Nothing mattered at the end.

The show lingers way too long on scenes where nothing is happening or something that should have been over after a few seconds and relies on jarring attempts of surreal behavior for attempted humor that always falls flat among other editing and writing issues.

Within all of that, the series depicted Guy and Jing who has fundamental differences in expectations for their relationship that neither could meet and were unable to resolve yet wouldn't let go of one another. Guy is a dedicated nurse and Jing is a university student who needs more attention than Guy has the time to provide. Jing knows that Guy has responsibilities that keep him, but he just can't handle it. Guy loves Jing so much that he's willing to leave an unconscious woman on the ground when Jing insisted they leave. They are clearly not in a good place to continue dating any longer and should break up. Jing of course breaks up magically with the last candy wish to make it so they never dated. Guy is now a doctor having not spent his school years dating Jing and Jing is happy with his classmates. They are still within each other's circles but no longer holding each other back. But none of that mattered because it was just the plot of Jing's student film project. The real Jing and Guy are still together and will be into their old age. The film is implied to have their be based on their real issues, but we don't see how the key ones were resolved, just that it did and back to the never ending fanservice fluff scenes.

This show is a mess to say the least, but Kana and Jing's plotline did stand out as being very competently done. Being childhood friends and Kana is Jing's refuge when he feels down and needs comfort. Kana is clearly in love with Jing, while Jing knows. Earth and Copter's chemistry really shines in their character interactions as Kana and Jing. The ease of their closeness and the palpable tension of the possibility of something more which is sadly unexplored, but the scene where they do finally address the feelings in the room is very well directed, easily the strongest scene in the entire series on all fronts, though the very messy editing with the mismatch expressions and an extra clip that should have been deleted while transitioning to the scene of Guy showing up distracts from the mood sadly. This particular director (and the writers he works with) is so selectively good at either only certain plot lines or a certain series in his entire body of work. I hope to see him nail being consistently good. I feel like he has a knack for complicated friendships type narratives in particular. This series is one of the misses alas.

I actually watched the show a second time, just to check if there are any clues in the beginning (or somewhere before the last episode) to what is happening. There are not.

And that's the least of the show's problems.

But first: What I liked:
* All of the actors played everything straight and took their job seriously.
* The funny scenes made me laugh, the cute scenes made me smile, the serious scenes were sombre.
* There were no technical issues.

But the story. Oh my.
I think the first, and most relevant, issue is that we as the audience do not get any clues that this is not supposed to be anything but one of the usual BL romances (or romance comedies).

Also, the production doesn't stick to one "genre" -- between scenes the mood jumps from serious to cutesy to plain silly.

The show could have been
-- either: a serious, heartbreaking story about a relationship that's come to its end, and how the couple deals with it, and maybe find a new way to be together,
-- or: a cute, maybe a bit trope-y story about a couple that tries to balance their relationship and work / college with cheesy slice-of-life-scenes,
-- or: a silly, over-the-top story that makes fun of alle the tropes of het and BL romances, maybe with some slapstick thrown in.
Considering the quality of the technical aspects and the acting (and, again kudos to all of the actors), either of the three genres would have been great!

I suppose this show was conceived as a parody, which is the only thing that would make at least some kind of sense -- but the audience needs to get clues what this show is supposed to be!
As it is, the show does not know what exactly it is (what it is is a mess) and leave the audience not only confused but also disappointed.

[this is a slightly edited version of my review on Viki.]

Cute but left me confused in everything

All the scenes left me confused...
It started cute and nice but my head hurts~~
so all that was just a movie????????? ghad~

- KimCopter is such a sweet pair. We can't deny that.
- Cinematography is nice. Scenes are like when you're in a candy shop. such bright sweet and cute.
- The scenes are just cut and replaced by another scene that seems to be not related and it really made me confused. There are musical scenes & it just made everything worse :(
- Actors especially the MC are such eye candy so if you just wanna kill some time with cute pretty boys go on!
- It seems this series is just produced to give KimCopter fans more of their fanservice & give slots & scenes for the sponsors to be advertised.
- If they only focused on the live streaming platform and buildta story around that without a lot of scenes, It def. will be a better series. But no, everything is all around the place. there's a lot going on. Online influencers, medical practitioners, school, dream, musical, magic & many more.. They could just pick a couple of themes but no they just put everything in there which lead to the series to be more confusing and headache.
- No 3rd party or whatever heavy drama is involved. So if you want a series without those evil characters might as well watch this.

Overall, a very cute and sweet 6-part series. Completed watching it but definitely won't be rewatching this one for sure~~~

Wholesome and cute! <3

This was such a fun drama to watch! The actors all seemed to be having fun, and everything was more or less lighthearted and charming. Despite the ending kind of being a cop-out, the flow of the story made sense and was more or less a comedic slice-of-life with some magic realism. All the characters were adorable, especially Jing (Copter's character). The drama was a bit slower than most current ones, kind of reminiscent of how slow old "Doctor Who" episodes are, but it was very calming and enjoyable to watch. I would recommend this drama to anyone who wants a show with a "Frog and Toad" feel to it.

Cutness with no coherent plot

Kimmon and Copter are kings of cute and fluffy, but even they can't save a show that lacks a coherent plot.

I was speed-watching through episodes 1-5, I could not get behind how Jing was demaning that his boyfriend, WHO SAVES LIVES FOR A LIVING, should ignore his calling to help people just to go on a date with him. There is no way, in any univerese, I would feel sympathy to a character that wants his loved one to go against his personality AND profession just to go out for dinner...

It would have been a different thing if Jing realised that even though he loves his boyfriend, he doesn't feel seen or heard in the relationship and decides to call it quits in a respectful way, I would cheer him on. Sometimes, even when there is love, the timing can be difficult and would have made more sense then him running around like a sulking child, demanding things left right and center without caring about the feelings of someone he supposedly loves.

I felt really bad for Guy, in my eyes he did nothing wrong (except maybe communicate poorly or timely) and yet he spends all his time working his freaking ass off saving people and then having to work his ass off to get his childish boyfriend to stop being pouty... The dude deserves an award!

At the start of episode 6, when they did the whole wish-thing, I started thinking: This would have been great if this was the beginning premise of the show! Instead of 5 episodes of the antics of a whining toddler, why not have the timetravel/reversal-of-fate plot instead where the two leads explore life without eachother and see if/how they would get together anyway. Would have, in my mind, been so much better!

And then it all just crashed with the reveal that the whole series was a movie that was based on "some true events"...

The series is cute, the actors give cutness in overload, but without an actual plot it kinda falls flat as as a whole. Which is a shame since I've seen most of these actors in other works where they are able to deliver great characters and emotions.

KimCopter was made a Jester

Honestly, this show doesn’t make sense and it was typically f*cked up. I pitied Kim and Copter to have this kind of wasted show. I really have high hopes on it during its trailer but this, UHHH HELL NO! When I watched Meow Ears Up, the plot was kinda weak and weird but, atleast it didn’t f*cked up; unlike here, when everything was too boring and nonsense. The candy? WTF!?!?! Whats the inner purpose of it? The candy was really nonsense. The side characters were too being nuisance because, they didn’t do nor hold any major shifts or help to the main characters, which they become a f*cking burden.
Please, don’t make BL stories without sense.
Thank you.

Note: Lee and Earth were handsome here.

I'm so.....confused

What is going on here...nothing makes sense. The plot jumps around and not connected. Other reviewers said it's a parody....a parody of what? Nothing is funny. I love KimCop but I'm so confused. The only reason I keep watching is really just for KimCop.

Hard to tell which is "reality" and which is "memory" and which is just "imaginary".

And why do you stick previews in the middle? I hate watching previews because I want to see what happens when it happens and I feel like I'm forced to watch it. Why????

Was this made just to sell the live app? The app itself doesn't make sense as well.

As much as I love Kimmon, he plays all his characters exactly the same. He talks the same. He acts the same. Would love to see some variety and him actually getting into different characters.

I love KimCop in GenY, although it's so weirdly the same but at the same time not as 2 Moons.

Hopefully they do get better scripts.

It could have been better ....

First of all, it is great to see the actor on screen again.. However, I find the storyline very unnatural and not interesting for me to continue watching. The cringe is not in a good way, almost like I felt annoyed I think?
It could have been better if the production team, or the scriptwriters take their time to build the stories in a more interesting way.. Currently I felt like this series is just like a filler, that I will watch if I have nothing else meaningful to do.
I barely bring myself to watch them in 2Moons, but nope I'm not allowing myself to go through the disappointment again.
If you guys decided to continue watch this series, hopefully it is at least enjoyable to you, and may the storyline gets better in the future episode. But yeah, for now, I am dropping this series.

Imaturidade

Não me convenceu, e a tal viagem no tempo?
