Kohei Kuryu is a former juvenile delinquent who drops out of junior high and goes on to earn a high school equivalency diploma. After passing the law board exams, Kuryu becomes a prosecutor. Not your typical prosecutor, which is quickly seen through the clothes that he wears, Kuryu possesses quick instincts and a kind of cleverness that only someone raised on the streets could have. Maiko Amamiya is a shrewd paralegal who has her eyes set on passing the exam to become a public prosecutor and tries her best to be noticed by her boss. Kuryu, on the other hand, after earning a reputation for doing top-notch work, is transferred to Amamiya's division and finally opens his eyes to the possibility of promotion. Unfortunately, his unprecedented work behavior abruptly brings things to a halt. Although earning a reputation as a bad apple, the influence of Kuryu's strong pursuit of justice slowly begins to change things around him. This drama is filled with it all; love, laughs and lots of emotion. (Source: Fuji TV) Edit Translation

I'm not good with watching dramas that are younger (or older) than at least 2007, I don't know why but none of them seemed to pique my interest. Until I found this drama through my new-found love of Kimura Takuya... because of "Mr. Brain", of course! It was great to see Abe Hiroshi, Kadono Takuzo, Otsuka Nene, Takahashi Katsumi, and so many others in this series as well; the entire guest cast for each episode was fantastic. Kimura Takuya portrayed his character very well, it seems that he does the "air head but secretly a genius" role very well, I think. The script was very well written, the witty banter and the rapport between the cast was fantastically played out as if we were just watching a live camera feed from a prosecutor's office. If you were like me, and don't give "older" dramas a chance, then I feel sorry for you, because you're definitely missing out on this gem!!

One thing I love about Kimura Takuya  is that he most of the time plays rather quirky and interesting characters, this drama is no exception. This drama may have a boring subject but you can't help to watch Kohei Kuryu and his obsession for buying things off shopping channels! watching this drama is a nice break from the norm and it's interesting to see what a prosecutor does as most crime shows focus on detectives.
