I've seen this story line in every single show imagined. Whether it's Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean or Japanese, it's no different and I'm never going to crush it because it's my absolute favorite of all time. I thoroughly enjoyed this one surprisingly because I'm not a huge fan of Mike but I'm a HUGE fan of the FL that played Taliw, she's amazing and wonderful and I enjoy her in everything I watch. I like the love for the family, I like the bonds but the only thing is I understand why this show usually has 2nd seasons because the ending is always so rushed; between this one and the original with Ariel Lin, they put the 2 seasons combined which is fine but it was just so fast at the same time, that was the downfall. But overall, I enjoyed it, I always do.

The drama as a whole follows the key points from the original story - even the parts that I don't like :-) If you've ever watched Itazura na Kiss you will know what I mean, but I knew I had to through this angst before I get to the ending.

The characters in this story acted like how I wished they would have in the other adaptations. Tenten was not as stoic so I understood his emotions more. Taliw was not so comical and exaggerated but still showed how much she liked Tenten and she had the coolest group of friends. King was so sweet and so in love with Taliw but not in an irritating way unlike other adaptations. I thought Turbo was going to be annoying throughout the show but turned out to be quite adorable.

All in all I enjoyed this show, there were a lot of cute moments. Rewatch? Yes, probably all because of Mike Angelo and his blonde hair.

My favorite adaptation

This is the 4th version I have seen [previously seen Playful Kiss (Korean adaptation), Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo (Japanese adaptation), Miss in Kiss (Taiwanese adaptation)] and I have say this is definitely my favorite. While the other three have stayed truer to the manga series "Itazura na Kiss," I felt this version made both Naoki (TenTen in this Thai version) and Kotoko (Taliw) less extreme versions of themselves. TenTen remains a cold, genius-level student but he has a gentle side that's apparent even in the first episode. Taliw is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she is surrounded by her small group of loyal friends who are protective of her. Her insights in this version were spot on.

How this adaptation differed in positive ways (IMHO):
- kept the house destruction event believable [not an insect-related lab mishap (Miss in Kiss), 2.0 earthquake that destroyed the house (Playful Kiss), a small meteor hitting the house (Love in Tokyo)].
- made Kinnosuke (King in the Thai version) a lovable character. He was devoted without being stalker-ish and supportive in the most loving ways.
- although Naoki's Mom in the other versions was so extreme that she played a caricature and was a riot, I could see why Naoki felt he had to leave the house to figure out what were his Mom's decisions and what were his decisions. TenTen, on the other hand, had Mom Kaew who often insisted on her way, but they also negotiated. She also knew how to apologize and show her love for him. She never showed up at school and plastered the bulletin boards with dating rumors nor arranged his wedding without this knowledge. I felt that TenTen left the house partly to allow Taliw to rely less on him and to figure out what she could do on her own.
- Taliw did follow TenTen around to a certain degree, and TenTen encouraged this with respect to choosing their college degrees. But Taliw had more of a backbone, esp. at the end of episode 19.
- TenTen's and Taliw's back story in this adaptation was precious. I absolutely loved it.

I know many people prefer a version truer to the manga series, and I truly enjoyed those too. Having seen 3 of them already, I was ready for this version. I'm thrilled to have found this. The main leads had GREAT chemistry. Mike Angelo didn't have to shed a lot of tears to convey his emotions but I could feel his uncertainty and sadness. He is even more gorgeous without the platinum blond. I loved that he and Aom sang the "Kiss me" OST single.

TLDR: Highly recommended!

Something Different

I've watch all the itazura na kiss versions even the anime but honestly speaking I still love the Japanese version I love Miki on how the way she portrays kotoko and that version has 2 seasons. But on this version of Thai's, I still love it because they gave it a twist the we never expected we see a much lively ML and tougher FL. I love the chemistry between them but the ending was kinda short 😢 I wanted to see some romantic scenes tho but yeah if you're a fan of itakiss you must watch this as well 🥰

Should you? Would you? Could you?

You should watch this one (YES! )
You would recommend this to others. (YES!)
You could watch this again. (YES)

This is my very first Thai drama and I was impressed. I have seen all the versions of this one and I must say this is the best of all. The characterization for me is very important in every drama that I see and I loved the way each character has been well defined here. The other versions don’t show the girl as having much of a backbone but this one goes beyond that and more. The male lead is shown with a back story to his dislike which somehow endears us to him. I love the byplay of emotions between them. I absolutely loved the family which rocks. The mother is such a fun character while understanding both their predicaments. King’s character is too loveable and one ends up feeling so bad for him. And I loved the fact that they have given it a fitting end – not just an abrupt happy ending but a good half hour of happiness. Highly recommended!

It Hit Me in the FEELS!!!

Now, I'm a HUGE fan of the storyline my first one being the Korean adaptation and then the Japanese and so on and so forth, but this is by far the best telling in a live action and I think in my opinion Kaoru Tada would've been extremely satisfied with how Thailand did their adaptation of the series. The way that he wasn't as stand-offish his, the backstory to their love. Taliw/Kotoko wasn't as annoying, I feel like she couldn't have been anymore pure in the show which hit me in the feels even harder. And TenTen/Naoki I was happy at the softer approach the gave him. His heart I knew was only for Taliw. And it showed. The show had me laughing and crying through the good and the bad. I loved how the mom in this one had a backbone where the others I felt were a little too passive and let their kids walk all over them, she had the spirit of my mom in her. Everything about this one was pure, unique and lighter than the other ones and showed more heart. I wished they did a second season. The fact that it made me cry!!! It takes a lot for a song, or a show, or a movie to bring out the waterworks in fact only Disney has been good at doing that dirty work. But the cast was amazing, the chemistry with everyone it seemed so genuine, the storyline and the direction it took was by far the best, the music was great. There really wasn't anything wrong with it. I'd watch it again, just to cry all over again. I think the author would've been proud. I was.

spoiler ahead!

i've watched the original version of Itazura na Kiss and i skipped all the remake. i decided to watch this Thailand version because the rating is high. i can say i like this one a lot more than the original!

the FL did not over cheerful, over clumsy, over excited for all things and she has more self esteem, more natural. the FL in original version sometimes make me cringe but not this one. even tough Taliw seem childish and naive but she is more mature in some aspect than Tenten, at least she know her feeling and being straightforward about it. i like all about Taliw! especially when she makes Tenten speechless in cute way!!

I like how the ML in here not so perfect like the original. he still can't win over her mom in arguing! he is smart but he still just a teenage boy who is curious about anything, like when he play with the pink bra. LOL. the one thing that i hate about him is when he can't be straightforward about his feeling. he says he still not sure about his feeling but he already kiss her many times!! he does not reject or put some distance to the girl even tough he know she has feeling for him. he only reject her after she ask him directly!

i really like the second male lead, King! he is so nice and caring. i really hope Taliw and King still be friend. and i hope King will find happiness too T_T.

For someone who has watched all the versions of Itazura na Kiss, I find Kiss Me refreshing. It has less of the stupidity of the girl and the guy shows more feelings. I kept raving about how good Mike was here that I almost forgot how genuine Aom's acting was too. It's sweetness that you can "feel", never an awkward scene. Even when TenTen hits Taliw's head with a pen, you can feel the love coming from him. It's just so adorable that I've been watching it for the Nth time now. They may have strayed a little from the original story but it's a welcome change.

I LOVED this drama... In other versions the girl was so dumb and acting out a lot. It wasn't cute. In this version you can still like both leads because He isn't as mean as the other versions and she is so cute. Mike and Aom work great together! this is the best out of all of them I believe

I'm sorry but I can't understand how this adaptation is so popular with people.

I understand that it was an adaptation, but did so many things have to change? Heck, this feels like a completely different story and not an adaptation at all.

Mike was by no means a smart boy, in fact, most of his attitudes had no logic or motive. And Aom, his character is really disappointing. Many say that her character was a tenacious girl and that she didn't let him play with her, but from my point of view, it was not like that at all.

And the boy who was doing Kin chan, suddenly disappeared in the end. I really got bored and it was very disappointing.

I would not recommend it at all.

Favorite Show of ALL TIME!!

Storyline:
Out of all the Tsundere shows out there, and I have watched a lot, this is by far my favorite one and it depicts a much more healthy relationship than most other tsundere shows. It gives the watcher all the of the best parts of cheesy romantic shows!
Especially compared to the Korean and Japanese versions I prefer this show and have watched it multiple times because the plot is so much more fulfilling. Although I am a Tsundere ML lover it always irks me how unrealistic the relationship development is. The FL has literally begins to like the guy after one 'nice' action which imo is dumb. But in Kiss me Thai they develop a friendship first, whilst it is a rocky one they both have each other's best interests at heart which is SO SWEET! I don't want to include spoilers but their relationship really develops and they realize that they have a deep connection far beyond what they could have ever imagined from their first meeting.

Acting:
AOM AND MIKE'S CHEMISTERYYYYY. There is a reason they have been in more than one show together, I'm just saying. Aom is so perfect for the role she plays in this show, she is kind and bubbly, while also being a complete airhead at times. Mike has his cool guy vibe but he also shows a softer side.
ML's mom is also really great I loved her and FL's Dad as well. The parents friendship was so funny and cute. I want to be like them when I am older.

If you watched Mischievous Kiss, Playful Kiss, or even any of the Meteor garden/ F4/Boys over flowers shows you will love this show and I hope you love it more than those other ones. WE STAN HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS!!

Kiss Me is just one of many, many takes on Kaoru Tada's manga, Itazura na Kiss. As of this post I have watched four versions completely: the anime version, Playful Kiss (Korean), Love in Tokyo (Japan, 2013), and Kiss Me (Thai). I also kind of watched It Started with a Kiss and its sequel on TV but didn't really take it seriously because I was very young when it was aired here in the Philippines. Anyway, I have been long exposed to Thai movies, but Kiss Me is my first exposure to lakorn (Thai drama).

The base story is the same, however, among all the adaptations, this Thai version was the one that I could not predict in terms of what would happen next. Kiss Me was the most off-grid version that I really didn't know how to compare it with the others. It didn't follow the original plot blindly that it created its own charm. If you, reader, have watched all the other adaptations of Itazura na Kiss except for this one, give it a shot.

As for acting, I'd say for the series in general that this is the most serious adaptation that I have seen. Also, both main characters are given equal opportunities to show their points of view. First off, Tenten (Naoki) is given a soul by Mike Pirath and he is actually seen in a whirlwind of emotions—different from the robot-like Naoki character I have seen in the past versions. His backstory with Taliw (Kotoko) is able to back up why he is more human than the other portrayals. However, even if Tenten is now seen with emotions, I am not totally swayed by his acting in some parts (like when he's crying or he's reflecting on what he's done, for example). Second, Taliw is not the same desperate masochistic Kotoko character—she actually is stronger and has power over Tenten (see Episode 20)! Third, originally annoying characters are lovable characters now. You definitely won't hate the presence of King (Kin-chan) and Ma Kaew (Tenten's mom) also doesn't have a crazy stalker-like personality. In fact, at some point I kind of favored King over Tenten. Fourth, the cast was chosen carefully and I am confident that the actors really deserved their roles.

I am giving the music a high score because I am at loss for several days with the songs in my head! Aside from the tunes that can be remembered easily, the lyrics fit the situations of the characters so well. I am actually looking for more ways to listen to the OST aside from YouTube (I just can't find them anywhere, or maybe it's because I can't read Thai). But hearing Aom and Mike singing the songs—just wow. I fell in love with their chemistry again (besides the acting).

Because of it being TOTALLY off-grid, I am very glad to repeat watching this if I have time, to memorize all that happened. It deserves a spot in my long-term memory, just like how I lived my childhood with Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu (Hana Kimi Taiwan).
