Dilraba is as beautiful as ever..and that's about it

Update: The plot really does not improve, so just spend time on this drama to enjoy the looks (not the acting) of the leads and supports.
I also wanted to share how much of the background music is recycled from Royal Nirvana--where the music was amazingly in synch to the story and scenes but just seems to amplify angst in this drama. But that said, this music has also been used in Allen Ren/Bai Lu's One and Only as well as Ryan Ding/Yang Chao Yue Love You Seven Times, and even in Love and Fairy and Devil (which is even rather interesting, as Li Yi Tong who starred in RN is also in this drama) ---so perhaps the music is not even original to Royal Nirvana..

So as to the plot....

The first handful of episodes are 'fun' as Dilraba plays a smart and flirty girl, so you may overlook how lame the plot is to make her look intelligent and then it goes downhill dragging out the angst and guilt and obsessive greed to gain at the expense of the good of the people. The greed plots are lame-best example, the fake FL wants to become crown princess at all costs--but nobody points out to her that she would be choosing to escape one perceived imprisonment to another as a royal behind the palace walls--and of all people, the Crown Prince insists on her selection while insisting the girl he does love isn't chosen because he doesn't want her stuck being his wife.. So huh? he's insisting the fake becomes his wife simply because of a promise even if he knows it will make that person miserable--and he's the hero?
Those around the fake can bring armies to the fore but choose to be powerless to stop her and yet feel guilty that she was in a gilded cage...after barely being to eat when she was found...you could argue she was not given a choice when she became the fake-but still, isn't being housed, safe, elegantly clothed and educated a bit better than struggling to survive? And she insists on more than that to become a princess at the obvious risk of deceiving the emperor and losing her life? Is she really that dumb and yet conniving enough to pursue her obsession?

The story does not improve--the plot/script last arc of episodes are ridiculous---I have to point out my observations:
--They go to war...but as soon as FL is in supposedly in trouble, the ML drops everything to 'rescue' her--but whereas he isn't busted for doing so, the SML is-for defying imperial orders....but then when things end up badly...they seem to just hang around until FL decides to take action. and then suddenly there's an urgency to act--wouldn't they have been strategizing a response from the get go? And why is it she can just go to war with no provisions/resources?
--ML ends up being cared for by enemy princess...and it's just all good...um? where did she have the resources to save him? why save him? why isn't her brother figuring out the ML is there?
and I could go on, but others have already so will stop here.

Such a boring drama surrounded by only character anle making mess everywhere.

such a frustrating drama it gives pain. First anle comes for revenge but in the name of that all she did play and just confronted han family bcz of that han ye, anning blamed her if it was my plot everyone would have died who cares about clearing one's name. Second, how can one be so blind in love that Didn't see the dirty plot of the war and fall in trap after plotting 10 years of fake revenge and anning died in vain. Third, just bcz of lou's mistake he should die? Then why Don't the whole han family give up on their life to repay di family and 80,000 people. What a ridiculous drama

Another sweet story from Dilireba & Gong Jun... Very interesting for Gong Jun to get like reverse role from his character in Word of Honor, where WoH he's so flirty & here he more the shy one & Dilileba is the flirty one..

OK. Just like every drama this drama also have good & bad point. Let's talk about them. Oh BTW the bad point gonna write some big spoiler, so if you don't want to read just skip it then. But as usual I gonna write the safe review first.

The good part:
+ The chemistry between Gong Jun & Dilireba, I really like it. The flirty Dilireba match with shy Gong Jun is so good....
+ Good story that don't really bored you. Haha... There's always something happen when you think it's peaceful time already.
+ An Le & Han Ye really meant to be together. Hihi...

The not so good part:
- Everything just too pretty in the end. I don't know how to describe it, not that I don't like it too actually. Just too pretty...
- The stupid Luo Ming Xi (MX). Oh how poor of him. But that's the tragedy he bring himself.

Overall this quite good story to watch

The Spoiler part:
- I think the ending kinda rush in a way. There're 2 point in this actually:
* How easy to capture Leng Bei (LB). Oh how in the end he kinda just give up & surrender to An Le & MX. Not even try to resist & fight till the end kinda thing. That in my opinion more fit with the character of LB himself.
* How unimportant the death of MX. I know he died cause of his long time illness & something predictable. But after the weeping death of MX by An Le earlier, I kinda want to see something special about his actual dead Like at least give him proper burial or mourning scene...
- I don't know to put this into bad or good. They're just too clever. Haha... Like how to help An Le escape & how to rescue Wen Shuo. When both MX & Han Ye just still teenage boy himself is something extraordinary I think

Didn't like the drama that much

It's a revenge story. I had no problem with the show having two plots. 1st half revenge plot & 2nd half war. I didn't like how the truth was revealed, it felt incomplete & not properly executed.

Love Ren Anle character so much. She is flirting, charming, cheerful, straightforward. Han Ye is totally opposite cold, calm. Princess An Ning is another character I love.

I don't know why, but I didn't like Gong Jun acting in here. I know he is a well-known actor but his acting here was blank. I didn't feel connected. I watched his show Begin Again, where his acting was average. Dilraba Dilmurat did a good job of playing Anle. Liu Yu Ning acting was also good, but I loved his songs the most.

I’m going to be honest upfront. This review is based on me watching a few episodes and then skipping forward. I like the genre, the wardrobe and I can even deal with the revenge plot however I just couldn’t get into it and here’s why
1) the FL is popular, yes but the role just didn’t seem natural
2) her flirting in the beginning was overly cringy
3)didn’t like part of the plot, she was suppose to be a good person but she purposely used and deceived the one person who cared about her. It would have been better if he knew and they worked together.
4) I couldn’t find a character other than the ML that seemed respectable.
5) hidden identity troupe is overly play in to many dramas.

What I did like? the acting was ok.
Will I rewatch? No
Chemistry? I guess but it was weird.

INJUSTICE UNFORGIVABLE

The story is quite smooth and really Good acters make this this a good handiwork. I am utterly unsatisfied with one thing, the fake ziyan suffered hell in thal lonely, desolate place doing nothing but imitating the real one's lifestyle. how unfair, in that prison being watched and betrayed by her only accompany. After all that she had to bear the false tile of being a traitors daughter despised by everyone in this world. The one she thought to rely on ,his highness, soon abandoned her after knowing the truth. Who will uphold justice for her???? 😭😭😭.She had no one to rely on in this world, as she was born poor for a plate of food she had to take up the fake role while the fake is suffering the real is enjoying the world. In the end she takes her role effortlessly depriving the fake of her title leaving a poor, pitiful girl behind.😞😞😭😭😭

Classic drama factory idol drama

1st episode already sets the viewers to low expectations...

FL & ML are on a boat, flips over the boat. The top of the boat randomly disappears....? So she can somehow jump out of the water INSTA DRY w/ perfect hair.....
Everyone refers to themselves in 3rd person.....cringe.

The only reason to watch this is for the fans of the actors. For me it's Liu Yu Ning. He was so memorable in the Long Ballad that I've been looking forward for his other supporting roles.

Notable enjoyable aspects:
Anything with Liu Yu Ning (completely bias here)
Tim Pei as Leng Bei (He's better playing these emotionless military roles)
Mu Qing's character - classic selfless silent and suffering type
Anle Princess - badass female character

Ep 3: the solo dance was very beautiful, the only memorable dance scene.

Else this drama is very standard

Almost but never quite

Let me start by saying, Gong Jun is very pretty. But as another commentor put it, his acting is vacous and uninspiring. He found moments in 'Unique Lady' and Zheng Ze Han provided him a place to do very well in 'Word of Honor', but he needs to be a second lead at best. Han Ye with Wen Shuo were his best moments, more relaxed and normal than any other time. Dilraba is a master at all levels of acting. Liu Lu Ning is also extremely talented. Some of the characters that surprised me were Linlang and Leng Bei. The actress playing Linlang should be playing more prominent roles. The scenery often looked too fake. The story was very good and very bad. Why wasn't HanYe in more despair over lising his sight? Why and how did Mo Shuang find him? Where were other soldiers when the Princess was fighting? The music was excellent. The CGI...was that actually CGI? Was the emperor that paranoid in the book? Editing was ok, not great. Did the director even watch the series? A lot of problems should have been fixed if he did. I am not disappointed, but I am.

Star-Studded Cast Fails to Save Disappointing Storyline in The Legend of AnLe

For a drama with sooo many big names, I found this to be quite disappointing. Personally, I think the storyline is boring and 40 episodes is such a drag. I don't think I have ever dislikes a male lead so much before. The SML was done so dirty, like he deserved justice which was not served. My favourite character was LingLan, of course she is cute and cool, and everything else BUT she's a ninja too. In The Legend of AnLe I felt like so many characters did not deserve their ending which was really unsatisfying. The only thing I liked was the OST, which was done beautifully. Overall, I would not recommend this drama, 7/10, only due to the actors in it.

Mix-feeling. Great casting but poor storyline.

The casts are great but Storyline dip after Ep.30 or something.
I watched it because of Dilraba. I really like Dilraba’s act as Ren Anle’s character. Really bold.
Di Ziyuan character is quite boring but the actress who played the fake Di Zi Yuan is actually good.
Prince Han Ye: I think Gong Jun hit a jackpot with this character. Han Ye is a boring character but I like Gong Jun’s act here. Somehow it fits.
I enjoyed watching Ren Anle’s teasing Han Ye. The scenes are extremely adorable.
The actress who played Anning should be praised.
Supporting roles like the Eunuch, servants in palace, ministers, Emperor & Empress Dowager are all good in acting.
The most regretful thing about this drama, the storyline did not progress well after excellent few episodes.
Despite of the talented acting of its casts, they can’t save the poor story-line.

It's the ending for me.

Honestly it would have been if the last 5 episodes were just vanished. Like I know they had to wrap up the Northern Quin arc but it felt rush and to have 2 of the characters that make the show die in a way that seems forced , for what? Honestly it feels like it should have been longer but they rushed it. I mean they could have just had meteors fall from the sky and it would be better. Ending. The princess death was honestly meh it felt like a semi decent way to end her arc, but I mean she did pick up a strange man on the side of the road during literal war, that was never going to end well. Plus the brother plot felt tact on. If you are going to ask I have zero plans to read the book. Honestly don't feel like you should read the book to watch the show. Also it seems like it went through many hands to rework it.

Wastage of time.

Its just a revange story upto 39 episodes. There is no chemistry between Ml and Fl .after 20 episodes you expect may be they will get together. But they don't get together up to 40 episode.there is no emotional involvement between main leads.

Just the episodes in which fl was ran anle were good . Otherwise up to end there is only schemes and war
