SWISS ARMY KNIFE
Imagine a world where the sins of the parents aren’t just a metaphor—they’re an actual pirate radio broadcast from the 80s that resurfaces to haunt everyone. Seo Jung-hoo is a high-tech “night courier” dreaming of solitude on a deserted island. Chae Young-sin is a tabloid reporter with zero chill and a heart of pure gold. Kim Moon-ho is a star journalist weighed down by heavy “older brother” guilt. And the true MVP? The Ajumma—an ace hacker who lives on kimbap and yells instructions at the ML through an earpiece.Usually, the “hidden identity” trope drags out 16 episodes of avoidable frustration. Here, it sparks a partnership. When Jung-hoo plays the bumbling rookie “Bong-soo,” the chemistry isn’t just romantic—it’s laugh-out-loud funny. And the action? Not just brainless brawls. It’s parkour-packed, rooftop-leaping, “how did he fit through that window?” brilliance—tactical and sleek over flashy.
That tired trope where leads break up “for the other person’s own good”? *Healer* flips it. These two actually communicate, leaning on each other when things get rough. The mystery of the five friends and their illegal radio station is genuinely gripping, giving the modern-day stakes a weight that turns the story into a multi-generational epic.
And honestly, it’s the gold standard for a reason. Ji Chang-wook is in peak “brooding but soft” mode, while Park Min-young proves she’s the queen of the game. It’s a 20-episode ride that somehow feels over in five.

This is a great show. The first half reminded me of the american TV-show Lois&Clark, for obvious reasons. I loved that show as a kid, Healer's take on this theme was good enough to keep me entertained as an adult. The second male lead was also a bit similar to Lex Luthor early on. The second half is not as good, but it is still head and shoulders above the average Korean action/thriller flick. I always felt that Hallyu cannot compare to american thriller shows like The Americans, or Person of Interest. The action/thriller part of Healer doesn't quite match up to them either, but it's certainly interesting enough. Thanks to some kdrama tropes & the pretty romance this can be considered a different genre though, something the American shows cannot really match either. It's certainly lightyears ahead of Descendants of the Sun, to the point that all the action/thriller scenes in DoTs can be considered a joke in comparison. It's nice that there was no triangle, or other relationship shapes, that was a pleasant surprise. The main actors were all very good, there is some surprisingly good acting from Park Min-young, this is probably her peak as an actress. I loved her in Secretary Kim, but she is MUCH MUCH better here. This is the first time I've seen Ji Chang-wook on screen, but he seems like a very good actor too, he did very well with his fake personality and everything. Obviously there was sizzling chemistry, no surprise there. To mention some negatives, I really did not like the "tense music track" that was playing all the time, it's a pretty bad earworm too. Also there were some cartoon-ish villains that we could've done without, there were some moments that felt pretty fake too. Also the last episode felt pretty rushed.

Healer has it all!
Whatever you are looking for out of a KDrama/TV Show, Healer has it.Superhero-like badass dude who is very charismatic? Check.
Pretty Female Lead? Check.
Action? Oh yes check.
Great Original Sound Track? You got it.
Superb story? Right on.
I thoroughly enjoyed Healer. Is it the best show I've ever watched? Maybe not, there are just so many great ones. But its something in Healer to appeal to a wide variety of persons.

I didn’t expect this
How do I start this? I think I watched it too late?I’m not very much into Action genre so I was very hesitant about starting this drama. I like the main actors in it, most of their work at least, so I just went ahead and started watching it out of boredom. The thoughts “WHY DID I NOT WATCH IT FOR THIS LONG” and “HOW CAN THIS DRAMA BE SO GREAT” ran through my mind while watching it too many times.
The Action there added so much excitement. I never expected that.
The leads have great chemistry and a beautiful connection. They sometimes held back from saying things but it didn’t take too long. Misunderstandings were often cleared quickly. (This doesn’t happen often in kdramas; they mostly drag it for too long).
The FL has a wonderful soul and most importantly is NOT annoying. I don’t know if it’s worded correctly but she isn’t the type to have you roll your eyes out thinking “ah, here we go again”.
The whole plot and story will keep you captivated, wanting to know what happens next. I never got bored.
Plenty of funny scenes as well.
Overall, I’ll give it a 10/10. Definitely worth 20 hours of my life spent on it and probably will be 40 hours since I plan on rewatching.

VERY SHORT REVIEW
The thing that struck me most about this drama, and that I will always remember, was that it was the 1st one that I noticed had ALL women playing very important non-conventional roles, had multi-dimensional personalities and kicked ass in their own way. For this alone I was thankful. It showed the often very undervalued progress of the korean industry (and society) when it comes to women, their roles and their worth. Ji Chang Wook won my as a fan with this very drama, and actor Yoo Ji Tae was beyond phenomenal. Watch. Re-watch and Re-Re-watch!! Definitely recommend.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?

I don't give out a 10 score easily. well balanced drama. Female lead evolves
I probably have seen 3 or 4 dramas that I've deemed worthy of a perfect score, so this is one of the "elite"I've watched this in 2018, then in 2020 & then again in 2025
Briefly :
Good story, good ending, good acting. I was really impressed with the good balance between drama, action, suspense, romance & light heartedness.
Sometimes it got a little too intense for me [I don't enjoy family drama & intense violence] And many episodes ended with intensity. The characters had interesting idiosyncrasies & there was good character, relationship & plot development & resolution. I almost want to say the this is the perfect drama, but there were some negatives.
For instance;
they overused/overplayed the song Eternal love. English is my first language, so I noticed that there were times when the song was playing and the sentiments of the scene were all wrong.
Also, on my 3 rewatch, I found the female lead's character to be dislikeable. it took me to almost half way through the series to warm up to her. Not sure why she only irritated me AFTER already seeing the series twice ! I can only speculate that after seeing alot more dramas , I had developed different preferences & became pickier in what the ideal female lead should be (?) I think that the writer's wrote her poorly in the first episodes but redeemed her character by having her mature & grow, becoming less selfish, etc.
It did seem that they left a bit of an opening for a sequel
**spoiler**
(I mean they they defeated the bad guys but not the next tier of bad guys that were puppeteering the whole movement so really, ARE they safe ?)
Rewatch a 4th time ? definitely !

but then I recently came across this again and saw the really good reviews and decided to give this a shot. So glad I did!
The first two episodes might be a bit slow/confusing because we don't know what's going on. But once the character backgrounds are setup, the story is good to go. And boy does the story go quick! It might be 20 episodes but I went through them in a breeze. There's no slow/draggy plot as the main characters are all smart and reasonable human beings, and they don't dwell on the standard melodrama tropes. They will be put in some awkward/dangerous situations, but the drama cuts the scenes such that the audience will see the behind-the-scenes of the main characters' plot later.
It's a really thrilling and refreshing watch. The main characters' chemistry is also super real.
First time watching Yoo Ji Tae and Ji Chang Wook act; will be back for more!

The chemistry of the main actors is beautiful. They go so well together and are genuinely cute together. This drama was incredibly funny and interesting to watch.
The whole plot is good as well i never once lost interest. The plot was straight to the point and no dragging of the story which was also good. I think this drama is interesting because its about a spy who slowly falls in love. It is amazing because the way they fall in love is so cliche but cute

Wonderful!
I loved this series. The main man (healer) was slightly odd - definitely not a people person. I loved his fascination with her. JCW was able to convey so much with just his eyes! They were very cute together. This was a wonderful romance. I’ll admit I had a difficult time with the flashbacks until I watched it again. It was hard to keep straight who was who. The woman that played his handler was amazing! Happy ending, and the voice overs where they were talking about their likes and dislikes was wonderful.¿Te ha parecido útil esta reseña?

As I am trying to finish shows that I put off over the last year, I picked Healer back up where I left off, and within days have binged watched it because I was sucked into the storyline. I loved the interwoven storyline, the way that all of the characters were connected, and how sometimes the audience got glimpses of the past overlaying the present. Very cool.
The one thing I could have wished a little bit more for is a more concrete 'happy ending' but, given that this is more action based, I am happy that the plot resolved nicely. I'm just a sap who wanted more mush at the ending I suppose.
All in all, I ended up loving this drama about halfway through it. I loved the suspenseful elements, and how they kept the action all the way until the last few minutes of the show.
(I only marked the music down, because they use the song throughout the drama, as they do in many dramas, but it was used in every episode).

Excellent
