After watching this movie I was left with one thought and that was "What the f*ck have I just watched?". I started this because Viki put this in the GL genre but let me tell you that there is NO girls' love in there. But first things first – this is a five stories omnibus series about a woman who runs a motel and has a podcast where she shares some of the guests' stories there. But she shared just one of the stories there, I think? And the others she was just telling her coworker or a friend? It was messy. The only connection to all the stories was that all of them were sex related.
The first one was about a young couple that went to the motel to have sex for the first time together. It had some comedic moments and was cute and funny overall.
The second featured a man, who was on a business trip there and stayed in the motel overnight and he decided to get an erotic massage for himself but his girlfriend suddenly arrived there as well. That was weird but not that bad.
The third was the first, the "GL" one about two friends who both had troubles with their ex-boyfriends so they just went to the motel and brought the cheapest-looking sex toys with them and then kissed each other. Time skip to week later and one of them told the other that she is now in a happy relationship because her boyfriend has a big d*ck. Like what the actual f*ck! ?
I can't remember much about the fourth one, it was a bunch of friends getting drunk and a guy having a crush on a girl. They ended together at the end I think but it was nothing memorable as you can see. ?
The fifth one was about two people in their thirties, who both never had sex before and met on a blind date and then went to the motel to experience it for the first time. But the motel owner and her male coworker got trapped there and accidentally watched them. Then they went to have sex together too I think after the previous couple left.
Now that I write about it, it seems like such a dirty movie lmao although I think that the rating was 15+. But the story (or a lack of an actual story) was crap. So boring and just weird overall. I don't think that all movies must have some deep message but this didn't have ANY message at all. Seriously I don't understand what was the point of the movie.
My final rating is 5/10, just because some of the stories weren't as bad as other ones.

The story was also nice - it wasn't just a romance but also mystery and thriller stuff thrown into it so it was really interesting to watch. The end was such a cliffhanger but there should be a 2nd season so I'm eagerly awaiting it. ?
10/10 rating for me. I'm just a sucker for a good GL and this one definitely was despite the censorship.

First of all, I love how this movie just revolves around women. All the major characters are women and so are the director, screenwriter, and the author of the original novel. The movie is truly a feminist icon. :D
The three sisters are amazing characters. Each of them is different yet they bear many similarities as well. The biggest pro is that all of them feel so real. They go through their own hardships and you found yourself rooting for them in no time.
The aesthetics and food of the Fagara movie are just a cherry on the top. Seriously go watch it. You won't be disappointed.

Arthdal Chronicles Part 1: The Children of Prophecy

Unique mix of fantasy and politics
What I really liked about Arthdal Chronicles is the world that the drama is set in. It feels like something out of fantasy book, yet so real at times. The bronze age setting in unique and not something I've ever seen before. What I really appreaciated were the explanations of the terms in Saram language and how sometimes even the characters had a short subtitle with their name appear on screen when they were present. Thanks to this, it was quite easy to learn their names and not to get lost. The visuals of this drama are absolutely breathtaking! From the outdoor shots to the costumes and decorations, everything is amazing and detailed.
The politics reminded me a bit of Game of Thrones, every single character played it so well, tricking others and getting closer to their goal, there were also some plot twists on the political scene as well. I enjoyed this aspect of the drama very much, I wasn't aware beforehand that it would focus on political schemes but I'm so glad that it did.
Part 1 of Arthdal Chronicles certainly didn't disappoint me, so I give it a well deserved 9/10 rating! Starting part 2 as soon as possible!

Mature and realistic depiction of a sapphic love story
It was nice to see a feature-length wlw movie again (and one that is directed by a woman!) which depicted the two women's relationship realistically. That was what I liked about the movie the best: how it felt so real.I also loved the cinematography of it, the long shots and the views of Seoul as the characters were standing on high places, the lack of background music for some scenes, the way that the scenes themselves were rather shorter and changing often. It created an artistic vibe that was nice to look at.
I liked how the movie was for sure about the two women's relationship but it also focused on their lives out of it. We got to see Yoon-joo preparing for the art exhibition and Ji-soo's not-so-close relationship with her father. Both of them were also interacting with each of their respective friends.
Overall I rate this movie 8.5/10.

An ad that's better than some dramas
Seriously, although this was an ad for a period underwear, it had a strong story, amazing chemistry between the two actresses, and if I didn't know what it was an ad, I would have thought that it was an actual drama with a product placement taking place.Oh, how I wish the drama "Legend of the Green Plum" which the two female leads were filming was real! It looked so great, I would have definitely watched that too in an instant.
But how did this get past the censorship? It's a literal miracle! Especially with the scene involving a rather intimate scene from a very well-known sapphic movie!
Last but not least I want to say that I really like how periods are getting normalized and how in more wlw media nowadays, the FLs are shown taking care of each other when one of them menstruates. I love to see that.
Overall, a 9/10 rating, very cute and sweet and worth rewatching for sure!

Confusing what it was actually trying to say
I'm still a bit confused what the main theme of the movie was supposed to be. We have a sapphic relationship here, along with disapproving mother, infidelity, dubious consent (not between the main couple), and a very questionable decision at the end.Of course, it's mostly about the relationship between Por and Jane, who want to tell Por's mother about their relationship, but she isn't happy that her daughter is with another woman. The reason why isn't explained much, whether it's because she is afraid of what the world will think of them or whether she wants grandchildren, which is hinted towards the end of the movie, when she tells Jane (who got pregnant after having a drunken one-night stand with a guy) to not get an abortion. The mother compares Jane's situation to her own when she was pregnant with Por, but I feel like that was an entirely different thing because she was dating Por's father at that time and it was her own decision to keep and raise the baby on her own, while Jane had a drunken one-night stand and even offered Por that she would get the abortion only if they got together again. I feel like the mother had the most say in what happens when it obviously should have been Jane's decision and she should have discussed it more with Por but at the end Jane should be the one to have the most say in this.
I would appreciate more sweet moments between Por and Jane before everything went downhill and also if the story focused more on their relationship rather than the abortion part.
The fact that this was a student film and also based on a true story is what made me give this movie a higher rating than I initially wanted which is 7/10 stars.

Great introduction to the series
The prologue did a great job with introducing all the four couples and blending their stories together without confusing the viewer. The change between the focus of each couple felt natural and I wonder how they will interact with each other in the actual series.Pipim & Peeraya: Probably my favourite couple of these (I'm not saying it's because of the car scene but I'm also not saying that it's not ;)), they seem more mature than the others. The fake relationship dynamic is also interesting and although it's not my favourite trope, I'm looking forward to see how their story will unfold.
Papie & Jao: Their dynamic is also interesting since they are ex-lovers. which is a trope I don't see often. I also love Papie's character.
Tawan & Winnie: And they were roommates! Loving this, especially the coffee talk. Not sure how I feel about Winnie having a fiance though. It will certainly add more drama, that's for sure.
Jaojay & Sitang: I'm glad that they changed Jaojay's age to 22 year-old instead of 19. The office romance and the age gap reminds me a bit of GAP but I'm sure that there will be something to make it different and unique.
Overall a 8.5/10 rating from me and I can't wait for the actual series!

One can easily understand why this drama is such a hit among fans. It has only six episodes, which are fast-paced but still give enough space to all the characters so we get to gradually know more about them. Each of the students is different, with different goals, dreams, and attitude, but when they come face to face with the alien menace, they are able to put theses differences aside and try to work like a proper team. This drama is a thriller with some almost horror moments mixed in, one I would never watch when it gets dark and I'm alone, but it was able to surprise me with some gold comedy moments as well, like when some of the students try to desert the school but were caught and were running around while the soldiers were chasing them and a lively music was playing in the background. And there were also moments that were both comedic and heart-warming like when the soldiers prepared the food for them and then the food battle began. Korea really knows how to mix genres well even if just for a few scenes!
The CGI of the aliens (especially the small star-like ones) was absolutely marvelous! I'm looking forward to part 2 of the drama especially if we will get to see the other bigger aliens as well and I can't wait to know what is their origin. And hopefully all the students and Won Bin manage to make it out alive!

Spoiler-free review since there are no others and more people should watch this
What I liked:1) The action scenes! They were phenomenal and amazing to watch. Kudos to the choreographer or the person who was coming up with the moves since the fighting scenes felt fresh and not over the top.
2) The comedy! I wasn't expecting this movie to make me laugh but it did. There were awesome situational jokes and also a few running gags and I loved all of them. "The emperor wants me to go buy him onions!" was one of my favourites (it doesn't make any sense but watch it and it will :D).
3) The detective trio! They were all strong and it was nice to see a sword-fighting woman in this. Also the case actually made a lot of sense as there were clues scattered throughut the movie.
4) The OST! Honestly, I wasn't paying much attention to the music but during the credits, there is a great catchy song that is supposed to be sung by the characters of the movie and is so much in their characters, I loved it.
What I disliked:
1) The CGI was... weird at the best, but it was only there for around ten seconds so all good (and on the other hand, the make-up effects were great!)
(Next paragraph is slightly spoiler-ish but nothing major about the plot, most of this happens within the first ten minutes of the movie.)
2) There was a female sect of really cool ladies at the beginning but they all died within the first five minutes. :/ Also the FL was a strong woman, who could protect herself, but her biggest motivation troughout the movie was to marry the ML so... I wish we could see more sides of her. And this is a nitpick but I think she was dubbed as she had this over the top pitchy and whiny voice.
***
This movie earned 8.5/10 rating from me and I hope for a sequel!
Fun fact: This movie first caught my attention due to its long title, not this offical one but one of the names of this movie is "The Brocade Mouse Royal Cat Nine Deep Blood Wolf". Yes, there are no commas. No, I have no idea where the the word "nine" comes from since the word "wolf" is singular and it makes no sense either if if belongs to the "Royal Cat".

It was definitely worth the wait! There weren't that many new characters (honestly I can think only of one new) but I enjoyed seeing the ones from season 1 reutrning on screen. Some of the games seemed meh to me but others were really well-thought and I very much enjoyed the psychological aspects of some of these games. I especially loved how Chishyia was always thinking about that aspect, his character is one of my favourites. Ann and Kuina's friendship was amazing to watch. <3 Usagi was badass as always, I can't understand the people who say that her character is boring. It was nice to see how her and Arisu's relationship developed.
9/10 rating from me. The ending was phenomenal.

I loved this movie! I have to say I didn't know much about BDSM before I started watching it, just the regular things that are pretty much well known among the public. And this movie was a great introduction to that topic! I would like to praise the actors for doing a really great job and the filming crew for portraying BDSM in a positive light since it's really nothing to be ashamed off as long as all the parties involved consented to it. It was very interesting to see their master and "slave" relationship develop, especially the contract. It also surprised me that at first it didn't have to do much with sexual stuff, it was purely about the dominance and submission.
And wow, we got the reversed roles with the woman being the dominant one and the man the submissive one! That was a really fresh approach and probably one of the main reasons why I liked the movie a lot. And I liked how their relationship developed between the two of them.

I heard a lot about this drama before so I was expecting the comedy. And it didn't disappoint, the comedy was gold and especially the situation jokes on point, they had me laughing almost every five minutes. But what I wasn't expecting was that it wasn't only a comedy drama, it had many other hidden aspects. First, the friendship aspect. I want to have friends like them, especially the three guys were amazing, making fun of each other but having each other's back in difficult situations. The romantic couples I didn't like as much to be honest, there were some toxic traits but also cute moments but I simply preferred the friendships in this drama.
Second, I really like how the drama painted a single mom in a positive light. There were other deep social topics discussed like not having enough money, trying to live up to your parents' expectations and such.
Last but not least, I want to highlight the actors' work because they really did an amazing job in the drama and the 20 episodes didn't feel like too many.
My final rating for Welcome to Waikiki is 9.5/10.

Am I the Only One with Butterflies? Season 2

Second season didn't exactly pick up when the first one ended but I didn't mind it that
much as it was still explained well. There
were once again many heart-fluttering and
sweet scenes between the two female leads
although nothing was shown explicitly but
there was a really romantic hand holding
scene, one of my favourites. ? And at the
end they finally went on a date together. I
think the drama ended well but one part of
me still wishes for a third season although it
probably won't happen since it has been
three years already since the second one.
My rating for the second season is again 9/10.

I chose this drama because of the comedy genre but to be honest it disappointed me a
bit on that front. The comedy scenes were
good but they kind of died off after the first
few episodes. The drama also had a mystery
in it (which I liked) but after the first half, it
was almost pure romance genre mixed with
only a few comedy scenes.
I loved both the main leads! Woo Yeo was so
cute when he got all flustered and his shy
smiles and blushing were adorable! I liked
Dam's personality, especially how she wasn't
afraid to say what she thinks, and how she
didn't care of rumors or what other people
think of her. Jae Jin and Hye Sun were to die
for, I loved them both as separate characters
and a couple they were so swoon-worthy! ?
The only thing bugging me was the ending.
The whole last episode was rushed a lot,
Woo Yeo disappearing, Hye Sun having her
blue bead (that felt like a deus ex machina
given the fact that we have never seen nor
heard about it before), Jae Jin getting the
army letter... What I hated the most was
making two new couples in the last fifteen
minutes – Soo Kyeong & Seok, and Dan &
Seo Woo (Seon Woo's sister), that felt so
much rushed! Yes, they had some chemistry
together and some scenes in the episodes
beforehand but still! It could at least have
been established in the previous episodes
instead of the last one with no room to grow
properly and leaving almost zero impact.
My final rating for this k-drama is 8/10.
