9/10 is my rating. This is a 2014 South Korean drama spanning 21, 60 minute, Episodes.

Oh Chang-min (Choi Jin-hyuk) was a 20 year old medical student when he met and fell in love with Oh Jin-hee (Song Ji-hyo) a dietician. They married thinking their love could withstand his family’s disapproval and their withdrawal of financial support. Chang-min gives up his goal of being a doctor and becomes a medical salesman to support the young couple. Both become miserable doing things they dislike and it puts too much stress on their relationship. They divorce after a heated battle. Six years later finds them both having gone through medical school and interning at the same hospital under a “Chief” nicknamed “The Devil”. The anger they felt from years ago has not dissipated but it seems some love remains to. Fate has thrown the two together but will their love rekindle and can they, with six years of life experience overcome the obstacles this time around?

Spoiler 🚨 I really liked this romance and found the emergency room aspects really interesting. They have a lot of medical cases that mimic things that happen in real life and it really added to the story. It’s often true that people get stuck on the a track and don’t take care of their love. Being a couple takes a lot of commitment to making things work and weathering the difficult times by always thinking of the other person. I also like the side romances and just all of the character development. The only thing that kept me from a higher rating was there were aspects of the ending that were a little soft but that’s just my own personal preference.

Salah satu drama favorit saya.

Worth Watching it

I only started watching it bc of Jin Hyuk, I've watched some shows with him being always the rejected one so when I saw that he'd be the ML of this one I immediately started watching it, but, even though I liked the story and I was enjoying the kdrama, deep inside I only kept watching it to the end bc of him. The reasons are simple:
1. The story had so many unnecessary sneces that took so long to finish. I saw myself skipping most sneces after episode 10. For me, this kdrama didn't need to have 21 episodes, 12 or 14 it'll be enough.
2. The FL. I didn't like her from the very first beginning, but as the story were passing by I started to like her a bit. As a doctor and as a divorced woman. But, still, I think she lacked something more, so nhe...
3. The 2nd couple. At some point I started to like the idea of the 2nd ML and the FL being together but he started to piss me off hahaha, also, that female doctor, I think the ideia was her to represent a mature woman who wouldn't care about her past boyfriend, but what I saw so far was a woman who was still in love with her ex and wouldn't let him go. Always trynna to help him to be with our FL, I mean, why do u even care, girl? We can clearly see that he didn't like his ex and only cared about our FL who didn't feel the same, but ok, the problem is that our 2nd male lead kept going to the female doctor always when he had a romantic problem, knowing that she STILL LIKED HIM and then she would accept helping him all the time. Mature woman? I'd say Stupid Woman. It's ok to help others when they need but you become really pitiful and stupid from the moment you keep helping your ex when he doesn't care about how you still feel about him. I think they had so much potential as a 2nd couple but the way that they "progressed" was sh*t

But this shows had some points good.
1. I liked the way how the ML has matured after his father death.
2. The way that the main couple progressed to respect and love each other again was smooth and good to watch
3. The emotional scenes from the patients were also good

anyway, I wouldn't watch it again but I don't feel that I've lost my time watching this show, it was really good for me seeing Jin Hyuk face being the Male Lead he deserves to be, I love him LMAO.
I'd recommend this to someone who's looking for a simple and shallow show to just pass the free time

This medical drama focus on the romantic aspect while not forgetting the medical part. It focus on the 6 interns on the Emergency Medical Center (EMC) and their 2 mentors.

It’s written and directed well, even though I think it’s a bit rushing the ending and sagging in the middle. The time frame is a bit unbelievable, since the story should only span across the first 3 months of the interns life in EMC, but it feels like they are more like a year.

I love the chemistry between all the casts. The 6 interns with their own history and background. I love how as the story progress the newly married couple start to see the reality of married life all it’s challenges, and how they grow with each challenges. We could also clearly see the development of character from our main divorce couple. They’re learning how to work together again and how to rebuild and define their relationship. The other 2 interns also see a lot growth, since they are quite young, and become a responsible adult. The 2 mentors also have a really interesting connection between them and between the interns.

I’m not particularly impressed with the music. I cannot remember any of the soundtrack from this drama, but I think the music fits the show.

I think if you like romantic comedy or medical drama, you have to watch this. It’s a must watch.

I still can't imagine that I watched drama with the medical plot! But I liked it very much. The romance was act well and main actors were very good. I really have sentiment to this drama even that it's not one of my favourites. But I can recommend it! :)

“I don't know how to love in a cool, mature way like you do.” ~ Chang Min

This is by no means a good drama. Character development, plot development, relationship development, it's all lacking. Watch this for the heroine's competence, the second male lead's adorkable performance and Choi Jin Hyuk's perfect facial expressions.
It's pretty long at 21 episodes but the more I saw of the main couple and even the secondary couple, the more I liked them. It really is an enjoyable drama.
I wasn't looking forward to a medical drama but I actually found that I really started getting on board with the drama when the hospital work started.
There are plenty of insults and bickering being flung around but I just skipped over it.
Chang Min is pretty popular among the interns but Jin Hee is not. They call her the old lady so that amused me that Chang Min would fall back in love with her again. Despite all the antagonism it's not long before they are protecting each other in spur of the moment decisions.
I also like the concept that trivial matters like divorce don't matter in life and death situations. And people's real values and strengths can arise in a crisis.
The setting of the internship is also a nice background for leveling all the interns no matter what background they come from they are equal.
Finally, the dudes in this drama are pretty shy and gawky when it comes to romance which is always fun.

Chang Min
I am so ridiculously biased to Choi Jin Hyuk. He is one of my all time favourite actors to crush on. I was beyond excited to finally watch a drama where he gets the main role. I have to admit I was a little alarmed to see his personality at first. I've only ever seen him as kind and serious. Even in rom-coms. I wasn't sure if this show would ruin him for me but he's too handsome not to enjoy seeing him on the screen and his comic face gets me every time. He's hilarious. And when he turned the charm on...I was so done. I've also never seen him smile so much.
He gets fawned on a lot by women which I can understand, but it amuses me to have my crush on him so validated. His awkwardness when he's on the receiving end of attention is adorable. I especially liked that all the young things (and some older women too!) are chasing him around and he's just following after Jin Hee all the time.
Chang Min comes from a doctor family and he's very knowledgable. He always knows what's wrong with a patient and what to do. I was glad that he wasn't a braggart about that. He was a braggart about everything else though.
I really liked his acting after his crisis towards the end of the drama. It's a side of him that doesn't really appear throughout and I liked seeing his hopeless and listless portrayal. It was really effective.

Jin Hee
This girl is rocking the red hair. I love that she took her weaknesses and did something about them. She can be quite impulsive but she has the guts to respond in emergencies better than Chang Min.
Of course there are mistakes but she proves her competence again and again. It's brilliant.

Romance
“I don't remember it at all. About seducing a girl...how do I even start? How did I do it in the beginning?”

After Chang Min gets over his immaturity over the divorce he really is a oppa kind of hero. He likes to take care of everything for Jin Hee and I mean everything.
The pair had great chemistry. Both as colleagues and as a couple.

Chief Chun Soo
I liked this guy in Pinocchio so I was really happy to see him again. He maintains that awkwardness and abruptness that is so endearing.
He makes for a great boss with a past. Firm but compassionate and a little geeky.
He really became the highlight of the show for me. He's so good at smiling with his eyes.

Elders
I think this is a really good example of how much Jin Hee loves Chang Min that she can love his mother as well. I also find it amusing that really both Jin Hee and I were both most touched when Chang Min said, “I'll never let her yell at you again.”

Gwang Soo
I didn't think this weirdo would get a mention. But I did like him.
“If you practice a lot in music you don't make mistakes on stage. But you don't get to practice marriage, it starts right away as a live show. So of course accidents can happen. People aren't watermelons. You have to tap so many of them to choose one.”

Professor Shim
I liked how wholeheartedly she supported Chun Soon.

Marriage is a live broadcast. There is no rehearsal where you can practice.

I am a fan of Song Ji Hyo but this is the first drama I watched in a major role. The first one was Goong or The Princess Hours but it was a minor role and I hardly recognize that it was her. ( I am a newbie die-hard fan of RM, forgive me). Anyway, I enjoyed it but I couldn't help but utter my sadness that Gook Chun Soo didn't have the courage to see through what it would be like if he forms a relationship with Oh Jin Hee.

Anyway, I compiled a fun fact and amazing discoveries regarding the drama as a side review.

1. Hate the mother-in-law as usual and played by no other than Lee Min Ho’s stepmother in The Heirs. She was annoying then, she is still annoying now even if this drama was aired in 2014.
2. Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk, played Lee Min Ho's older half-brother) and Park Joon Geum starred in the same drama The Heirs (she played Lee Min Ho's so-called mother) and this time the same actress played Chang Min's mother.
3. Gary’s cameo appearance. I doubt if it was even scripted. All were adlibs and so funny. Monday couple is the best! This was mentioned in one of Running Man's episodes as well.
4. Chang Min guested in Running Man October 2013 with Kim Woo BIn and Park Shin Hye promoting The Heirs and three months after he and Song Ji Hyo shoot this drama, Emergency Couple.
5. In one of the scenes as Park Joon Geum and her sisters were in a spa, she mentioned Lee Min Ho and Kim Woo Bin as guys who can replace her husband after the divorce. Another adlib I think. What a pun and funny too.

This drama is a fun drama to watch. You should give it a chance somehow.

Low budget drama - both financially and brainly

This drama is neither medically challenging one nor romantically attractive one.
First half of the drama it is portrayed the ML as a big trashy jerk, and in the second half of the drama the FL is fickle minded.
In the first episode ML and FL got married and got divorced due to mismatch in lots of things, ok it’s understandable that they did mistake by rushing for marriage but after got divorced they start to cursing with each other especially the ML in a very disappointing way, that to once they loved soo deeply, I felt it’s too unrealistic.
In the starting of the drama ML insults FL in a very unacceptable way, he scold to FL (ex-wife) number of times that she sell her body, kisses etc etc to get a favour from higher ups. How can a ex-husband can tell to someone once he loved so much and got married also.
Fickle FL, when she decided to start a new life with someone and start to develop feelings on chief and giving signal that he is more than just a mentor or supervisor but when the ML father died again she got her feeling back on ML. Poor chief who still had feelings for his ex-girlfriend got over(she was waiting or ready to accept him) to develop feelings on FL, even though FL knew that the second ML(chief) has feelings for her she keeps on stirring his feelings and giving wrong signal(according to ending) to him and SML keeps on stirring the feelings of SFL by showing to SML about his helplessness and love towards the FL. This is only Kdrama I saw such cruel towards SML and SFL. Most cruel one is when he decided to confess his feelings to the FL he witnessed her kissing the ML, 😳 too cruel.
When ML realized that because of him she hurt, suffered and suffering a lot he told to FL to start a new life with some one with whom she loves, but instead of vanishing from her life( he had qualification, money and everything so that he can also start a new life) he keeps on nagging with her by simply showing he is maintaining some distance with her.
Most of the drama is filled with medical cases but I didn’t seen any such challenging cases or surgeries. All the cases were solved in ER itself, its soo immature.

I wouldn`t say this one`s a great drama but I actually liked it. I almost did not watched this because google reviews were very poor saying it is not worth watching. Even though some of the characters are lacking when it comes to acting and some of the scenes can be improved, it isn`t something that`s actually worth criticizing. It`s not a feel good drama either or where the plot is worth looking forward to but it is something that you can still enjoy. Its also not a full blown medical drama and should not expect anything grandiose because the scenes are focused for emergency situations and nothing more.

It started off good. The first half was quite funny, kind of got me hooked but nearing the end got me confused + happy (idk if that makes sense but anyways)

I enjoyed the story and how they conveyed many messages. For example, how we don't look at life from another person's view, how we should stop being self centered and take a step back to grasp the situation. Sometimes mistakes are made to make us understand what we've doing wrong, so it could help us get back into the right track.
I love 2nd chance romance idea (especially when the leads still have lingering feelings for each other) because the characters correct themselves and ensure they make sure they don't make the same mistakes.
I liked the fluffy touch to this drama. Moreover, it didn't contain many intense scenes from hospitals so it was mild. It also showed the life of doctors.

I also loved the chemistry between the leads (i mean they were really cute <33)

However, there were few setbacks to this dramas.
It would have been a nice drama if sml stuck to his feelings. He should have pursued fl if he liked her but decided to hold back, but then again had lingering feelings towards her even when she was dating ml. There are times when he still had feelings for sfl (so i'm not really sure of who he really likes. )
It's sad because i liked his character of being the supportive chief. I loved sfl, she's a friend who everyone wants. I believe she still liked him however i'm not sure of why they broke up.

I have so many unanswered questions however this drama is a good watch.

This is basicly a ER story it evolves around the the main characters with medical related issues. I liked the hospital theme and patients stories, but to me they focus too much on it that the love story fells flat and very slow pace with the main characters love on the side line and the live problems of them more on the forefront. I was dissapointed that the supporting roles although great through the series at the last episodes are unresolved at just left unfinished. I really liked the story but they should have make it more appealing and not rushed the love part in the last episode, which leaves this drama as just a medical drama with a splash of romance and more life lessons.

Emergency Couple (AKA Emergency Man and Woman)

This is a "second chance at love" show. The premise is a divorced couple meet again as interns in the same Emergency Room. Sparks fly. The primary couple is Oh Jin Hee, played by Song Ji Hyo, and Oh Chang Min, played by Choi Jin Hyuk. I'll be honest. Choi Jin Hyuk flips my switch, so I'm inclined to love anything that I see him in because, yeah. Ahem. Anyway. They are a couple that married young and against the wishes of his family and then broke up spectacularly after a year. Six (I think) years later, they meet up again when they are both assigned as interns to the same team in the emergency department of their hospital. What follows is a couple re-learning what it was that attracted them in the first place, and also what ways they had to grow before they could really be successful together. The show does hit a point where it starts to drag a bit when some tragic things happen and Oh Chang Min spends two or three episodes kind of back sliding and wallowing, but once you get through that, you're rewarded with a couple of wrap up episodes that tie everything up neatly and satisfactorily. The secondary couple are really fun to watch together and have just as satisfying, though less delved, story as the main couple. The supporting cast is fun. I've already watched this drama twice and will probably watch it again at some point in the future because, as mentioned, Choi Jin Hyuk, damn. That voice, that smile. Mmph.
