I wanted to...

I was prepared to blast this series....a BL with bakers and a kidnapping murder story just don't fit together. Now that I understand where the story came from then I understand the fact that it wasn't really a BL. The book is a punch of stories loosely strung together. I loved Krating and Pooh. The story and their characters and how they were played. I really didn't care for Punn. His character and his story. However, I did shed some tears at the ending speech and did remember some other monologues that he did which really elevated my opinion overall. The detective media family was just confusing but more understanding when i view that as a part of a vignette. Based on it's own merit as a separate entity. Still, GMMTV should know it audience especially after casting Singto. Hated Jean the character. I was happy with guest appearance by Mike (teacher) and Na (Host). Always good to end on a good note.

Some how they made it work

OMG! I was a bit upset with the ending of season 1, then I was a little more upset after the special edition of season 1. I was furious after the 1st episode of season 2. I was just beside myself by episode 3 when I realized that they were going to get back on track and get away with the emotional trauma of the twist and turns in the plot at the end of season 1 and the start of season 2. Was all of that necessary? I think not. So as in season 2 the main story characters were great (episodes 3 to 6) and my need for certain couples to live happily ever after has been fulfilled. TG! However, my ratings are 8+ not because of the main characters but because of Yu Zhen and Pui. They could have been at 10 for sure. What a powerful story. My vote for best actor would be Shih Chih Tian. I think his portrayal of the character Yu ZHen was award winning. I know I'm late to this party but maybe someone will read this a appreciate my comments.

Just great! Awesome BL!

Just great! Awesome BL! There is so much to like about this series. Everyone is like able in there own special way. I love when BL guys are presented as guys who know how to fight and stand up for themselves. I especially like when they fight and win against the bad guys. Lee and Hsu are just so likeable and genuine in their roles. Chungs character is so sweet when he starts to have feelings for LinXun more and more in each scene. Just a wonderful story that he gives in the the love because he doesn't want toe make the same mistake as the parents As I said before the other brothers and their relationship all form in different ways. Bravo! This is the second time I've watched it and decided to up my score. A true BL that is not like a BL but enjoyable in everyway.

It was great but still good

I thought thus series was going to be more edgy. Meaning that the Jin character was going to be more of an eccentric, but he just slowly became normal without much fanfare about it. It did slow down in the middle and there were a few episodes that were like treading water. They could have created more tension. I liked the mom character and she disappeared. The initial idea was great but they should have continued it more consistently and caused more tension. Still worth the watch and it was enjoyable.

It's good please watch this one but...

It's certainly worth the watch and I did get a lot of entertainment value for this series. As with so many BL's, my biggest concern is with the main characters. Not sure if it was the actor or the script but I felt the character Jin was weak in a lot of areas. I really did like Bomb but thought his script could have been better sometimes too. I was always yearning for more of the secondary characters. Keam for sure was very strong and under utilized. He could use his own series or can have a main part in season 2 (hint-hint) Song, Ball, Singh are again, came across on my screen as more interesting that the main characters at times. I actually felt that way about all of the secondary guys at some part, even the str8 characters which was a plus for sure. I did give the series an 8.5 and I don't think that's high. 7.3 is too low for sure. Director Jane please do some more BL's. You are on the right track. The big picture here for me was very good. I did enjoy the series and wanted more episodes.

Very Disappointed

I have respect for Aki, but this was a mistake for him to do. So I'm wondering if this decision had anything to do with the drama after MY Day the series, which was actually pretty good. I've scene series that high schoolers have done and they were way better than this. Did anyone watch this or get a test audiences to view it before final edits? Many seriously bad and awkwardly bad scenes. I hope for Aki's sake they do for the Sequel. The only bright spot in this series is Kevin Salgado. Even with the bad story and scripting he seems to come off as likeable and does a good job with what he was given. I hope he gets his own series and a better series.

Nice series with some great value

Dance an debt what an odd combination but it worked. Same for both actors. An odd combination but it worked. The story also portrayed the differences in culture Asian and the modern/western issues of life well. There are many issues of modern life and also some old time Asian issues in the relationship. I guess it's compliment when the reviewer wants short series to be longer. Bravo to all. The actors the writers producers. Why was it cold inside? Is that something that is supposed to be normal. ? I was not sure.

I liked it.

Ok it's a low budget but come on. .. anyone here should only be concerned with what is the director producer trying to portray. I thought it was genuine and engaging....Maybe I should give it a 10 to be inspiring for Chinese BL but it was for sure a 8, Genuine honest fun carefree and real all within a 15 minute episode of 10. Both actors were awesome with their parts and scripting was very appropriate with the above instilled. Han Jing deserves a special mention for he really rose to the occasion with his character and his genuine and light hearted emotion was all over the screen. Bravo! I would hope to see these both in a future BL. There is something about the Chinese BL that I find very endearing. Maybe it's cultural and different as with other BL's. Very worth watching and I will watch it again when I need to see genuine emotion.

Just awesome

Very enriching experience. The line references and how it played thru the series is just awesome. Both actors are awesome and played their parts true to life. The chemistry between them is off the charts and genuine Nice endings are nice. Very rewarding experience, my soul is enriched. Even though the ending was telegraphed it was timed just perfect for me. I can't wait to see the movie cut. Thank-you to all involved in creating this series. I will watch this again and it will remain a BL classics for sure.

Very good-high re-watch value

Zheng Dian is the star of this series. Xiaojun is hot he'll be hotter when he gets older...lol...but in this series if he can act I didn't see it. If I was younger I'd be a Zheng fan for sure. My second point is that this isn't really a BL. I know things are different in China, but this is at the most a BPL (Boy Puppy Love) story. I found this series very engaging and entertaining. Again Zheng having the most funny lines and the best charming personality. Story and supporting actors are really good and likeable.

It's not perfect but it does have a lot of value...

It's not perfect but has a lot of watch and rewatch value. It's not a typical BL but it does have a long term romance story and another two that doesn't really develope but does happen in the last episode. There are many life messages that are beautifully done in this series. The young boys and how they accepted Name and treated him as he wanted to be treated. I never had any relationship with my grand parents and it was wonderful to see. Yes there are issues with Champs story but it does work out for him. Granted you have to really want to try and make it ok but it is there. I do wish they would have developed him and let us get to know what was really going on with Champ more. I beleive he was very lonely and was in denial of it. I thought for sure when he was crying over the pickled fish he would say that he was lonely. It would have been very powerful if he did. Anyway, the break up of Gun and Golf was not genuine and not done well. Name and Em never had thier time in the sun either. That was also a scripting issue. Regrdless, I felt that the messaging was very strong and something that is very much needed in the world in 2022-23. There is too much hate, anger in the world and not enough compassion understanding, tolerance and unconditional love displayed in the media. We are what we watch and humans by nature imitate what we see. I wish it was better. It could have been an awesome series but wound up being a very good series. The rating is is way too low. Eeven wiht the teriible wigs... LOL

So really really really really liked this series, but it was really really really really too short. I wanted so much more. I really fell in love with Seon Ho the character. So genuine and so cute. Right? I really didn't care if Mu wound up with him or not. I was so in love with him I just wanted to see him on the screen every second. Anyway, yeah, I didn't care too much for Mu the character, but I did like the story of him falling in love with Seon from a far so many years ago. The entire Soon thing was way too forced and that could have been developed out fully and actually caused a lot of great tension. See above too short comments. The last few episodes did seem a bit anti-climactic and not enough warmth or joy from either character. I do hope to see Soun Seung Hyun in another series very soon. What a sweetheart! 7.5 is way too low for this series. It's a solid 8.5 if not more.

It's not a 10 but...

Well for sure it isn't a 10 rated BL series, but it's not a 3. Truth being that for me, as long as Joong smiles a few times an episode I'm satisfied! Also if he raises his eyebrows' and goes shirtless once an episode that really can forgive a lot of script weakness.
Yes the "Hidden Agenda" was not hidden for very long nor was it hidden very well at all. Therefore, this is for sure a "B" BL series...similar to B Movie. All the other stuff was acceptable, music was kind of generic for me. (yeah minus Joong singing.) Story was generic. School stuff Generic. Family was uneventful.
Joong was a good cast for Joke but I can't say the same for Dunk as Zo. I'll leave it at that. NIta and the Grandmother were good female characters.
My only other cast issues is what happened to Pat? Pok and Jeng are fine but Louis as Pat is the next most interesting actor in the entire series. It's like he fell off of the screen. (Did I forget something)
The Finale could have had a more secondary character involvement and I didn't really get Zo or the the fathers moment of realization: "oh I'm being a wanker and I should stop!" Not done well at all!

Yes it's watchable and yes it had some good entertaining spots, but yes it's time for Joong and DunK to grow up. No more school series for them please!

Why do short series...

Why do short series leave you begging for more and then I also suffer through 45 to 50 minutes each week for 12 weeks just to have less of an experience with longer series. That is also my biggest complaint. There are a lot of great aspects to this series. It could have been a longer series without ruining it's charm in my opinion.
First they had a stalker and violence and it was addressed and presented appropriately without making it the focus of the series or over taking the main story line. The story line of the class project was great.
Congrats to Kim Tae Hwan for his portrayal of Lo-A . I felt his love and his aguish of feelings for Ji Woo. Second goes to Yoo Hyuk Jae for his portrayal of Nam Jun. His feeling and anguish was very well played. I did like Hyun Jun and his portrayal of Ji Woo. I think his character could have used more time to show his transition to having feelings for Lo-A. Really a scripting thing. Thank-you for having 2 female characters that we very enjoyable and likeable.
Over-all this is a very strong series. I was engaged and left wanting more. This series is much better than the rating here.

Great subject for a BL

Great subject for a BL. It does boarder on being abusive at times but i found it more challenging than abusive.

For sure Hira ended up with the wrong person. I am so impressed that so many Asian BL's and other drams have a love interest stand aside such that the one they love are happy with who they supposedly really want. Very honorable and it changes me a little every time I see it happen.

Now it's time for me to back up. So Kiyoi does demand that Hira loves him as a person and not a god. That was great. I really didn't see that coming. Then the last scene they are joking about it??? I think they should have buried it and left it for a more powerful ending.

Best scene was the reconciliation of all the scenes as a flash back. Bravo.

My Complaints are are good ones. The story and other characters could have been developed more and the ending could have shown more of how Hira adapted and became a real partner for Kiyoi.

Congrats to all for making this series!
