?? can be rated as best drama of the year

I can't believe I am writing a review. I never write review until the drama is really good and this drama is totally that drama of the year
I never thought I will watch this drama as I am into Rom- com dramas but this drama is an exception
First of all what a wonderful cast and acting
Both leads are the stealers especially FL and Ml both did justice to the role
I expected more romance but this cast and story really makes up for it
I will definitely tell to start watching it first after 1 st episode you will be definitely get hooked up like me

I was watching this drama without a skip till end šŸ˜. I would definitely tell this drama can bag awards this year.
I can't believe I am writing this review as I never write any review until I am sure that the drama is blockbuster and this drama is it
Suspense part is also good šŸ‘ and the male lead will make you fall in love with him

Must watch šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Solid 7. It was fun just not my type of fun.

I have been giving high reviews recently so I am excited to give this one a solid 7. I thought my drama meter was broken, turns out I still had places where I draw the line on bad.

The drama ended and I still didn't root for any of the characters, I didn't trust or believe anyone including FL. This is not what I typically watch dramas for and if it wasn't a full binge I probably wouldn't have finished.

Many smart moves and for once the police weren't bad - he might actually be my favorite. I appreciate the point of the story just can't help but think it was lacking in delivery. The villains survived far too long with their pity schemes and the only "true" villain's downfall was a behind-the-scenes prep. I am not gonna write an essay about it so I'll stop here. It was fun while it lasted but the production, cast, cameos, and acting were superior to the plot. I also don't get why we couldn't get a better happy ending when the ending was supposed to be happy. Like really no cute couples? The best couple scenes were given to the Sihyeon and not Ari?

Best of 2023

This year, lol I wont say many and pretend to be an MDL influencer, but this year my friends feeds and a few drama pages mustā€™ve seen my bitter nagging Nancy complaining about the excessive use of the ā€œwash, rinse and repeatā€ plot lines

Creativity is dead, many shows just depend on the cast name and come up with ridiculously overused plot moves in the same exact formula and order
But enough with nagging Nancy and let me say how this was different

For one, a calm elegant and truly smart and strong fl, that got to those characteristics by actual growth and steps
Second would be park gyu young, her poise, her charisma and her look truly made me believe sheā€™d be a top M worthy influencer
Third would be the well use of cliches:
-poor fl/ rich ml; but ml wasnā€™t doing the thinking and problem solving for the fl
- not evil 2fl, an anti cliche that was HIGHLY welcomed. Tho they sure did play with our hearts and kept us guessing till the end by,
- 2fl is ml ex, the cliche that usually leads to said 2fl being basically crazy
- friend that feels jealous made sense well
- crazy jealous rich x btches, again they were a good bunch, typical but entertaining dad
There are probably others anyone can add :)

Then the twists, I thought they were spoon feeding us the plot into the same old endings
Ml died, fl was ā€œmurderedā€ by the rich btches if not 2fl and her psycho husband and the nation crying and completely forgetting their own involvement in making such a scary world

One other thing I liked was how everyone had a husband tho I must say that is the makjang way, usually romcoms would only have one friend that ā€œlost to the pressureā€ and gave up on the single life xD

Bbbfamous, such a sad existenceā€¦ idk how I feel about it tbh, sure ppl vent out their own mental struggles on others but are all depressed ppl who are envious and tired of the social pyramid should be considered evil?
Maybe cuz flā€™s bff was the anti who was tired of living in the shadow and never seeing fame, was enough so bbbfamous had to have a different bg, tbh Iā€™m atleast glad she was a ā€œfake facadeā€ rather than completely just ā€œugly/dirtyā€ā€¦
Ppl might think ah, so antis and haters are like that, crazy. But we only write support based on events so technically weā€™re not being antis
Like a scandal coming and everyone becoming keyboard warriors without fully knowing the truth but always carrying that info as the ultimate truthā€¦.

Anyway the last two eps went heavy on the twists and they sure did a mission impossible tho again it was a clever way to keep up with the modern times

Now for the deaths and drug, I mean it could be true but if it didnā€™t exist, how wouldā€™ve they continued? Basically it feels like a cheat sheet but atleast they used it once

Ari as a whole, was grey, but thatā€™s the moral, is it worth it.. as someone who made a kdrama fan account on insta and TikTok, I did experience a few things that overall did make me believe the things happened were realistic
Using others to gain followers, buying followers, insta and TikTok having their own algorithm and hidden agendas on who and what gets viral, all are such stressful things honestly even scrolling through insta becomes suffocating when everyone is desperately screaming ā€œlook at meā€. Thankfully I just edit drama clips so I donā€™t have to participate in that rat race sometimes I get 700k viewā€™s sometimes I get 7 xD

Honestly, this was one of my most anticipated shows after the KNetflix 2023 lineup was announced and it did not disappoint me. There was barely any slow moment in the show and every episode leaves you hooked. The intensity of the plot and characters just have you on the edge of your seat to know what happens next.

Ari is such a well-written and admirable character that makes you want to root for her in any way. Through her eyes, the ugly world of social media, influencers, and the the trajectory of these influencer's hunger for fame and luxury items were unraveled. I also love how Sihyeon's character was written. In almost every KDrama I've watched the ex-girlfriend is usually pretty jealous, but Sihyeon oozes so much class that you can't help but love her. The influencers on this show were evil fr and it honestly goes to show how much these influencers/celebrities we love would go to keep their fame and fake lives. Not a single one of them was likable in my opinion. It's disturbing how the internet can be and how we can lash out at people we barely know based on what we read, hear, and see. I loved the way the writers broke it down. There's so much this drama was trying to convey.....the shallow-mindedness of measuring one's worth and even happiness according to the brands one carries. The entire plot leaves the audience with so much to reflect. The desire to be part of the high society living, to be in the who's who on social media, to be somebody....makes me wonder if that's all there is to live in this modern world.

The downside of this show was that the ending was a bit rushed and some things not being explained clearly but if it's cause the show was centered on how Ari went from being a door-to-door seller to an E-celeb, nevertheless, it was still had an unsatisfactorily ending. But regardless, this show is solid, and as usual Studio Dragon never disappoints.

An Enduring Love Entwined with Revenge

The drama as a whole in my opinion was well executed, leaving viewers wanting another season and wondering whether the story truly is finished. For me, what really made thus series likeable is the attitude of Seo Ari, unlike most of our female leads in Kdrama's she wasn't happy-go-lucky nor did she fall into the arms of our male lead Han Ju Kyoung. And Han Ju Kyoung was an amazing male lead, giving us that satisfying trope of 'he fell first and then fell harder. As an audience we could see that special 'like' he had for her develop into something closer to love. At times the plot was confusing or a little bit too simple but who am I to complain? All in all, fantastic kdrama, enjoyable and definitely re-watchable.

interesting and unique storyline

I actually enjoyed this one thoroughly, the plot twists and the storyline was quite interesting but I did think the ending was quite unsatisfactory. Some parts were quite cringe but overall good fun . I donā€™t think I would rewatch this anytime soonā€” but maybe a bit later in the future. i found some of the characters way too annoying sometimes but im also glad the main character got casted bc I missed her a lot from Its Okay to Not Be Okay!! so happy to see her again in this one. the love story was okay.

Cute!

Just finished camping and I love it.
I love the behind-the-scenes of how they portray the reality of social media. How fans need to realize that they are humans too and thereā€™s a limit to everything.
But, I love romance. I wish there were more romantic moments between the two main leads but overalls I just love the story. The revenge was outstanding. I'm in love when mains know how to give real consequences to those pitches BAHAHAHA. I love their acting tho. Omg those GIRLS were hot and amazing portraying their characters. Well deserved. Ngl some scenes of Ari looks like HYURI. Aweeee I miss Hyuri so much. But anyways, j would definitely recommend watching this if your looking for a quick kdrama show.
The ending made me move to King the LAND. IfyykšŸ¤£šŸ¤£

i was suprised

at first i did not want to start this drama because i am not interested in social media or influencers however i gave this drama a chance and i was suprised!
we follow the story of Ari who wants to earn easy money with social media but there is more to it...
even the beginning of the first ep is !!! cause we are watching the present and past time of the storyline.
i won't say any spoilers besides that this drama shows well how hate in the internet and jelousy works and how insane people aact to become famous.
one point i missed a bit is that there could have been a bit of more romance but this is clearly not a drama about romance but give me 10 more minutes with this couple! :D
i also disliked the quick ending with one of the bad people, like show me the history of this person!
overall i binge watched this drama and give it a 9/10 :)
ps: do not ever post harmful stuff on the internet, this drama is a reminder.

DISCALIMER: THERE'S A LOT OF TRIGGERS INTO THIS KDRAMA

I really liked the story and got really excited with the plot twists, this drama really got me watching 12 episodes in 2-3 days, I just needed to see what would happen. Despite all the good things about this series, we need to talk about the triggers it contains, Netflix's parental rating is 16 years, but I really think this should be an šŸ”ž

I loved to see some special appearances like Jung Yoo-jin (W, Romance is a bonus book, snowdrop) and Seol In-ah (Business Proposal, Mr. Queen, Oasis).
An actress that I really enjoyed seeing as a main character was Lee Chung-ah, this was the third kdrama that I watched with her and she's always stunning!

Started off interesting and devolved with a confusing message ???

This story started off interesting. I was crediting it with being the first kdrama in a while to get me out of my slump.

The MC Seo Ari is not the most compelling MC I've seen because the show seemed intent to flip flop between her being meek and her being strong when it felt like it. I truly think the actress did the best she could, but it was often frustrating watching Seo Ari just bite her tongue and freeze when bad things were happening. Like the entire plot at the nightclub.

The Gabin Society, minus Min Hye and Si-hyeon, felt interchangeable. The only thing that separated them were their secrets, to be honest.

I called who was doing the livestream early, but it only confused the message, to be honest. I think it may have been better if bbbfamous had been someone that was close to Seo Ari. The show established that it hurt her the most to have her best friend be one of her detractors. Turning the mastermind behind her rise and fall into a jealous, minimum wage worker, living in a messy apartment with roaches kind of removed any sort of message, IMO. Sure, the only reason the Gabin Society and Seo Ari were able to prosper was through regular people supporting them. However, part of the reason people rooted for Seo Ari in the first place was because these women couldn't be torn down by a regular person. It had to be someone with a following.

Even if the end result was that a regular person was behind bbbfamous, it would've made more sense for it to be a group of regular people getting revenge on the Gabin Society. Seo Ari could've joined them or the show could've made her into someone who'd actually done something wrong because in the end, the message is clouded by the biggest fall from grace being Seo Ari's. She is ruined, Park from the warehouse is ruined, her mother was in jail for tax evasion. The show focuses more on Seo Ari's struggles and doesn't focus on the Gabin Society's fall nearly as much. So, what was the message?

The regular people can make or break you? (Where the regular person was an obsessed psycho who went after someone who also used to be a regular person and still had morals. You know, and not the rich people that were cruel to others.)
Fame can make or break the people around you? (Where she ended up forgiving her backstabbing friend and they helped fool the public together?)

Whatever the message, this show took a swan dive into melodrama in the last 2 episodes and some of the acting choices were cringey. Starting a romance where the FMC accuses the love interest of sexual harassment is a weird choice and I also never warmed to that guy. It felt like the screenwriters were told to insert as much cursing into the story as they possibly could and that sometimes made the dialogue really cringey.

So, would I recommend this show? Yes, if you want to turn your brain off. No, if you're looking for something to make you think.

Celebrity (2023) ā€“ itā€™s really a Netflix thriller drama and it shows, high budgeted, beautiful transition and pacing. I love how the story unfolds, itā€™s quite usual especially if the genre is crime thriller but the part that this drama revolves around e-celebs and its quite rising in this generation is really a good theme. The drama has a really good impression to me overall, I finished the drama in two days so I could say that I was really into it. The male lead is screaming red flag to me so I'm not quite a fan of the leads love story part in the drama, but still thankful that it was not highlighted as much. Would definitely recommend, worth watching.

compelling storyline

The acting, particularly by Gyu Young, stands out as she delivers a remarkable performance beyond what I initially expected. Her portrayal adds depth to Seo A-ri's character, making her journey to fame more relatable and engaging.

The series also excels in cinematography, providing a visually stunning experience. Each scene is beautifully captured, creating a visually appealing and captivating atmosphere. I would expect anything more from Flower Of Evil's director.

While the overall storyline is intriguing, at some times I felt that the focus is too much focus on the antagonists. This may have affected the character development of the male lead.

One aspect that made me feel mixed emotions is the reconciliation between the A-ri and her friend, who had previously created a hate page about her. If I have to be honest, it's still hard to believe and accept.

Nevertheless, Celebrity managed to leave a long-lasting impression on me due to its compelling storyline, outstanding acting, and aesthetically pleasing cinematography.
