Both dramas share a similar tone; calm and relaxing. The heroine in both dramas is quiet and reserved; who is searching for an escape from their busy city life. The difference is, that Lee Yeo-reum in Summer Strike decided to come and stay in a rural town, whereas Park Ha-kyung in One Day Off decided to take one day in her week to wander wherever her heart content.

One ML who had enough of his office work escaped to a beach B&B homestay, where he met the other ML who had actually also lost his life direction. At the homestay, they build deep friendships with each other and with the folks at the homestay, finding their life purpose and direction.

It is an old drama, but has quite some depths within on finding one's life direction, chasing one's dream, and on kinship and friendship, with emotional moments amidst hilarious ones, and plenty of summer vibes. This is probably the Grandmaster of bromance and beach/village healing dramas.

The opening OST rocks as well.

The Warm feeling of Summer ...

"Ha-Min and So-Mung " chemistry and Summer Strike has the same kind of vibe . Silent , supportive , sweet Love .

Falling in love when you are in search of some warmness in life .

Both dramas have tragic past .

Yet they finds their way to the happiness in the end .

Happy Watching (^.^) !

watch this if you really like the small-town/country vibes of this drama. I
It's very chill and relaxing and it does have some other subplots, but it is very slice-of-life focused.
(subplots include some romance and a mystery)

Both Summer Strike and One Million Yen girl involves a young woman moving to a new place in order to search for their identity and live for themselves.
Both have
- Beautiful countryside cinematography
- Slice of Life , peaceful and quiet
- Female lead are both in their early 20's thus delves into problems and thoughts we face at that age

The main difference is One Million Yen girl is a movie. Summer strike is a drama. But if you like this genre of movie/drama, you should definitely check out both.

Same theme of country folk who care for each other like family. It can be sometimes annoying when everyone else is in your business but you realise later they also genuinely care for each other.

Same country vibe when a newbie moves into town and everyone initially rejects them until they later learn to accept and appreciate the newbie.

Both start off with a pretty sad first episode but warm up pretty well with a drama packed full of warmth and life while mixing in some serious bits. Also the romance timeline between the leads follows a similar pattern but switched.
