In this role, he’s playing seven wildly different characters (impressive in itself), but the emotional range and depth he portrays — Cha Do Hyun’s devastating loneliness, Shin Se Gi’s fierce survival instinct fueled by anger and defiance, Yo Sub’s quiet despair — are what really stand out.
I almost dropped this due to the female lead’s screaming and hysterics at the beginning. While Hwang Jung Eum is an expressive actress, her character’s over-the-top reactions can be irritating and seem inappropriate considering her profession as a psychiatrist.
But the leads’ chemistry, especially their emotional connection, is palpable. Both are beautiful criers and give performances that will often tug at your heartstrings.
I’ve been working through some older K-dramas on my watch list that I’d heard good things about, and although this one is more than 10 years old and the visual style and effects look dated, the cast (including a fresh-faced Park Seo Joon) makes it worth watching.
Note: Viewers should be aware that child abuse is a recurring topic, though it happens offscreen. Suicidal ideation and other mental health crises are also shown and discussed throughout the series.

Seven Personalities, One Unforgettable Masterpiece
Some dramas entertain you, while others leave a lasting impression on your heart. *Kill Me, Heal Me* is one of those rare series that masterfully blends romance, comedy, suspense, and psychological healing into an unforgettable story. At its core, the drama follows **Cha Do-hyun**, the heir to a wealthy conglomerate who secretly lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) after experiencing severe childhood trauma. Desperate to keep his condition hidden while searching for the truth behind his past, Do-hyun's life changes forever when he meets a determined psychiatric resident, **Oh Ri-jin**.The male lead, **Cha Do-hyun** (Ji Sung), delivers one of the finest performances I've ever seen in a Korean drama. Playing one character is difficult enough, but Ji Sung convincingly portrays seven distinct personalities, each with their own voice, mannerisms, emotions, and motivations. From the fearless and unforgettable Shin Se-gi to the mischievous Perry Park and the innocent Yo-na, every personality feels like a completely different person rather than a simple acting exercise. His performance is emotional, heartbreaking, hilarious, and inspiring all at once. It isn't just about showcasing different personalities—it is about revealing the pain, fear, and resilience of a man desperately trying to survive the wounds of his childhood.
The female lead, **Oh Ri-jin** (Hwang Jung-eum), is much more than the typical romantic heroine. As a psychiatric resident, she becomes Do-hyun's greatest source of comfort, understanding, and strength. Ri-jin refuses to define him by his illness, choosing instead to see the kind and compassionate person hidden beneath years of emotional suffering. Hwang Jung-eum brings warmth, humor, and genuine compassion to the role, creating a heroine who helps heal others while gradually confronting her own painful memories. The chemistry between Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-eum is heartfelt and natural, making their relationship one of the drama's strongest emotional anchors.
The supporting cast adds even more depth to the story, especially **Oh Ri-on** (Park Seo-joon), Ri-jin's protective twin brother. His witty personality provides plenty of comic relief, but beneath his humor lies unwavering loyalty and a deep concern for his family. As the story unfolds, every character plays an important role in uncovering long-buried secrets that connect the past to the present.
What truly makes *Kill Me, Heal Me* extraordinary is that it never treats mental illness as a gimmick. Instead, it explores how childhood trauma can shape a person's life and how healing often begins with compassion, acceptance, and confronting painful truths. The drama balances emotional heartbreak with laugh-out-loud comedy, thrilling mystery, and touching romance, creating a story that keeps you invested from beginning to end.
Ji Sung's performance alone makes this drama worth watching, but it is the emotional storytelling that makes it unforgettable. Every personality represents a different piece of a broken soul, and watching those pieces slowly come together is both heartbreaking and deeply rewarding. Few dramas have made me laugh one moment, cry the next, and leave me reflecting long after the final episode.
*Kill Me, Heal Me* is more than a romance or a psychological drama—it is a story about surviving unimaginable pain, learning to forgive yourself, and discovering that healing is possible when someone finally sees every part of who you are and chooses to stay. It remains one of the greatest character-driven performances in Korean drama history and a series I will never forget.

Love the chemistry, acting, and plot development.
This show is just so hilarious and it’s also so cuteee, god watch this and you’ll fall in love.
It sucks for ri on though like yea we all know he isn’t going to get the girl, but still he was so funny and cute that you can’t help but like him lol
Ji sung’s acting like goddamn mister you literally just put everyone else to shame for their mediocre acting when they get an award.
HJE she’s is great like always it surprises me to see that she has so many hate comments, but whatever her acting slays.
Over everything in this drama is amazing no dull moments.10/10

I couldn't stop thinking about this drama, even after months of watching it. So, here I am, writing my very first review after dozens and dozens of dramas. 'Cause it deserves it. PLEASE, IF IT FEELS BORING IN THE FIRST EP, DONT STOP WATCHING, IT GETS SUPER ADDICTED, AT LEAST WATCH 2 FULL EPS!!!
You see, I saw this as a recommendation around half a year ago, and I watched the first episode and lost interest.
Worst decision I've ever made.
I continued watching after I saw a review praising it when I was looking for something to watch. And boy were they right. Here are their, and my, points.
-Great Acting
Okay so Ji Sung (Cha Do Hyun) is as amazing actor. He had to go through so many embarrassing situations with his multiple personalities. From the romantic scenes with Hwang Jung Eum to acting as a teenage girl. He did it so well at that! All of his personalities, so different, but he performed very, very well. If you were to cut to a random scene in episode ten where he acts as someone in his 40s, you would right away believe he was in his 40s. He's extremely talented and, honestly, this drama shows it off the best where he has to act as 7 different people.
He is, in my opinion, the best actor. From what I've seen, and his believability. And I've seen a crap load of k/c/t/j actors.
Hwang Jung Eum, of course, with her experience, is in my top 5. She's believable and she made me cry multiple, or a million, times.
-Chemistry
Okay, so this couple. lemme talk about this couple. THEY HAVE SUCH GOOD CHEMISTRY
Literally, I can't watch another drama with Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum without being disappointed cause literally they're so good.
They have the best chemistry out of all of the couples I've seen in Kdramas.
-Lovable Side Characters
You have to see the drama to get this one, but I grew extremely attached to all of the personalities. I've cried for all of them. Even the funny ones have a dark past for their existence.
and, of course, hwang jung eum's brother in this drama (he was in the What's Wrong with Secretary Kim drama) is very good. he's AMAZING, i cried for him. he's great. love him.
-Even Those Who Don't Like Romance Dramas Love It
I get really bored with just Romance. This drama actually has sooo many funny moments. I sometimes look at a Rom Com and think "where the hell's the com part? did it jump off a cliff?" but this one didn't miss out. you really love the couple
on top of that, it's super duper suspenseful. How the personalities appeared, when they'll appear, it's all so much suspense. They do so well with revealing it in a way that blows your mind.
EVERYTHING ALSO MAKES A TON OF SENSE AT THE END, MINDBLOWING FOR REAL
I recommend not leaving comments on (one of the buttons on the top row of the video screen, top right, right across from the comments) cause viewers love to give spoilers. I got spoiled a lot. Don't read comments on dramabeans recaps and ish. It'll ruin it for you.
Negatives:
Hwang Jung Eum in the beginning, and throughout the drama might get kind of annoying for you cause she focuses on the rom part more than the suspense until the very end, where she gets pulled into the mix.
Relationship part might annoy you.
You might not like it when a certain hot personality appears, or you might love it, idk but the entire audience loved him. (I fell in love with a certain 17 yr old brother, he appears l8r on, he gets a whole ep to himself. youll know. he's hot. glasses. )
There's really no negatives I can think of, it's so good.
STILL THOUGH TURN COMMENTS OFF IT RUINED EVERYTHING SO MANY TIMES. DON'T EVEN TURN IT ON TO CHECK IF EVERYONE'S RESPONDING TO A MOMENT CORRECTLY, IT'LL RUIN YOU JUST DON'T
ALSO THE SUBBERS DID SUCH A GR8 JOB, THEY SUBBED IT SO WELL, YOU GRAMMAR NAZI'S WILL BE SO PROUD CAUSE SOME DRAMA SUBBERS ACTUALLY ARE AN ACTUAL MESS BUT THESE GUYS AREN'T THANK YOU 7 DIMENSIONAL TEAM!!!

Story wise, I think this drama has an interesting story. The writer is so creative to think of this kind of story. Although the story is rather complex, I find myself enjoying each episode. I fall in love with every character and really symphatize each and every one of them. The flow is not fast nor slow; I think it is perfect.
Acting/Cast wise, Ji Sung is superb. Amazing. Excellent. Perfect. I don't think I could express my respect for him. He played various characters in this drama and he did it perfectly. I always see him as a different person every time he played a different personality; I can see how depressed Yo Seob is, how annoying Yoo Na is, how broken Se Gi is, how fragile Do Hyun is. I have nothing but praise for Ji Sung. Besides Ji Sung, the other actress and actors also did a great job portraying their character.
Music wise, I love the main ost. It really makes me feel the emotions the characters are feeling better. And, it is the kind of music that you can unconsciously hum and think of everytime you hear the word 'Kill Me Heal Me'.
However, in terms of rewatch value, I don't think it is an enjoyable drama to be rewatched. I tried rewatching this drama before but I find myself not enjoying it as much as I did when I watched it for the first time. Maybe it is because Kill Me Heal Me has a complex story so you feel satisfied only by watching it once. Moreover, since Kill Me Heal Me involves some 'mystery' and plot twist, you don't really feel the thrill of finding out the mystery and plot twist when you watched the drama for the second time (u know the twist already).
Overall, I am satisfied with this drama. As a psychology major student, I highly recommend this drama for people who are interested in psychological dramas. I think this is one of the best psychological dramas :D

Like connected puzzles, you will become a cooler picture, with the name of Cha Do Hyun.
A heartbreaking and beautiful story, Kill me, heal me, tell a story of Cha do Hyun, who had DID, struggle to remember his painful childhood memories with secret help from a female psychiatric, Oh Ri Jin, who was also the key to his memories. This is a realistic and emotional story. It was very told and detailed. The show slowly unravelled small missing pieces to his past that pull me in for more. And kept me guessing till the end. The song 'auditory hallucination' was equally beautiful and sad.
The cast did an amazing job. Watching them make my heart smiled as well as ached. They portrayed their roles beautifully, especially Ji Sung protrayed Cha Do Hyun and other six personalities brilliantly. They really seem like different persons.
Kill me, heal me is an emotional masterpiece that is undoubtedly unforgettable.

this drama has made it to my top 3. I cannot believe I put it off for so long. This was a treat to watch and I'm said to hear that it did not get the ratings it deserves in Korea. But oh well, we live in a global age so I'm pretty sure the international recognition makes up for itSince KMHM and healer have some similarities, I'll go ahead and say I loved this more than healer. With healer, there were times I felt my interest dwindle, when my attention would wander. KMHM kept me hooked. I know some people did not like the many flashbacks but I did not mind them (I loved goblin and that had soooo many flashbacks) in fact, every time the show revisited the past, I would find myself noticing details I hadn't before. How even the simplest of phrases uttered by our leads had so much more to them. I loved that particularly.
I watched (and dropped) Secret fairly recently. I did not like the plot, I thought it was boring and the characters were unlikeable (to me at least). But I could not deny that the leads had chemistry and that their acting was top notch.
In Secret, it was Hwang jung eum who captured my attention. But in KMHM it was ji sung. By this I don't mean that his acting wasn't good in Secret or that her acting wasn't good in KMHM. It's just that in secret we saw more of the female lead's emotional scars which automatically gave her more to work with. While in KMHM, ji sung had to play 7 people so obviously my attention remained on him. But hwang jung eum held her own and I loved her in this show too.
Cast was amazing. Story was amazing. I'm playing the ost on loop. Shin se gi and cha do hyun were charming and I loved watching them struggle with each other. Company politics was in the background which is how I like it. Not once did I get bored, no episode felt like it was a mere filler. I was hooked from beginning to end.
So why not a 10? This is a close 10 but there were two things that bothered me a little
Firstly, there was no need to show that Oh ri on had feelings for Oh ri jin. I loved the bond these step siblings shared and I felt that ri on having feelings for ri jin only added needless complications to that beautiful bond. It had no relevance to the plot and seemed like a forced attempt at creating a second lead (wasn't required since we had shin se gi, that lump of appeal lol)
And secondly, I preferred the scenes when the FL would let her tears flow silently with the occasional sniffle. When she would wail-cry, I felt the scene didn't have have the same emotional touch. It was okay to show her wailing for a few seconds and then mute the rest, so that the viewers could see the agony on her face. But it kept going on and on and on....
Those are the only things that bothered me
Other than that, this show is prettu terrific and I would recommend that anyone putting it off for whatever reason should watch it immediately.

Every kdrama fan ahould watch this
It’s one of those classic K-dramas that you have to watch at least once in your life. It’s not just popular — it’s timeless. The acting is on a completely different level, with every emotion delivered so naturally that it doesn’t even feel like acting. The characters pull you in from the very first episode and never let go. You laugh with them, cry with them, and grow with them. It’s storytelling at its finest. And the OST? Pure magic. Every song fits so perfectly that it feels like it was made just for those exact moments. The music lingers with you — even after the final episode, you’ll still find yourself replaying the soundtrack and remembering specific scenes that made your heart ache or smile.
This drama has its own soul — it’s emotional, poetic, and unforgettable. A true masterpiece that sets the standard for what a K-drama should be.

Story wise the drama was pretty good, but at some point (think it was around episode 12 or something) i thought to my self: what more kan they do with this? I think they could have made this show a few episodes shorter, because some episodes are filled with stuff that dosen't move the plot forward at all.
i think this is a personal thing, but i didn't really like the characters. i found some of them annoying, like Oh Ri On . And I found the whole twin brother kinda being in love with his sister fucked up. This is actually something that ruined the show quite a bit for me. But i did like the different personalities.
But the biggest problem i had was the innacurate display of a mental illness like D.I.D. I Know that it is drama and that i shoulden't expect much from it when handelig this theme, but it was quite dissapointing. I believe when handeling things like this, you should display it in a propper way. Not necesseraly in a serious and boring way, but diferent from this.
It did have a ton of funny bits that cheered up the quite dreary story at times, which i enjoyed.
Something i have to abselutely praise is the actig in this show. Obvioussely the actig of the main character Cha Do Hyeon played by Ji Sung, his acting was outstanding. Seeing him handle 7 different roles, and changing so quickly, as well as being so convinsing was incredible. The chemestry between Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum was also great.
The music in the show was quite good, i ended up singing the main song all the time after watching this. The change from soft volcal singing to ruffer rapping in this song suited the whole of the drama quite well. they could have had a few more songs to the soundtrak.
Personally i woulden't rewatch this drama that often, probeny because i diden't connect enougth with the characters to watch it over and over.
This drama is a good one, i did enjoy it in the end and it was exiting to find out about the past of these characters, and the plot twists was quite intriguing. I would probably recomand this to others.

Ji Sung did not disappoint. He portrayed each personality exceptionally well with true, solid distinctions that made it obvious who he was in a believable way.
Hwang Jung Eum was surprisingly good and Park Seo Joon was a fun plus to the story.
Acting was overall enjoyable and actors in general were well cast.
In regards to the plot, I wasn't too impressed. I didn't dislike the drama, but there were some loose ends that weren't thoroughly resolved in the end and some of the plot devices are a bit overused in the K-drama world of today and therefore, unbelievable/predictable, lacking the impact they were meant to inflict.
What kind of fell flat to me was the ending. I think that the bad guys were written pretty black-and-white for the first 3/4 of the story and then in the last 2 or 3 episodes they are all of a sudden more complex beings and not all bad. This didn't flow well to me because the shift was very abrupt and inconsistent with the rest of the drama.
I think something else that was lacking from the ending was the relationship resolution between Do Hyun and his first cousin. It was implied that they would eventually have a big scene together fighting or whatnot, but it never happened, which left me wanting for something more. It was implied that they had a close relationship as children and that it needed to be mended as adults, but they barely had any scenes together throughout the whole drama. Which brings me to wonder, was it really necessary to include the cousin as a "villain" who was relatively harmless compared to the bigger demons Do Hyun was coming to terms with?
On the plus side, this drama had WAY more birth secrets than I thought it would AND I was genuinely surprised twice, which is a good thing. XD
Anyways, Kill Me, Heal Me is a decent drama and I understand how it became such a huge mainstream drama, but it personally lacks that extra umph that gets me to weep and rejoice with the characters. Honestly, I think that this drama gets all the attention as being a "must-see" because it's one of the few that deals with mental illness as the main plot device, which is good, don't get me wrong (mental illness is definitely under-represented in media and *should* be recognized), but just because the drama is addressing a minority concept doesn't mean that it's automatically amazing.
Kill Me, Heal Me has flaws, just like every drama, and for me personally, the great moments of this drama did not outweigh it's shortcomings for me to glaze over the flaws. What kept me watching was Shin Se Gi (he was my favorite character) and the small comedic moments sprinkled throughout (especially through Ahn Yo Na). And for those of you who are wondering if this is a romantic comedy - I wouldn't consider this a romantic comedy. It is much more of a melodrama - there's a lot of well-deserved crying and emotional outbursts in the second half of this drama that shifts the genre significantly to me.
Oh! And I would really like to add that while Hallucination the OST is AMAZING, the instrumental piece that sounds like a circus' theme song is TERRIFYING and every time it came on, I desperately hoped that it would shut off. XD

The story takes off sprinting and is instantly captivating. As each layer of the puzzle is peeled off, we get deeper into the intrigue and family secrets. I enjoyed the way the story was told, we're shown a man whose mind is playing tricks on him and controlling his life in a very real sense. The mental illness DID ( dissociative identity disorder) is shown in a compelling way. This drama also has the issue of fate or destiny between the two main leads, they have an intertwined past and meet in the present in the right circumstances to enable them to solve the mystery of their childhood.
The love story is inevitable and I must say it didn't capture my interest too much, the chemistry was off in my opinion; Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum had much better chemistry in Secret.
The acting in this is very good. Hats off to Ji Sung for bringing his seven persona's to life in such an authentic and heart wrenching way, he is an amazingly intuitive actor.
Hwang Jung Emu held her own and provided some much needed levity in this story; I did feel at times that she was a bit shrill and didn't inject her character with enough nuance.
I also really enjoyed Park Seo Joon, he was wonderfully conflicted and I especially like the way he resolved his inner conflict unlike other second leads, he gave up on his unrealistic dream of being in love with his stepsister and instead became a strong support for both her and her new love.
Kim Yoo Ri's role is negligible, why was she even there? It was a waste of a decent actress, they could have fleshed out her character a bit more, the same goes for Oh Min Suk, his character fell flat and there ultimately wasn't much to him.
I think this drama should have just had the standard 16 episodes because it began to drag in the later episodes, I found myself wanting it to end, and the incessant flashbacks didn't help matters either.
I loved a few tunes in the OST especially "Auditory Hallucination" it's a great song
I gave this drama an overall score of 8, and I am unlikely to rewatch it, but I did enjoy it enough while I watched it.
