This should have been a full-length series or a movie

The main issue with this drama is that it suffers from what they were trying to do. They essentially tried to stuff the same amount of scenes into a 10-minute episode as they would have in a full-length drama. Consequently, they had no time to really flesh out the characters or develop the plot. This made it seem like things were just randomly happening or characters had sudden and inexplicable change of hearts for no reason whatsoever. From the very beginning, they just jumped into new settings and new scenarios with no foreshadowing or development whatsoever.

Beyond that, they had pacing issues from trying to end every 10 minute episode on a cliffhanger of some sort. It almost always felt very forced - going from just a normal scene talking to suddenly some huge thing happening. And that happened over and over again every ten minutes. Everything was just so rushed. They had enough of a "skeleton" of a story that they could have padded it out into a normal length drama. They should have either done that or seriously tighten the story up and make it into a film, dropping multiple scenes. I don't know what on earth possessed them to make it this ridiculous length.

Aside from that, the FL's character was ridiculous - they were going for the foolishly comedic type of character. But I've literally never seen a drama make one of the main leads into this sort of over-the-top stupid characters. Normally when they have a character be that stupid for comedic effect, it's a side character. Or if they have the FL start off as naive and innocent, she doesn't stay like that for long. This girl's stupidity lasted at least 85% of the show - and when she finally started being normal it was a sudden switch because of their timing issues. What made it worse was that every other character was written and acted like this was a serious drama and then you have this one character, the FL, acting over-the-top stupid like this is a comedy.

Overall, it's a relatively short watch and it was a decent story with good costumes and sets, so if you want to watch a drama that doesn't require a time commitment, this is an OK drama.

Why are demons always so pretty crying emoji

I loved this so much. I mean, it is an idea and storyline we've seen before but there aren't infinite plots in the world. I was a little unhappy from approximately the 18th episode (hard to tell since all the episodes were chucked into an almost two hour film lol), but in the end, I wanted more.
I really loved the costumes, the makeup and the jewelry. The CGI was.... Bad, but it did not take away from the story and there was not much CGI anyways.
I think I'll always fall for the demons, the actor is so pretty.
This is only the second short format drama I watched, I'm slowly getting used to it. But this one, this one was really good. If you're into pretty demons, definitely give this a watch.

unique premise with engaging characters

Overall: I was hooked with the characters' dynamics and the unique world building, but it needed a few more episodes to more fully flesh out the plot. 8 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired on iQIYI and GagaOOLala (country dependent).

Content Warnings: there are several including some major ones, see my review comment for a list under a spoiler tag

What I Liked
- realistic parts, didn't shy away from things like homophobia
- that Myung Ha wanted Yeo Woon to be happy before the penalty was known
- world building (though some parts were rushed)
- sweet moments
- funny moments (that snack shop scene)
- the side character classmate
- being forthright in episode 5
- ongoing physical affection

Room For Improvement
- although the episodes were longer than normal Korean BL, there were many plot threads and some felt underdeveloped/rushed i.e. they didn't clearly explain why a character's personality did a 180, also they kept talking about modeling but didn't explain it until episode 6 and I thought there was a subtitle error (and they also had 2 other characters model and 2 characters' names were similar, which added to my confusion), overall this needed to be a 16 episode kdrama length and then would have been 10/10 (or reduce the number of side plots/characters)
- was a bit confused on who the villains all were at the beginning/their relationships to the characters

if a problem come, we face it together, life has many ways of solving the problem.

i would rate this show an infinity out of 10. everything is so good in this show and the people that you are travelling really affects the progress.

this show is everything. all of them are emotionally stable and does not push blames on people. in fact, when there is a problem, they would bring it up and communicate with each other, solve the problem together. each of them are not perfect, each of them have their own strengths and weakness. however, because of that, they work best as a team. they learn and grow from each other and one thing about them is that they truthy appreciate what has been done for them. they face everything together and find the best out of the worst.

each episode just get better and you can slowly unbox the "found family" trope from them. from strangers to friends, then friends to found family. they all had the feels where they felt more like a group of good friends or family hanging out with each other rather than some superstar or people that based on seniority. from exploring themselves to height-related adventures, to watching stars together after they had their heart to heart talk, kayaking together, having steamboat together, having fun together, eating together or even chasing the northlights together. it is something called "封神" - a term that is used when something sealed the deal.

but do note that it would contain chinese propaganda which in this case is to learn what has china build that impacted the country. all seven of them are unproblematic but the ones that are problematic are the viewers. this is the best chinese variety show that i have watched.

not just that, everyone is just like a chopstick where it can be paired up randomly. as a shipper myself, i felt into that hole and my favourite cp was hu xianxu and zhao zhaoyi... our extra couple! but all of them are so good together as they also give off relaxing vibes.

qin hailu is into those alpha ml kinda stories but praises to give to her because she has all the advices needed and experience that she settles a lot of things. qin lan's mindset needed to be studied as she gave so many good advices and had such a positive mindset such as saying the right things at the right time. xin zhilei is our cooker, driver and comedian in the group. she can be straightforward but can be funny as well. i had a new outlook on reba, someone introverted but plans well for the trip. she is willing to try out something new and pampers everyone. zhao zhaoyi, i am so so glad that i was able to discover her because she is just like a golden retriever! you would feel nothing but positive energy from her. you have no idea how much i adore and love her. wang anyu... my man grew up so much! from the first country to the third country, i saw a lot of improvements from him and how he looked crappier and crappier! out of nowhere, i suddenly get wang anyu's visual especially his teary eyes! + our photographer! without you, qin hailu would cry at other's photography skills and many beautiful photos from him! lastly, hu xianxu, he might be young but his thoughts deepens around people and the world. yes, he can be funny, but he can also give you worthy emotional advices and he did became a gentleman!

with that, i would want you guys to watch the show as its available on mangotv! it is worth a shot as it gets better and better. they are funny, emotionally stable and everything you would want travelling with friends.

please comeback for the next season and it can be called "divas hit the road: we are back" btw! this show is super hot in china rn! it even reached 35 million views and won awards too!

My favorite of all time

I watched it in 2016 wherein its still ongoing kdramas, I re-watch it many times I even watched its tagalog dubbed and its still same reaction I still laughed and cry in this drama. I super loved Gong Yoo he is one of the reasons why I watched this drama its because of him. It has a great casting, each character has its moments to shine thats why I loved every character in this drama. The cuteness and funny moments in this drama are very on point. You will definitely fall in love in this drama there are no dull moments in this drama. I'm sure you will loved it the same thing as I do.

okay langi

I love the storyline wherein the pilot fell in love with the flight attendant. I don't like the casting they don't have chemistry at all. At first I kinda don't like it because I don't like the girl's character I know it's just her role in here, but later on I kinda like it as the story goes on. I don't like Jerome Ponce I can see that his trying too hard to be a good boy here, and Krissha Viaje is trying too hard to be a bitchy type of girl This is for adults only too much skin is shown in this drama. Overall this drama is not that good and it also not that bad. I like the ending that they built a family on their own. ?

Still watching but I already like it

So here is what I can from my experience of 5 episodes - a story of friendship, betrayal, passion, beliefs, comradeship.
A strategic battle. A heart touching story. Of an expert who has been derived off but he refuses to give up. Of rebuilding dreams. Of restarting from start, that's what it's hard. But there is still more - ye qiu is still underground, still building his new teams, cultivating comradeship.

But the story isn't all about it - there is humour as well. I am really liking that little stupid, smelly boy part of ye qiu as the network manager of Guo Guo. I am liking support characters - like president of lanxi Pavillion, xiao tang etc

Well, the e-sport part isn't still completely understood yet. But let's hope for the best.

Masterpiece but still not fully satisfied for one minor part

My Demon is a Iconic, Pure Masterpiece. It is Happy Ending but feeling Sad because it’s Complete now. My demon team has successfully made fans cry, laugh, and win their hearts❤️.

Why I'm not fully satisfied?
⚠️ Spoilers Alert : It would have been more satisfying for me if Gu-won had become human at the end. Because it’s not clarify how he's gonna live after Do Do Hee's present life??. He can't live without her for a moment. Anyway, That's writer decision, Some of fans are fully satisfied & Some of not. Missing My Demon ?.

Completed on 22 January 2024. 3rd Day (24 January 2024) update of me after completed : Still could not recovered yet. Feeling so heartbreaking ?. Because after being attached to a great show for so long and emotionally attached to the characters, I'm always heartbroken when it ends.

ACTION, COMEDY AND ROMANCE NYA DAPET BANGET ❤️

kemistrinya dapet banget Xukai sama xinxin ini, melebihi ekspektasi aku pas liat preview waktu masih syuting. ceritanya oke dimana Xukai meranin dua karakter aja udah bikin penasaran. Karakter bian sama Jinzhao tuh beda banget, mereka berdua nih yang bikin penasaran banget kelanjutannya.. begitu juga Yue Qi yang di episode 15-16 udh ketahuan asal usulnya tapi tetep aja blm kebuka banget.

alurnya nggak ketebak di aku yang emang lebih fokus nonton Xukai sama xinxin ? penasaran banget kelanjutannya gimana, kalian harus nonton bareng aku sih mumpung masih on going ❤️

satu lagi OST nya bagus bagus, paling suka A lifetime by Shan Yichun

I like xiao zhan and yang zi

The Oath of Love is a much-anticipated drama that literally went to hell and back, leaving fans in an awkward situation. The Oath of Love, which was supposed to premiere in September 2019, was repeatedly postponed due to "Operation Qing Lang," which targeted celebrities with large, often chaotic fan bases. The drama was thought to have been postponed solely to put fans on their best behaviour. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first episode of The Oath of Love after the very long two-year wait. And now I understand why the things we desire are usually the things that bring us the most joy.

The Oath of Love is based on Bo Lin Shi Jiang's(柏林石匠) novel "Entrust the Rest of My Life to You" (余生,请多指教). Because of the success of the novel, The Oath of Love already has a large fan base, and as proof of the cast's star power, the drama surpassed 700 million views in three days.

This drama centres on an uplifting romance between a doctor and a cellist. To be honest, the story isn't particularly unique. It's just a typical rom-com like we see in c-dramas. Except for the medical aspect of the drama, there is nothing unusual about it. But it's the characters and, of course, the cast and their acting is what makes this drama so endearing.

I was expecting a typical, ice-cold, and serious-looking male lead and a confused and senseless female lead based on the synopsis. But I'm really impressed by the character arcs and portrayal in this case.

Lin Zhi Xiao (Yang Zi), the female lead, is a third-year university student majoring in cello. She is energetic, positive, and kind but, sometimes acts on impulse. She is determined to achieve her objectives and does not give up easily. Although she is a little inexperienced and slow when it comes to relationships, once she is certain of her feelings and intentions, she will move forward boldly.

The love from family is irreplaceable in a person's life. This is an important life lesson that this drama teaches us. Difficult situations can make us more mature in all aspects of life. This is what one should learn from Lin Zhi Xiao.

Gu Wei (Xiao Zhan), the male lead, is the chief surgeon at a gastroenterology unit. He is a very capable doctor, but he takes failures and setbacks far too seriously, which led to psychological issues. Finally, after meeting Lin Zhi Xiao, he learns to look past the setbacks and learn from them. They transform into each other's suns and shine brightly.

One should not take setbacks to heart and stumble there, unable to rise. One should learn to learn from them and make their life more colourful with love. This is what one should learn from Gu Wei.

Gu Wei has a cold and aloof personality, but he is actually very warm and caring towards the people he should be. Lin Zhi Xiao, on the other hand, is equally warm and caring, in this case, to everyone. Lin Zhi Xiao's character development is one if the best I have seen to date. When in comes to Gu Wei, he is already and adult and naturally, there won't be any more development for him. But, his personality is so endearing that you would wonder if such a person would ever exist in this world. Their distinct personalities is one thing that makes this drama really cute and charming. You will know it when you watch the drama. The supporting characters in this drama are good, but their relationship advice can get really annoying at times.

I must say that the romance in this drama is both healthy and consensual. Nobody forces themselves on the other, and no one intentionally hurts the other's feelings. Despite the characters' 9-year age difference, the plot's romantic development felt very natural. Even I, who is not really a fan of age gap, which can become really creepy if not excecuted well, liked this drama very much. This is all due to the cast's efforts in bringing the characters to life.

Speaking of the cast, this drama has a star-studded cast that will compel you to watch it no matter what. Actually, I came to see this drama solely for the cast, as they are my favourite actor and actress. If you've seen at least one drama with them in it, you'll understand their allure. Both Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi deliver excellent performances, particularly in serious and emotional scenes. They have serious acting skills that only a few people have or can have. Their chemistry was on fire, and their interactions were adorable to watch, which, combined with the naturalness of their development, made one wonder if it was all real.

Special appreciation to the cast:
I'm really happy at the fact that Yang Zi can portray a character, who is much younger that her, flawlessly but, I think she should broaden her horizon and take up more serious roles.
Xiao Zhan's glamour is growing year by year and so is his acting skills. But, I think and hope he should take up more roles like Wei Wu Xian form The Untamed.

Best Korean Drama In Years.

When I first heard about my demon. I thought to myself that this probably worth to watch since the main leads might be a good pair. And it turns out, they are such a match that I don't want to move on from after watching the drama. ?

The plot includes many genre such as romance to comedy, thriller, action and fantasy which is an interesting thing to see in a kdrama.
I never get bored at all watching this drama.

To be honest for me, this is the best korean drama yet of the century since I've never seen anything like this. It will make you feel attached almost instantly that you want to immediately watch the next episode and binge watch.

BEYOND EVERYTHING.. The chemistry between the main lead actor and actress was shockingly over the top!!. Besides their incredible acting that makes you able to feel their emotions while watching that makes My Demon an absolute tear-jerker and emotional roller coaster which is a sign of a masterpiece, the chemistry between the lead roles and also the supporting actors and actresses makes you want to keep going .

I'm already rewatching some of the episodes and planning to rewatch in the near future or after some time.

The romance genre really suit the show since the sweetness of the relationship between the married couple is over the top.

Last but not least, I've become a fan of Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung after watching My Demon.
I don't think we will be able to see anything like this pairing in a long time. Their on and off screen chemistry just incredibly good that you will think that this pair is made for each other. Even chemistry of people in real life doesn't seem this good.

Anyway, thank you to all My Demon casts and Producers, Writers and everyone involved in working hard in making My Demon a success. My Demon is definitely a great and iconic drama and it will stay in our hearts for a long time.

Thank you for making such a good show and making our lives happier.

It is worth it: Unexpected Plot Twist / No Cliché / Different

This is not a romance, be warned. It is a story of investigation, mystery and a touch of fantasy. It's the story of a "sheriff" (that's how it appears to me in the caption), who investigates cases with her work partner. For some reason, some crime cases begin to be linked to a mysterious woman called "The Woman in Red". This woman manages to fulfill her wish in exchange for having access to her thoughts (and memories, apparently). With each episode new crime cases emerge, and twists are discovered about who is guilty of each crime... But that's not all, for some reason the sheriff starts to have strange dreams, and then the questions remain: "What are these dreams?", "Who is the woman in red?", "Why is she helping me in exchange for nothing?"

I confess that I had some doubts at the end of the series, but I hope there is a second season, as it is really very good. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that it was very well executed, always encouraging the viewer to watch the next episode, and very well recorded, with excellent image quality.

A unique fantasy-romance drama worth checking out

Rattan is a fantasy and romance drama about a plant-alien hybrid (Yi Zu) named Si Teng, who was resurrected by Qin Fang, a young and rich architect in present-day Shanghai. The premise is interesting and I like the mystery, so I was drawn from the first episode, and finished it 2 weeks ago.

What I like:
1) Unique/uncommon story line, good development of the plot, characters, and their relationships. Since this is a fantasy drama, some suspension of disbelief is required, and to better appreciate the mystery, it is best not to read spoilers. Kudos to the one who wrote the summary here in MyDramaList, the writer managed to keep the mystery intact.

2) Very good portrayal by Jing Tian and Vin Zhang. Jing Tian as Si Teng is charming, cool, beautiful, and sometimes aloof (even deadly), but she also has a kind and compassionate side. She looked, acted and dressed the part, like this role was made for her. Vin Zhang was able to convey the funny, serious, intelligent, emotional and devoted sides of Qin Fang. I like their chemistry; they actually make a good pair.

3) The solid supporting cast added to my enjoyment of the drama. A special mention to Zhang Yi Chi as Yan Fu Rui, the funny, loyal, kind and wise disciple of Qiu Shan and friend of Si Teng and Qin Fang. He is wise because he distinguishes between good and bad, and does not to let others’ resentment and grudges influence his actions. His character played an important part in the story.

4) The cinematography is amazing! I’m very much impressed with the on-location shoots, the outdoor sceneries and just how the scenes were shot in general.

5) Lovely costume design! I love almost all of Jing Tian's clothes here. She embodies the classic, refined and elegant look, especially in qi pao (旗袍).

Other Comments:
1) There is inconsistency in one of the timelines, i.e., there is a time gap that was supposed to be 7 years, but in some scenes, they said 9 years.

2) There were some unanswered questions, and the back stories for some of the characters were not clearly explained.

3) I was not as fully immersed in the last 5 or 6 episodes as compared to the first three-fourths of the drama, where most of the untangling of the mysteries happened. Even so, it’s still a pretty good and enjoyable watch for me.

4) This drama has an alternate ending in episode 31, giving us viewers the chance to choose which ending we prefer. This feels like a “choose your own adventure” approach, which we see in a few other dramas. Personally, I’m amenable to both endings since each has its pros and cons, but if I were to choose, I would probably go with the alternate ending.

Final Verdict: If you like fantasy with a touch of romance and are looking for something different, then go watch this drama.

THIS DRAMA WAS SO GOOWWDD

this is a romance one, but how xie ju'an loving jiang xuening just was sooo diff? in my opinion this drama has too much war scene, but actually not a boring one. good to know xie ju'an character because he is a man who has principal but childish in other way. how jiang xuening try to change all the story just make me a bit annoyed, but her character is amazing too. how she handles xie ju'an, emmm- i just cannot relate to her??

in the end of the story make me wanna know they another life in modern one

Don't play with death! A Stirring Reflection in Every Episode

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster with this show that skillfully navigates the aftermath of suicide, featuring a truly remarkable cast. The storytelling offers a unique perspective on the struggles faced by those left behind, tackling the heavy themes of depression and its ripple effects. Each episode is a thrilling exploration of life's value and the potential consequences of one's actions on both personal and interpersonal levels. The show poignantly highlights the absence of second chances, emphasizing the irreparable nature of certain choices. As someone who has weathered the loss of a partner, I found the portrayal deeply resonant, offering a cathartic and comforting experience. "Life is no game. Death is no game" – a powerful mantra that this show brilliantly conveys, leaving a lasting impact on its viewers.
