Personally, I really enjoyed this show. I think this show does a really good job in bringing the fantasy part to life. The characters were all really unique and the plot of the story line was simple and very understandable.

The costuming for the female lead was a little strange, she didn't have any pants on for some reason. And I don't think that the director really cared about the side characters because they all only have like one outfit that they constantly wear throughout the entire show.

Another issue that I had in this show was Qi Pa's character. To start off, she has a really strange and weird name. Not only that but I didn't really like her character. She expects Kui Mulang to do all the work in chasing her and pursuing her and making her feel happy. Even when she was at fault, she still expected him to come see her. Personally if their love is mutual then she needs to put in some work and effort.

action combined with romance

the action combined with romcom is my favorite type of kdrama, so that's why i absolutely loved it. the storyline is so evenly split between action and romance that i just kept watching. the main actress in abyss also plays in other kdrama's with this sort of vibe and she fits right in. i can't really think of any negative stuff to say, except that it could probably become a little boring at times.

i sincerely recommend this to anyone who loves a little thrill both because of the storyline and the romance! it's also a very good kdrama for beginners to watch.

Some wet dreams should never be shared in the open

Three and a half episodes and I call it quits. Few of the stories I've seen over my years on this planet were as bland as this cringefest. There is nothing even remotely sexy or romantic in this show and five year olds would probably be more mature than this lot of characters.

Cliche after cliche, a doormat for a FL, a kid pretending to be a mature man for a ML, and a non-existent story that looks slapped together at the last minute. Japanese shows don't shy away from uncomfortable topics and perhaps this show/manga was aiming to be something of that kind. But the result is 9½ Weeks for kids, though suggestive scenes make this show not really suitable for them.

Symbolic 3.5 stars for the effort, but not recommended.

For my Drama Kings and Queens

I have never related more on a spiritual level.

I have never downloaded a soundtrack so fast (Getsunova really said "I'm going to hurt you in Thai AND English, so buckle up buttercup).

I have never cried and laughed so much in an individual episode.

I have never rooted so hard for the shitty MLI to get their sh!t together and dive head first into their redemption arc so he can be worthy of the soft, pjnkng, deserved-better-from-the-start MC.

I have never had so many relatable moments of Dramatic B!tch™ to feel called out over.

I have never made up so many memes and in-jokes with my bestie over ONE show and friend group of characters.

I have never had an instant favourite show 2 episodes in like this.

I will never recommend anything this strongly.
Besties that want to gush or do a rewatch together, please, reach out. I still have so feelings so many years later.

It's for giggles. Only.

I can't get over how humorous this series of queer unfortunate events was. I will never get over it.
Take nothing seriously, expect no deep and life-changing lessons and experiences for the characters.
Expect Shakespearean miscommunication and all sorts of awkward and fumbling "will they/ won't they" moments. The confusion of a queer awakening is top notch. Definite recommendation for a good laugh. If the opening doesn't hook you, you broke your sense of humour, move on to something a little more serious.

IT GOT REAL

if you're looking for the angst and internal struggle from the first season... abandon those expectations now, with immediate effect. it got so real and so deep and so realistic so quickly. I laughed, I cried, I fumed, I held out all the hope for the HEA that Korn and Knock (and the viewer) deserved and I was not disappointed. the chemistry between Thul and Max will have you forget they aren't really an item, so be careful of that (but the knscreen relationship is more than enough). you've got to fight for love, regardless of who your partner is and whether their the opposite or same sex. I applaud the screenwriters for how well they handled it all and brought the mature dynamic of an adult relationship (let's ignore the childish antics of their plotting and scheming to fix shit for a second) it was much appreciated and needed. bless Thai media for seeing and serving the queers, I see and appreciate you ❤️

written for the GenX and Millenial LGBTQIA+ community. fair warning.

I did not stop laughing from the first episode. I have lived so much of these characters' lives and struggles myself so it was all sorts of relatable to me personally. perfect for a good laugh and nostalgia of uni days and the mess of just after. all the fumbling around and tiptoeing and awkward encounters in an "LGBTQIA+ friendly, but not really" city/country. forgetting that the heterosexual and cisgender population was so on brand for me and my own friend group. zero complaints and all the recommendations.

Love this one.

Very cute and realistic. Small firm, dependent on star employees. Petty squabbles that affect whole careers. Ignorant upper management used to pushing away anything that they don't want to deal with.

Having worked corporate. Having experienced what many of these characters go through...I could relate. Loved how the romance came about. Understated. Quiet.

Loved how they showed the levels of maturity in each character. And, I appreciated that Choi Si-hun's character never figured out that Woo Seung Hyun had a thing for him. To be that oblivious showed his callous side and how much he was into himself. As BL's gain strength and make more money - we will see the episodes get longer and larger in quantity. But, I never felt any of the character's were underdeveloped. This will always be one I can bounce back to when I am in the mood for it.

Tough one. Stuck with it - Kinda...

This one was a tough one to watch. In the beginning, some of the characters are so irritating that I was disappointed to find that they would be a love interest or, still in the story 4 episodes later. I thought, casting wise, this group was a bit of a mess. Maybe, closer to reality? But, I just couldn't see the two leads together - at all. She was so mean and so unforgiving. He went out of his way to continue to patronize her business, replace the phone, etc. and she still couldn't let anything go. Who cares if we see a character show regret if they don't follow through? A character should not be rewarded for being a thorn in someone's side.

As usual - some stellar performances - the only reason I watched a portion of every episode. , Ji Dong-hee (Shin Jae-ha) was brilliant. To change his personality on a dime like that - perfect. I could understand why he chose to die in the end. All the actors/actresses for the high school characters were perfect. Lee Chae-Min's breakdown while taking the exam was perfection - you really felt what he was going through.

Jeon Do-yeon's Nam Haeng-soon and Jung Kyung-ho's Choi Chi-yeol - did not work for me. I could not get to the point of accepting that they were suitable for each other as a couple. I could see them helping each other out in their own ways but, it would have been nicer to see them end up with other people. The late addition of the true mother was a waste of time on everyone's part. It wasn't even needed - especially, since she had zero redeeming qualities. Jae-Woo(Oh Eui-Sik) - eh - did not like that his issues all pertained to what the story needed to keep moving. Writer's convenience = lazy.

Also, regardless if it is life-like or, what - just because characters are together in a scene - you don't have to fill every waking moment with their nonstop conversation. I got to the point every time certain characters showed up - I knew I could fast forward through their whole time and not miss a single thing.

Really hated how hard the writers worked at making the whole cast have a happy, fairytale existence in the end. Villain? Takes his own life. Leads? Happy successful life. Teens? Exciting happy college life - not a speck or, mention of therapy or, how they healed anywhere. Parent's - awful to the core - ruined people's lives? All forgiven. Ruined and nearly put your own children in the hospital or, the morgue? All forgiven. Ruined marriages because you focused on all the wrong things? No worries.

Thank goodness for the fast forward button.

firstkhao meus pais??

PLS...I was stressed...but I LOVED this concept for a dati g show

...i need a therapist after watching this. So the contestants are living together for a month-ish...and every person has screen time except for Yena. Gurly is either only shown cooking, drying hair for the other girls or being their source of confort. Literally...for the first 8 episodes (10 in total) I was like...how does no one have romantic interest in her...she's perfect...and she had so little screentime because of that lack of couple interaction. Then in the last 2 ep...suddenly...she decides to go after a guy...and he starts liking hef back...ditching another girl who had feelings for him for her. But then at the end when he chose her...she was like "i still need more time" and ended up choosing no one. Like pls...why do they gotta hurt me like this. For 8 ep she has no one...and she finally got a guy and gurly said she wasnt ready...and rejected him after she flirted with him and made him leave the other girl. Like Yena didn't do it intentionally and she would never steal another girls guy...but he fell for her...and it's just kinda sad she didnt hold on to him after like flirting with him and making him fall for her.
ANYWAYS...imma go watch another show to distract me from the tragic ending of this couple T__T

Layers upon layers

Aug 2023
Why did I wait so long to watch this?
I really enjoyed the pace and intrigue, and binged in a day, staying up 'til silly o'clock.
Great mix of characters, with the 3 sisters it centres around being each very different.
It really was gripping drama with some well placed, but nothing standing out as being really childish, humour.
The story twists and turns, with more layers than an onion.
All 3 sisters end up entwined with one ultra powerful, sociopathic family.
The story follows their struggle to unearth past and present secrets, lies and fraud.
More than a few surprises along the way.
There were a few times when things got more than a little ridiculous and characters did do truly stupid things for the circumstances they were in, but overall it's not badly written and is a pretty intelligent story.
I'd have liked more on the youngest sister, as I felt her character's story was sacrificed somewhat for the main plot.
I also wish one particular character had a more fitting end; they didn't suffer nearly enough for my liking.
I adored Choi Do-il, played by Wi Ha-joon; a great character that kept me guessing to the very end.
Well worth a watch.
