A beautiful, wholesome coming-of-age drama

I haven't finished watching this drama yet but I had to stop and just begin my review. This has been one of the most wholesome and sweet Cdramas I have ever watched. I loved the pure innocence of our 5 main leads and although I love the main couple so much, I love that it focuses on all 5 of them, with their own little story ARCs and their friendship. I'm excited to see them go onto the next stage of their lives, and honestly I'm getting sad that I'm approaching the end of this drama. It has been a wonderful watch and I've been smiling ear to ear for the most part of it. It also has only been 2 days and yet I'm about to finish it just because I didn't ever want to stop watching. I wish they had more episodes instead of just the short, 30 minute, 24 episodes that we get. I'm going to miss this little group of friends dearly and I think I'll find myself rewatching this drama quite a few times after I'm done.

EDIT:
I finally finished the remaining episodes!!! OMG!! I'm squealing and I'm over the moon, this was such a beautiful, cute, and sweet little story. I loved seeing our wonderful ML slowly but surely open up episode after episode as our little sun persistently melted all that ice. I really enjoyed seeing their full journey, really my only complaint is that we didn't have more episodes of them in their college/adult life. I also adored our second couple, and I think it was just a shame that they got together so late in the drama. And of course, we can't forget about Guan Fang, our adorable, loveable 5th wheel. His care and dedication to his grandma was so nice to see. This was such a wholesome and heartwarming drama, I just finished it, yet I just want to be able to go back and watch it again for the first time.
Also fun fact: Falling Into Your Smile was probably my top Cdrama before this and I've rewatched that so many times already but it looks like When I Fly Towards You might take that top spot. It was a joy to watch the outgoing, dedicated Ai Jia turn into a shy, cold, introverted ML. Anyways, I think that's enough to be said about this drama. If you're on the fence, please watch it, I don't think you'll regret it! Bye for now!(:

I think these reviews are kind of unfair...

With just a quick glance at the reviews, I feel like this drama is getting unfairly trashed because people were unhappy about the ending. But honestly, I loved this drama and thought it was different from your typical Korean drama. It was so entertaining and funny. I thought Seo In Ho was perfectly cast. I absolutely hated him and he was so detestable but I also felt bad for him as well. And he perfectly played the dramatic comedic part well too. It was also obviously great to see Dr. Cha's journey through two near death experiences and just finally being able to live the life that she wants, doing the thing she loves the most, being a doctor.

THOUGHTS ON THE ENDING (SPOILERS AHEAD):
Unpopular opinion but I actually didn't really have a problem with the ending. Maybe because I saw the spoiler on Tiktok beforehand so I was prepared, but I didn't mind that Dr. Cha didn't end up with Roy in the end. It wouldn't make sense and I honestly think it would've been MORE insulting for Dr. Cha to end up with Roy. It wouldn't make sense that our FL went through this entire journey just to be thrown into another relationship in the end. At the beginning, we knew Cha Jeong Suk was so self-sacrificing and only lived to help her family. So, it makes sense that after she finally got divorced, she would spend her time on her own, doing what she loves and not having to live for anyone else but herself. And yeah I guess they did "tease" the relationship, but in my eyes, we only saw Roy's feelings for Dr. Cha but not so much the other way around.

Another possible unpopular opinion, but I actually felt bad for Seo In ho in the end, the scene where he finally became hospital director but had none of his family there to support him really hit for me. He could've had the best and most supportive family if he had just stayed faithful and wasn't such an asshole. But alas, he did do all those things. It was nice to see that he accepted the consequences of his actions and continued to just have an amicable relationship with Dr. Cha as just Jung-Min and I-rang's parents.

But yeah, that's just my humble opinion of this drama. And now it's time for me to sleep because as always, I stay up too long to finish the drama (haha). Bye for now!

And our little family is finally together!(:

What a cute and fluffy ride! When I want to watch something lighthearted, sweet, and easy, I always pick cdramas because they know how to do light and fluffy best. I don't think this is a masterpiece of a drama at all, but it's definitely cute and satisfies my sweet tooth so nicely! Quanquan is the cutest little boy and I love the main couple's chemistry sooo much. I love seeing our little family get pieced back to together, episode after episode. In the later half of the drama though, I was definitely missing scenes of little Quanquan. The family got put on a backburner as we finally started to resolve all the issues and get rid of the troublesome people who have been annoying since the beginning of the drama. I do have to say that, even though the resolution of these annoying pests was satisfying, I wish we got more from it. I just feel like we spent so many episodes tolerating them, with small wins here and there, only for them to be quickly dealt with in the end. I also have to say that I really didn't care for the other two couples. I just didn't care for their SOs and the relationship seemed random and a bit shallow. I wish they took the time to develop their relationships more or just not have it at all. On the other hand, the friendship between the FL and Cao Mu was so freaking great and I loved the little bromance blossoming between the ML and Zhou Ruji.

Overall, even though this drama has its flaws, it was still pretty freaking cute and sweet so I'll give it a pass. Thanks for reading this review if you got this far, bye for now!

Oh man...

I had such high hopes for this drama. It had an interesting and unique premise. I also don't typically watch these kinds of dramas so it was different for me. I wanted to see what people meant when they said it was underrated, and it was interesting, and it really had me engaged, episode after episode. It's short length also appealed to me. But I think it's going to be a let down. I was so excited to see justice be so sweetly served but it was disappointed, to say the least, that a man had to swoop in and deal the finishing blow. I haven't finished the rest of the episodes so maybe it'll get better and reveal things to change my mind since I still have 2 episodes. But it's not looking so good right now...

EDIT:
UMMM. WHAT. Yeah no. After that ending, I'm dropping the ratings of this drama.
It was just two episodes left so I didn't think it could get much worse. But dang, I was wrong. There were barely any love or chemistry between the two main leads and yet they ended up getting married? And all of a sudden, the mother of the main lead has no issue with it? I had so many other issues by the end of it but it's late and I don't want to waste more time with this drama. Damn this was definitely a let down.

I don't get it...

I really don't get it. I started this drama because people recommended it after I watched Falling Into Your Smile. Plus, all the raving reviews made my decision pretty easy to watch it. But honestly, I'm not sure what is so special about this drama that everyone loved it. I feel like there are way too many episodes for what it is. The drama could've been shortened and just had a faster pace. I also really don't like the Guo Guo, she is incompetent and ditzy time and time again. I really don't get why they even included her here, I much prefer Tang Rou and Mu Cheng. I love Yang Yang but I don't think he can carry this entire drama. At this point, I'm just trying to speed through this drama and be done with it.

Update: Just coming back here after finishing this drama, all in all, I'm not impressed. It's a nice inspirational story of persistence, tenacity, and friendship. I enjoyed the graphics of the game and I loved Yang Yang's character. But still, I don't think he was able to carry the entire drama like how I mentioned before. I'm glad I'm finally done so I can finally start a different one.

A Journey Through Youth

I really enjoy these youth dramas, especially when they show the progression of their youth from high school to university to adult life. This probably isn't my most favorite youth drama but it was still a very cute and sweet drama. The drama perfectly captured the innocence of high school, where their most stressful problems ranged from their exams, friendships, and family issues. Then we moved onto university and we can see that things become more serious and problems are harder to resolve. I would've loved to see more of their life after university, but unfortunately, the drama ended too soon.
Initially, I really enjoyed watching high school days and when they got to university. I started to get really frustrated with all the problems that arose. I was especially frustrated with Ding Xian. I wanted her to choose her own path instead of continually following Zhou Si Yue. However, later I realized, this is consistent with her character. All she has done was follow Si Yue and didn't know how to do anything else. So when she finally decided to chase after her passion, I enjoyed watching her character develop into an independent woman capable of making her own choices. Zhou Si Yue was definitely my favorite, Chen Zhe Yuan did an amazing job portraying Si Yue and my heart hurt for him when he was in university, nearly on the verge of tears when it came to Ding Xian.
Su Bo Cong was also a little treat to see too whenever he came on screen. I absolutely loved seeing Zhou Si Yue and Su Bo Cong fighting over Ding Xian. The scene where they both got the exact drink for Ding Xian was hilarious! However, I did think the writers did him dirty. I feel like he merely served his purpose as a stepping stone for our main couple. a person to make Si Yue jealous. But all in all, I'm glad Bo Cong and Ding Xian were able to patch things up in the end and that the two men were able to come to an understanding. I liked that the show gave Bo Cong a dignified ending.
As for the side couples, I always love when they tie things up nicely but it would've nice to see more of Jiang Chen and Keke's relationship develop.
All in all, I pleasantly enjoyed this drama, and I might come back to re-watch this drama if I'm in the mood for a short and sweet youth drama.

Cute and fluffy, with a side of Gumiho

I am pleasantly surprised at how thoroughly I enjoy this drama. This was a perfect cute, fluffy, and light-hearted drama. I was literally smiling and giddy for almost the entire drama. I even LOLed at some scenes. I previously watched Touch Your Heart which was kind of a struggle to get through and surprisingly, a few of the side characters of Touch Your Heart showed up in My Roommate is Gumiho. But unlike Touch Your Heart, MRIG does the light-hearted, fluffy drama theme so much better.
I loved the relationship between the two main leads but I especially liked the female lead. I absolutely adored Hae-sun in this drama though. Initially. I thought she was going to turn into a villain later on because secretly she was in love with Sir the entire time. But I'm so glad that wasn't the case. I loved her love-hate friendship that she had with Sir. They both aren't good at being honest and nice to each other so they expressed their love for each other through their banter. I also loved that she was completely willing to protect and support Lee Dan every time she needed it. I'm glad she was paired with Jae-jin, I didn't expect it but they're a sweet couple to watch. I would've loved to see the Mountain Spirit in the last episode while they were tying things up but it's okay. I still loved the wrapping up of the final episode.
I really did feel bad for Seon-woo though. Even though he was a mega-jerk at the start of the drama, I still found myself liking him and if Sir wasn't in the picture, I really wouldn't have minded if Seon-woo and Lee-Dan got together. Of course, that would turn this drama into an entirely different drama.
Anyways, I'm really glad I decided to give this drama a try instead of skipping it. Maybe one day, I'll come back and re-watch it just for the laughs.

The chemistry is off the charts but the story left much to desire

Honestly, I was really enjoying the first half of this drama. I loved the flirting stage and the chemistry of the two main leads was really off the charts. However, the back and forth regarding getting together was annoying and I feel like it dragged there. There were all these misunderstandings, and if they just communicated, it would've been solved. Then once it got into the second half of the drama, I found that I was slowly losing interest in the drama as a whole. I would've liked to see more of a honeymoon stage between the couple, but maybe because the whole getting together portion took too long, it just gave them trial after trial. I get that they're supposed to have all these problems, but it was starting to get old. And again, communication is just non-existent and the main leads kept holding back their troubles from one another. So even though I loved the hot and steamy kisses and the fire chemistry between the two, there is only so far that the chemistry can take you. I started 2x-ing the last 5 episodes of the drama just to finally be done with it. It was quite disappointing because I feel like they had such a good foundation to create a drama that had both an amazing, hot couple and a substantiated story. But instead, we got a useless secondary couple that dragged on way too long that I really didn't care for in the end and a seemingly-strong female main lead who ended up always needing to be saved by her knight in shining armor. I really thought that our princess would've been a lot more bad ass, but she was a let-down. The whole Ashers reveal was also anti-climatic and again, they waited way too long to reconnect those dots from the first episode. On top of that, whatever happened to her flashbacks to that accident that, I'm assuming, her dad was in. She had a pretty emotional reaction to those flashbacks but they never addressed it for the rest of the drama.
Overall, if you want really strong chemistry between the leads, and you really won't look too deep into the story, this is a drama for you. Otherwise, I would say pass on this one. I was quite disappointed honestly. I was so excited to watch it only for it to be a bit disconnected and just a let-down. If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and bye for now!

Definitely unique

I just finished Vincenzo and going in, I definitely didn't know what I was getting myself into. This drama, for one, is a dark comedy and I didn't even realize that until I started watching. It's a mixture of seriousness with over the top comedy to balance it out. I really liked the cinematography and of course, the visuals of Song Joong Ki and Ok Taec Yeon. Initially, I didn't like Hong Cha Young but she grew on me, she was a fierce independent woman with so much sass and attitude, I loved it! The only about this drama is that it ran long and it had so much to set up so it actually took me a while to get through these episodes. Even though it was entertaining, it didn't hold my attention so much that I would have to binge every episode. I found myself pausing a lot and just doing other stuff. Overall, it's a good, entertaining watch and Song Joong Ki was absolutely gorgeous in it but definitely not one of my top favorite dramas.

Expected more but overall it was alright

The hype that came with this drama before it even aired probably didn't do this drama any favors. I was literally so excited to watch but then it ended up just being alright and just a bit disappointing, especially towards the end where I was just over it and didn't really care much for it anymore. The only thing that really saved this drama was the chemistry and visual factors of our two leads, Kim You Jung and Song Kang. Honestly too, I finished this drama about a week ago and I forgot to write my review and now, I don't even have much to say. It just wasn't very excited or memorable really. Just a drama to pass the time and to be mildly to moderately entertained I guess.

Finally picked this up after so many years, but was left a bit disappointed

I finally finished this drama and seeing all the high praise and reviews that this drama has leaves me a bit disappointed. The drama just didn't land the same for me I guess. This was such a slow burn drama for me and I feel like once we finally got to where we wanted to get, there wasn't much reward in the end as far as our main couple. I know Yan Mo's love is a much more subtle and quiet, but steadfast, love but I would've loved to see him open up more after they got into a relationship but it didn't seem like it. He was still so focused on work and I just feel like Qiao Yi was just spending her time waiting on him the entire time which really sucks because she literally quit her "dream" job and left her family for him. Honestly, I got really tired of seeing his no expression face that would have a smile here and there. I thought Qiao Yi would've broken down his walls more and helped him open up and having more expressions, but it really didn't get to that point until after they got married. I felt like it took such a long journey for them finally be together, and yet even after they got together, we only had small little moments of their love, leaving me yearning for more. Of course, when Yan Mo would have his little moments showing his love for Qiao Yi, I loved it but I just wish there was MOREE. Switching gears, on the other hand, I absolutely loved loved loved the brotherly-sisterly bond between Qiao Yi and Guan Chao. They were so sweet and cute and Guan Chao would do anything for his little sister. I loved their close friendship. I honestly liked Guan Chao the most throughout the series, yes he was immature, but he was willing to do anything for the people that he loved. I also loved just the entire family dynamic. The stepdad loved the twins so much as if they were his own and supported them so much. I loved that he was the one who picked up on the little hints and things.
All in all, I enjoyed this drama for the most part. I just found the main couple to be lacking but enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd couple enough. I loved how the relationships were portrayed in this drama and how realistic and meaningful some of the lessons they had in life were. I probably wouldn't watch it again though, it was too long for a drama with too little reward.

It's not perfect but it's worth it!!

As the heading says, this isn't a perfect drama by any means. There are a decent number of things to dislike about this drama but honestly, they make up for it through its wholesomeness and heartwarming moments. I'm very happy with how episode 16 turned out and the warm and fuzzy feelings are at an all time high right now. This was such a fun, wonderful, and heartwarming drama to watch. I was quite skeptical at the beginning, but I kept seeing such good things about this drama and wondered what this cheesy-looking drama can bring to the table. Lately, dramas that have been hyped up haven't been that good, in my opinion, so I really didn't expect much with this one. But I'm so glad I decided to watch it.
If you're on the fence, and you're reading this, then this is your sign to just watch it!! Give it a shot, I was hooked on the first episode and I hope that happens for you too.
Maybe I'll come back to edit this with a more thorough review, but for now, its time to head to bed because I stayed up way too late to finish it. Bye for now!

A super quick, fun ride!

Starting out, I didn't know what to expect from this drama. I saw some clips randomly here and there on TikTok and knew it was getting a bit popular and it looked a bit fun but that was about it. But wow this was really a short, quick, entertaining ride. I really was enjoying the drama and loving every second of it...until we got to the last episode. I just hated that it randomly switched to squeeze in one last breakup trope. I also hated how they decided to resolve it...how is it that the two main leads couldn't find a solution and the FL's ex just jumped in and saved the day? Although it was sweet and I loved that he did that, I just felt that entire episode lacking and our strong FL was suddenly a helpless damsel in distress. Didn't really feel true to the FL's character and just left a sour taste in my mouth.
Other than that, this was such a cute and entertaining ride that was reminiscent of the old rom-com days. I, of course, also loved seeing a strong female lead.

A short little fluffy ride

I think I need to stop starting these dramas with such high expectations. This is a perfect drama for just a turn your brain off, enjoy the cute little ride type of drama. But my problem was, is that I came in with high expectations and so I was kind of left disappointed. Honestly, I feel like a lot of this drama was non-sensical, especially the beginning, literally everything was done so quickly with very little sense just to set up the plot and everyone just chose to go along with it LOL. I also disliked the female lead sometimes, she was supposed to be smart enough to become a surgeon yet she was just so ditzy and clumsy. On the other hand, I loved Ruo Wei, she was absolutely gorgeous and I wish they delved more into her backstory and what exactly happened between her and her family. I also just realized that they kind of made the brother disappear. But anyways, I don't want to make this review too long. Overall, it was non-sensical, but the cuteness between the two main leads had me cheesing and giddy at times, and once I realized that this was just a little fluffy ride, I just entertained enough hence the 7/10 rating. Watch this if you have a couple days to marathon and want something easy to watch.

A pretty good mystery/romance drama

Honestly, I'm surprised at all the bad reviews this drama got. I liked it and kept waiting for the turning point where the drama takes a turn for the worst but for me, that never came. Sure, I didn't care much for the big reveal at the end but I still thought it was a good mystery that kept me engaged the entire time and had me guessing who the big bad guy was at the end. And my heart absolutely broke for Gyehoon, especially at the end. All in all, I don't think I would watch it again and I think watching it on 2x helped just cause I really can't stand being in suspense. But I liked the drama, it was entertaining and engaging and that's all I could ask for.
