  • My Demon

    1. My Demon

    Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes

    8.0

it's very, very solid. a good fantasy romance with a thriller side (which was done also pretty well as for this type of dramas) with song kang as the major eye candy. it's been some time since i've watched romance and it's been what i was looking for - comforting drama with good chemistry, great visuals and even greater ost (since "crash course in romance" i had "our nights are more beautiful then your days" by kona on repeat and to hear it as main ost here covered by nj? i was not expecting that!!!)

generally, it wasn't anything exraordinary. a bunch of standard fantasy tropes, the whole thriler elements also were mid, i prefer more complex stories, not a standard evil villian that was easy to predict since the beginning

  • The World of the Married

    2. The World of the Married

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    8.0

holy... that was a hell of the ride. it's pretty good. but so draining. there wasn't a single important character there i liked. none. zero. i understand we want to convey the idea of nobody is perfect, but after a few amazing episodes it got tiring to watch.

my energy level drops as i'm writing this. i mean it's interesting, well done. but god, what a workout

  • Single’s Inferno Season 3

    3. Single’s Inferno Season 3

    Korean TV Show - 2023, 11 episodes

    8.0

it was pretty good. entertaining, a good sprinkle of drama, cliffhangers. however, comparing to the season 2, it was really disappointing and underwhelming. season 2 was hot, sensual, with good amount of drama, visuals and romance. here? nothing really interesting, most of the plot was based around huge red flag guy, who wasn't even attractive

one thing that might have affected my opinion is that i didn't like the ending couples. at all! how did it happen that out of every couple i shipped, not one were the endgame?! hello?!

also i really, really didn't like the setting of the island. i understand it's called "inferno" but come on, the setting in previous season was so aesthetically pleasing. and here? the "bedrooms" were so basic and cramped, it wasn't a good visual to watch, not to mention the lack of the proper kitchen! the kitchen in previous seasons and the cooking was a huge part of interactions!

overall, i enjoyed it. just.. after mind blowing season 2, i expected something better. let's see what will happen in season 4

  • My Name Is Loh Kiwan

    4. My Name Is Loh Kiwan

    Korean Movie - 2024

    7.5

it was really underwhelming for me. not bad, but really fogettable and i expected something more. it didn't really spark a lot of emotions in me.

a sad story in the beginning, with a boy that is lost in a new country, without money, documents and ability to speak other language, that magically falls in love (?) with a girl having her own sky rojo moment, they are human wrecks, she abusing drugs, him overdosing and now boom, they are all happy, picking vegetables every morning? it really felt like two different movies and not in a good way.

the ending wasn't bad though, very predictable, but done rather well.  the romance though... i really thought it's going to be somewhat similar to vagabond, but their "love" was hard to believe and unnecessary in my opinion. it could've been executed better.

the neverending sjk and jhc duo was amazing though. really, as the lower comment said, they are 2in1 package. and song joong ki has magical beauty, even in comparision to other sk celebs, he looks so young. man is 38 and looks literally 18. the skincare and surgeries are really something else in SK, i think i will have to look into it for the future haha
