Must watch!!!

Another refreshing and recommended Chinese drama. I watched this drama without any expectations , because I didn’t know anyone even the male lead (ps: because I haven’t watched the new meteor garden until now hahaha). However, I just trying to watch it and turns out to be a really good drama. The plot is not that really basic like another c-drama, but not that complicated too - and it's really attractive even from the first episode.

This drama will teach you a life lesson, a cruel reality to chase a dream, the story about being betrayed by a friend, then she has to move on and start again her career from zero. Both Han Che and Nuan Nuan have done great job for their acting. Their love story, romantic parts, and chemistry are superb!
Not forgetting the second couple story was my fav too because they are very cute and funny!

Furthermore, this drama will make you smile, laugh, sad, and even cry because all their struggles is real. Oh yes, all of the soundtracks are awesome too. To sum up, I just can say that I really love this drama from the very first episode and it’s not surprises that this drama got great rating!

Exactly what you'd expect, but then . . .

I thought I knew how this would end, but the last four episodes delivered something different.

At this point, the dramas featuring young, modern love in the big city amidst a growing career are all interchangeable. This drama, however, had two strong points - a mature, complex set of themes that truly stick with you, and a genuine love for the fashion and entertainment industries.

Eleanor Lee was adorable as Nuannuan, while also being competent and fierce. Her slow fall for the male lead was believeable and endearing. Leon Leong as Han Che did fine as a cold, 'genius' who is hiding a dramatic flaw and who desperately wants to be loved and understood.

The secondary romance was very well-acted and while more dramatic/cringeworthy also very much held my interest.

Music was competent. I would not rewatch - there's no particular scene that really stuck out to me.

I grade on other criteria:

Complex Themes: 9
A wonderful execution of: how success finds it way in many forms, and that you can find a fulfilling life if you are open to different possibilities. How finding true friends and partners - people with kind, generous inner character can be the most precious, and necessary components of a contended life. Also, a minor theme, but that it's important to be clear and express your feelings in words.
Character Growth: 7.5
Before the last four episodes, I'd have put this at a 5. In the end, though, Han Che realized he was endangering what was truly important to him by not changing his behaviors and actually changed. It's a truly rare quality in a person, and I liked how NuanNuan appreciated and recognized this.
Complex Women Characters and relationships between women: 8
Nuannuan was part of a girl group and has a female best friend. She also meets mentors and coworkers who are women all along the way. These relationships are by and large not complex, but they are plentiful with lots of screen time.
Production values: 7.5
The production is limited, and not very cinematic, but I did like that there was a lot of coverage of the fashion industry and a good representation of different styles, brand and clothes.

Cute love story with little ups and downs in their relationship, but it's cute.

This drama makes me cry and laugh. All characters are strong one. They all plays a irreplaceable role.
In first 5 episodes we can the the initial struggling facing by main character ( nuan nuan) and coming from that its extract the exact ups and downs that are facing by someone who just lost dreams. Eventually love emerge in b/w then and which will make a positive effect to both of their Life. They don't fall in love they just rise in love.
Ha chen is a timid person with arrogance and jealous (a lot I should say)and Nuan Nuan is kind with warm heart. Ha Chen see nuan nuan at his place when he was seriously ill and she cared him which makes him feel better but he misunderstood that Lin Lin was caring him so as a repay he decided to help Lin Lin in her career which eventually makes nuan nuan's and his sister's life hard but later he studies that it's was nuan nuan who had helped her all the time and he miss taken it.
Thus the entire story says Ha Chen helping nuan nuan to be strong person and Nuan Nuan also help ha Chen to over come his sickness.

A surprisingly good drama....

I seriously and sincerely do not know what happened. One minute I was watching a drama that from it's synopsis itself sounded cliched and the next minute I was hooked. It was like watching one of those classic movies like The Mask or Home Alone, I'll always know what's gonna happen next but I still enjoy the comedy and the sense of nostalgia.
This drama was kinda like that. The stone cold ML is looking for a girl who helped him in the past who is obviously the FL but he mistakes her someone else to be the one (I have seen a couple other dramas with similar settings like About is love, Girlfriend). He helps that girls and kinda screws over the FL. Situation pushes them to live together which you'll know, if have seen enough asian dramas, always leads to love. There are many other cliches such as-
- The ML is sick & the FL helps him through it
- the bff second couple (both the ML's and the FL's best friends fall for each other becoming the dramas secondary couple)
- The ML bailing out/ helping the FL whenever she's in a bind (Personally I don't appreciate the whole damsel in distress cliche cause it's kinda sexist but it's not like the producers of the show care about that)
- The love square ( the 2 MCs and their love rivals/second leads) ending up working for the same company or the same project even though they are different professions (this really bothered me especially when the 2 female characters were both rookies in their respective fields, one of the guys was semi famous in his field and the ML was one of the most successful people in his career, their levels were so different but still they ended up working together).
- The very much avoidable misunderstandings between the couples (always remember communication is key to a good relationship)
- The evil 2nd female lead (who was toxic) with whom the FL should have cut ties a long time ago but didn't because she's forgiving. Most of the people around the FL were similarly selfish jackasses and she still continued her relationships with them resulting in her getting blindsided all the time which was avoidable (it's not that hard to cut ties with such people you know).

Despite the very many cliches and certain plot holes, this drama was surprisingly enjoyable. The FL's character, despite it's many flaws, was well portrayed by the actress. Her personality and reactions to situations was interesting to watch. The ML's character was alright. He wasn't the most fun character but he wasn't completely dull either. The secondary/bff couple had a mostly separate storyline which added a bit of spice to the drama.
With regards to grudge settlement I was quite disappointed. I personally believe in karma and the fact that at the end of any drama all parties must get what they deserve especially the people who did something wrong which did not happen here (I appreciate the fact that it was more realistic since in real life people who do bad thing often do not get punished but then again this is a drama so as an audience I would have liked to see payback).

The ost was good, so was the cinematography. The extra scenes at the end of every episode were really funny.
Overall this drama was a fun watch and I would totally recommend it.

a hidden gem

STORY
is it the most original story known to mankind? no. does it contain a few cliche plot devices? yes. is the story still brilliant and interesting? most definitely. i think the most charming part about the entire story is how personal and relatable it is. we might not all have been part of the entertainment industry or inches away from debuting but we've all faced struggles, setbacks and betrayal so monumental that we wanted nothing more but to escape this life. the fl faces embarrassment, disappointment and struggles and reacts sometimes like all of us and other times that way we wish we could. the love story between the main couple feels organic which is such a rarity. it feels natural and just right. i love the conflicts between them and the fights because they make actual sense but also help to develop the characters. i love the friendship between the characters and that it isn't just an afterthought but feels like an important piece of the puzzle. i cried and i laughed, sometimes it hit a little too close to home but that's the beauty of this drama.

ACTING/CAST
standing ovation for the main couple. this drama made me fall head over heels for eleanor lee. her acting is phenomenal and it makes me angry how underrated she is. as an actress, i hope to see her in all kinds of dramas and thank her for giving life to this role and making me fall in love with the character and relate to it. everyone else was amazing as well, no one dragged the cast down. in the scenes with multiple of them, they all played off each other. and the main couple's chemistry is one for the books. honestly sometimes felt like i was intruding on a real couple and not watching a drama.

MUSIC
apart from the outro, there was no memorable song in the drama. i don't think that's necessary a bad thing because while it didn't leave a lasting impression it also didn't distract me or ruin the drama or certain scenes for me. it all felt appropriate and fitting just nothing mind blowing or special hence the 7 as a rating.

REWATCH VALUE
the only reason i didn't give this gem of a drama a 10 is because i think some of the scenes are skippable during a rewatch. only a few but still, i have to be fair and honest. i'd only give it a 10 if i wouldn't skip a single second of the drama even during a rewatch.

OVERALL
a masterpiece that deserves much more love and appreciation.

Not an extraordinary but I didn’t bored in any episode

If you are looking for only a simple love story, not too sentimental but with good chemistry this is the one. May be because of the low budget or the director’s inexperience you may feel confused on main leads work and the carrier because they enter to so many professions but nothing is clearly shown how they got succeed in those areas and their efforts. But if you are looking for simple love story with good chemistry between the main leads you can do try this drama. In the love story perceptive I didn’t saw any mistake by both ML and FL and most importantly both the main leads put all their effort to cherish their love and didn’t give up on any one may be because no one did any such unforgiving mistakes with other’s. Sometimes you may feel it’s too childish or immature but I especially liked those instances that’s why I gave high rating for this drama.

The first time I've seen the male lead was when I saw the Chinese remake of Meteor Garden in 2018. I didn't know the Leon Leong had another drama and I was curious on how this drama would go. Plus, he would be paired up with Eleanor Lee who I heard was a natural when acting.

I was about to stop watching this drama mainly because the first few episodes felt like this was another damsel in distress story where a prince on a white horse would conveniently sweep her off her feet and promise happily ever after but I then realize that it was more than that. Nian Nian at first was weak due to the fact that she was supposed to debut as a trio group in the Chinese entertainment idol scene but was then stabbed in the back when their member debuted solo instead. Both she and her friend Han Xue were betrayed by Jia Yi who they thought was on their side. And due to the fact that Han Che thought he was helping the girl he liked years back. This is one of those cases of mistaken identity and Han Che paid the price during the course of this drama. While Nian Nian thought that she lost the world, her friend Han Xue conveniently let's her stay at one of their houses (yes, she was rich) and be room mates with her brother Han Che (yes, coincidentally they are siblings and that was how the leads connected).

Although this drama had all the tropes a romantic comedy would have, all those connections...coincidences...and such, it still entertained me. Not gonna lie, they had chemistry and it was there. Eleanor as Nian Nian was a natural and I liked the fact that she didn't stay as a damsel in distress but go on to grow as her own person despite Han Xue helping her in the process. I would hate her if she would still be whiny and moppy. The story all in all was light and they had natural chemistry. If you want to watch something light in between intense dramas then this one's for you.

At first I thought it would be the same as all the rom-com Cdramas were. Like filled with only romantic scenes but I was proved wrong.

Story- I really like the story and also every part of the story was so touching. Like at first something bad happened with FL and her friend in her starting career but she deal with it hardly and focused with her passion and work. Whereas ML was also passionate about his work but later he also showed his full support with the FL in her career.

Each and every part of drama was showed so cleanly like the romantic, comedy or the emotional part which wasn't mixed up. I was touched with all the emotional part.

And also I would also like to appreciate the acting of all the characters specially SML (Gu Li) and also SFL ( Han Xue).
Somehow I don't know why but I found the main leads similar to the main leads of THE LOVE EQUATION.
But apart from this I really like and enjoyed watching the Drama.

The first episode had me boiling.

The plot summary looked fine to me although it's quite cliché. BUT, what actually set the mood for me was the first ep.

It's not anymore whether this drama will turn out "okay" or "too cliché and disappointing" BUT it's whether they will do this right or at least convince me on how things will turn out or I'd really be disappointed.

Very well, I actually really liked it! It's not the drama per se but the feeling you get from it that's great, which I find interesting. This is like one of the "best feels" drama.

Despite clichés, the plot did not disappoint, it wasn't draggy, and it went well.

Major thanks to its STRONG FEMALE LEAD! Yes, please. We need more of them! (enough of these dumb too naive pushover annoying FCs like c'mon it's 2020 and you're still there :/)

I really love the chemistry between the leads! If you want butterflies in your stomach, this is definitely for you! I'm surprised that despite the sweet stuff going on, they did not make me extremely cringe, and I thank them for that! (heaven knows how I hate cringey dramas) They were really just natural so it wasn't hard to watch. They're actually cute ^^

The casts did well and they all had their own developments. I did not find anyone so lacking to cause a major point deduction. I'd say the FL had the best character development. The actress did great. I love how she did not lack tears and emotions.

This definitely is not just a rom-com drama but also a slice of life.

side note: editing sucks at 'singing scenes'... it was a pain watching the singer and the song not in sync! And it didn't even look like they're trying to portray such a scene. It's just that they're not really in sync! It spoils whatever emotions they're trying to bring out.

This drama was one off my favorites this year and it was really fun to watch. I thin’ I am honestly hear for elenor lee because she is a great actor but the whole cast is really good. Sometimes I feel like that some of the moments are too coincidental but that is drama for you. Some the actors are petty sometimes but all the couples have great chemistry. A lot of the other dramas had the male lead act like a block of wood but this one is really good,I really like the cat factor in this drama

Cast
I honestly came to watch this because of Eleanor lee because she is really great. But the ML eventually grows on you. I also really like the second couple to. There story is also really great and the actors who play the second couple are also eye candy.

Seriously Cute

I was slow to warm to this Drama at first because of the formulaic tsundere/Candy setup, but the magic of the OTP won me over. ESPECIALLY Ms Li. Being cute on demand is not easy, yet she sells it throughout the Drama, never overdoing it, and so very many times conveying the impression of an adorably cute kitten with eerily uncanny accuracy. The strength of her performance was such that her "I wanna hear it again" scenes at the very end actually bumped my score from 7.5 to 8.

I also liked the balance that was nicely encapsulated in the very last lines of the Drama. In the end, it was clear that they were a pair, a partnership, with none of the implicit chauvinism so common in this trope. Having checked Ms Li's SNS, it's very clear that she is not "Nuannann", which is why I am so impressed at how well she and the ML sold me on their characters. Another fluffy keeper from the PRC, yay!
