emotional and touching

April 9, 2021

Until We Meet Again is a very touching and emotional series. Be prepared to watch this with boxes of tissues as it is tragic and may lead to a mild feeling of depression. Though, I must say that be prepared for some spicy and steamy scenes that will make you faint.

Dean and Win, the strong "alpha" men who are very protective to their wives, Pharm and Team. Dean is so caring to Pharm and very thoughtful. He kept blaming his past life as he hurt Pharm so much. Also, a lot of people have been criticizing their chemistry and I must say that. They have pretty good chemistry, but I understand since Korn(Dean) and In(Pharm), their past selves really delivered through their story. It's so funny how they basically swapped families after they were reincarnated. Pharm is born into Korn's family while Dean is born into In's family. I am just happy that their families are accepting as they witness how Korn and In both committed suicides due to the disapproval of their family.

Though, the reason why I gave a lower rating in terms of the storyline as the execution was a bit messy. I feel like constant crying of Pharm due recollecting his memories as In had bored in the latter half of the story. I felt that every minute he cries and I try to understand but I just got more annoyed. Also, when Pharm asked for a 3-month break and pointed the gun to himself while confronting Dean just triggered my anger even more. I felt that Pharm was a bit selfish in his action and did not even bother to understand Dean.

Anyway, WIN AND TEAM!! I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR OWN SERIES. I HOPE IT GETS RELEASED SOON. Win is so caring to Team. It's so funny how Team is so loyal to his lays. I feel like Win might get jealous in their own series. Also, when Manaow finally got herself a boo and ALEX OUR BI KING AND DEL STARTED DATING I WAS SO HAPPY. I highkey wish that each couple from the squad will get their own series. Also, they are all cuffed up. Can I join their squad maybe I won't be single anymore? We have Dean&Pharm, Win&Team, Alex&Del, and Manaow&her boo ( I forgot his name lol)

Unexpectedly good

April 8, 2021

If I am being honest, when I first watched the pilot episode. I thought this would be like your typical drama but it aint. This drama delivered the emotions that you need while touching the subject of friendship, relationship, accepting yourself, and self-love. I really AM SO FKING EXCITED TO WATCH SEASON 2.

I hope that in season two there won't be dragged-on misunderstanding. The way everyone was supportive of each other especially the brother and the ex gf and the other guy backing off. So that the two leads can be together was just phenomenal. I really love the chemistry of the leads. OMFG I WAS ABOUT TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK ON THE SCENE ON HIS BEDROOM AND THAT UNDERWATER SCENE. MY GOD, I ALMOST CLOSED MY LAPTOP JUST TO BREATH. CAUSE THOSE SCENES WERE BREATHTAKING. THE TENSION OF THOSE TWO ACTORS ARE SUPERIOR. I FELT THAT MY STOMACH WAS PUT INTO KNOTS. I WAS SWEATING TOO CAUSE IT WAS JUST WAY TOO STEAMY!!!!

Never hated a damn elevator in my whole damn life

April 7, 2021

This Japanese BL is one sweet of a ride. I really like the ending as it leads to the foundation that can lead to a second season. I really love our two lovely main leads. They are very affectionate even though there not a single kiss scene or steamy scene like most Japanese dramas. I know a lot of people have been criticizing the side story of the second couple but to be honest I did not find anything weird about them. Both are legal adults and their story is pretty cute too.

It would have been a perfect 10 but I feel like the plot just needs more. I feel like it falls short on explaining things as there as so many questions left unanswered. That being said, Ill change my review later if they release a second season. As I feel like it would explain and clear things up. Crossed my fingers that another season will happen.

Lastly, DAMN I HATE THAT ELEVATOR I LITERALLY GOT ROBBED!!!!

DESERVES THE BETTER RECOGNITION

April 2, 2021

I LOVE THIS TAIWANESE DRAMA. One of my favourite for sure. It’s so good and well written. I cried so hard on so many occasions as I felt so empty and lonely watching the astonishing chemistry of the leads. From time travelling back to the present and past. Though I must say I still have a lot of unanswered questions.

Like why are they connected. It’s not like the characters are the reincarnated version of each other since in 90s timeline our 2019 leads are still children... They showed how Yu Xian met Li Zi Wei as a toddler and Zi Wei is already a highschool student at the time.

I CRIED BUCKETS AT THE END HOW CAN THE WRITER MA BE SO CRUEL. I feel so sad and empty after watching this. I can’t imagine if this shit happens to me.(Which I know will never happen but still) I AM STILL SO SAD 😭

I just hope the Huang Xu Yuan and Li Zi Wei meet again in the future. I don't care about the age gap. I just want them to find each other again in fall in love. I guess I am happy that the highschooler Li Zi Wei met the child Huang Xu Yuan. I wish there is more episodes to wrap it up.

I need a second season in the future in 2019 timeline where the Li Zi Wei who is in his late 30s or early 40s meet Huang Xu Yuan who is in her late 20s or early 30s.

Argh, THIS DESERVES THE BETTER RECOGNITION. IT IS WELL WRITTEN AND THERE WAS NEVER A DULL MOMENT. I AM SO SAD SINCE I FEEL SO EMPTY RIGHT NOW....

The only kdrama in 2021 where I did not skip or hit the pass forward button

May 6, 2021

Holy shit, it has come to an end for bingeing this series and I am fking dead. Hands down Vincenzo deserves the hype that it has! It is literally the only kdrama released this year where I never found boring. Each 20 episodes were fulfilling and I can tell that the writers put effort into producing such a brilliant series.

First and foremost the CGI, HOLY CRAP. The graphic is just majestic you can clearly tell that the producers and directors put everything they can to fking deliver. I don't care what anyone else says, but many kdramas from late 2020 to early 2021 are full of mediocre plots. A lot of them were very disappointing. I have drop a lot of them or skip until the finale just so I can it was good. I feel like Vincenzo and Penthouse were the well-written ones out here.

As for Vincenzo Cassano himself, I can say that he is majestic. Obviously, we know that he has a past and that he is not really a hero, but he isn't a villain either. He pretty much just trying to live his life. He is so funny and ironic. And his chemistry with Cha Young is off the charts. Well obviously the romance aspect was not really the main focus but it is still pretty well delivered.

Cha young on the other hand is strong female lead who is a badass bitch and intelligent asf. She may have her Damsel in distress moment but overall I love her acting and her character. She is very charismatic and not a nuisance.

HAN SEO, AH MY BELOVED HAN SEO. I am so happy that he was able to find true brotherhood with Vincenzo. I am so sad that things had to end that way with him. I literally fking bawled the fuck out of my eyeballs. Holy crap, how can the writers be so fking cruel. Like goddamn it! TVN U BITCH U ALWAYS WRITE OFF MY FAVOURITE CHARACTERS!!!!!!!

Ge to Gege ?

April 24, 2024

Unknown has definitely been one of the well-written Taiwanese Bls in the last few years.

Yup, I said it. I think Taiwan was going through a slump of BLs in terms of their production and such. As I dropped a lot of the released BLs over the past few years.

The reason why I could not give this series a solid 10/10 is just that I could not really feel settle or fully feel comfortable regarding the leads. I know that they aren't blood related at all and by any means, they are basically strangers who just happened to become a family. Or like raised together as a parent/son? Older brother/younger brother ... See even saying this whole sentence, it already kind of makes me feel unsettled. I guess that's my only critique of this fictional show. I do know that there are many many series with this type of plot synopsis but still, I think that is for sure the reason why it just doesn't seem like a 10/10 drama for me.

Now in terms of all the positive aspects of this show:
- It is well-written. Both leads are written well, for their background, their motivation to succeed in time. In terms of accepting themselves given how society perceives them.
- This also goes to the supporting leads as well. Each of them are developed and there might be a few jagged scenes here and there. Regardless, it was not something that was so distracting and can go unnoticeable.
- The ending was amazing, it encompasses the vulnerability, yet steamingly hot and mature scenes. It was absolutely beautiful and I love it.

In the name of darkness, let light prevail

Jan. 20, 2024

My Demon is definitely that kdrama to start this year of with. I know that this has been hyped up for a while due to the popularity of the casts. Needless to say, it is definitely worth the hype. It has a good mixture of cliches, vibrant of what a typical fantasy rom-com kdrama.

I know a lot of people are saying how the plot is not really a plot. And I definitely agree with that. This show is very light hearted and fluffy to digest. Even though there are darker themes shown and discussed, it is still easily taken over by the light hearted of the shown. The plot is very basic, and at times it can be predictable. However, no matter what critics might say, I definitely still love and will continue to rewatch this series. I think it has given me a good nostalgia ever if I rewatched it again as My Demon is on par with that season of really good kdrama in the last quarter of 2023 plus the first few months of 2024.
(I am referring to the fact that My Demon, Welcome to Sam dal-ri, Park's Marriage Contract, A good day to be a dog, Castaway, Doona, Vigilante, etc. are around the same time of airing. And this era of kdrama airtime is really that good. I always kept looking forward to them every single week).

As for what kept me hooked into the show, I am for sure that it is due to the execution of the cast rather than the plot. The casts of the series carried the show, especially in the latter part.

It is a happy ending, and I enjoyed the roller coaster ride of emotion My Demon has provided. There might be plot holes but it did not really bother me at all.

Cheers 😏

He was sunshine, I was midnight rain

October 23, 2023

Doona, this kdrama hits so hard, because I feel like it is a perfect story regarding the behind the stories of romances of idols/celebrities with "ordinary" people. This kdrama made me cry at the end because I know the pain of having to choose your career over romantic relationship.

The OST hits so good as well, but Midnight Rain by TS really captures the storyline of Doona and Wonjun. I know a lot of people are mad about the ending being unsatisfying, but I think this drama is about the reality. And the sad truth is not everyone will experience that happy-ever after ending that they dream of. Donna is a perfect example of that.

So please, to all the ones who is asking for that reality melodrama spiced up with angst. Please give DOONA the love that is deserves!

It's so beautiful the lowratings are a scam.

Sep 27, 2023

HOLY SHIT. I have been putting this bl in the back burner because the ratings were saying about how boring this show and not great. However, I decided to finally pick it up after months and months of postponing it. First episode hits so damn good.

I already felt hooked to this drama right from the pilot. Every episode was pretty good in my opinion. I have some few critiques with the plot. But damn, I personally think that this drama was critiqued way too harshly. Maybe because it is more on the melodrama side and it is not the typical fluffy BLs out there.

Also, I just want to shout out Fumiya's character because he is such a green flag. He literally climbed by bl green flags list so fast, I need him in my life.

As of today's date, this show has a rating of 7.7 which I believe is too low. This deserves an 8.0 rating at the very least. Jack o frost bl is literally so much better in terms of many aspect in comparison to the highly rated bls for this year js.

I hope you give this show a chance like I did. Cause it definitely deserves a much better recognition !

Lovely, refreshing, cliché but I love it

Feb. 26, 2023

Time and Him are just right is one of the best youth cdrama I have watched in a hot minute. I really love the communication between the male and female lead. Like their dynamic as a duo is just so lovely.

To be fair, for a youth drama, they are actually pretty mature in regards to my standards considering I have watched a ton of youth genre dramas.

There was some minor hiccups here and there in the plot progression but it didn't bother me at all henceforth the 9.5 star rating.

In terms of the SML syndrome, yes I had it. But to be fair the ML really snatched my heart so I definitely was like switching teams like a mad man.

The group dynamic itself was fantastic and pretty realistic to me. The way they fought, made up, look at perceptions of so many things. AND honestly, just how they try to put effort into pursuing their dreams that was so important.

In terms of the facing of the show, it is good cause I wasn't bored at all. Like I was absorbing and pretty engaged, which is shocking cause the last few years of youth cdramas has been pretty meh. I had to dropped like bazzillion of them just cause of how immature, petty, and boring the series were.

But this one ate most show up.

Love it.

Recommend heavily to yalls to watch.

MUCH LOVE AND I WANT A JUN XING PLEASE LORD and a QIN KAI AS well thanks!

Smart female lead who is always a step ahead

January 2, 2023

THE GLORY is definitely the way to start off 2023 with the KDRAMA world. I felt the angst, the revenge, and all the other fking emotions I got to feel.

It is so satisfying for Song Hye Kyo to comeback in this badass drama. To be honest, I could not care less regarding the lack of romance as it does not put a thing with the plot. So hopeful for season 2, I do wish this series was not split cough cough NETLFIX cough cough.

Anyhow, REVENGE. KARMA. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.

Is it really a sequel without some angst?

July 9, 2022

To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories really hit the fking nerves. Like I am not kidding, when I tell you how communication is such an important thing for a relationship to flourish and survive. I know there are major critiques about this sequel but let me just tell you how I genuinely liked it. Obviously, there are flaws within this season that could have been better, but you know what this series has a special place in my heart. With bias that I am heavily and knowingly acknowledging, I just want to say that this is not as bad as what others have said.

Major spoilers:

Let me just get started with the biggest critique: miscommunication and how the sequel did not outdo the first season. First of all, yes the miscommunication part was a little dragged out. It was frustrating to see Seojun get hurt by Jiwoo as who on Earth leaves their boyfriend like that. Like hello???? I would have literally beaten the fuck out of Jiwoo, for fucks sake. As for how the sequel didn't do justice, I guess it really just depends on people's standpoint and taste. Personally, I like this season, I find it realistic, as much as I criticize Jiwoo's action, I feel like this happens to a lot of people. And if I am being honest I was like Seojun too, I felt his pain right to the core. The feeling of having everything going well then suddenly it actually is not, just feels like a slap to myself. Not gonna lie, I cried so hard, especially during the point where someone told Seojun that "it is enough" or something like that. And how Seojun tried his best to get back with Jiwoo and he should finally move on. I felt that. I bawled my eyes out because I know the pain and the devasting and detrimental it is to our mental health. It wasn't healthy, but I guess the only good thing about it was Seojun got his "happy" ending which isn't the case for most of us.

On another side note (is this even a review at this point...), I really thought this was going to be a sad ending... Before revealing Jiwoo's side, I was hating him so much to the point where I didn’t even want to see him as the end game. I know what his reasons are now, but I feel like maybe a bittersweet ending would have been better...

Anyhow, this season slaps, like literally ... slaps me to point of crying ... breh

One of the best top tier Korean BL at the moment

August 31, 2021

I have been on a slump lately so I have been watching Asian dramas and constantly dropping them after a few episodes. But Light On Me saved me and served right. Everything was done well, there were not unnecessary troupes that are commonly found in other BLs. The relationship of the two are so healthy and non-toxic. It's so realistic that it makes me so jealous of the characters. There was a love triangle but I am happy how it is not dragged on. Everything pretty much went by smoothly. Although, it is noticeable how this drama has a lower budget given the circumstances. But all in all, I am very happy with how everything went through. I suck at remembering names but Shinwoo, my mans 😍. I love him so much.

Holy crap, where can I find a man like him. I need him, he is so respectful and very sincere. I know in the beginning, he was a bit cold and rude but he's one of the best tsundere ever. Like dayum, all I can think about is him. He really stand out among the cast from acting to character development. I know how things are especially given how people are still very narrow minded and that coming out can be a pain. Especially with how some friendship will turn hostile in the end and how often bullying occurs. Given his middle school backstory, I literally cried for him. Because it hits so close to home. I know how it feels and that I am so happy for him to finally have courage and be himself. Also thank god, he was the endgame. I was so close to booking it to Korea cause I thought TGK will choose Da On.

Damn, what a review, I pretty much talked about Shinwoo only. But can you even blame me... Anyway, I hope y'all give this series a chance!!!

Emotionally touching

Aug 6, 2021

Whoa that was quite a ride. At a Distance, Spring is Green is definitely that drama that gives a touch of reality and showcases the cliché statement of "don't judge a book by its cover". Every character has its own flaws but they were able to redeem themselves later on. I guess the sense of maturity that this drama gave is just exceptionally well written.

Although I much as I love the series, I think I was just not in the right season to watch this series that is why I can't give this series a perfect score. But I do feel that the two male leads have so much chemistry. Since this is not a BL, their bromance factor is off the chart. Like damn, I actually feel so much chemistry that it definitely overshadowed the chemistry of certain BL dramas 🍵.

Also OUR TRIO IS JUST THE BEST. OUR THREE MUSKETEERS REALLY DID THAT. One of the few friendships in the kdrama world where I saw a huge character development of the whole crew.

Though, I am a bit mad on how Soo Hyun's love life have concluded. Like WRITERS WTF, WHY IS MY SHIP NOT SAILED. LIKE THAT'S actually SO frustrating I wanna bash my head into the wall. So I definitely will pretend that it did not happen. Cause the writers were mad petty for giving him that condescending ending. 😡

Whoa my tears were just flowing endlessly

July 18, 2021

Oh waw, what a week! I spent this whole watching Word of Honour and every night I just cried. Make sure to have some tissues because my emotions were unstable as heck. HOLY, how can someone think of such a plot. Also, damn... how did this even pass the censorship?? LIke the flirtatious moments from Wen Ke Xing was just phenomenal. Though I must say I love this series from its casts to some parts of the story. I will explain why I gave the plot a significantly lower rating than the other 3 components.

👇 SPOILERS DOWN BELOW and a rant 😅 👇

First of all, I love how they tried to lay out the story. But I must say the bits near the ending and the finale itself could have been significantly better. Like I understand that in Wuxian dramas' side characters are usually killed off. BUT THE WORD OF HONOUR just did not give me a good convincing on why Cao Wei Ning and Ah Xiang have to die. Like how is that bastard the "father" of scorpion king and scorpion king still alive. LIke that just pissed me off. Sure maybe the writers wanted us to experience pain and I just hate them for that. I feel like the author just got lazy with the writing of the end. Like I will happily accept Cao Wei Ning and Ah Xiang's death if the writers just gave us a good reason. Like WTF, when I saw that part, I just flipped out cause what is this honey??? Like the way, they killed these two was just poorly done. Maybe I am too harsh, but that's my opinion.

And WTF is the ending. Like e it's just so condescending... How can you start such a well off plot just for it to fall into that ... mess ? .... I don't even think an appropriate word can express my disappointment in the ending.

So in summary

Pilot till maybe ep 30 ish solid, 10/10

30 ish till finale solid 6/10

Would I still recommend this??

Duh of course, I really wanted to give this series a solid 10/10

But with that part, I will settle for a 9.5 instead 😅
