From deskmates to soulmates <3

As someone who loves fluffy dramas, this has climbed to my top drama list. Rarely a highschool drama can make you cry, but this drama is an exception. What makes you cry is the nostalgic feeling that this drama gives you. You watch the main leads and their friends grow from being a school student to university student.
The story begins as your typical main leads who bicker a lot with each other. Then soon they have good feelings towards each other. There are some misunderstandings and some small fights but it gets cleared very soon. Its not draggy.
Both the main leads are eye candy. They already behave like a married couple during their school years but they were still not dating. Its like everyone knows their dating except for themselves. This drama really made me question how the hell I spent my school years. This is such a feel good drama.
The chemistry is off the charts. They understand each other well, their family also do not object them, they have friends who are equally supportive. Siyeu is the man of dreams like literally, he is very humble, not cold, was never arrogant or dominant towards the FL. He even cried so many times in front of the FL. This was a refreshing thing that I enjoyed.
The FL is sweet and although she was making the ML her priority most of the times, she eventually realized how to separate her personal and professional life. They both loved each other since the beginning. No second leads, no other 3rd character that can break them or no other things that could separate them.
I really recommend this drama and you'll definitely feel emotional at the end since it is quite nostalgic how you watched them grow from teenagers to adults.

A drama filled with everything that our lives have. :)

How to start writing a review for a drama that has a special place in my heart? I have followed through the first season very passionately and I never missed any episodes for 2nd season too. It didn't felt like there was divergence in story or unnecessary plot build ups. Everything flowed smoothly like a river. The second season begins where the first season ends and you honestly I can't differentiate between the two seasons.

Talking about the casts, although everyone was mature in first season, they became more understanding in the second season. All 5 of them found love of their life, a stable pace for life and happiness. Even the side casts were perfectly portrayed like Jae hak, the interns, Mina, Gyeol, Uju as well as every patient.

The interesting thing about this drama is that every time a new patient is shown, they bring out new stories, new perspective towards life and new teachings as to how different people see different situations. As a medical student, this drama taught me the most important thing that is, to look towards the cases from the patient's perspective and to understand their thoughts and behaviors even if you think that it is irrational.

About the casts, I felt like I was the 6th member of the squad. I saw each one of them grow, experience happiness, sadness and heartbreaks. As they juggle their surgeries and rounds, they also have time for their friends, family and themselves. The 99 squad is really different from every other dramas. They truly know each other so well that they can read through each other. They also have their own personal space that they do not want to share and the others do not try to force them to share too. That is something I found really interesting, because even though they know each other very well, they respect each others personal boundaries too. I would really hope for a 3rd season, but I also understand that the casts would like to focus on their other solo projects too.

If you want to comfort yourself, then just imagine that there is a Song hwa, Ikjun, Jun wan, Andrea and Seok hyung continuing their stories in Yulje and every five of them being happy with their loved ones. Just imagine them being in Yulje and saving their patients and having band practices. People who have been with them from the first season has definitely grown attachment to their characters, so if you ever feel like you miss them, just imagine that they are somewhere in Seoul continuing their stories.

THE RIGHT KIND OF HAPPY DRAMA

As a drama fan, 2021 was filled with a lot of intense and dark dramas. And contrary to that, this drama was like a breath of fresh air.

STORY: The story is simple and sweet. ZDGX is an e-sport team and the leads are in the same team. They compete with other teams to win the national championship. Throughout this journey, they all experience wins, loss, happiness, heartbreak and many other feelings. This drama takes you to the e-sport world where their major goal is to win the main championship and to continue their career as a pro gamer.

ACTING: I found the FL a little stiff but considering that it is her first drama, I don't think that its a big issue. All casts have very great chemistry.

I would recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for a sweet, fluffy and light drama. There are no big misunderstandings between the leads , they never break up and there are no evil characters. They have a very healthy and mature relationship and the best thing is that their relation develops gradually. I've seen few people complaining that it is not fully an e-sports drama but I'd like to clarify that e-sports wasn't the only main focus of this drama. There are also other elements such as romance, friendship and comedy; and I think the drama has given justice to every element. The chemistry between the leads is like eye candy and you'll definitely enjoy it if you are a fan of light hearted, fluffy and sweet drama. So just give this drama a try and enjoy the sweet journey of e-sports, romance and friendship.

If you are interested in e-sports genre, then I'll suggest King's avatar, Love O2O, Go Go Squid and Cross fire.

A cute, fluffy drama with mature leads

If you're into dramas such as put your head on my shoulder, love 020 or any other sweet, fluffy dramas, then you will love this drama. The story is simple that follows the leads from school to college and then to their workplace. What I really liked about this drama is that although there were so many negative setbacks and challenges, they never broke up nor did they misunderstood each other. They always believed each other fully and understood each other without getting influenced by any third party. To be honest, there were so many side characters that tried to break them up or create problems in their life so I was worried that they might break up or misunderstand each other. But with each challenge and difficulties, they believed and loved each other more and more.
Their story progressed from being strangers to classmate and then to lovers and finally as husband and wife. You may see that in most of the dramas the ML is rich and spoils the FL, but in this drama the FL is rich and she supports and takes care of the ML too. The ML doesn't have ego and understands the FL very much. So this story is unique from other dramas because the ML doesn't carry around his masculine ego. Infact he is very soft for the FL and does everything to keep her happy even though he is not very well financially. The FL is very strong and straightforward and too pretty. Her character is very adorable. The side characters are also praiseworthy and they all support the leads throughout their journey. The FL never left the ML even though she knew about his financial conditions.
In this story you can see how the leads go through each challenge and prove themselves as worthy for each other. You will surely love this drama cause the leads have perfect chemistry and a simple yet good storyline.

THE MOST PERFECT AND LIGHT DRAMA <3

If you are looking for a drama that is sweet, fluffy and light, then this drama is for you. It's literally perfect. The leads chemistry is off the charts. Every cast is perfect. There are no frustrating misunderstandings and break ups. There are no evil character, only sweet and good side characters. The love story is really cute and mature type. You'll see how the leads progress through their relationship with each episode. They do not take their relationship fast, instead they naturally take their relationship forward. Talking about male and female lead, no one could have pulled off better than them.
The male lead is a tough, strict and an excellent special policeman whereas the female lead is a kind and passionate doctor. They will also show you the lives of doctor and policeman too. The male lead is not arrogant and he never acted like jerk. He was very in love with the FL. The FL wasn't the typical crybaby. She was smart, cute and a ball of sunshine. The side couples are also very cute. There are no unnecessary story line. It's like watching someone fall in love in real life. I was very attached to their love story. You want to be in a relationship like them while watching this drama because its literally perfect.
After watching strong chemistry in dramas like CLOY, weightlifting fairy kim bok joo, What's wrong with secretary kim and so on, this dramas couples are top tier and you'll enjoy watching this drama. Trust me and watch this drama if you are looking for a sweet, fluffy drama with mature leads and good cast.

I was hesitant to watch this drama because of the title and also it had 52 episodes. I thought a family drama would be boring but as I saw the first episode, I was proven wrong. From the very first episode, it kept me hooked. It was funny and emotional drama. I loved every cast in it and I loved the fact that each character had its own shine and character development throughout the drama. I loved the four siblings and I loved the fact that even if they fought with each other, they stuck with each other through all the hard times.
All the couple in this drama were so sweet. I loved every couple but I think the Nutcracker couple was the most sort out and outspoken couple who could understand each other. Also I loved her mother in law. She was irritating sometimes but she was the most entertaining character in the drama. I also got emotional at some scenes when they had family problems.
So I recommend you to watch this drama. You will not be disappointed for sure. Although it had 52 episodes, you will want for more as start watching this drama. I wish there was a second season with the same cast. ❤❤

An ode to youth and friends

Reply 1988 is like a cup of warm tea on a cold morning, the kind of drink that warms your soul. Nothing can compare to all the emotions that you feel while watching this drama. Let's talk about the drama now (It'll be a little long :D)

CHARACTERS:
The main reason why this drama feels like home is because of the whole cast who does exceptioanlly well in portraying their respective characters. And that includes all the members of Ssangmun dong neighborhood. My favorite character in this series has to be Jung hwan cause he is the type of person who may not be vocal about their love but will show it through their actions and I can relate to that. Tbh, I fell in love with him. The confession scene and all the scene he had with Deok sun made me cry so much cause there was so much love and hurt in his eyes that my heart ache for him. And that is the reason I initially dropped this series in 1st episode. Talking about Deok sun, Hyeri is perfect for the cast. The funny, carefree and loving nature she had in this drama was so heartwarming. Taek is just so pure and innocent. He was well loved and taken care by everyone and he was very steady about his feelings fro Deok sun too. Sun woo is the ideal son who cares so much about his mom and sister. Although he had some hard time accepting Moo-sung, he never hated him or Taek. And lastly, one of my favorite character of this drama which is Dong ryong literally did so good cause he is funny yet emotionally mature given he doesn't receive much attention from his parents. Whenever he popped up in any scene, I just laughed cause his acting and role is so fit for each other. Though most of you might have hated Bora during first episodes, she is not evil or aloof. She is just that way cause she has to be a strong independent woman to make her family live a good life in future. Also she softened alot in later episodes. My next favorite character in this series is Jung Bong. He's hilarious and his dumb yet fascinating hobbies made the series really funny. And kudos to Miran, Il-hwa, Sun-young, Moo-sung, Dong-il, Seong-gyun and Jae myung for being the perfect cast ever.

STORY:
The story of this series is about youth and friendship of 5 people who grew up together in the same neighborhood and the changes they face as they grow up. It was really heartwarming to see how 5 of them were so close to each other. The bond they had was so wholesome. Also, I loved how Miran and Seong gyun never thought of others as inferior although they were well off. They always helped the others and made sure everyone was fed. That is what I loved about this drama. The three ladies of Ssangmun-dong: Miran, Il-hwa and Sun-young sharing so much love and food with each other and never having any evil thoughs towards each other.
Also the love triangle in this story is heartbreaking but you will never ever hate any of them. I dropped this drama in first episode cause JH and DS was not the end game. But as I picked up the drama and continued to watch it, I realized that it was never about them really. Yes, there was plot of romance, but this drama is much more than the love triangle. This drama navigates through friendship, relation between parents and children, moving out of the house, financial issues and romance. Everything that we experience in our youth is what is shown in this drama. And I bet you will cry so much in most of the episodes. I have never cried so much in a drama before. And especially the last scene of last episode is such a tearjerker. And I just relaised that the last scene of last episode and first scene of first episode is same. The way I cried so hard during both is unimaginable. Also when whole neighborhood moves out, I felt so empty inside as if I was the one moving away from them. But this is life, we cannot be around the same people forever. Eventually, some will leave and some will stay.

This drama is a must watch cause this drama has perfect balance of happiness, comedy, sadness, anger, hesitation and love. Nothing will stay same in our life. We will pass our youth age and when we look back, we realize that it's the people that made our youth the way it is. Cheers to our youth where we made new friends, fell in love for the first time, had rebelling thoughts against our family and experienced a heartbreak. Now as we pass our youth, we have left some people in the past but carried their memories with us. But we all remember our youth, the memories we created and the love we had. This drama reminisces about our youth and maybe that is why we feel empty once this drama finishes.

Lastly, thank you to Reply 1988 for giving us such a heartwarming drama where we rememebr our youth, which will never come back but we'll revisit it time and again. Thank you to all the casts who gave justice to this drama and the crew involed in this drama.

Slice of life, heartwarming and hilarious.

As a medical student, this drama is a gem. The entire setting is in the hospital where you encounter life and death situations and how you handle them through your emotional and skillful understanding. If you are a medical student, then you'll learn many new things from this drama. Even if you aren't a medical student, this drama won't disappoint you. So now let's break into the characters and their nature.
Ik-Joon; he is the like the life of party. Funny, humorous with a good nature and a friend that everyone wishes for. He is serious at times when the situation demands and in other time, he is a goofball who can easily put a smile in others face. Song-hwa; the only female in the group, she is strong willed and very detailed doctor. She puts a clear line between her profession and hobbies. She is also like the mom of the group because everyone looks up to her for advices. Jung-won; his nickname is Buddha because he is very calm and composed as a doctor and person. He can understand his patients very well and connect to them. He is a softie that everyone adores. Jun-wan; he is very indiffernt and blunt to others but to his friends and girlfriend, he is the most sweetest and caring person. As a medical student I think that his attitude is very strong as he doesn't get swept up in emotions. Seok-hyung; an introvert and mamas boy. He is a very considerate person. He avoids talking to other people, knows his boundaries but when it comes to patients, he gives the best advice and emotional support.
This drama is a very calm and slice of life drama. You get to see what happens in the hospital and every doctor are trying their best to save their patient. Although this drama majorly focuses on hospital life, you'll also see how they handle their personal life. Every cast does their part very well. Not only the main characters, but also the other casts portray their roles very well. You'll laugh and cry because you'll connect with every cast whether they are a doctor or patient. The main person whom I loved in this drama is Uju. He is very adorable in every scenes. There are no dramatic or cliché scenes, just pure and real life scenes where you go with the flow of life. The most important lesson that you'll get from this drama is that no matter how tough your profession is, stick with your friends and family and enjoy your life as well as your job. Watch this drama, you won't regret.
