AND THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS…

Acceptance and Equality… no matter your background, status or situation. A decent drama that did not disappoint. Personally, it takes me a while to watch most C-Dramas because there are SO MANY episodes. This had a good story and overall message to relay throughout. However, if a show steers off course even just a little bit, I’ll loose interest and unfortunately, find myself skipping ahead a few scenes. Although, this one had it’s “moments” I still enjoyed the backstory of the ML, the academy setting, and the little emperor himself was a fun character to watch. I also couldn’t get over how tall General Hang (actor Xie Bin Bin) is, it took me awhile to realize he was also in Prince of Tennis. Of course, the martial arts is always a plus for me to watch. Even the villains were pretty “crazy” I couldn’t believe half the things they were getting away with… Geeeeez!

My happy pill for the past few weeks. I could never turn down watching Cha Tae Hyun.

Likes
1. Yu Dongman and Kang Sunho's mentor-student relationship was one of the best things in this drama. Like they said in the last episode, Sunho found his family and friends because of him while Dongman felt young and alive again after meeting Sunho.
2. The romance between Sunho and Kanghee, from their meet cute, to Kanghee imagining Sunho with puppy face, the red bracelet, breakup and getting back together. The only downside is Kanghee breaking up with him during the time he needed her the most and Park Min Kyu's character who was wasted here.
3. Besties Bum Tae and Junwook, the love triangle and how they suppored Sunho and Kanghee during the whole drama.
4. Sunho and his relationship with his father was one of the things that got me emotionally hooked during the first few episodes.
5. Probably one of the best written endings where every one's story was neatly wrapped up.
6. Also loved the OST esp Get Ready and Love Your Everything

Dislikes
1. A few episodes where the illegal gambling story got sidetracked because of the twists and turns but didnt mind because we got more focus on the romance and bromance. I did appreciate that the bad guy wasnt that bad at all. But the end didnt justify the means esp when youre breaking the law and hurting other people.
2. Baekhee was too unnatural and over the top with her acting.

Rating: 9/10 (8.5 for the story +.5 for how this drama made me feel)

What an amazing little story!

I loved how everything develop, and the way love is something that you feel, and it really does transcend genders. It just put your world upside down in a min. The story is simple but meaningful, and it has the most beautiful deep moments and those small details that just steal your heart away. They way their love develops is so beautifully shown, it just breaks your heart and put it back together at the same time. I find their chemistry pretty cute, and I am looking forward to watching the second season already!!

Totally Unreaaaal

Ok to start with my review I just want to say that I didn't plan to watch this one at first. Because I actually started to watch Stand by Me and I just want to say it didn't impress me(yet- currently at ep3). I didn't really get the vibe of noble/monarch of ChengYi in SbM so I paused that and check this one out. And huraaaaah

Rewatch value @8:
Because its too long for me to watch the whole series but if just snippets I'm in

Favorite parts:
1. The early parts: SiFeng's reaction towards contact with XuanJi (he's so hot and bothered haha)
2. When they had a misunderstanding abt XuanJi liking her senior and they cleared it up. His face when he learned the truth?
3. SiFeng teaching XuanJi how to chase away guys who hits on her (I remember the cute video of a korean kid and her mom teaching her)
4. I also like that they only play snippets of the 9 lives they shared together and not a full blown several eps. He's so pitiful and so inlove with her
5. The Jade Emperor just chillin' and asking questions like its no big deal haha

Whuut moments:
•Ok so I was at the ep30 when I saw a clip(wc is around the end part) where Rahu Ketu became XuanJi. I was like whuuuuuut, all this time SiFeng likes a man, so is this kinda like a bl at the start hehe. So after patiently watching the rest of eps to get the explanation I still can't with the shock I received from that clip haha
•LingLong and WuTong tho, man I'm always tense when they show the both of them. I hate rape scenes so I'm always at the edge 'cause he's like full-on "I wanna eat you" kinda face. Is he gonna do it? Naw, probably gonna do it now. Hoping he's not gonna do it. Maybe it was chopped while on the run. Meh

buckets of tears man just buckets (and not all sad either)

They just did everything so well. I can't comprehend how much work the actors and production staff put in to make all 150 episodes so impactful, they didn't slip off at any point even though it's such a big project. This genre of "journey through life" isn't my favourite but I loved it nonethless. And the interracial relationship and the problems mixed couples face was really done well. The support characters and their personal lives were also very moving. The last 5 mins of the entire show had me sobbing uncontrollabaly because of that damn montage and now I kinda wanna watch it all over again.

Anyways if you want a breakdown of why its worth it/ not worth it:

Yes:
1. Exellent story
2 Excellent acting (Charlotte is a gem)
3. Romantic chemistry
4. Good scripting
5. Impactful romance plot line
6. Impactful family plot line
7. Good subplots of the supporting characters that tied in with the main story
8. Very original in it's style
9. Quite funny at the beginning ( Kamoi had me dying in some parts but I'm gen z so keep that in mind haha)

No:
1. Not the butterfly in your tummy kinda romance ( which is not necessary anyays but it's usually what I gravitate towards)
2. Definitely not for escapism lol (it's life portrayed truly with good and bad)
3. Some of the foreigner actors brought for a little bit of screen time throughout the show were cringy (nothing out of the ordinary for white people in dramas though if you've seen it before lol)
5. Comedy after 100 ep market is almost non existent in my opinion even though I personally believe humour is specially important in times of trouble ( but not a deal breaker anyways so doesn't matter)
6. Definitely not a short watch ( about 39 hours of episodes)

This drama has a place in my heart <3

I always have to finish what I have started!

This season I find more entertaining because I just wanted to all the cheaters get what they deserved, I felt the pain of those betrayed women! That was brutal! The amount of time I was frustrated with the behavior of some of these women and men, oof, it had me anxious most of the time. The women because first there is no justifying cheating, there is not and the one to blame is not the one being cheated on BUT the cheater. It does not matter if you don't wear make up or fancy clothes, your partner, the one that loves you, supposed to talk to you and let you know how they feel and if things cannot be fixed well then at least you honestly tried not to cheat, and they use all the excuses of the world to justify your cheating, and women on this drama though that the men cheat because you are not "treating" yourself HA!

The men, OMG don't even get me started, two of them boring of their wives for the most stupid reasons (you’ll see) and the other one he is just tired of her but does not leave her due to his parents and whatnot. Seriously, very frustrating but a true story cause this happens a lot only privately and that is just sad.

Finally, the ending left me confused, so I am looking forward to watching the third season and see what is actually happening.

A Sad Ending is More Ideal

A heart patient with a mechanical heart sounds very advance to me and at a point i have a sudden thought whether it will really work someday in the future?

A car accident ten years ago turned ML into a cold-hearted (like a lizard) person who always gets himself preparing for death as he understands that his mechanical heart will expired someday. He decided to live without love for the rest of his life until he met FL, who is a very optimistic girl who is very contrary to his character. FL claimed herself looks like a crow which is always deemed as bad luck until she met ML who turned away all the bad luck.

Nothing new on the story as when there's a point when ML give up on their relationship once he knows his hope to live like a normal person falls apart and his mechanical heart is near to lapse. This is always the part which I can't understand why whenever things like this happened, ML will forever keeps thing on his own and decided to end the relationship. ML will forever act cold as he no longer care or love the FL and make some stupid act to make the FL disappointed. The most heartache part in this drama is when FL misunderstand ML for signing the consent form to forgo their severely-ill adopted cat. The cat is a symbol of their love; the decision to forgo symbolized the end of his love to the FL.

In fact in the ending part for this drama, a sad ending is more ideal and realistic but this seems hardly seen in modern C-drama. Another thing to highlight on is where I understand that the ML is reluctant to have any kissing scene in any of his drama. This makes the kissing part of the love story looks stale, hope something can be improved on this.

Realistic portrayal of romance

As i read from some of the comments, this drama definitely is more suitable for those above 25.
First and foremost, it does not follow typical kdrama plot whereas people can easily identify right or wrong. Here we have a male lead as typical playboy who wanted no string attached relationship and female lead as pretty but not so innocent girl who fell hard for him. From first episode, the way the male lead try to get FL's attention is classic. He did not immediately offer to take her home after a drink with their group of friends. He let her trying to approach him first. Beside i did not get why people call him toxic. All the time in their relationship he let her make the decision. I guess most of viewers are getting biased due to the webtoon.
What I love about this drama is how they make him finally want to start a real relationship with her. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT GLORYFYING TOXIC LOVE STORY as people have been saying. He feared of losing her for good at the same time he realized his true feeling for her. And how did he realize that- all thanks to our sweet potato boy. It did happen irl as well. Didnt you ever see a guy would show affection only after losing something that he thought already belong to him? At the end of the drama, Nabi has sort of standing up and have a equal balance in a relationship with him. We did not know how long their love story going to last but actually who cares, they are just in their early 20s.
The only thing i do not like about the story is they dance around the question Nabi asked Jaeon "do you have a girlfriend?" the whole time. They could just solved it in episode 6 or 7 instead of dragging it until episode 10 and not addressing the Nabi main concern "did he cheat on me". That thing is sure her deal breaker which shown since the beginning of the drama.
Other than that, I enjoy this drama thoroughly and definitely would binge watch again during free time.
PS: Song Kang's acting in N is superb. His best performance so far i have to say. He brings out the Park Jaeon that makes us believe we would fall head over heels for even if its screaming walking red flag ;)

Well well well...

The acting is very good, the stories are...Mmm interesting (?) in a way you can say it like this since you will be amazed with the stuff that will happen in this drama LOL, not but seriously, it is a cruel reality, that happens a lot, unfortunately. It is not all lovey-dovey k-drama, just keep that in mind while watching. I laughed a lot with some situations because honestly they were very funny, but I also suffered and was angry (most of the time, frustrated) with all the cheating to all these hard-working women (except for one), that it is not exactly that she wasn't hard-working, nor that she deserved to be cheated on, because you should leave a relationship where you are not happy, but I think that she was mostly worried about her pride than the actual cheating, I don't think she really loved him either, unlike the other two. Overall, this is a complicated drama to watch and if you are more into all love and romantic dramas, maybe this one will not be the one for you. I enjoyed because I am a sucker for dramas that allows you to feel all type of emotions even the negatives one, plus I absolutely love Sung Hoon <3

I liked it even more than the 1rst one (if that is even possible)

I cannot stressed more that this story is like no other story on a BL drama. You just have your heart pending on a thread the entire time, in a good and bad way, cause you know and feel what they are feeling throughout the whole series. It was extremely emotional for me, because their emotions were so raw and pure, and I get invested emotionally when watching a drama.

I have to mention that Pei shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan story broke me, it was so sad and hopeful at the same time... love does not have to perfect to be amazing and powerful. The little details... Oof! LOVED LOVED LOVED! You will not regret watching this BL drama, not for a second. Just GO! WATCH IT! LOL

“Winner!”

Synopsis: A story about cash-strapped contestants competing in children’s games with only 2 outcomes - either $38M in cash or death in a flash.

If you’re browsing audience reviews to decide whether or not to watch this Netflix exclusive then my quick answer is, “Yes, go for it!” If you want to know the reasons why then read on:

1. Ranked # 1 in the list of Netflix’s most popular shows in 90 countries.
2. Insane plot initially conceptualized in 2008 but rejected several times for more than a decade eventually turning into a worldwide phenomenon, is enough to stir up anybody’s curiosity.
3. Brilliant multitasker Hwang Dong Hyuk was both the writer and director so nothing was “lost in translation”, enabling the storyline to be directly translated into actions and emotions just as it had been intended by the original storyteller.
4. Superb acting all around, from the lead characters to the supporting cast, even the cameo roles. It did not matter whether they are seasoned actors or rookies, superstars or not so well-known. Their acting talents were all at par. Their competencies were same level. And just how impressive were they? Well for one, Ho Yeon Jung, a first-time actress with a following of 400K on Instagram pre-Squid Game era is currently the most followed Korean actress with 23.7M followers, and counting! If her acting was lackluster or lame then these 23 million new fans of hers wouldn’t have clicked “Follow” on social media. *Note: There is an exception to this praiseworthy acting group which is explained below.
5. Captivating set design and enthralling art direction with minimal use of CGI for a more realistic and riveting effect.
6. Gruesome, grotesque and gory scenes are not really my thing but somehow the treatment of these scenes was done in a creatively tricky and insidious way so they did not make me shut my eyes in fear nor give me nightmares at night.
7. Bizarre oxymoron with the most extreme contradictions. How can seemingly harmless children’s games be played with blatantly harmful results? How can an innocent looking doll cause carnage or a whimsical playground transform into a bloodbath? Quite disturbing, nonetheless, impactful.
8. Genius musical score using familiar classical music to tone down the shock factor. Instead of hearing suspenseful tones as a warning that something dreadful is about to happen you hear soothingly nostalgic melodies such as “Fly Me To The Moon”. Weird, but somehow it worked brilliantly.
9. Not annoyingly commercialized with no glaring product placements nor subliminal endorsements. Even the actors’ length of screen time was not exploitative. Those in the superstar level like Gong Yoo and Lee Byung Hun had minimum exposure, while neophytes Ho Yeon Jung and Anupam Tripathi were highly visible. The creators did not have to heavily rely on A-listers to gain widespread popularity.
10. In spite it being a purely Korean presentation there were ironically no communication and cultural barriers which brought about its global appeal. It vividly showcased how human frailties and imperfections bear no nationality.

Now for the constructive criticisms:

1. Illogical instances when the players were demanding the guards to implement fairness and show compassion such as allowing them to use the toilet during bedtime or stopping contestants embroiled in a fist fight. How can they expect civility and morality in a place where wanton killings were casually occurring on a daily basis?
2. VIPs’ contrived dialogues; the fake and forced delivery of their lines made me cringe and wonder if the reason why they were wearing elaborate masks was to hide their identities with all that shameful acting. The otherwise meticulous Korean director should have hired English speaking advisers who could have provided him with feedback as to how unnatural the foreign actors sounded.
3. Unrealistic ending where the protagonist suddenly became pious and honorable after a lifetime of wayward and contemptible behavior. After all the trouble (and near-death experiences) he went through, he decides not to savor his reward. Spending $10 out of a $38M jackpot did not make absolute sense!

Final verdict: 10 positives versus 3 negatives is still a WIN.

I just Love this drama so much!

This is really the best BL story that I have had the pleasure to watch The story, the emotions, the acting OMG the acting, so amazing! I cannot wait to keep watching, hopefully more and more seasons. The main couple connection and emotions are above and beyond, their eyes just talk, they just say everything they are feeling. I have watched a fair amount of BL dramas and let me tell you, this is my number 1 right now. The story is just captivating, and their love will make you fall in love with them. I guarantee it! This is a MUST-watch!

What happens at school if you fail?it also funny new friendships

Wow what an amazing drama and storyline The cast picked is perfect and its starting off with a big bang only 4 ep in and im already sad its only 12ep. Its amazing how much detail in just 20min and i love the idea of a HS student who's a sharman with good & evil spirit. When 7yo doo hyun tried to help her grandmother stop a student Hyun Soo from jumping off a building. The evil spirit makes him jump as grandma is calling the spirit back into her talisman purse and then seals him in. She tells Hyun soo spirit she'll take him to his mom then all of a sudden a person jumps out and stab her 2-3times and steals the purse. Her ghost tells her she must live past her 18th bday and will have a good life. Now 10yrs later and her mom is just a mild sharman to make money and cant help her daughter with power. Her first day at school a rumor starts that she was seen with the student who jumps to his death as she walked in with a scratch and bloody lip. Then we have the smart rich kid Woo soo that doesn't believe in what he cant see and thinks she a fraud like her mom who took advantages of his mom for money. As he and the other students starts to pressure her she walks past him and good old grandma jumps into his body and hugs her while telling her the bad spirit is in the building. Now the class is teasing him as he doesn't remember doing that, but remember feeling differently. From what i gather the principle Kyung pil made a deal with the powerful bad spirit who is bound by a talisman and when let out he says "Time for your meal" and the student with the lowest grade is killed in order to keep its prestigious school image.(i also think he killed grandma for the purse)
Na woo soo meets Ga doo shim and talks about what happened in class and what she sees so she lets him see and hear. She tells him to ignor them as he runs home and if he makes eye contact they try to talk to him. The next day she goes to his house and gives him a talisman so the spirits will stop bothering him until it fell off and he made them a deal to listen to there stories.
Ep 5 and its still fun to watch especially Hyun soo who still sticks to her for 10yrs as he cant find his way home to his mom.
Ep 6 getting more dangerous as the bad spirit is going after na woo's friend II Nam in the gym and he and doo shim fight him off and run out of school. He follows them to a building and enters someone body and attack them in the elevator and cant understand why a smart kid is friends with stupid kid. Then the door open and..... You need watch its funny ?
Ep 7-End They are free from the evil spirit and for some stupid reason ll nam goes back to school alone. Na woo and doo shim also go and sadly the spirit is in ll nam and has him on window sill they try to fight, but ll nam fall out. They rush to him and his barely alive when his spirit separated and couldn't go back in so Hyun soo jump in till he was saved by the hosp. and in a coma. In order to save him they had hyun soo hide his spirit from the bad guy. His parents and her mother are called to the school and when they her bells goes crazy by the stairs and her mom and runs out. When doo shim gets home her mother says there moving due to the powerful evil spirit she felt near the steps with a talisman on the door. The next day they find it and sneak into school at nite, but are caught by their teacher and so he helps them and opens the door. Once in the energy is strong and not evil its caused by the student killed are being held prisoners then don don daa he appears and catches hyun hoo. They fight and finally get out and reseal the door and make a plan to catch it. Out of nowhere the principle orders a mock exam due to the last kid Lee ae kung was ruined. So still scared Ae kung doesn't want to die so doo shim sets herself to be last place, but turns out na woo had the same idea. So as they are making plans they can hear the spirit trying to brake loose and then we see the principle trying to keep the safe closed, but the spirit has gotten to powerful and breaks loose. As doo shin and Na woo are getting ready and the 2 girls decide to help and so doo shin gives them the ability to see the spirits and to handle the talismans. Once ready as they fight the evil spirit and harm him the principle appears and tries to kill her with a knife and them na woo pushes him and he falls down the stairs stabbing himself. Here they find out the truth of what happened 10years ago to him and her then they screaming and she grabs the purse and run to the roof. Soo jung is ready to fall as he grabs her arm and she grabs him the evil spirit tryes to take them both as doo shim starts to chant all of a sudden blue spirits start to help and weaken the evil. She grabs the purse and he enter them jumps out and a blue orb stop hims as she chants and he goes back in and she uses the axe and then see grandma who says she did well and says GB for good. They return to school as almost normal. A 2nd season is coming

This is crap !

Ok imma be honest, I started watching this drama only for Zhang Bin Bin but then now ended up dropping it. Not because of his acting, but the plot was seriously so bad ! The first few episodes were pretty decent but then after that it started going downhill. Idk why it has freaking 35 episodes lol. I ended up skipping a lot because I was just watching for the heck of it.
Xiao Lei was dumb af. Han Shuang was irritating af.
I thought this was gonna be like sisterhood/friendship oriented drama with some cute romance but nah. The relationships and the friendships were so toxic.
The posters and YouTube thumbnails of this drama had Zhang Bin and Sun Yi all over, so I thought they would be like the main characters but they both received the least screen time in the drama. Felt like they put Zhang Bin in the poster and thumbnails to attract audiences. Basically it was a clickbait.
Dunno why Zhang Bin Bin agreed to sign up to this shit. What a waste of talent.

Anyways in short, this show is crap and don't waste your time and energy watching it lol.

A story about multiple revenge, and hatred that has built up, meanwhile Jiang Li gets caught in the middle of it.

Probably overly dramatic story plot where girl has crush on boy, who doesn't return the favor.
Eventually the girl gives up, and falls in for another guy years later, who's trying to get revenge for his father.

In the end its a love tragedy where no one wins.

11 episodes is short series compared to other dramas, so alot of the plot has to be sped through and then paid off.

Its hard to get attached to one character in the story, you can feel bad that things happened but everyone has ulterior motives, while Jiang Li is just a girl looking for love, unforeseen things happened, where shes not innocent, but she didn't deserve all that punishment either.
