Both are Japanese movies filmed beautifully.
One is a trouble man found where he belong,
the other one is a man from wealthy family in the city found where he belong.

In both stories the female lead finds a male lead she knows nothing about in front of her house and takes him in as her housemate.

Both deal with the male lead leaving for a significant amount of time (although not as long as We Were There).

Both are a romance film.
