revolting lakorn you should avoid at all costs!

legitimately the worst, most infuriating lakorn i've ever watched. maybe i should have known when the first 1.5 minutes made me wonder if i had pressed play on the wrong episode that the budget and pacing were not going to wow me, but still, i persisted. well, that was a mistake, because i remained disgusted from around ep 10 onwards, and by the end i hated EVERY SINGLE character in this whole show, except possibly ji, and maybe even her too.

you can ignore a lot of absurd plot holes for the sake of a fun story, but this one pushed the boundaries of stupidity at every turn. you won't BELIEVE how dumb these people are. you will guess the twist around episode 3. meanwhile, the MC's don't guess the twist even after they see a VIDEO OF IT!

never getting over the ML cruelly gaslighting FL about her own twin sister's GRUESOME abuse and likely murder, even after he himself sees his brother's domestic violence on tape. this moronic coward isn't even called to action by his own complicity in sa's death, that she had asked ML for help and he turned her away. this man should have been broken, groveling, on his knees, for the rest of his life. the police chief too—gaslighting and ignoring evidence. prejudice against a crime victim....because of something that happened with your mom 20yrs ago? this man should have handed in his badge.

but the ML's treatment of the FL, was particularly repulsive. yes—even for a lakorn. i am NOT easily offended, in fact i actually enjoy toxic tropes on the regular, but this was a travesty. i was yelling at my screen and not in a fun way. this show DOES NOT treat these heavy topics (domestic violence, the silent struggles of women in a misogynistic world) with the respect they deserve. i really thought this show was trying to bait us somehow—that ML was treating FL this way for her own good in a noble idiocy type of way, but nope! even after repetitive bland plot and repetitive bland performances by every actor, i was still giving this show far too much credit and it kept getting worse. ML didn't have a character, he did whatever the script needed him to do in order to move the plot along. FL had zero backbone and consistency, and was doling out forgiveness—to the dregs of humanity around her—like it was on sale at the dollar store.

never before wanted a lead couple to end up together less than here. i wanted her to pack her sh*t and fly to another continent to escape these lunatics.

hellish. i will never get these 17 hours of my life back.

Be ready for a comprehensive script and excellent actors everywhere

Spreading its unique, quite appealing, and in places wittily pointed charisma, "Delightfully Deceitful" surprises with a multi-layered crime fiction, that is set in the milieu of people with extraordinary talents and qualities. Even if the poster may suggest otherwise: it is not a romantic comedy. However, "Delightfully Deceitful" does neither shy away from a little comedy here and there, nor from finely nuanced emotions.

At the beginning there are the personality portraits and relationship dynamics of a bunch of (because of their distinct peculiarities) 'a-social' contemporaries, who as such being colorfully thrown together eventually form a group of their own. With time, though, the plot of the crime story unfolds, raising once more the question of whether law&order have anything to do with justice; or isn´t vigilantism more promising?  In any case, the story revolves around organized crime, unscrupulous villains, malicious fraud and a lot of money.

Nevertheless, there is this bunch of idiosyncratic, unconventional, angular chessmen on the chessboard. Regardless of whether they are psychopathic, sociopathic or hopelessly empathetic, they are all rarely black or white, yet mostly in rich shades of gray. In any case, with their talents they are beyond the social average. While the KDrama could very well surface along at high speed, with a cool and casual esprit, it eventually comes along with a pleasantly profound grounding, since the socio-psychological premise , that we humans are inevitably social beings, swings the baton in the background. The thing is: we want to belong.
Exposure, stigmatization and exclusion also lead to the realization that the rules of the others do not apply to me. This might become associated with some kind of freedom. It also leads to a feeling of loneliness. Yet, the feeling of loneliness inevitably causes humans to slowly but surely wither away. No matter if it may be considered a gift or a burden, stigmatized individuals have to develop a emotional strategy for themselves in order to escape the sometimes more and sometimes less obvious psychological strain. That’s tough for grownups, let alone children...

This premise is handled from different perspectives. Additionally, the KDrama dares the balancing act of mixing this psychodynamic issue with no less complex interwoven crime fiction. Thus, in terms of the genre, the story may initially sail along in foggy realms, but over time the view becomes clearer.

"Delightfully Deceitful" has a well blended mix of spices to offer. Over 16 episodes it is always exciting, intense, opaque, emotional, also dark, sometimes two-fisted. Additionally: Be ready for a comprehensive script and excellent actors everywhere.

somthing is missing

Beautiful storyline with lite storyline.. they have best chemestry. Some things are missing in this drama i really can not point out it. But i fell somthing is off.. i think tht is the reason for this is under rated.. but actully both male leads chemestry was real best and they made us feel.. but the way story written somthing is missing... i mean the way story build up is kind of fail.. and the way they confess also boring. And thire chemestry gone down little vit after that... it would be intresting if they add more romance and cute parts without suddenly dead of grandmother etc et. I mean itz not good timing. And i dont like that flight missing part too actually it is unessosry becoz this is mini drama.. it would be ok if this has more episodes.. i want more romance dude ?

"이 땅의 주인은 니들이 아니야!"

There is a lot more this prequel season could have told, but it certainly doesn't lack the style, passion, and its firecracker personality. I guess we don't have to argue that Kim Beom's undercut, inspired by Peaky Blinders, stole the show. I totally approve of it, I myself have been wearing such for years.

?A wild mix of fantasy, horror, action, noir, comedy, and period drama, a sneak into the culture, history facts, indigenous Korean spirits, zombies, martial arts, and time-traveling, - you can't pull that off flawlessly, but you can make it a passion project with fire in each and every actor's eyes, sparkling a fire in mine as well. How do actions in the past affect the future? How did Ki Yuri end up as a wild gumiho in Siberia if she was a Korean independence movement activist blowing up Japanese officers with regular non-magical TNT? Who the hell is the first mountain god? Even though we didn't get to learn any of that, it doesn't diminish the joy of watching the two reunited brothers trying to beat each other's arse, fooling around, fighting, learning to show their appreciation for each other, bonding, and parting to different centuries to never ever meet again.

?The magnificent instrumental scores of the composer Hong Dae Seong already deserved an Oscar in the first season. They are breathtaking masterpieces no less significant that those in Park Chan Wook's movies. You won't find such tremendous works in other K-dramas. I haven't heard anything like them. The Youth of the Mountain Gods, Parting at the River of Three Crossings, Sad Fate, The Brothers - these instrumentals won't leave my "On Repeat" Spotify playlist soon. Or ever.

Tale of the Nine Tailed is that type of drama that depends heavily on the actors charisma and unique production style. With a few writing improvements I will be happy to see the next season. I have a special thanks for making 1938 a separate show, now it won't get erased from Letterboxd.

CEO drama with mature cast

This is not an idol drama but a mature one that's why some people didn't like it. Vengo Gao was the right fit to play the ML or the CEO in this drama but Zhang Yu Qi not that fit to played the FL who is 27 years old because her look is too mature to be a 27 years old (imo), if they set the FL age to 30 it will be more acceptable. The acting of all the cast is really good and the chemistry between the lead is there. I really like the bromance and bickering between the 3 brothers.

The story is fast pace and it balance between business, family problems and romance but there is a little downside when they played the love triangle trope where the chairwoman niece comeback from abroad and try to take away the ML from the FL and caused unnecessary brake up.

Overall I really enjoy this drama and I hope they produce more drama like this.

Nice cinematography, weak plot/script

Before this drama aired, I was pretty hyped for it bc my fave actor is in it and I watched from ep 1 - 25. I haven't read the novel.
Pros:
- The director used a really pretty filter for the drama, it got some nice shots, good bgm for emotional scenes
- The budget is there, the scale was quite big and I can see their efforts with rescue/fire fighting/hospital scenes
- Decent performances from other supporting actors/actresses

Cons:
- Some scenes and lines came off as preachy, "textbook" and unnatural
- Character developments for the 2 leads are quite weak and unclear. I get that characters should have weakness and shouldn't be perfect but damn, these 2 are quite unlikeable. Some of their lines and actions were questionable. Ik there are reasons for their actions but the director didn't show it clearly enough so that viewers can understand the characters.
- The YY's acting was stiff and emotionless. And idk why he kept frowning all the time. WCR was a bit better, especially in sad scenes, but she's a bit one-note and inconsistent.

A truly amazing Cdrama the best so far this year and I dare say maybe the best Asian drama as well

If you're looking forward to re-experience the innocent crush and first love that ends up to a happy ending with two beautiful eye-candy amazing actors with super heart fluttering chemistry then this is the one you're looking for!! The transition from the young FL to the adult version was very smooth the crush on the older ML made sense the cute interactions between both and the supporting characters is amazing. The story in itself is veryyy beautiful the character were all well written, it is a very bright light drama however it has some sad parts that were quickly solved to keep things simple. The siblings relationship was also so cute and real. I couldn't find anything to nitpick on to be very honest. The casting was on point. Lusi is an amazing actress she was able to portray the innocence, rebellious phase of teens and shyness of having your first crush. Then the maturity, growing up and fighting for her independence and being a strong support to her ML. Chen zheyuan was also exceptional I didn't watch much of his works but he is very good he delivered the emotions on point his eyes were everything! The smiles, the eyes, the look. He did amazing. Both of them had an amazing chemistry on screen and off screen. There wasn't one moment that made you feel cringy or disturbed. It was a beautiful transition from a pure one sided love to a mature relationship between two adults. Everyone who watches the drama won't be able to forget it. It is very worth the watch!!!

The most relatable school drama

I found this drama by accident after buying an IQIYI membership, this drama had just finished and was in the top 1. Finally, I tried watching Chinese dramas, at that time I hadn't watched many Chinese dramas and watched Korean dramas more often.

The first impression that I felt while watching this drama was studying. Yep, this drama has 50% of the scene when the main character is studying. The two main actors in this drama are always studying, and that's quite relatable in my opinion because when I was at school studying was the activity we did most often. Even though I don't have a deskmate like Si Yue :'D

And yeah, because of this drama, I also like Chen Zhe Yuan and Rainbow Xu. And because of this drama, I watched the drama Twenty Your Life On Season 2 because I wanted to see Rainbow Xu. I like the acting of both of them which feels flowing. And, I feel the character development of the main character is very good. We can feel that we are growing together with the two main characters. Especially for Ding Xian's character, she is one of my favorite female characters in dramas.

Ding Xian was not born beautiful, smart, or rich. We can really relate to Ding Xian because she is like an ordinary student. She is very ordinary, not very good, but not bad. Ding Xian wasn't quiet, but she wasn't chatty either. Ding Xian wasn't friendly, but not too fierce either. Actually, everything in him is average. That's what made Ding Xian's character easily agitated at the start, apart from being from a small town, she was also insecure with himself which was very ordinary when she moved to a big city. When she was in his city she was a smart student, but when she moved she immediately became an ordinary person and even she was left behind.

Ding Xian's character really shows that hard work can be done by anyone. Whereas Si Yue's character shows Ding Xian that hard work is good, but we also have to work smart, that way all the time and effort we have put in is more effective and efficient. Actually, we must have met someone like Si Yue in the real world. A born intelligent person, he didn't need to study as hard as Ding Xian to reach his position. But I think that's where it's interesting, Ding Xian's jealous of Si Yue is a natural thing, but Ding Xian has a wide heart, the envy she has doesn't make him fall instead it makes him even more excited.

In my opinion, even though it looks like Ding Xian is totally obsessed with Si Yue to the point of following the major Si Yue wants. In fact, I think that if Ding Xian doesn't meet Si Yue, she won't be able to find his own way. Ding Xian doesn't follow Si Yue but tries to find her way while following Si Yue, the person she admires. It was interesting because Ding Xian's character development was really very good. Girls who only know to study, do not understand social life and withdraw. When she grew up Ding Xian developed into a much better human being. Ding Xian who always tries to be there for Si Yue. It was Ding Xian who became strong, so when she was in college it was Ding Xian who reached out her hand to help Si Yue. Of all things, nothing could beat Ding Xian's tenacity.

Si Yue is not a character I like, he has poor emotional control and likes to keep things to herself. But I like it when this story presents a problem for the 'perfect Si Yue', and that problem is related to financial problems which are very related to everyday life. We are mature by circumstances, maybe that is the right sentence to describe this drama.

While watching this drama I feel happy and also sad. I am sad to see Ding Xian has to repeat her third grade to reach her dream university. But I'm happy because, in the end, everything will be beautiful in its time. Ding Xian and Si Yue's struggles finally coincide with each other. They are both warrior characters.

Maybe this drama isn't the best Chinese drama I've ever watched, but this drama is a Chinese drama with a school theme that I like the most.

Another lovely Zhu Yi adaptation

Same author who wrote Hidden Love (Secretly, Secretly, Unable to Hide) also wrote this one.

The novel's title is "She's A Little Crazy." I think that about sums up the drama. The actress does a wonderful job being a little crazy, but not annoying. It's the very typical high pitched nasal cutesy Asian female voice, but I think because she's so positive, it's not annoying.

Lots of comedy, lots of heartwarming moments.

ML did a wonderful job getting into character. He's quite different in "Falling Into Your Smile." Although the FL does 98% of the talking and the ML 2%, his lines are well delivered, perfectly timed. I think it's just as hard to play a quiet role because the acting is completely done by micro facial expressions and getting the right aura. The actor nailed it.

Music is mostly pleasantly retro, sometimes cheesy but really only where it needs to be.

Long time not found very enjoyable historical drama. This drama make me laugh & cry with them.

The story start from a girl named Liu Yu Ru (YR) that comes from business family, that even though she is the legitimate daughter, but her father prefer & more love her step sisters (from Concubine). So from the injustice in her home, she plans her future life where she can married to good family so she can support her mom, Ye family is her goal. But life turn upside down when she meet Gu Jiu Si (JS), a playful rich man, that never have consequence for his action including everything that come out from his mouth. As the result, YR find herself engaged to JS in the end. And their story begin.... ^^

At first of course YR try to avoid her destiny to married to JS, but in the end she accept her fate & finally she even manage to change JS. Her action of course supported by JS's parent that also want to see their son change into better man. Mean while there's a man in the shadow that ready to turn their world upside down, together with the changing politic in the capital city, that make Gu family loses their support. In this drama we see how support from family & friend, together with clever & smart decision from YR & JS make their journey full of story that we can watch together. Haha...

What I like:
+ What I really like about YR is what ever life give her, she take it, try her best & sometimes even punch life back in its face. Haha... Really like how in the end she really can stand & make the power for herself.
+ The chemistry between Bai Jing Ting & Song Yi quite good. Love to see they love each other, not to the point lovey dovey but enough for us to feel their love for each other.
+ Bai Jing Ting give us good performance for JS. We can sense that even though people see him as aloof rich man, but he is kind man & later on we can see how he grow up become smart & mature man.
+ All the friendship JS, Ye Shi An, Zhou Ye & Shen Ming is one solid friend, they willing to do their best to support their friend. We also have Fan Xuan & Zhou Gao Lang, (the emperor & his right hand man) even though in the end they kinda grow apart, but that also one lifetime friendship.
+ How love never make people stupid here. Like even though Luo Zi Shang (ZS) love YR, but he never stop or even pause his plan even for the sake of YR herself.
+ We can see the strong woman here. Like YR & Ye Yun (YY). How YY herself also turn herself around after what Wang Shan Quan did to her.

Now the minus:
- They never really give the deep background of our villain, ZS, Never at least until the last episode we finally understand why he did it & where the grudge come from. And that just one stupid misunderstanding in the end,
- The obsession of Fan Yu to become emperor never really explained. His swift in the character is the one that make my eyebrow raised the most. I know this not a story about him, so we don't get too much explanation about him. maybe if the episode longer we gonna get some explanation about this. But I mean how a boy that at one time really trust, adore JS & I can say a good kind hearted boy can change to become jealous, sentiment and all the obsession about the throne itself. Maybe the explanation lays in the last interaction between him & his father, where we can see how hurt he is that his father is more trust JS than him as his son.

Overall this really one good drama that I enjoy very much...

They show us how to be happy adults

A variety show about funny best friends hanging out: there are dumb moments, random jokes and contagious laughter! Shen Yue and the wild boar family are so chill, wholesome and funny together, friendship goals! Episode 2 onwards is more lively. They love to laugh, it's like they're in touch with their inner-child and watching them is a mood booster. Shen Yue is not only adorable and pretty af, but also her personality is amazing so no wonder her friends are lovely too. Personally, they remind me to not take things too seriously, laugh and have fun with my friends. I hope there's a season 2 'cause the world needs more of their silliness ? Actually the world really needs to know about this funny happy wild boar family !

increasingly intricate, blending elements of revenge and deception into a captivating narrative

Delightfully Deceitfully is a gripping Korean drama series consisting of 16 episodes, centered around a group of con artists with a female lead as their charismatic leader. The story unfolds at a fast and engaging pace, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. With each passing minute, the plot becomes increasingly intricate, blending elements of revenge and deception into a captivating narrative.

While the series excels in many aspects, one minor drawback lies in the portrayal of Kim Dong Wook as the male lead. Unfortunately, his performance falls somewhat flat, as his character, a lawyer, fails to deliver the depth and excitement that the story demands. Moreover, his voice tone remains disappointingly similar to his previous roles, which hampers the distinctiveness of his character.

Fortunately, Chun Woo Hee shines brilliantly as the female lead, injecting the series with a magnetic energy that elevates the overall viewing experience. Her portrayal of the leader of the con artist group adds an extra layer of intrigue, making the series even more enthralling.

In addition to the main cast, the supporting characters play crucial roles in advancing the storyline. Their contributions are significant, weaving a complex web of relationships and motivations that enhance the overall depth of the plot.

Overall, Delightfully Deceitfully is a must-watch drama for fans of the con genre. Despite a lackluster performance from the male lead, Chun Woo Hee's captivating portrayal and the well-crafted story will keep you hooked until the very end.

Short And Sweet

There's A Few Concepts I Really Love About This Show. It Wasn't A Typical Kisses Someone Else Show. It Reminds Me Of The Japanese Style Of Cute Boy Love. It's Simply Love Nothing Less Nothing More. It Wasn't Over The Top With Drama. The Couple Is Just A Couple. There Wasn't Alot Of Dark Moments It Was Sugary Sweet. So If Your Looking For Something Light And Cute This Is It. I've Seen A Lot Of Boy Love And Its Always The One's I Don't Expect That End Up Drawing Me In. I Liked It Alot. It Has A Way Of Keeping Your Eyes On The Show. It's Impossible To Stop Once You Start!

Come in with no expectations and you'll have a fun time!

Honestly I have nothing actually negative to say about this show. First and foremost, I come into BLs wanting to see cute boys be cute together and a somewhat decent plot and a good time. This show pretty much delivered! The story is not groundbreaking in any way, but it's a cute little show to watch for a bit and get your BL satisfaction in. I appreciate how they kept things simple honestly. The only thing I wondered during the show was "damn none of these people got better things to do?" cause the main issue of the story is really not that deep but it's also the biggest deal ever which i guess. all in all i recommend! It's also short which is a huge plus
