Can't move on

It is one of my hang out with with friends and neighbors to watch all Zhao Lusi's drama. She portrayed her part in this drama amazingly. and all her dramas, I could say that I started being addicted of C-dramas because of her but only her drama that we watch. and take note, we are adults and mothers and we watch as family and as friendly bonding with friends.

I see many haters of Zhao Lusi but this makes her loyal fans love her more. She's a versatile actress and beautiful. I could say she's the only Chinese actress whom I like watching.

really enjoyed

this was a good story after finishing this drama I was thinking what one did I like better cutie pie or naughty babe. but naughty babe did it for me, I enjoyed the chemistry between the 2 main leads. even though their was only 8 eps, each episode showed the storyline and had emotional sides, funny sides and the loving sides of each main lead and to get their background story it all fit perfectly within these 8 episodes. the directors topped it off nicely with the wedding and showing u them years down the line where they have children and have became a proper wee family.

but I did like hia yi with the dog they just has a love & hate relationship.

review

I liked main leads but thought the chemistry between them wasn't that great. it felt more like they were best friends rather than they were in love with each other.

story-it was not to bad the story but I think it could have been better. there was some scenes in the drama that didn't need to be in it. the story felt rushed near the end where it felt they tried to put so much into one episode where I think if some scenes were not in the drama they could have made the story a bit more exciting. (this is only my personal opinion, everyone will have their own about the series.)

I do enjoy watching ohm he is one of my fave bl actors but don't see him in alot of dramas for bl.

the acting was OK I did enjoy a good few scenes with ohm especially when you seen him show proper emotions he played those parts really well.

rewatch- I don't think I would rematch it.

but I would still watch both main leads in other dramas.

A Riveting and Realistic Crime Drama Set in the 1990s

CHAT-GPT4 writing review for The Worst of Evil (2023):

The Worst of Evil is a gripping and gritty crime drama that takes the viewers on a thrilling ride through the dark underworld of drug trafficking in the 1990s. The show boasts a stellar cast, a captivating plot, and a realistic portrayal of the era.

The acting and cast are one of the strongest points of the show. Ji Chang Wook delivers a powerful performance as Park Joon Mo, a police officer who goes undercover to infiltrate a mega crime syndicate that distributes illegal drugs across South Korea, China, and Japan. He shows his versatility and range as he switches between his dual identities and faces various challenges and dangers. Wi Ha Joon is equally impressive as Jung Ki Chul, a former DJ who becomes the mastermind behind the new drug Gangnam Crystal. He exudes charisma and menace as he rules the nightclubs and the streets with his ruthless ambition. Im Se Mi shines as Yoo Eui Jung, Joon Mo's wife and a narcotics officer who is also involved in the mission. She portrays her character's strength, vulnerability, and complexity with skill and grace. The chemistry between the leads is palpable and their relationship adds an emotional layer to the story. The supporting cast is also excellent, especially Bae Myung Jin as Bae Yong Dae, Joon Mo's loyal friend and partner, and Dok Go Young Jae as Song Dong Hyuk, the veteran police chief who oversees the operation.

The music of the show is another highlight. The soundtrack features songs from the 1990s that fit the mood and atmosphere of the scenes. The songs range from upbeat and catchy to melancholic and haunting, reflecting the different emotions and themes of the show. Some of the memorable songs include "Gangnam Style" by PSY, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M., and "Creep" by Radiohead.

The story of the show is well-written and well-paced. The plot is full of twists and turns that keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. The show explores various issues such as corruption, loyalty, betrayal, love, revenge, and redemption. The show also does a great job of recreating the 1990s era with its costumes, props, settings, and references. The show does not shy away from depicting the violence and brutality of the drug world, but it also balances it with moments of humor and warmth.

The re-watch value of the show is high. The show has many layers and details that can be appreciated more with repeated viewings. The show also has a satisfying and surprising ending that makes the viewers want to revisit the journey of the characters.

Overall, The Worst of Evil is a must-watch for fans of crime dramas. It is a quality production that showcases the talents of its cast and crew. It is a show that will keep you hooked from start to finish. I give it 9 out of 10 stars.

Simply Sweet

This one gave me Hometown Cha Cha Cha vibes - only it was set in the countryside, not the seaside. There wasn’t too much of a story to it which I felt was kind of expected.

I liked the interactions between the ML and the other guy. The looks that were served were quite amusing. I also liked the Ajummas as they were funny too. The little children were sweet. The animals were cute - I liked that the ML was a vet. I’m curious though as to how much police work got done by the FL as she seemed to be more of a helping hand than a policewoman - although I guess there isn’t much crime to be committed in such a small town.

I don’t get why the FL didn’t just say, “hey, don’t you remember me?” to the ML. Instead she just got grumpy at him for not remembering who she was. I mean, it had been 15 years since they last saw each other.

I’m glad the romance only came about towards the end as otherwise it would have been very rushed for such a short drama. The few short moments we got to see of them together were simply sweet.

The ex-girlfriend business seemed a bit out of place, but as with any drama there had to be a ‘complication.’

bae Suzy u queen ?

Bae suzy is one of a kind, guys. she is versatile and pure magic on the screen. I have seen ALL of her dramas. and I have always loved her characters, always something new to offer and bring to the table. Never repetitive or boring. the drama is a good slice of life slow burn romance. the characters are ALL v lovable
there could have been some betterment in the execution and writing, bcs some scenes felt empty, and it got v slow at times, to the point it got frustrating. but this has value for sure. bae suzy defo brings so much flavor to it.

UNDERWHELMING AF

ep 1-7, hella potential.
ep 8-12 absolutely ass
what was this shitty af plot. you wasted all the potential it held. and for heaven's sake write a better female lead. this was a humiliation, lmao
the plot was underwhelming, all over the place and just not it. gicheul's character went from being cool to absolutely pathetic and foolish real fast. like wtf bro. they worked hard on Junmo's arc and that's it. that too towards the end was so easy and lame. overall very disappointed. the characters could have been written in more depth. but no. gicheul was like a child who was stuck on a crush. the FL despite being such a high ranked officer was shown as a useless girl in a teen drama stuck in love triangle. WRITE BETTER FL AND BETTER CHARACTERS OVERALL

One of the best of its crime A MUST WATCH.........

Its one of the best drama of the year with a very powerful and effective cast , especially the male leads - they both are fantastic and up to the mark for their role , Female leads are also good , BIBI is more effective in the drama with her acting and all other scenes ( something i don't want to spoil but is there in the drama ) . The acting , the violence , the action and the brutal emotions looks so real and effective again the male leads are amazing and will never disappoint . The only downside is the underwhelming ending and some open threads which weren't closed properly in the last 2 episode , but if u think about it , the ending offered to us also makes a lot of sense . Don't take it as a bad ending show it defiantly worth to watch but a little anticlimactic .

So unique and fresh!

I love love loveee the vibe of this series! It's so unique!

And the chemistry between the actors? Honestly so smooth and real you can't get enough of it.
It's like from the very first moment you know they both care for each other but simply don't know how to show it and are not so good in communicating their own emotions.

Everything's wrapped in that very specific vibe to it and while some may hate it and feel like there's so many things in plot that are missing, I'm a big fan of it.
So many things left unspoken but shown by their actions.

Sometimes you don't need to say something out loud - you can show it in many other ways and I feel like this series is all about it. All about two people so misunderstood by words that they no longer trust them. They have trust only in actions and that's what they're doing. Showing love in this specific way that only they themselves can understand.

I could rewatch 100 times over

I am so happy I took a chance to watch this masterpiece. I really enjoyed the depth of the series. The stress of the BL industry and Ship-culture puts on these men to uphold a fake relationship is disturbing. I understand it’s a responsibility but people have to be realistic. They are actors, this is their job but they have a personal life that should stay personal. Co-Stars date all the time, it’s nothing new but it should happen naturally.

Anywho, rant over! Chemistry ✔️Budget ✔️ Acting ✔️

Gene and Nubsib were such a treat to watch! Nubsib loved that man to pieces from a young age but I can see that Gene’s love morphed from brotherly to romantically over time. I see the age gap being mentioned but no lines were crossed, it was wonderfully written!

Great character development

This is a great lighthearted series. I enjoyed the characters but Bai Lang did a fantastic job!! His portrayal of severe anxiety disorder and the inner battle that is sometimes fought due to overthinking, beautiful!!

Watching as he and Xun’an’s relationship progresing, Lang eventually letting down his guard and letting him in. I feel his guilt for what happened to his parents had to be such a burden for him. That guilt cause a lot of fear and I could resonate with him as he pushed Xun’an away. I have been there before and Bia Long’s character was everything to me. I loved watching him battle Ye for Xun’an. Bai Lang is fiesty AF and once he had Xun’an, he wasn’t letting him go. LOVED IT!

Getting their happy ending was tough. Xun’an put in a lot of work. Trigger warning tho, there is a case of physical assault between a father and son. In this case, the son was pleading for his boyfriends acceptance since Bai Lang was an orphan and he wanted him to have a complete family. Poor thing endured excessive kneeling and being beaten with a cane for what seems like a month. I was a bit worried that would have triggered an episode from Bai but thankfully it didn’t.

When it comes to the chemistry, I feel as if it started well but fizzled. That’s only due to the kissing being awful. They tried to make it better with angles but towards the end there, they let some awful lip locking be seen in full view…yikes! Don’t get me wrong, they were definitely cute together, and the side couples were just as enjoyable to watch. I really enjoyed I Qi and Alex’s relationship. I was hoping for a bit more but I guess I will just have to settle for Alex’s last flirtatious line.

10/10, would definitely watch again!

It has been one year with a heartbroken

It has been one year since I got my heartbroken because of this I literally cried that sunday morning and went to threat tvN for always give us bittersweet endings, anyways I still can't get over.

To be honest, I find that this drama has it all, good plot, good acting performance and above all good music. Each weekend it got me waiting for the next episode and I even cried in a few, I felt so identified with Na HeeDo, the fact she missed his father so much and was looking sad seeing the relationship Yurim got with her father, it reminds me to myself.

Apart for the fact I felt a conexion with Heedo's character and even if I didn't like the ending it was a good drama, which reflects all the hardships prople can have while growing up and how this affects their relationship, even the ending was kinda realistic (I don’t like realistic endings at all btw, I watch dramas to escape from reality, its a little bit childish, but this is how I think) the fact they couldn't overcome the hardships their relationship went through and other ones could, makes me angry, but I guess it was my fault for having high expectations since the first episode aired, thinking they would do something to make Baek Yijin the father, but well, now I'm not able to listening to 2521 by Jaurim without feel so emotional and even cry just a little bit, btw I don't know if this is overhyped, but the fact I was commenting with all the people here about the ending, makes me think it was something that linked people, for me, this was an excellent drama that never got boring. So if you like realistic endings, and even if you dont like the, you should give this a a chance. ^^

Breakfast at Tiffanys's inspired k-drama

Doona is a slice of life drama with a very carefully built slightly melancholic ambience. Fantastic acting from Suzy and Yang Se Jong. This reminded me of Age of Youth, which I like a lot. Especially the second couple. Maybe it was somewhat difficult to relax bc from the beginning it was kinda clear there would be no happy ending. But all the time I when I was watching I was getting Breakfast at Tiffanys vibes. There were definitely similarities, but that just made me appreciate this drama more. Especially Yang Se Jong's character was very similar to Breakfast at Tiffany's male lead, outsider-ish, ordinary and rooted. Suzy's character was unconventional and slighly unbalanced like Audrey Hepburn in BaT. Also, both were tied to a man from their pasts. I really enjoyed this a lot and I think the writer and director created a very good, unconventional k-drama. I'd give a Daesang for Suzy for her role. I know more trashy and popular dramas will get the awards make the headlines, but I guess that's okay, since this was just right for me.

Solid storyline, solid plot, solid character writing.

I'll say one thing: I generally don't like costume dramas and dramas with petty concubines. I also dislike "forced/arranged marriage that turns into real love" dramas. But I liked this one a lot, which must mean something.

The characters were very well-written. Even the minor ones had a reason to exist in the story. The story was not very original, but it was different from other similar situations because neither the ML nor the FL begged to be loved, which was refreshing. The "married without love" premise may be the center of the plot, but the story doesn't really revolve around it. The ML and FL had a life and a complete personality both before and after their wedding and they also had to solve numerous problems that weren't related to their marriage. The interations among the various household characters and their friends and enemies was well-written and believable.

There was some exaggerated acting and some exaggerated sub-plots but they didn't manage to break the show.

Amazing production quality, decent acting considering their lack of acting experience

Jung Wookjin and Lee Yungsoo were able to play their characters very well. I was quite surprised to see the two act together so well. The chemistry was there, with that there was no awkwardness when it came to the more intimate scenes.

Acting:
They really surpassed my expectations if I’m being honest. Especially Wookjin, he was quite outstanding compared to the rest. I felt as though I was watching an experienced actor at moments during his scenes. Although they weren’t the “off-the-charts” kind of actors, the two of them did a phenomenal job considering the fact that they have no prior acting experience. Great job to the two of them. As well as the other members, they also did a decent job, despite some scenes lacking and being slightly cringe worthy, they too did great for a first time acting gig.

Music:
The music throughout the drama was great! Usually when a song is played at the wrong time or when the song doesn’t match the scene it will stick out like a sore thumb, but there was none of that here. Every song and instrumental felt right in each moment.

Story: The story line was an interesting one, nothing too special about it. But I feel that the actors were able to play each character well despite how strange some can seem. There were the ups and downs like every story does and everything was timed well. It didn’t feel too rushed even when it’s a short 2 hour drama.

Overall a great production and a fun little drama to watch, would recommend you try it out!

- A Fellow LyOn
