What a hot mess!

It sucked.

The central love story:
The ML is an idiot and has zero reasoning skills. He decides to believe his gf time and again and just ghosts the FL and then pop's back up in her life without any explanations.
The FL gives in too easily and deserved a lot better. Her character proved how blind love can be, she kept loving despite the push and pull and didn't even stop to think that this was far too toxic for her.
They ending was confusing, claiming that they ended up together. Why? She deserved better and ML was honestly too in love with himself to ever trust anyone and went out of his way to prove that he didn't need her in his life.

When they packed up their bags and departed to home, I knew something messed up was coming.

Other characters:
My heart went out to Jiang Bai Li, FL's best friend. She just couldn't give up on a guy who was so toxic that he hit on FL the first time they met and Bai Li was right there. She deserved so much better.
Zhang Ming Rui, friend to both ML & FL was the only sane person in this entire show. I wished he would have ended up with Bail Li.

Goofy fun

Android Kikaider is another semi-run-of-the-mill 70s tokusatsu show from Shōtarō Ishinomori, the same mind who brought us the likes of Kamen Rider. While for the most part very monster of the week like early Shōwa era Ultraman episodes, it's in the last 7 episodes where it becomes exceptional as that is the introduction of Hakaider and where the show becomes worthy of its reputation. It's got its dated elements and isn't nearly as great in terms of production as some of Toei's other productions from that era, but it remains a solid show regardless. Also, shout out to Daisuke Ban who carries much of this show as the titular character.

what did we have ??

So what did we have in this fantasy drama, there was a promising fantasy plot in the first ten episodes, funny with hints of a developing romance. A promising casting of talented actors, but at the same time, as the episodes continued, there was also an expectation of the development of the characters. Jin Sun Mi, remained melancholic throughout the drama, all she seemed to care about was whether Son Oh Kong would continue to love her after he took off the bracelet.
In my opinion, the drama could have been shortened, there was no justification for making 20 episodes. (It gives the impression that the writer wanted to emphasize the characters of the women, as weak women who depend on men
I agree on one thing and it is also sad, and that is that humans bring about the destruction of the world because of a desire for power and control.
**** The effects were at a very moderate level.
A drama worth watching mainly because of the casting of the actors, the potential, and the funny parts

Is this drama worth watching?

Yes! Yes! Yes! A hundred times yes! definitely one of the best dramas I’ve watched so far. Been putting of watching it for way to long, but so happy that I finally chose to watch it! The plot, the acting, the OST, literally everything was *chef’s kiss*. Not a moment during the entire show was boring and I couldn’t take my eyes off the tv through all of it. If you’re thinking about watching it, DO IT! You won’t regret even a minute of it. Though be prepared to bawl your eyes out a few times?

Every now and then,, you just need a great chick flick!

This review has germinated for several months. Why? For me, the real test of a film that just makes your heart happy is tied to sustaining that viewing after viewing. "Hidden Love" as a script far exceeded the original story by adding character depth, a first love romance that most women remember, with ML/FL actors that fill the screen with emotion and...let's be honest, amazing visuals....but it was more than that. The entire cast ensemble created a story synergy filling in all the spaces in a series of interwoven plotlines with a director's sequence expertise that is missing in most dramas.

The relationships of siblings, parents, friends, and those college roommates we all had that have remained in our lives since our first dormitory room long ago. Scriptwriters who bring humor, sadness, conflict, and growing pains into each episode are rare in modern dramas but fortunately for the producers of Hidden Love, they took you on a concurrent journey through the storyline and our memories of similar moments in our coming of age from high school through our college years.

I could spend time exploring the chemistry among Zhoa Lusi, Victor Ma, and Chen Zheyuan, but each episode pretty much speaks for itself as we travel through the years watching the dynamics of these three grow individually as people and together in romance, friendship, and as siblings. An older brother protecting you growing up creates a very special bond that transcends time. The heartbreak of thinking our first love "couldn't wait for us to grow up" before finding someone was a sequence of emotional events that was handled so realistically you could feel her despair right along with her. The only aspect of this drama I would have to say I found disappointing was when it ended without a clear possibility for a follow-up season.

The story of this drama would be incomplete without congratulating the marking team who created a BTS series of videos that kept viewers engaged between episodes and added depth to the drama in getting to know the detailed work that went into the final product. Watching actors having fun while focused on their craft and supporting one another is rare. Those captured moments made each actor shine as people versus only seeing them in the roles they are portraying. I have watched this drama several times and purchased it for special friends who I know will be drawn into many of the college antics pulling from the collective memory of my college roommates and classmates. Happy Viewing--Hope

It's worth your time !!!!

Emotions, romance, each and every thing is so believable and put to perfection. Lee min ho is an amazing actor and how he has embraced the KING character is brilliant. He is so true to it. Gentle and respected. Same goes with Kim go eun. She is so natural and effortless. Woo do hwan steals the show with his sheer versatility, acting two opposite characters to such perfection.

There is no unnecessary drama or misunderstandings between the two leads which they usually add in such genre of drama, which is incredible because it will take some time to understand the story with its amazing twists and turns, we don't need anything else to keep us hooked.

The cinematography is so beautiful, the sets are awe worthy. What more can I say to bring justice to it. Everything is very believable. That is the word. I am so happy that I stumbled across this beautiful show. LMH made me fall in love with him again.

Despise love triangle !!!!!

The webtoon was extremely well-written, with an interesting plot and complex characters. When I realized there was a drama adaptation of the webtoon, I was a bit nervous and excited.

For a sixteen-episode drama, I think the writers did a decent job at condensing the story into 40 to 60-minute episodes. Of course, it had its flaws. The webtoon provided an in depth look at the characters, and I think the drama failed to do that.

What I liked about it though is the cast. Park Hae Jin did a good job of portraying Jung's multi-faceted personality. Kim Go Eun and the rest performed really well too.

Overall, it could've been better. If only they gave the drama more episodes (about 20-24 eps), then the story wouldn't have felt so rushed. 16 episodes are not enough to contain Soonkki's masterpiece.

I would love to see a revamp of Cheese in the Trap with longer episodes and the same cast.

Contractual Love (2021) is a lighthearted romantic comedy miniseries. The drama is fast paced and there are many comedic moments that are really funny. The leading couple did well delivering their day to day interactions but their romantic moments, although they were nice, they lacked zealousness. The antagonist did very well playing the villain and business adversary to the leading male. Although the drama was entertaining, it is a shame that the subtitles are terrible and truly hurt the flow and quality of the drama.

Exciting Start, Long Solutions and Examination of Fantastic Elements

It actually started well. The light mystery and horror theme and the fact that it didn't get cute too quickly was good. However, I still couldn't avoid getting bored. The solution of the mysteries was slow and long. There were some nonsense (ex-lover, weird real estate agent and alien boy) I can't say much about this nonsense because I mostly fast-forwarded.
The chemistry of the couple was good, I expected more kissing and physical intimacy. I didn't understand why we watched their first kiss from a distance.
I understand that the ghost thing is difficult, but it is also a subject where many different things can be tried in a fantastic way. I don't understand why ghost stories are always the same things.

The clichés of ghost love dramas:
The ghost is attractive and has amnesia.
Together with the human person, they search for the ghost's past.
They always find a painful past.

For example, I think the dream thing was a good topic and could have been used much more efficiently.

I feel like writing a short ghost story.

▪ The handsome ghost of the house falls in love with the cute boy of the house and enters his dreams, where they flirt.
▪ The cute boy falls in love with the ghost. (The ghost is already in love with him.)
▪ The cute boy wants to see the ghost and ventures into the dark waters of the mystical world.
▪ Of course, there is a price for this. He opens his third eye and sees other things along with the ghost.
▪ The ghost wants to materialize and makes a deal with a shaman.
▪ As he destroys spirits that should not exist in the world, he obtains an item that allows him to materialize for a certain period.
▪ Luckily, the cute boy can now see all spiritual beings and is a human.
▪ The ghost and the human, in order to be together (and, of course, to make love), embark on a hunt in the dark world.
▪ Normally, there are many ghosts doing this job, but none do it with a human, and our ghost quickly becomes famous.
...
These are the things that come to my mind for now.

I think they shouldn't hesitate to add fantasy elements. Adding fantasy elements doesn't necessarily mean using special effects.

Other than that, it's not very memorable for me, but it's better than most ghost stories. The female character, Dream, was good. It was well developed. I liked her.

A Drama that SHAPED my Life :-)

LEARNING has no End !!!

At any stage of Life , each and every second , from each and every being , We can learn something .

I am a person who believes in that.
So I always questioned myself -

"What did I learn from this drama ?"
"What did I learn from this situation ?"
"What did I learn from this person ?"
"What did I learn from my Experience ?"
"What did I learn Today ?"
etc. etc.

But never ever,
Not even in my dreams,
Even for once,
Did I question myself -

"What can we learn from DEATH ?"

This DRAMA has taught me that !!!
.....................................................................................

I always heard and believed -
"We get to live only once ! "

Never did I think about -
"We have to DIE only once - was muchhh more of a blessing than living once ."
.....................................................................................

Although this drama talks about DEATH
I'm really really grateful for giving it a watch .

Because it taught me - " THE VALUE OF LIFE !!! "

P.S.- Also , It's hard to Rewatch it , because It's not a drama you can forget easily ;-)

There is no love triangle (or rectangle) but it is the slowest of burns

==Breakdown==
Background plot - 55%
Romance - 35%
Misc comedy - 10%

Background plot - Excellent
Romantic chemistry - Excellent
Misc comedy - Good
Production value - Excellent

Dear Romance Fans: don't be discouraged by the early episodes, the love story is a MAJOR part of the show (eventually). This drama is definitely a case study in a slow burn romance leading to an extremely explosive endgame.

Contrary to what some folks might've stated, there is really no love triangle (or rectangle, or hexagon, or whatever). Yeah, the FL has a few storylines with other menfolk, but those only serve to enhance her character development (and the ML's character development later on) as well as drive the plot forward. I despise love triangles, but this didn't bother me one bit.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED this one and will definitely re-watch it again, especially episodes 30-38 :-)

New and Improved

So many BLs focus on dramatic plots and scenarios that would never happen in real life and while those have their place and can be quite entertaining, there's something about the simplicity and normalcy of The New Employee that makes it stand out. It's not all burning passion and smoldering looks and kisses, but rather the quiet development of a relationship, realistic trials that any couple might face, and learning how to communicate and make said relationship work. The New Employee is a desperately needed breath of fresh air.

At only 7 episodes, this series had a limited amount of time to bring this story to life, but it did a good job working with that limited time. There were very few if any superfluous scenes, rather it all came together to make the most of it's time to develop its characters. Most of the various plot lines were done well with satisfactory conclusions; only one or two were left hanging. I found the ending to be both wholesome and satisfying. I loved that the four of them came together to create something and with all their talents combined, I can only imagine how successful they'll be. I appreciated the maturity of it. These were two adult men embarking on a new relationship, but that didn't take away from both the excitement of little things like dropping honorifics to say each other's name and the giddiness of holding hands for the first time or the anxiety caused by their first fight and learning how to communicate effectively. There are parts I would have liked to see fleshed out more, but I also didn't feel like there were any glaring holes and the pacing was good, so I really can't complain that much.

Seung Hyun is a late bloomer, a young man in his late twenties still figuring himself out and what he wants to do with his life. He's a relatable character and while he does come across as a tad naive with an almost childlike innocence, he's not childish. His relationship with Jong Chan is his first so he has a lot to learn, but he does, figuring out how to communicate and navigate fights and everything else that comes with a relationship. His struggles didn't feel overblown or exaggerated, but more like what anyone might face.

Jong Chan took the idea of the icy, unfeeling boss and made it his own. He's a focused workaholic, but he's not mean and not abusive. He works hard and while he might not be buddy buddy with his subordinates, he's also not unfeeling and they clearly respect him. His behaviour as a boss is juxtaposed by how he is outside work where he shows a warmth that is especially brought out when he's with Seung Hyun. He's honest and communication is clearly important to him. He keeps no secrets from Seung Hyun and is clear about his faults, freely acknowledging them while also working to overcome them.

Ji Yeon and Kang Hae were so refreshing. Having female characters who were not relegated to serving as the catalyst for one of the main leads figuring out his feelings or acting as a villain was a pleasant surprise. Both women were strong, independent characters who had their own stories and goals. I enjoyed Ji Yeon's and Seung Hyun's friendship and how she'd supported him over the years and his new friendship with Kang Hae and how they worked together was just as enjoyable.

Kwon Hyuk and Ji Yong were both superb in their roles. Their chemistry was so good, subtle and sweet and absolutely perfect for the roles they played. Kwon Hyuk was so good at balancing the focused professional at work with the warm boyfriend. And Ji Yong really brought Seung Hyun to life as a hardworking intern and enterprising ad creator.

The production quality was good. Some of the night scenes could have done with a bit better lighting, but that's really my only complaint, if you can even call it a complaint.

I thoroughly enjoyed The New Employee. It was a very pleasant change from the unnecessarily dramatic and poorly told series I've watched recently and I really cannot recommend it enough. That being said, if you're looking for fireworks and hot NSFW scenes, this is not going to be the drama for you. However, if you enjoy simpler, well told stories with a realistic and sweet romance, you should absolutely watch this. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
