Just okay.

In the span of 8 episodes, it was not bad but at the same time it is not really impactful to the viewers. The story is kinda common, the acting isn't really that overwhelming maybe because the flow of the story is light. The thing I love the most in this series is the OST. It was well blend and harmonize, fit to the title itself.

I guess if they can only present more, I'm sure it will be good enough. I don't really feel the chemistry between the main lead but it's okay at least at some point I was feel happy watching one of their scenes.

The only thing I want for Korean BL is to please lengthen every episodes of your series. The potential is there and we, the fans, wanted more!

ALL TIME FAVE! Cherry Magic is a must.

PERFECTION.

Cherry Magic is literally the best BL show of 2020, no doubt! A perfect blend of magic and romance.

STORY & ACTING/CAST

I've never thought that fantasy can be so real. The way the story revolves around Adachi's obtained magic after he turned 30 is really not typical. Wherein, virginity is a sensitive topic that some people laugh at someone who's still virgin after 20's.

The first episode excites me the most. The moment where Adachi realize that Kurosawa has a crush on him definitely gives me butterflies in my stomach, I feel this every single episode of the show.

Kurosawa and Adachi will always be in my heart. Best couple ever!

Kurosawa is a caring, loving, sincere, genuine, sexy, manly but also cutie, an amazing person inside and out. Machida Keita fits the role so well. Yes, I'm inlove! He is the man that most of us wish to have. Indeed, a perfect man.

Adachi on the other hand is a innocent-introverted cute guy who is so pure and cute. I bet no one can resist his charm. Akaso Eiji also plays the role so well.

Keita (Kurosawa) and Eiji (Adachi) chemistry is on the highest level! I really really hope for another project of both of them together as a couple of course!

The lovestory of the two is memorable, every little scenes matter for me and I can't forget those because I just keep smiling from the first to last episodes plus the two sequel episodes.

The side characters are also so good. Rokkaku's energetic and funny side creates more color to the show. Fujisaki and her idea of not wanting to be in a relationship is a way to open up this kind of topic to the public that you don't required to have a girl/boyfriend to be happy, living the way you want is enough reason to be happy. Urabe, their co-worker is supportive but also a push Adachi on his works. The side couple is also cute.

MUSIC is one of the reason why Cherry Magic is so beautiful. Ubugoe (Birth), the opening song sang by Omoinotake gives the vibes of Adachi who is slowly opening his heart for someone. Then the ending song, Good Love Your Love by Deep Squad is for Kurosawa who is screaming his genuine love and care for his precious Adachi. I absolutely love this songs! I listen to it every single time. Not to mention, the background music of Cherry Magic is too cute and emotional as well.

I guess I can rewatch it a couple of times because it is really one of a kind. All things may come to an end, I'm definitely sad that my fave show ended already but still grateful for how they help me became happy this quarantine.

Thank you for a magical and wonderful BL experience.

"Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You A Wizard" I love you from the bottom of my heart.

Akaso Eiji and Keita Machida as Kurosawa and Adachi will be forever sealed in my heart!

CUTE CHEMISTRY

First of all, the story is a typical rival turn to lovers bl series but the characters manage to pull it up because of the cute chemistry of the main actors. Itt and Pai couple is super duper cute, specially their speaking voice hahaha I fell in love with it.

Second, the other supporting characters add flavours to the show and make it more fun and interesting to watch.

Third, I also love how they portray each characters.

I guess the only shortcomings in this show is the fact that the story was divided into two parts; the high school days and the college days which revolves into the same story of the main couple without a character development and it was derived in a long period of time which consume almost half of the total number of episodes in the series. Plus, the ending is not an impactful finale unlike any other drama, I was expecting for more.

But overall, the series is entertaining to watch and I didn't get bored even though it is another cliche drama. Good job to the cast, staff, and all of the people behind it.

Weirdness at its finest

Decided to watch this show with low expectations. A classic romantic-horror drama that broke the norms in most paranormal stories since the ghost here can be clearly photographed and even had sex with a living human. All throughout the story, aside from getting bored from the slow phase of the sequence, I can’t take the acting seriously. Almost all of the cast can’t act and fell into below average skills in terms of acting. Nut somehow slightly improves compared to his performance during Oxygen the series yet he still can’t maintain the certain emotions needed for the story. The actor who played Phat mostly delivered his scene with a heavy breathing tends to derive it into being emotional. Poor acting performance, a big NO NO for a semi-dramatic show.

The creepiest thing about this show is not the ghost or spirits but the actual humans themselves. Hailing as the weirdest character goes to the landlady. She is insane and needs psychological treatment for her obsessiveness to Phob’s father. Installing CCTV at the house which she allowed others to rent was irksome. She even had the audacity to give an attitude to Phat’s mother then eventually they became best of friends which was unbelievably accepted in reality. The guy who stated that he saw some alien kind of stuff is just a waste of screentime.

Plot keeps getting weirder and weirder in the worst way. At first, the show was fine until they offered such silly plot twists in the story. Some dramas with cliche storyline are much better than this one. I can’t help but to fast forward every single episode. I lost interest and felt so much complicated feelings on how badly the rules of the story were implied. On the good hand, the girl bestfriend is the only likable character from the show who can also act good.

A Satisfying Finale Season

Okay so first of all, common reason why the ratings are so low because most of them are rooting for Sun Ho, I understand your frustration but obviously Hye Yeong deserves it too and I'm so happy that he is the one Kim Jojo choose.

STORY

The unique thing about this drama is the Love Alarm concept, which were the reason why viewers are so into it in the first place. I really love how they manage to pull off the flow of the story and how they connected "The Ringing World" by Jojo to the app itself. The love alarm app is too cute but not really commendable to function in real life cause it's dangerous and manipulative to people feelings. Aside from the love alarm app, most stories are cliche. I really love the ending, looking back at season 1, all of my questions has finally been answered in this season.

ACTING

Kim So Hyun always slaying her role, actually she is my favorite Korean actress and no doubt that the role of Kim Jojo perfectly fits her.

Jung Ga Ram also captivates my attention because of his expressive facial expression. I love him and the way he delivers the character of Hye Yeong is excellent. Then Song Kang acting is good too.

Go Min Si, compare to the first season, her character here is kinda cute. I was really irritated to her on the first season but luckily the character development helps the shows to became light and take a rest from the love triangle drama.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

As expected for a Korean series, they never fails to amaze me on how beautiful they creates shots and produce films.

MUSIC

This season was full of English songs and I love it. The music gives more emotion and impact to the story and it is a well suited one so I really enjoyed listening to it while watching the show.

REASONS WHY HYE YEONG IS THE ONE DESERVES SO MUCH LOVE:
(Since S1 EP1, I am a proud Team Hye Yeong)

1. He has the characteristics to be a role model at such a young age. Although he was born from a poor family without a father, it didn't let this situation to be his flaws. Appeal to Pity doesn't found on him and that's why I like how they started the story with Hye Yeong working and studying at the same time. Such a hard-working man since then.
2. He is the first one to notice Jojo. But then Sun Ho appears on the scene and fall in love with the same girl, at the ending at some point I feel sad about Sun Oh and it shows that the love triangle in the drama is effective.
3. He is a man of words.
4. Caring, kind, and lovely.
5. Willing to wait for the one he love.
6. He is soooo cute!!

I'm late watching this because I was bored after the poor feedback from the show but thankfully I still watched this. To be honest, it was a good drama and I don't think that it deserves a poor rating from the people who only came here for romance. Like just look on how they tells the past of Kim Jojo and how it traumatize her, she overcome it in the end by accepting her own and stating to herself that she is worthy to be alive. There are too many lessons in the show too but yeah since it is a romance drama people are expecting to let their bet lead to be the end game for Jojo but since majority of them is team Sun Ho, the disappointments affects the ratings.

Lesson I learned from Love Alarm 2:

"Liking someone isn't something to be sorry for, and expressing yourself sincerely is the best thing you can do for yourself and others."

PS: It's really hard to tell someone that you like him/her and even though the world rules with Love Alarm, I didn't want to install it.

robotic acting + cliche story

A bad and boring series!

I decided to watch this because of the feedback I read on Facebook saying it's cute and all but...

I was disappointed.

Even once, I didn't like a single episode. The only good thing about this show is the story of Dr. Petch and Khim. Grateful for them for saving the show for just a short period of time.

The main couple and side couple is so bad on acting. Most of the scenes are so corny and cringe. I just keep watching to complete what I started.

I am bored to the max from the first episode until the last. Bad, just bad!

No plot twist, weak chemistry, poor script.

Ahhhh, at least for the OST, it is good.

Craving for more

A high-quality medical drama that consecutively showcases their greatness in their chosen genre. Three seasons and I wanted some more. I am totally hyped the moment they announced this sequel. The building of Doldam Trauma Hospital proves that the future of those who work hard will always be in good hands.

The stories are not as impactful compared to the two previous seasons and this may be the reason why this is my least favorite among the three. Yet, it is still as good as it is. The way they introduced Professor Cha’s character makes way for the viewers to realize that Master Kim does not always have the best solution that fits both the patient and the doctors. I like his intimidating character and his pride of him as an experienced professional. It’s a pity that he has to say goodbye and totally disappeared during the finale.

There is always a new beginning for some endings. The return of Kang Dong Joo brings more spice to the drama. The characters from the first season have always had a special place in my heart. I love his appearance as I am getting tired of seeing such a downgrade of attitude from Seo Woo Jin. Season three is not his season and his recklessness is too heavy to consume while watching.

I have a feeling that a fourth season is possible and all of the main characters from each season may get together. The finale of season three is too open-ended. I will patiently wait until the production dropped the announcement for another sequel with powerful castings. My expectation is high but I hope they can write another impressive batch of stories to be featured in a possible next season.

Byun Baekhyun is the back as well! He sang another emotional song, “Hello.” His voice is literally perfect for the vibes that Dr. Romantic has. “My Love,” the OST of the second season is still now one of my favorite K-OSTs of all time. The background music also from this show is exceptionally unique and perfect for medical cases.

I love the third season but as I mentioned earlier, not as much as I love the two previous seasons. Dr. Romantic is the perfect medical romance drama for people who wants to get inspired and get to know more about the superheroes' life of our medical practitioners.

Cute, silly, and fun!

With its semi-fantasy element that centralized on luck, it executed a freshly new concept that I never encountered in other dramas before. It was adorable and full of fluffiness. An unlucky man who met his complete opposite man in terms of luck, who soon became his boyfriend.

Shinomiya Naoya, Sato Yusuke in real life, really looks like a son-version of Keita Machida. The resemblance is noticeable; good-looking faces, lovely facial expressions, and portraying such boyfriend material characters (Kurosawa & Naoya). The zooming-in of Naoya’s nipples was a nice view to see, he is a fine hot man. I can fully understand Kota’s gay panicked moment seeing a half-naked man's body in front of him at that time.

Japan is a big fan of making the story comedic with their actors playing big and exaggerated actions. Most of them are surely done in a cute way but can’t help to feel cringe at some scenes. The bad luck events are bearable at first however, it gets cheesier as the episodes pass by. Thankfully, their amusing love story is enough to conclude that this is indeed a nice show.

Despite Kota’s prior intention of using Naoya’s luck for his own gain, I personally think that given his unluckiness, his decision is valid and acceptable. Good thing that he realized that it is evil to befriend others just to satisfy your cravings. Naoya’s background story, on the other hand, helps the story to justify the kiss that he initiated in the first episode.

The moment I heard the OST, I immediately searched for it and added it to my playlist because of its catchy and beautiful vibes that match the whole storyline of the drama.

Another short yet sweet Japanese BL that captures the viewers' hearts simply because of the characters. Arigato to the quirky Kota and to the overly cute creature, Naoya.

A beautiful delicacy of romance, twinkling in my eyes

Korean BL is really a masterpiece!! If only they can lengthen every episodes cause viewers wanted more but anyways To My Star is one of my fave short drama ever.

It started with a idol who got into a controversy which I already saw a lot of it from other drama but in here, it gives a unique and special plot. At the begining of the episode I was annoyed with Seojun's character but if fades the moment he got to share the same scene with Jiwoo.

Son Woo Hyun and Kim Kang Min has an incredible chemistry, it really gives me butterflies every scenes they had. They're too cute and I want more

BEST KISSING SCENE from a Korean BL. The ending was such a wonderful treat to the fans ohmygosh! I also want to play Jijutsu hahaha. They really got everything they have in that scene, it was so beautiful and satisfying to watch. I really really love that kissing scene then moving the camera to the window to witness the star, compatible to the title itself.

I love the lines of Kang See Jun saying that it is rare to find someone who we can enjoy spending time and falling in love. Yes! Plus Han Ji Woo as a chef really adds flavor to the storyline.

Side characters are also cute and supportive. The betrayal between old friends happened. It is good that they didn't work together again because you have to be realistic cause the trust was already ruin. This drama deserve a lot with their not typical plot twist even into smaller details.

Ovearall, To My Star gives me happiness and joy so it deserve a high rating. It was such a cute love story of Seojun and Jisoo, being mature and considerate with each other. Again, BEST KISS I EVER SEEN IN A KOREAN BL.

A bright shining star that slowly loses its spark

They almost got me. I was so indulgent during the first few EPs and feel like this drama will climb itself to the top of my fave BL shows but lacks the consistency of offering the same kind of excitement.

The flow of the story is enjoyable; lesser cringes and cliche scenarios, no overdramatic plots, loveable characters, and something that can make me attached to the romance. It’s a glorious show since it can make me thirsty for the next EP.

GMMTV’s actor squad in a BL that can pull the show. It’s nice to witness a good-looking cast that can live up to their title as actors. Joong and Drunk are worthy to be the main character for their exceptional on-screen chemistry. The thing I adore the most is their exquisite facial expressions that definitely carried out their roles as Khluen and Daonuea. Two thumbs up for the creative names from them; Dao means Stars and Khluen means Waves.

Maithee and Sean are wholesome. Their flirty moments are always a minute of giggles. The comedic personality of these two surely makes me laugh a lot. The mesmerizing sensor of Sean that always detects Khluen’s affection for Dao, and Maithee’s cute and frisky personality that liven up the mood. Had a great time watching them as an extra-fine addition to the drama.

Phoon, the character who fell to the badly-written ending. Ever since his first appearance on the show, this boy caught my attention for his handsomeness. It’s clear that his role is going to be the usual male second lead that lifted up the drowsing courage of the main couple to admit their love for each other by him being the source of jealousy. Phoon’s direct personality is admirable. He can verbally confess his feelings without hinting any sense of disruption. However, the turn of events in his story is unacceptable. The show ruins his character; a side role that needs to do something awful just to justify the romantic development of the main couple. I hate this kind of twist.

Phaphaeng, the girl who also fell for Daonuea, is such a cutie too. I sincerely felt sorry for her after the rejection she endured from being in unrequited love. This has a different vibe compared to some girl roles in a Thai BL that mostly played as the wall to the love story of the main character. It's a real sadness to experience the deep pain of the heart from one-sided love.

So where did the drama go wrong? Personally, I feel extreme boredness the moment that Khluen and Dao finally reopen their feelings for each other. The enjoyment and thrill aren’t the same in contrast to them being all fluffy and jolly in the past. The scenes after the confession didn’t generate an impact on me. Khluen’s constantly stealing kisses from Daonuea aren’t romantic. I always feel uncomfortable when Khluen shows a fondness for Dao without making a clear conclusion about his relationship with Gia, in which people around them thought that they were dating.

Another drama that has an outstanding start but failed to be consistent. The ending is simply an average ending to me, contrary to my expectations. Despite this, it was still better than the usual university love story that I’ve seen from most BLs. Lastly, Joong singing the OST of the drama is ethereal. His voice is like a flowing river of mixed sweetness and sexiness.

Fighting scene execution wins!

Another anime franchise that Netflix decided to pour out their budget for a live-action. Yu Yu Hakusho, popularized in my country as “Ghost Fighter,” is a notable series during the 90s and early 20s. The anime became part of my childhood happy memories and after reading the announcement for a drama version, I am thrilled and somehow scared at the same time.

The production quality did not disappoint. We were served with realistic visual effects, the iconic costumes of the characters, and most especially the execution of the fighting scenes that deserve applause. Nevertheless, I can’t help but notice that they fast-forward the sequence of the story by cutting some major parts from the original version. It is understandable since they need to fit everything with only five episodes in total but I never expected to see everything in one sitting. To be honest, I was expecting to see them fight in the tournament in the demon realm.

The actors portrayed their roles nicely too. I love the perfect appearance of Kurama and the moment he turned into the white fox. They give justice to the characters although some of the cast aren’t that great compared to what I imagined them to be. Still, everyone did a good job handling their specific roles.

Light BL with seducing lead(s)

This drama slays and serves well with alluring actors to play the lead roles. It boosts the fondness of the viewers to continue supporting the show; all thanks to the sexual tension and eye-candy visuals of the cast. The story alone is obviously too bland and feels too rushed with how they emphasize the romance between the characters. They introduced us to Lee Jun and his three suitors which eventually led to the two of them being matched in the end.

I also feel disappointed that the production did not utilize the concept of scents in relation to the main couple’s journey of love. Yes, they implied this in some of the scenes but I feel like it is not enough. Despite the slow progress, I am happy with the two Jun’s chemistry on each other. These two can literally act unlike some of the BL actors out there.

There are some complaints I have with this show but you can tell that Jun & Jun is actually a fun light BL drama with a luscious cast to fill up the gap in the story execution. I fell in love with the manliness of Manager Jun and team leader Hyun Jae. Looking forward to their next project/s in the future and hopefully, another BL-genre!

Nothing seems new to me

The thought of a fluffy and lovely show washed away because of how cliche the characters are. I am a fan of cute office-based setups but the story doesn’t light a fire in me. It was so plain and uninteresting.

I like Moon Ji Yong in his leading BL role in Once Again, however, his character here is annoyingly out of touch. The same with his manager, who keeps stealing kisses whenever the intern is drunk. It wasn’t dreamy and romantic as they tried to emphasize it, instead, it was corny and too naive.

Soulmates done right with its astounding storytelling performances

Bestowed by the beauty of this extraordinary show: The prosperous production quality, creativity of the story, outstanding acting performances, realness of props and settings, admirably blend of genres, unpredicted plot twists, attachment to the characters, powerful execution of fight scenes, and the effective conveyance of impact to the audience. This, without doubt, is one of the best Chinese series I’ve ever seen.

Martial Arts, as the source of power and skills of the individuals in this story, is cleverly written and gracefully fits well into the traditional set-up along with its magical-fantasy clashes of sects and clans. The several factions that they introduced were my favorite thing about this. It began to click my interest the moment they started bringing those different groups of tribes such as the Ten Devils of the Ghost Valley, Five Lakes Alliance, Four Scorpions, Window of Heaven, Four Seasons Manor, Four Sages of Anji, Beggar Gangs, and the list goes on. They also gave them a unique naming with a meaning connected to either their beliefs or their contribution to the world.

The chemistry between the main leads is powerful and entertaining. It’s an inventive pairing as both of them are just like the two sides of the same coin; Zhou Zi Shu, the leader of the prominent Window of Heaven, and Wen Ke Xing the leader of the hated wicked Ghosts. Their personalities also differ, with one being all flirty and vengeful while the other one is a man of virtue who seeks only the goodness in humanity.

Aside from them, the rest of the cast also left memorable roles that feel like they're in one big family. Chen Ling is the couple’s son and acts as the bridge of reconciliation whenever the two need one. Ah Xiang is the daughter who is showering with a ray of sunshine around her. Wei Ning is their son-in-law who is very loyal to the one he loves. Ye Bai Yi is WKX’s mother-in-law who behaves like he hates the existence of him but in fact, he loves teasing him. Liu Qian Qiao and Xi Sang Gui are the trusted and ever-supportive aunts. And the rest of the cast are either their ally or enemy. The only antagonist from the show that I feel more sympathy for than hatred, is the Scorpion King who only wanted to feel genuinely appreciated by his foster father. It’s also a good bonus that he is cute despite having a dark characterization.

Personally, the Longyuan Cabinet Journey is my top pick of episodes from the show. The number of traps, mysteries, and the uses of mechanical arts was stunning. It somehow reminds me of Percy Jackson’s Battle in the Labyrinth, in which they found out that the minor-god Pan, is already dying while secluded inside. The same scenario was with the head of the Longyuan Cabinet who was brutally injured by his son. This is also the time when I hold a firm grip on the whole plot and past of the stories. There’s nothing more satisfying when you finally understand what’s going on. The feeling is amazing to be driven by the creative flow of the story.

The more I’ve watched the Word of Honor, the more I can feel the similarities it has to The Untamed, which I considered to be the best traditional-fantasy storytelling. Both shares the same genre, a bromance in drama (yet it doesn’t feel like a bromance at all since it is pretty obvious that they’re showcasing more than that) but a BL in the novel, a pilot episode that left you in awe of confusion, has an antagonist that can pass as the greatest pretender (Nie Huisang ranks first then followed by Zhao Jing), both most love hetero-couple died, and the two dramas explicit a rarity in providing top-class stories.

For the ending of Word of Honor, one should watch the special/epilogue episode to fully satisfy themselves by getting a happy ending since the last episode (36) looks like one of them or worst both of them died in the end. Nevertheless, it is pretty clear that they once again set the standard high for the next series you’ve ever planned to watch. I loved the overall impression that this series has given me. They’re indeed soulmates who are destined to survive all the odds in life. In addition to the story, it will never be as good as it is without the pleasing soundtracks that deliver clarity of emotion from each character.

Zhou Zi Shu and Wen Ke Xing acquired their happiness in the end and I’m grateful for it. Soulmates increase one’s hope to live longer and to be able to feel the warmth of affection from the other person for a long period. May we all hopefully lead to this kind of gratifying part of life in the future. Believe in the power of bliss that honors our whole existence in life, along with that one word, love.

A DECADE WITH EXO

Happy 10’th Anniversary to my home, EXO!

A decade full of love and comfort. Thank you for being my ultimate source of joy. You’ll always be there for me, keep inspiring me, motivating me, encouraging me to keep pursuing my dreams, and most importantly you’ll always be the group who sends me the warmth and affection that’s been a big part of my life now.

EXO’s Travel the World in a Ladder in Namhae is a precious gift for us. A show that brings too much joy in our hearts despite the incomplete number of members presented. It just shows that EXO is EXO no matter who the members presented. They’re always the cutest, happiest, and funniest idols when they are one-sitted in the same room. The whole 12 episodes are short yet enough to satisfy us.

A roller coaster of emotions for the past 10 years. I knew EXO since their debut but became an avid fan way back in 2017. It was that day when I heard Growl once again after years of its release. I felt nostalgic until I found myself indulging not only in the group’s song but also the members themselves. It’s been five years now since joining the fandom, the family called EXO-L. I met several people both online and in real life, all because EXO created the bridge for us to become friends.

KPOP is not a phase when it comes to EXO -the group that introduced me to KPOP and the only reason why I am still into KPOP. To Xiumin, Suho, D.O, Kai, and Sehun, thank you for the efforts to give us content every now and then. To Chen, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol, we only wish for your safe and healthy returns. To Lay, who bid farewell only to SM but not to EXO, I am so happy that you’re finally free from the company. You’ll always be in our hearts and no one knows more than EXO-Ls how much you treasure EXO in your life. JIU is a precious song to us, the song dedicated to Lay’s one big happy family, the solid brotherhood formed by EXO. Forever grateful for these nine incredible people.

Looking forward to more group and solo activities from them. So proud to spend my youth stanning EXO. Congratulations, we made it so far and more years to come. WE ARE ONE! EXO SARANGHAJA!
