Como tinha que ser
Um dorama divertido, leve, que contagia o seu espírito e te deixa feliz mesmo quando está para baixo. Uma historia interessante que mexe com a monarquia nos tempos de hoje na Coréia do Sul. Isso me trouxe muitas fantasias e me empoulgou desde o início. Was this review helpful to you?
Comfort watch of small town life and Leads with good chemistry
Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25“Dazzling” is a feel-good drama set in a beautiful and friendly seaside town. The drama is easy to watch, and won’t really raise your blood pressure much. The story is actually quite simple. High school student, Qing Ye, was forced to leave Beijing and moved to a rural town due a family emergency. She needs to get used to living a simple life and say goodbye to her spoiled, comfortable life in Beijing. There, she met the greenest of the green flags, Xing Wu, who has his own struggles.
Plot:
The plot is simple and quite predictable. This could be a comfort watch for you, or it could be a boring one because you can guess what’s going to happen next from a mile away. The pacing is OK, but it was a little slower in the middle. My biggest problem with the plot is that the debt problem seems to disappear abruptly, to make way for a happier life. Given how they struggled early on, I didn’t think the business could pay off all that debt with ML going back to school. But we gotta move on to go back to high school, so I guess the loan sharks need to step back. I also don’t think this drama really needs 30 episodes. Additionally, it could have been executed better if they had reduced the high school days episodes, and given the present-day timeline more time. “Dazzling” seems like a healing/feel-good slice-of-life drama, instead of a romantic comedy.
Romance
Guan Xiao Tong and Li Yun Rui have really good chemistry. I enjoyed their scenes together from beginning to the end. This is a slow-burn romance, even though you know they have feelings for each other. But drama veterans know Chinese dramas don’t let high school kids really date during high school days. That’s why, I was not surprised we have to wait till they become adults to see some action. Having said that, there are plenty of longing looks and shy sneaky glances throughout the drama, especially from our green flag male lead, Xing Wu. They have a lot of fun and quiet moments. Their conversations are filled with high school banter, yet mature words to deal with life's struggles. Xing Wu is quiet with his love but his actions speak VERY loudly. I quite enjoy the progression of their relationship from strangers not liking each other, to family, friends, and lovers. I do wish I could see their happy, dating moments sooner and witness more of those delicious and passionate kisses.
Characters
The strength of this drama is the characters in this small town. They women are strong and lovely! The whole cast is such a lovely bunch and they make me want to spend a week of vacation there. I love Aunty Li Lan Fang. She has a dead beat husband, but she lives her life in such open optimism. Grandma is also a national treasure. It’s no wonder Xing Qu grew up to be such a great guy, being showered with love by these two women in his life. The friendship between the 3 aunties is also lovely to see. They are so fun and I love them teasing each other. As for our leads, Xing Wu is a little too perfect and dreamy. How can a guy who has gone through such hardships be still so upstanding, loyal, protective, rational, mature, caring and just an all-around great guy? Luckily, I don’t find him to be boring. Li Yun Rui did a fantastic job, but I do have to say there’s no way he looks like a high school student. Guan Xiao Tong also was great as Qing Ye. Qing Ye was so insufferable in the first few episodes as this spoiled princess. But it’s understandable given the circumstances. She has also grown to be a very lovely independent woman. It is a little sad to see how both main leads have to grow up so fast and be so mature at such a young age. The friend group is supportive and fun.
Production
I was going to complain about the music in this drama, because there was a scene early on where the leads were arguing and happy music started playing loudly. But after that moment, I started to like the songs and found the lyrics to be quite appropriate in subsequent scenes. Now I have several songs on my Spotify playlist. They do have a few songs that they play quite often, even though I like them. I love the scenery of the sea, the beach, the light tower and the rural town. Even the simple house that the leads live in feels so homey and comfortable. I can imagine life in that small house.
“Dazzling” is a comfort watch and an easy binge for me. It does slow down a little bit in the middle but not slow enough for me to feel bored. I love all the characters in this drama and I root for all of them. It’s lovely to take a peek into this small town life. The leads have great chemistry and the acting is good. It might not surprise you with twists and turns, but there are enough moments to cheer you up and make you smile.

This review may contain spoilers
Because this is one of my favorites.
I don't get all of the 6-ish ratings. I've watched this a number of times, most recently to see if I could see why the review ratings couldn't get above a 6.5. Nope still doesn't make any sense to me. For me, this is a solid 10. Maybe it's because it goes along its way rather quietly? No excessive physical abuse. No drugging. No kidnapping. No inheritance fights. No banquet humiliation. Etcetera.... There are other quieter, yet equally insidious behaviors and actions. Got to have a bit of green tea. And manipulation, guilting, and almost literal emotional blackmail, amongst some other expected inclusions.Doesn't mean there isn't a whole lot going on in a relatively short period of time. So many layers and events. Then that incredible relationship that started with two people who had no experience of familial love. The fact that they were both determined to develop a solid marriage by allowing themselves to function within a comfort zone using what skills they had was almost heroic. Takes some serious acting craft to pull something this complex off, let alone do it well.
Yep. This is still on my rewatch list. And still a 10. I hope to have several of those in my viewing future. 🎉😁🎉

Might Makes Right
What lesson is it that this series wants to teach? That to get ahead in life, we have to hit harder or run faster to escape the bullies–or find someone who can do it for us?That lesson is front and center in episodes one and two of TEACH YOU A LESSON.
There’s nothing in TEACH YOU A LESSON about learning for its own sake, or about the value of decency and empathy. Everyone in this drama, teachers, students, and parents, abides by the law--- the law of the jungle, that is, whether it’s at school or in the adult world of business and politics. Although similar in some ways to WEAK HERO (1,2), it’s much darker.
Here in the real world, we’re awash in dimwitted slogans, idiotic conspiracy theories, thought-terminating threats, and cliches playing the part of actual arguments.
Will beating up the bad guys make it all better? Should we stop doing the hard work of not giving in to our worst impulses?
For a lot of people, the answer seems to be–yes. Make your body into a fighting machine and throw your brain out the window. Let the nukes fly. Because it feels good to see everybody else get what they deserve.
Pretty simplistic...and it never works in the long run, in spite of what this series implies.

I finally understand what 답답해 feels like
I knew what this show was before starting. That it was slow, more about life than romance, etc. My criticism isn't with any of that. The show is suppose to be more soul-ish. I just can't understand how anyone likes this show with such bad characters. None of them are likeable, which would be fine if there was something else about them or this drama. But it's supposed to be all about the characters and their lives, hence it's just about a bunch of annoying, unsatisfactory people, filled with moments that personally don't make sense to me, especially the amount of time they, out of nowhere, start talking about something "deep". The way they do it feels so unnatural. You're telling me a grown man is suddenly talking in detail about the loss of his parents and bullying experience in a public café, with his colleagues he barely knows and some supervisor. Just like that? Same with the monologues that are supposed to be all relatable and deep but they just don't have the right timing to really hit. I was really looking forward to this so I promise I'm not trying to be a hater. However, after 10 episodes, I feel like I've been mentally kidnapped by this show and its frustrating characters. Was this review helpful to you?
Lot's of fighting scenes
I have tried to watch this series twice, this 2nd time I got to episode 8. I know I have seen many episodes when I first started watching. I truly like the cast, the main lead and others. It just seems that there are too many fight scenes that make this series a little long for me. The story line is very good, political intrigue, spying, and of course some comedy from the actors. Was this review helpful to you?

Beyond Perfection: Why This Masterpiece Redefines the Survival Horror Genre
The Spirealm is hands down a flawless, top-tier masterpiece that easily claims the number one spot on my all-time favorite list. It delivers a perfect combination of nail-biting survival, genuine horror, and unmatched character dynamics. What Makes It UnmatchedElectric Chemistry: The connection between Ling Jiu Shi (Lingling) and Ruan Lanzhu is extraordinary. If you are tired of fluffy, repetitive plots and crave high-quality storytelling with unmatched chemistry and thrilling stakes, The Spirealm is a mandatory watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Censorship Defied: Why This Slow-Burn Chinese BL Will Shock You

However, the unexpected level of heat and the boldness of the production make it a must-watch for any BL fan.Was this review helpful to you?
A Welcome Return to Greatness: A Breathtaking Review of Shine
When the legendary series KinnPorsche concluded, many fans accepted that it might be a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon for its spectacular lead pairing. To be completely honest, after the massive success of that dark mafia world, I never expected my absolute favorite ship—Mile Phakphum Romsaithong and Apo Nattawin Wattanagitiphat—to share the screen in a brand-new contemporary romance series. The announcement and release of Shine was a dream come true for the fandom. Stepping away from the heavy crime elements, this drama delivers an incredibly beautiful, mature, and refreshing narrative that proves this pairing can master any genre they touchThe plot of Shine shifts the focus toward a much more grounded, deeply emotional, and character-driven world. The series follows Phai (played by Apo), a passionate young man dedicated to preserving traditional Thai arts and identity, and Tanwa (played by Mile), a sharp-witted investor with a pragmatic approach to business. What follows is a magnificent, slow-burning romance built on mutual respect, cultural pride, and deep healing. The script is written with immense care and poetry, making the emotional evolution of their relationship feel completely organic, soft, and profoundly moving. While both leads deliver elite-tier performances, the absolute highlight of the show is Mile’s spectacular portrayal of Tanwa. I fell completely in love with this character and the way Mile brought him to life. Unlike his previous rigid, high-stakes mafia persona, Tanwa is a complex mix of professional intelligence, hidden warmth, and unconditional devotion. The way Tanwa looks at Phai, supports his dreams, and navigates his own vulnerabilities with such a mature, gentle charm is breathtaking. Mile gives the character an irresistible screen presence that anchors the entire emotional weight of the show.Ultimately, Shine is a spectacular triumph that easily earns a 9.5/10. It is a beautifully shot, culturally rich, and emotionally resonant masterpiece that gives viewers exactly what they wanted: a phenomenal love story led by an absolute powerhouse pairing. Seeing Mile and Apo recreate their legendary on-screen magic in such a soft, poetic setting is pure joy. If you want to witness top-tier acting, a gorgeous script, and a character like Tanwa who will completely steal your heart, this series is an absolute, unmissable treasure. Was this review helpful to you?
Masterpiece Beyond the Controversy
Every once in a while, a drama comes along that is so profoundly beautiful it completely captures your soul, forcing you to return to it over and over again. The Japanese BL series Our Youth (2024-2025) is exactly that kind of cinematic triumph. However, it is impossible to talk about this show without acknowledging the painful real-world controversy surrounding one of its main actors, which shook the global fandom in 2025. Yet, as a true fan of storytelling, I firmly believe in separating the art from the artist. Despite the heartbreaking real-life situation, this drama remains a flawless masterpiece that delivers some of the best acting and emotional depth the genre has ever seen. Our Youth stands far above your typical, fluffy high school romances. The plot follows the compelling contrast between Minase Jin (Junsei Motojima), an overachieving, exemplary student bound by societal rules, and Haruki Hirukawa (Kenshin Kamimura), a troubled classmate from a rough neighborhood who bears the heavy scars of domestic abuse. What starts as an accidental crossover of their separate worlds slowly morphes into a deeply emotional coming-of-age journey. The script deals with heavy, mature themes like isolation, family trauma, and the fear of social judgment with immense sensitivity, poetry, and cinematic brilliance. No matter the noise and scandals happening off-camera, nobody can deny the absolute magic that Motojima and Kamimura created together on set. Their on-screen chemistry is nothing short of legendary. The contrast between Minase’s quiet loneliness and Hirukawa’s fierce, defensive vulnerability creates a romantic tension that feels raw, organic, and incredibly heavy with unspoken love. The way they shield, comfort, and gradually heal each other's emotional wounds is breathtaking. Every micro-expression, lingering gaze, and breakdown is acted with elite-tier precision that completely immerses you in their world, making their love story feel immortalUltimately, Our Youth is a definitive 10/10 and easily one of the best Japanese BL series ever produced. It is a poignant, beautifully shot masterpiece that handles the complexities of youth and first love with pure artistic elegance. While the real-world events following the show remain deeply tragic and unfortunate for the cast's future collaborations, they cannot diminish the brilliance of the work they left behind. If you are capable of separating real-world drama from the silver screen, you owe it to yourself to watch this spectacular series—it is a hauntingly beautiful comfort show that you will keep coming back to forever. Was this review helpful to you?

Revenged Love (2025) is precisely that kind of rare, unmatchable masterpiece. Produced as a high-quality live-action remake of the classic novel Counter Attack by Chai Ji Dan, this Chinese Boys' Love series has taken the international community by storm. The plot starts with a wild, hilarious premise: after being humiliated and dumped by his wealthy girlfriend, the poor but determined Suo Wei decides to exact the ultimate revenge by seducing her new billionaire boyfriend. Chi Chi and Wei Wei have genuinely become everything to the viewers—their happiness, boundaries, and playful banter are the ultimate comfort, making them an unforgettable pairing that you want to protect at all costsWhat elevates Revenged Love into the stratosphere of elite television is the phenomenal casting of its leads, Tian Xu Ning (Chi Cheng) and Zi Yu (Wu Suo Wei). The sheer, unadulterated chemistry between Tian and Zi Yu is nothing short of a miracle. They possess a rare, electric on-screen synergy where even the smallest glance, the deepest smirk, or a subtle change in posture leaves the audience completely breathless. Every single interaction between them feels incredibly intense, raw, and heavy with emotion. Tian portrays the dominant, fiercely protective heir with magnificent charisma, while Zi Yu brings an endearing, sharp-witted vulnerability to Suo Wei that captures your heart completelyBeyond its narrative perfection, Revenged Love holds immense historical value for Asian entertainment. For years, mainstream full-length BL productions from mainland China faced heavy censorship roadblocks, forcing fans to rely on heavily watered-down bromance narratives. This 24-episode masterpiece completely shattered those barriers, effectively opening the doors wide for high-budget, uncensored, and authentic Chinese BL productions. The success of this series has revolutionized the industry, paving the way for a brand-new era of storytelling. It is a massive triumph, and knowing that it was brought to life by such dedicated creators makes the experience even more rewarding.Without a single shred of doubt, Revenged Love is a flawless 10/10 masterpiece that stands completely undefeated. Frustrating Choices but a Perfect Ending
As a vital part of the interconnected Fourever You franchise, Gelboys delivers an incredibly addictive, high-energy, and emotional youth romance that keeps you glued to the screen. Following the complex social and romantic lives of its main characters, the drama easily earns a strong 8.5/10 for its fantastic character chemistry and vibrant storytelling. However, while the show is an absolute blast to watch, it is also a massive test of patience, featuring a love triangle dynamic that will make you want to scream at your screen out of pure frustrationThe most infuriating part of Gelboys centers around Chian’s complete blindness when it comes to his priorities. For a large portion of the series, it is incredibly painful to watch Fourthmod give his absolute all, loving Chian unconditionally and wearing his heart on his sleeve. Instead of reciprocating that pure affection, Chian constantly brushes Fourthmod aside, repeatedly choosing his friend, Bua, over the guy who clearly loves him. This constant rejection and mixed signals create moments of intense frustration where you just want to shake Chian and tell him to wake up. Watching Fourthmod get sidelined for a friend dynamic was exhausting and heartbreakingThankfully, the drama manages to save itself from being a tragedy. The writing pulls through in the final stretch, allowing Chian to finally sort out his feelings, realize what is truly important, and make the right choice. The story ends on a wonderfully positive, heartwarming note that cures all the built-up anger from the previous episodes. The conclusion feels well-deserved, but because the main couple’s actual happy era felt so short after all the drama, there is an immediate craving for more of their story.Ultimately, Gelboys is a fantastic 8.5/10 series that successfully blends heavy relationship drama with great comedic beats. It will make you furious at Chian’s dense decisions, but the beautiful endgame makes the emotional rollercoaster completely worth it. The chemistry between the leads is too good to leave behind, and fans are collectively crossing their fingers for a Season 2 where we can finally witness Chian and Fourthmod navigate their relationship without any third-party distractions. Was this review helpful to you?
Flawless Production, Toxic Romance
Adapted from the dark romance web novel Four-Faced Buddha by Su Er Liang, the uncensored BL series To My Shore is an absolute rollercoaster of obsessive passion. Following the psychological warfare between the emotionally unstable Fan Xiao (Yun Qi) and the rational You Shulang (Hao Yiran), the series delivers masterclass acting and cinematic tension. While the technical execution, atmospheric directing, and acting performance easily command a perfect 10/10 rating, the core romance itself is incredibly frustrating, leaving viewers starving for genuine warmth rather than endless psychological manipulation. While the show is incredibly addicting, it often struggles to balance its heavy themes. For the vast majority of the runtime, the plot dives headfirst into red flags, toxic obsession, jealousy, and mutual sabotage. If you tune in expecting a soft, comforting romance, you will be disappointed to find a narrative that trades healthy affection for constant emotional strain. The characters spend so much time hurting each other that when real love finally surfaces at the very end, it feels incredibly brief. The final episodes provide an incredible payoff, but you are left wishing the script had allowed them to breathe and experience a peaceful, soft love story much earlier. The release of the highly anticipated 4-part To My Shore Special Episodes was supposed to fix this lack of domestic fluff. Unfortunately, the expansion turned out to be a massive letdown. For fans who wanted a true glimpse into the couple's long-term happy future—specifically wishing to see their domestic life together raising their child—the special content heavily missed the mark. Instead of focusing on their future family dynamic, the episodes felt disconnected and repetitive, wasting precious screen time on lingering trauma and seaside healing rather than giving the domestic family closure everyone was craving.Ultimately, To My Shore receives a 10/10 because as a dark, gritty psychological drama, it is practically flawless in its execution. However, it is a bittersweet masterpiece. The intense toxicity overshadows the affection, and the heavily hyped 2026 special episodes fail to deliver the ultimate domestic bliss. It remains an elite tier watch for its phenomenal acting and production value, but it leaves a lingering ache for the happy family moments that we never truly got to see.Was this review helpful to you?
