editSynopsis

The movie looks at four couples whose lives are interrupted by South Korea's mandatory military service. Hyo-jeong is dating the much-younger Won-jae when he leaves for military service, and his visits home put a strain on her wallet. Bo-ram has a crush on bandmate Min-cheol, who ignores her in favor of Han-na. Jin-ah and Eun-sok are the perfect, cutesy couple, but telling his best friend to take care of her turns out to be Eun-sok's mistake. High school student Bi-ang's reaction to live-in boyfriend Heo Wook's departure is to go out and find a replacement - innocent college student Ho Sin.

This a really great movie. Its interesting to see how each of the 4 couples relationships remain throughout the 2 years that they are separated due to their military service. Couples you expect to stay together, break apart and couples you expect to dissolve surprisingly flourish. I loved the entire cast but especially enjoyed the performance by Jang Hee Jin ( can be seen in Spy Myungwol) because her character was different than what i'm used to seeing from her other roles. My only problem with this movie is not enough Jang Gun Suk lol. No but really this movie is really interesting and has a cool cast of characters. I loved it and will easily watch again!

I watched this movie because I was curious exactly how things worked when men went into army service. Its part of the korean culture I haven't completely grasped yet. While it wasn't a movie on males in army service itself (which is probably good because I more than likely would have gotten bored xD) it did help me understand a bit more. I adored all the different stories going on in the movie. It didn't seem too busy or confusing like some movies when they try to keep more than one thing going. Connections between characters in other storylines were subtle enough that it wasn't unrealistic. It’s not too predictable of a movie and I really liked that about it. I don’t rewatch movies often but read more
