half had built. It became quite boring, and the story started to feel unfocused and less engaging. It's a real shame because the potential was clearly there. The foundation was solid—great visuals, a compelling duo, and a memorable villain—but the execution in the later episodes just couldn't sustain it.

Overall, The East Palace had so much going for it, but it couldn't quite stick the landing. Worth watching for the first half and Mengramile alone, but I wish the rest had lived up to the promise.

8 Episodes of Non-Stop Plot Twists

Watching this drama feels like reading a novel. The beginning can be a bit confusing because the story is pretty complex and there are a lot of characters. But once you start connecting the characters and side stories, it gets so addictive. The plot twists just keep coming. 😭🤚🏻

If you're not a fan of horror, don't worry. This isn't the kind of drama that relies on jump scares. The horror comes more from the atmosphere, mystery, and the ghosts' stories. They're nothing like the monsters in Sweet Home—some of the ghosts are actually pretty cute. 🤏🏻

My only complaints are that the second half feels a bit repetitive, the soundtrack doesn't always match the scenes, and the villain's ending was a little underwhelming. After everything they did... that's all the karma they got??? 😭

Overall, The East Palace is definitely worth watching, especially if you're looking for something to binge! 😍

Promising on Paper, Underwhelming in Execution

I sat with this drama for a few days before deciding how I felt about it because I didn't want my first reaction to be disappointment. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece or anything that would redefine the genre, but I did expect a story that felt complete. Instead, it felt like it never quite knew what it wanted to be.

My biggest issue wasn't even that it was predictable. I don't mind predictable if the execution is good. The problem was that so many storylines either went nowhere or existed purely to misdirect the audience. The whole subplot with the newly hired team leader chasing Peach felt like it was there solely to make us suspect Thee was involved with the mafia, only for that reveal to amount to almost nothing. It took up valuable screen time without adding much to the story.

Tawan is another example. I kept waiting for him to become important, to influence the plot in some meaningful way, and it just never happened. By the end I was left wondering why he was even there.

The pacing in the final episodes also frustrated me. Episode 9 spends time establishing why Thee shouldn't propose yet, only for Episode 10 to have him do exactly that before jumping almost immediately to their wedding. There was very little room for those emotional moments to breathe. It felt like the series was rushing to the finish line instead of earning it.

The "twists" were also easy to see coming. I guessed the adoption storyline from very early on, so it never landed as the emotional payoff I think it was meant to be.

And for a series that constantly reminded us how dangerous this world supposedly was, it never actually felt dangerous. Characters kept talking about the family's enemies and the constant threat surrounding them, yet we rarely saw any real consequences. Thee's entire identity revolved around protecting himself and staying alive, but after a couple of episodes he was suddenly comfortable lowering his guard simply because Peach assured him everything was fine. That completely undermined the stakes the show had spent so much time trying to establish.

Aran, Rome, and Mom also felt underutilized. I kept expecting them to have a larger impact on the overall story, but they never really found a meaningful place in the narrative. Instead, they mostly felt like supporting pieces that were there when the plot needed them and forgotten when it didn't.

One thing that also affected my experience, and I know this comes down to personal taste—is that I generally struggle to finish PondPhuwin series because I've never really connected with their onscreen chemistry. I won't dwell on that because chemistry is subjective, and clearly a lot of people love them. I actually pushed through this one because it's such a popular series and I wanted to give it a fair chance. I'm still open to watching their next BL. Maybe they'll be given a stronger script, and maybe both of them will continue to grow as actors.

By the end, I wasn't angry, I was just underwhelmed. The cast was there and the foundation for an interesting story. But the writing never fully committed to its ideas. Too many plotlines were introduced without satisfying resolutions, the danger never felt real, and the emotional payoffs came before the story had properly earned them. For me, it wasn't a terrible show. It was simply an unfinished one, and that's ultimately what made it so disappointing.
