Beautiful masterpiece! Disappointing ending.

Positive: Darren Wang was made for this role! He is hot, aggressive and vicious like a wolf! Love it! :D

Negative: Tragic ending. Horrible clothes! ML has some strange priest-like robe.

Music: Beautiful, haunting songs! I'm amazed how good all the songs are, and it goes so well with the theme of "wolf".

I love masculine ML, who are NOT pale (LOL) and Darren Wang has a tan! Love it! I really like how the director made him cold, emotionless, yet conflicted behind the FL's back. I love how they portray the depth of his character. And I love that they gave him a tan! Fitting for soldiers in the sun all day! Finally!

FL is quite naive up until ML betrays her. Her character is a bit boring, annoying, and pitiful, but Li Qin is a very good actress, and portrays it the best she can. Though I don't think this role fits her. She seems more like a mature, smart person and this role should go to someone who looks young, naive, and gullible.

Some scenes don't make sense to me, for ex. I don't understand why ML would bring his troops to be harmed if he just wanted FL to kill him. He's big into brotherhood, so I would think he would protect his troops. If I was director, I would just have him go to the battleground himself and let FL kill him. LOL. Why bring the troops too?

I also don't get the tragic ending themes of these new Chinese drama. It's almost as if Chinese dramas are required to be tragic these days. I think this drama didn't need a tragic ending, as ML and FL could have just left the world to live in the mountains, like Return of the Condor Hero. The ending was a disappointment and unnecessary. It could have been one of my go-to re-watch drama, but I'll just watch up to the last episode. LOL.

Xiao Zhan's character is very likable in this drama. He did a great job playing someone with a big heart, though the wedding scene was a bit funny.

Xin Zhi Lei who plays Yao Ji is a very beautiful actress and plays her character well.

A welcome surprise

"B X J Forever" is not necessarily a light drama, and it definitely diverges from the tone of "Ben X Jim". What I liked about "B X J Forever" is that it discusses deeper subject matter while maintaining a sort of reserved optimism. Ben and Jim aren't the only main characters, as the narrative focuses on a dysfunctional group of friends and acquaintances at a gay café who are trying to figure out how to work well together. This is a big breath of fresh air after watching other shows that romanticise the concept of LGBT "community". The narrative also follows each character as they figure out how to break out of their shells, and it handles its depiction of the process of self-discovery very well.

Cliche done right!!!

A guy with amnesia. A girl who pretends to be his fiancee. And a sweet romance. I think you must be quite acquainted about this kind of plot. But however common may it be, the execution was beautiful.

Plot:
The female lead was once the male lead's student. Coincidently, she witnessed his accident and decided to help him because she needed his coordination to complete a deal at her workplace. Slowly they fell in love with each other. Challenges come when the male lead regains his memory but as the story progressed they finally confessed to each other. I loved the fact that the female lead was independent and strong, and not some poor girl in damsel whose life will be changed by the male lead. She is smart and confident. She only needed the male lead's help because of her incompetent boss.
There are several comedy scenes and romantic scenes.
The initial 10-15 episodes doesn't seem to add much to the plot. And their progression of love is quite slow. After the 15-16 episodes, the story picked up.

Acting:
Both the leads were charming and attractive. For Ji Xiao Bing, playing the role of a cold business mogul wasn't something new. But he does it well every time. However, seeing his cute side was a refreshment. Jin Wen Xin looked confident but a friendly person. They both gave equal challenge to each other when it came to fight for their love. The chemistry was amazing. And most of the supporting casts were great. You gotta love the female lead's family.

The show had many cute scenes, comedy scenes but most important it won't feel illogical to you (I mean apart from the memory loss logic, of course). Therefore, it is one of those dramas which I might re-watch again but only after 15-16 episodes.

Till my next review....
XoXo

Highly Recommended!

I have watched this drama twice already and will definitely watch this again before season 2 starts.. I love the plot, the actresses are so good that i started to stan them both. I was already familiar with Yihan through Meteor Garden and I was only introduced to Zhang Nan through here (Couple of Mirrors) since I only occasionally watch CDramas. Zhang Nan's beauty is so striking and I love how she portrays Xu You Yi, she definitely showed her pureness and innocence. Yihan on the other hand really fits the role of Yan Wei, she's very handsome.. and I love how her precious smiles are only for You Yi.. I rated the story as only 8.5 because I would love to know Yan Wei's back story which i will anticipate in Season 2.. I am excited and will definitely wait for it.

A dish best served... twice?

I first watched this drama last year as it aired, and even though some elements were a bit hard to follow at times, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I watched it with my sisters and we looked forward to it every day.

Now, I'm currently watching it over again with my mom, and let me tell you... it's almost a completely different experience.
In a good way. When you know what's going to happen already, you can concentrate on the smaller details you didn't catch the first time that'll make you go "OHHH NOW I UNDERSTAND".
It makes you realize just how much hard work and attention to detail was no doubt put into this drama. Ad it'll be just as, if not more entertaining then the first time you watched it.
So trust me, if you've only seen this drama once, watch it again. This rewatch is a pleasant surprise.

Maybe in terms of plot, it is quite non-sensical, or dumb, and sometimes even bizarre, but who says it's not entertaining? if you like a strong female lead (the real one, not the one who's strong as the story wants and then becomes a damsel in distress a second later just for the sake of knight saving beauty), well-written characters, protagonist having minimal setbacks in other words almost winning every time, and clever leads who are always three steps ahead... then just turn off your brain and enjoy it as at the end of the day its main purpose is entertainment, it's not a science textbook where everything should make sense.

It's a character-driven story, as I said before plot kinda sucks coz a lot of time it's very illogical, a bit problematic, surreal. And politics is poorly written... nothing mind-blowing with no What? whoa! moment. It's a rather simple concept of revenge that mostly circles around Jiu Ling, it's her journey. So almost every other character is kinda-not-really-important. On the positive side of the story, I'll say comparing similarly-themed dramas... it's not torturous, or painful to watch, a writer doesn't kill your favorite characters left and right or even adds the most annoying characters taking a looot of screentime. If you are looking for romance, it's merely there but with a lot of chemistry.

Jun Jiu Ling is the heart of the story... and most important aspect as without her brilliant characterization this would fall flat. She's clever, quick-witted, and knows how to use her skills to get her goal.. her every action is planned and she's ready for any consequences. Even without any fighting skills, she rocks, Brain over brawn! I can't think Jiu Ling is without Peng Xiao Ran, she's just amazing as Jiu Ling... seeing her playing the character so beautifully was a pleasure to watch, especially she nails every emotional scene. Though I'm not very fond of super perfect characters, I still liked her... who doesn't love to watch lead surpassing everyone with her great abilities.

Ning Yun Zhao... well why I'm mentioning him even before ML? well non-surprisingly he's my favorite character after Jiu Ling, I bet you'll get the major second lead syndrome. As they match each other intellectually, perfect!... even their first meeting was one of my favorite scenes of the drama. Wang You Shuo did a good job... I truly felt bad for him from bottom of my heart, he did exceptionally well in the rejection scene, you can just feel pain in his eyes.

Here we go... matter of conflict, the male lead. Zhu Zan, not very fond of him... but I did like some aspects of his character a lot, he's not very ideal but I take it on the positive side as we already have 'perfect' FL we need some balance right? Jin Han... even if he's great at playing grey characters, he's pretty good as Zhu Zan with his charm. My only problem was who the heck was his hairstylist? ah, it's worse lol... I can't stand his styling he can look a lot better if they just put a bit of effort.

Lu Yun Qi is psycho... and a sick character, for a second I pitied him than just a later scene... I pitied why I pitied him, mostly he hateable (almost) all time...not a fan of his last-minute-eureka-moment that made his character inconsistent, why build the whole character in such a way if you're gonna give him last-minute development at least take some time or let him be psycho I'm happy with either. Du Ya Fei, never seen this guy before, honestly, I've as his profile says but I don't even remember him, but I don't think it'll happen again. As his performance was most splendid, and it outshined.

As for reverse-harem, as I already mentioned... there isn't much romance here why worry about reverse-harem, plus FLs character is worthy of everyone getting smitten over her lol xD so it's understandable... and other than Yun Qi 'Love' aka obsession no other male character is annoying.

It's a low budget, don't expect much of majestic setting or beautiful clothing, styling as you can see many clothes recycled all time, even lighting is dull, and I personally didn't like color pallet much. Apart from the intro, none of the osts weren't significant enough (for me).

It's not best but not worst either, but surprisingly addictive and intruding... with a femal

GMMTV, It's time to stop

Alright, here we go. FUTS is my lowest rated show on MDL. Even lower than some of the shows that I dropped. The reason why I didn’t drop this show and watched the whole thing is probably because I didn’t realize how much this show bothers me until after it was over.
The first glaring issue that I remember having with the show was the extreme appropriation of Sikh culture that bordered on mocking and racist. It was clearly supposed to be played for laughs, but it was REALLY not funny. And on the topic of humor in this show, where was it? This show was very obviously intending to be funny, but I swear I didn’t laugh once while watching this show. A lot of the humor was slapstick or gross, and that is just way too juvenile for me.
Honestly, I feel bad for the actors in this show, because I am confident that they could do so much better. The only actors in this show I had seen in other things were the actors who played Duean and Bam. They were both in Tonhon Chonlatee, and they were both so much better in that show! I actually also didn’t like Tonhon Chonlatee, but that is not because of these two actors.
Next on my list is the pacing. This is honestly one of the worst paced shows I have ever seen. There are 12 episodes, and episodes 1-11 are VERY slowly progressing Pi and Mork’s relationship, and then at the very end they get together, fight, and get back together. I swear I got whiplash from the pacing. This pacing managed to make a show that dragged 95% of the time feel rushed right at the very end.
My penultimate point is about the ‘shipper’ characters. I get what the show was trying to do; poke a bit of fun at the people online who ship real people together and are crazy and delusional. I really do get that, Lovely Writer did something similar and it worked; but these characters are the ACTUAL worst people, and the show plays them for laughs! They do not respect Pi’s privacy at all, and find out information about his family, and take pictures of him at his house! They should be arrested for stalking, but FUTS makes them out to be comedic characters. It’s not funny, it is terrifying. As a segue to my final point, at one point, in order to get Pi’s attention, Mork joins a livestream hosted by these stalkers and adds fuel to the rumor of their relationship, going directly against Pi’s wishes.
My final point is that Mork and Pi are not good for each other, and Mork does not respect Pi at all. At their core, these BL shows are about a main couple, and the process of those two people becoming a couple. In FUTS, I TRULY did not want Mork and Pi to end up together, and that is a huge problem for a show like this. The basis for their relationship is that Mork likes Pi a lot and spends the whole show trying to get Pi to like him back. In theory, that is fine, it works in shows like We Best Love and Gameboys; but we are never given a good reason why Mork likes Pi so much. The fact that Mork works so hard to try and get with Pi would make you think that he has some reason that he likes him that much, but we are never given a good explanation for it. In addition to this, Mork is WAY too pushy, and does not take no for an answer. Comparing again to We Best Love, when Shuyi tells Shide that he doesn’t want to fall for a man, Shide immediately respects what Shuyi says and leaves to respect his boundaries. Whereas in FUTS, Pi is CONSTANTLY telling Mork to leave him alone, and Mork doesn’t listen, and even encourages the shippers to keep shipping them even though he knows it makes Pi uncomfortable. And then when Pi finally gives in and agrees to date Mork, he has conditions for the relationship that Mork agrees to. But then after like one day, Mork doesn’t want to keep the relationship secret anymore so he uses jealousy to manipulate Pi into publicly announcing their relationship. I could write more about this show, but I’ve already written an essay. Please don’t watch this show, it is not good.

#OurSecretLeadsIntoMerits

It's a school romance drama which started being a deskmate turned into a soulmate. This drama kinda remind me of the one iconic taiwanese drama of 2005 "It Started With A Kiss" which the ML was also the most genius in school and eventually turned out to be the tutor of the FL. But anyway, they are totally different?. I'm really not into this kind of genre but this one is an exemption, as I've noticed that they've got vast number of good reviews and quite in good ratings. I loved how the story goes with inclusion of family affairs, friendship which gives me inspiration 'no one should be left behind', lifting each other to reached their own goals. And of course, a cute romance of a typical teenagers then, matured as they become older and same goes to their relationship. I cannot repress myself to be emotional whenever the guy genuinely shows his sincerity without realizing it's already out of his league?ttttt....... the power of love certainly made you bubblehead. You cannot expect more to them but their production can make you to loved other preferences in a love story drama. Chemistry is undeniable, especially when they both in denial stage and jealousy takes place. It can also gives you glimpse of their technology as the ML was an automotive top student in the univeristy.....indeed, they are also advanced on this field. Their ost are suit to my ears, perfect for nostalgic mood and finding inspirations. I want to emphasize what Zhou Siyue said in the last episode, "Equation require solution but, love has no solution" (kaya marami tayong marurupok sa mundo).? Anyway, nice catch?✔

Not really worth it to watch if you're here for the plot

(Note: English isn't my native language so I'm really sorry for the grammatical errors!)

Short Version: So-so series, great cast, bad storyline.

Long version:
I have a love-hate relationship with this series. I love some of the cast but I hate the storyline so much. What's the whole purpose of this series? I hope they're just testing out what the viewers' reaction would be like on the new couples. Instead of giving the couples one episode each they should've gave them 3-4 eps like in En of Love (they have 3 or 4 eps per couple I guess, I didn't watch it). Overall, the cinematography is great but the thing I don't like is the filler scenes like ??? just go straight to the point instead of wasting time in staring at each other please.

Since this series have different couples per episode, I'll rate them individually yay!

Episode 1: Would You Be My Love?
I skipped most of the bullying scenes and I'm not a fan of cliffhangers so ending for me is a big nope. No hate but I'm tired of seeing Earth cry in every series he's in, please give him a lighter role next time. They should've paired Santa and Earth with someone near to their age.
Story: 6/10
Acting/Cast: 8/10

Episode 2: Rhythm's Heart
Um no. I was supposed to skip this and the other straight couples but I decided to watched this out of curiosity. There was no chemistry between the couples, I'm really sorry. The only good thing from this episode is the conversation between Pimdao and her father regarding same-sex relationship. I also liked the way Rhythm's watch (or whatever device it is) beeps everytime he's nervous, nice detail though. Stop villainizing queer women please.
Story: 4/10
Acting/Cast: 6/10

Episode 3: Remember
I'm kind of disappointed. This is the episode I anticipated the most since the day they released the 7 Project teaser last year. I'm a big fan of Sammy and Pineare since Lovesick days so it was really interesting to see them together in a series as a couple. Words couldn't explain how frustrated am I on how the way this episode ended please I wish they'll have a new gl series together in the future (haha ManaowDel in Between Us/Hemp Rope pls,,,,). Anyways, Sammy and Pineare did well since it's their first time to potray a character that is waaaaay too different to their real personality (I guess?).

Now let's talk about the plot, the whole episode is good but everything went downhill for the last 20 minutes. I skipped some of Tac's scenes. His narrative changes in every scene he's in, gosh he's so inconsistent. Jaidee's facial expression after THAT scene broke me please she doesn't deserve this :( They should've used Tac's screentime for Jaidee and Proud's reconcilement instead of ending this episode with an open ending. Speaking of the ending, she's about to answer Jaidee's call PLEASE DID THEY END UP TOGETHER OR NOT? I'm not creative enough to imagine what happens next please. They should've aired this episode first before Rhythm's Heart (Episode 2), I don't know if it is just me or not but I waited for Jaidee to appear on the later episodes.

The message? Yes love is just a part of life but haha,,,, please let my girls be happy.

Story: 8/10
Acting/Cast: 10/10

Episode 4: Once Upon A Time
I'll make this short, another disappointing story. Whoever is the writer for this series please stop making confusing and unresolved endings. Boun and Prem did well, I love their chemistry so much. This episode didn't make me cry if that's their goal. Also good thing we got the answer on what happened to Sun and Ozone after the events in episode 1.
Story: 7/10
Acting/Cast: 10/10

Episode 5: Breakup Zone
The episode is so boring, I love friends to lovers trope so much but Ryu and Jinny's development seems rushed for me, well maybe because of the time constraint. Plan and Nink's kissing scene looks awkward as hell please. No offense but I'll just pretend that this episode doesn't exist.
Story: 2/10
Acting/Cast: 4/10

Episode 6: VS Love
FINALLY SOME GOOD STUFF. I thought this episode will be like those common enemies to lovers trope in bls but oh god this episode has exceeded my expectations. The whole episode gives off The Gifted and Blacklist vibes though. I love Tonnam and Tonkhao's sibling dynamics. The only thing I don't like in this episode is that they added the romance last minute, I want to see more Phupha and Tonnam moments. They should make this a stand-alone series. There's no kissing scene BUT THAT'S OKAY you don't need a kissing scene to make this episode perfect.
Story: 9/10
Acting/Cast: 10/10

Episode 7: 50% My Puppy Love
There's nothing special in this episode though, it looks like those typical high school love stories but thank fucking god they ended this series with a lighthearted story. This episode made me miss my school life before the pandemic.
Story: 7/10
Acting/Cast: 9/10

Music: 7/10
The OSTs are good especially the ones sung by SantaEarth, Boun and Sammy. The background music matches the mood of the scene perfectly as well. (Edit: nevermind ... they just recycled the bgms from Until We Meet Again)

Rewatch Value: 3/10
I'll probably rewatch some of the episodes especially episode 3 and 6 but not the whole series idk?

Vampire like demons with wings

Mainleads Zhang Zhehan and Li YiTong make a cute couple. I like the first season better with Merxat. The storyline is better in the first season also. Second season has Steven Ma, which I was excited to see again. Zhang Zhehan’s role wasn’t as strong as it should be but his acting did not disappoint. For the first time I think Merxat was more deserving of being with the main female lead. Maybe I watched it on YouTube but the quality and effect of this drama looked old and outdated. Nevertheless the cast did the best they can with the storyline, and it was worth watching if you are into fantasy dramas.

Wishing for season 5

The series has little to offer by way of a usual cop show, without gruesome crime scenes, chasing (physically running after) criminals, etc. Instead, fine story-telling and acting make this a compelling drama and probably the best of the four seasons so far. Amami Yuki delivers, as do other actors playing her colleagues on the same team. I like, in particular, Tanaka Tetsushi, who, I think, is an underrated actor. The main story that runs through the two beginning episodes and two at the end is nicely wrapped up by a crucial line from Amami Yuki's character as she steps out the office of a newly appointed cabinet minister: "You don't think that we didn't make a copy of the contents of the cell phone" (or, something to that effect), that is, before the phone, with incriminating information on it, was returned by a good-natured boy to the politician. It is for fear of subsequent exposure and scandal that he resigns shortly after rather than because of the boy's innocent words and gesture. Without that line, the drama would have appeared sugar-coated with the cliche, "Good triumphs over evil." With it, the accusation of the depth of political filth is briefly but loudly restated. The script writer(s) deserves kudos. Season 5 is still possible, though the team is supposed to have been dissolved. TV magic can resurrect anything. Let's hope this will happen.

Xu kai! That is it .that’s the whole review.

I am joking (but not really). I have never understood the hype over him before this drama and now … let‘s say I have found a new love.

Initially I refused to watch this drama because of the controversies surrounding it. But 3 days ago I found myself bored in need of a rom-com and this has good reviews/rating so I picked it up with 0 expectations and I was not disappointed.

The plot is not much but it kept me engaged enough even though I am not really into e-sports. It was the characters and (OMG xu kai) that made me love this as much as I did. There were some eye-rolling moments and lines that made me sigh. I have made peace with the fact that they’re going to be cringy moments in every Chinese drama I am going to watch and I am fine with that.

The chemistry between the ML and the FL was off the charts and I liked their bickering. I only have one complain. I would have given this drama a higher rating if it were not for cheng xiao‘s acting. It was fine for the most part but at times, I felt like she did not show any emotions and here reactions were underwhelming. I am not hating on her I do like her as an idol but I think that she need more training before taking a lead role in a drama again.

Another highlights for me were the cats. The cute little one that they got later on I am in love.

Overall, it was a good drama. If you want something lighthearted with good characters, watch it.

Turning challenges into potential

At first this drama appeared to me to be quite light, even to the point of being petty, but as it evolved, not only the exceptional acting skills and direction, but the actual content was full of situations that are not merely relatable, but also enriching and educational. 'Yes, we've all been there', - might be a cliché response to many of the scenes, but it's much more than that, i.e. it contains a wealth of food for thought to adjust one's own behaviour and judgement of situations. 'Don't be quick to judge', and 'give people the benefit of the doubt' would be suitable mottos for this show, - and it's done in the most inspiring and beautiful way. Making things work, creating harmony, - the big endeavours of Eastern philosophies that the West could learn so much from.

Female lead absolutely carried this series

As the title suggests, this female lead which I had enjoyed when she was in Goodbye my princess, absolutely carried this series on her back.

Alot of the situations, scenarios and lines are cringe worthy but FL always looks perfect with her expressions and acting. I mean there are so many shows already with the small pox angles.

Its a pity the Male support casts and male lead doesnt match up to her abilities as compared to her ML in goodbye my princess. The chemistry between her male casts are average at best, while the chemistry with male lead seems so forced and fake from the male lead end too. So it was hard to ship or root for them as a couple. Hopefully she gets more series and gets matched with better male leads, as it was such a waste of her abilities. This got me thinking if the male lead was someone like Wang Anyu, this would have been a much better pairing and series.

This series when live was a drag to watch just because it got delayed for a week during the cliff hangers. But for the binge watchers this will be a worthy and enjoyable watch.
