I came across to this one searching for another BL series but ended up in this movie on Netflix and being curious while reading the plot since I really love thriller.

The movie was weird, and has a unique plot but I could say it is worth watching especially those who love thriller..

Yes, I am saying it is a thriller but in the end, I end up crying.Well, i have shallow tears for sure but I feel them. It shows love in different kinds and character.

The acting is pretty great. I did not expect Fluke to act the way he did as Ive seen him act on BL Series with shyness and sweet character.

I love "Night's" eyes.. Its red which I imagine it as being fierce for a vampire character but it's innocent.

Over all for me it is a good movie and I love the soundtracks. I would not rewatch it though not because it is not worth rewatching but I would love a remake for a much more in-depth thrills for this movie.

So my overall feeling for this movie was ok. I knew there were some hot and heavy scenes going into it but I was not expecting the cringe-worthyness of them all. As a fan of Fluke I was looking forward to seeing him in something a little more serious and less light-hearted and this definitely hit the nail on the head. While the story was interesting and different it just seemed to go no where. I was not a fan of the storyline and how they seemed to rush through Nights background. All in all it was an ok movie but one with an open ending which made me feel like it was incomplete. I was definitely unsatisfied with the way they played out the story and felt they could have done so much more with the theme. I would recommend watching it but it’s not something that I will rewatch in the future.

I think the story was creepy and dark overall which is something i loved, wine(fluke) he did really well in his pyschopathic character.
Night gave a spooky and sexy kind of vibe which brought the movie a certain kind of aesthetic feel. But the ending doesnt do justice to movie though.
Did wine die?
Did night become a ghost ?
How come they let him carry a guitar into prison ? Lol that's just my weird mind speaking anyway
If you like a dark story with thriller feels
I think you would like this film. It was good .

Ok, when I saw that Fluke was in this, because I loved him in UWMA, I was like, "I need to watch this." I liked the beginning , but after the first few minutes I started to feel different about this movie. When the guy, (don't remember his damn name) tells Wine that Boy wants to meet him in the "abandoned" building, I felt like Wine should've known. I also didn't like Wine and Night's relationship that much. I get it, he's a vampire, which wasn't that hard to believe because of the eyes, but wow. It was an instant relationship, almost. Within 3 minutes of meeting Night, Wine is already offering up blood, like damn.
I did like the different aspect of Wine being completely psychotic. That was great. But the fact that he was so willing to get blood for Night, I just, idk.
The ending also confused me, quite a lot. But that is all I will say, in this spoilery review.

Just NO NO

Hmmm… what should I say…. The story is unclear
Is it a vampire thriller fantasy story? No, because Night is a human who only able to lives by drinks human blood… for no reason explained, not even a fantasy rare disease was created by the writer to explain the situation.
Is it a psychopathy thriller crime story? I doubt it because even though Wine shows no remorse while torturing Tee and killing Boy, he shows sadness when Tee rejected the food. Is it because of bad inconsistent acting, or because the actor himself didn’t understand his character clearly... because it is unclear?

I think the main issue is because the writer confused about what he wanted to write. If it is a vampire fantasy, it has to make Night as a vampire instead.
If he wanted to make a crime thriller, he has to give more focus on the torture and killing process, Night can be an imaginative/unreal character created by Wine’s mind.
Why does Wine chasing Tee even though he already has Boy? What makes Wine so obsess to Tee? Who is Night? Where does he come from? What kind of disease he’s suffering? Where did he get that disease and since when? What makes Wine loves Night so much until he is willing to kill the man that he loves and his boyfriend? Is Night gonna be dead? The ending makes me feels like Night is an unreal character? What the meaning of bloody guitar left alone in jail?
Everything is just misty.

I am not having too much hope that this movie will have at least close level with Criminal Minds. I just hope it makes sense.

One thing that's for sure is that this is not your average boy's love movie. If you're looking for something lighthearted, or cutesy, or even just emotional, this is most definitely not the movie for you. (Especially if you're a newbie BL fan)

Although there are some light moments, Red Wine in the Dark Night is really a dark, erotic, and twisted movie about love and obsession. (In yaoi terms, one of those psychological mangas that you can't seem to stop reading aha!). There's just something so enticing about how twisted and f-ed up it is, as horrible as it sounds.

In my opinion, I believe that the goal of this movie was to portray the complexity of love, how it can be used for manipulation, how it can be taken for granted, and how it can lead to obsession or that "I would do anything (i mean literally anything) for you" trope. And this is quite clear in Wine (Fluke) and his relationships, most especially with Night (Fuhrer) the vampire he oh so loves.

The flow of the movie always manages to leave you thinking "What the hell am I watching?", not to mention how intense the kissing is in this movie during the more erotic scenes (The sex isn't necessarily explicit though).

However, I just felt like the story flow could have been better, I don't know, I just felt like some parts of it moved too quickly, or maybe it was the director's intention? Or am I just looking into this movie too much? (lol)

The acting was good, but Fluke (Wine) really stole the show as the main character. The other actors fell short at some moments, but their acting was pretty solid.

Overall, it's a good/okay movie if you like those "Deep" movies that gets you thinking a lot after it ends. A lot of people think this movie is weird, and yes it is, but it's weird on purpose and if you do watch this, you really gotta take note of all the details while watching it and piece it together yourself because you may just have a different interpretation of this movie! Because, I have my own theories of the story, but of course, I won't spoil it in this review hehe~

Wow they wasted no time getting into the "action" lol. This movie was interesting to say the least. I definitely enjoyed it and had the feeling of anticipation trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Wine is definitely mentally ill and I still have some questions about the reality of it all. As this is a BL movie I was ready for a tragic ending, but this plot twist has something else in store. I like a good supernatural theme here-and-there and it felt well done. The music set the tone well, although for me not overly memorable.

I LOVE LOVE Fluke (and really that's an understatement). I first watched him in Until We Meet Again (his most recent work) so going back and watching his earlier works has been honestly a thrill. He really did a good job in this movie and his acting has only improved. It's no wonder that he can play such an emotional role so well since he's had plenty of practice over the years. And honestly he's just so cute, which I won't lie makes some of the sex scenes unsettling because he seems so innocent. Fuhrer did an amazing role as Night. I felt he portrayed all the emotions very well and I definitely felt the sense of loss/confusion.

Look, I'm not going to get too much into continuity errors (anyone with a high school level background in science would know that blood would coagulate in those bottles but I digress lol) and anything can happen in these cinematic universe's especially when you're dabbling in the supernatural. Overall I would recommend this movie especially if you love BL and/or Fluke as much as I do.

It really depends on what you're looking for

I think the general feeling about this movie for everyone is that it's weird. And it is, and I think that's the charm of it.
The first thing I felt about it is how it has a Let The Right One In vibe, which is very good because it's one of my favorite vampire movies ever - it's quiet and slow but it's so, so creepy.

Not everything is good, of course - I really think this movie could be sooo much more, there are some parts that are a little bit non-intentionally confusing, the pacing for some parts are kind of not in tune with the rest of the movie, it's like it tries to be conceptual but it ends up just being not great.

But I think the best thing in it is the subtle things. How it deals with Wine's emotional dependency on being loved, at the same time he's making Night/Nam dependent on him while manipulating other people for his comfort. How Tee's internalized homophobia led him to be manipulated. How Boy's devotion to Wine was solely based on material stuff and sex.

Of course I can't help but comment on Fluke's acting - I already loved him in Until We Meet Again and the only reason I wanted to watch this movie is precisely seeing him doing something more than a sweet boy. Fluke's capacity to look cute but creepy is amazing, you can see in his eyes everything about Wine's current emotions, be them good or bad.

Wine's slow descend to madness/detachment was one of the highlights throughout the movie - one of the scenes I loved the most was that the spark of sympathy he felt for Tee was actually just because he found another target to get blood from, even though he probably let Tee live because he truly loved him once (which didn't happen to Boy, the difference in treatment from Wine between the two is blatant).

Acting, directing, photography and OST are on point, I just think it really stops on being just 'weird' and not 'good'. You have to be really used to watching weird movies to actually like it. Still, can't take its credit from trying and actually even succeeding in some parts.

Takes a 2nd viewing to get into

Wasn’t that impressed the first time I watched it, but after watching it a second time it definitely grew on me and I actually kind of enjoyed it. Still not the best BL movie out there, but the acting is very good and it definitely gets points for originality. An interesting story, to say the least; although I do feel like the director could’ve gone just slightly bigger with the scenes and storyline since she had such an interesting plot to work with. I do realize that there was already so much going on, but something about it still felt just a little too “muted”, if that makes any sense. The love scenes were also decent. Again, not the best ones out there, but still pretty good. The original song that was featured in it was ok. A typical Thai song for a soundtrack, which is fine, but it didn’t stand out nearly enough to make me want to buy it. The incidental music was fine. It didn’t distract me from what was happening and wasn’t overly cheesy. Overall, everything was pretty average. Definitely not a bad movie, but not great either. I won’t be having it on repeat, but I’ll probably watch it every once in awhile.

wow, wow, wow.

honestly, i dont really write reviews for dramas/movies but this needed one.

i originally only watched it because fluke was in it and i found this movie a while ago, didnt know what it was, and found out fluke was in it last night while i was watching a UWMA crack video on youtube.

this movie was great, ill break it down.

cast/acting: the cast choice was amazing. they all played their part very well. nights acting was great, pin-pointing the facial expressions, bed scenes, etc. i loved flukes acting the most because in this movie hes like a... slutty serial killer and MAN did i enjoy that! the whole time i was like " YEAHH!! GET EM!! "

story: the over all plot was amazing as well. the fact that night couldnt consume any human food or any type of blood except for human. of course every show has their own take on vampires but you guys do you, im not here to judge but only to watch. :)
also with how wine found night was a good touch. at the beginning of the movie ( spoilers for the beginning lmao ) it starts off with wine sleeping with a man named tee which he has known for a long time and loves him very much. tee, according to himself, is not gay and just wanted intercourse with wine o just anyone but since wine is always around, tee chose him. tee's friends then decided to mess with wine and tell him that tee told them that he was gay and wanted to meet him at an abandoned building, where he meets night... so that was kinda coolio, yah know?

script: honestly, the scrip was pretty well written. could have changed a few words here and there but i liked it.

music: the song choices were picked well based on what was happening in the film. it was pretty quiet but dont wanna block the beautiful voices now do we? 555 ( ㅋㅋㅋ )

rewatch value: 8/10 [might rewatch but not sure]

overall: overall, good film... for real. if you like a mildly-intense, steamy, murderous film * holds out hands * here yah go.

Disappointing

I really had hight hopes when I saw the trailer to this movie, and was expecting something really good, but sadly this was such a major disappointment, that I am literally mad about this movie.

Firstly, and the one thing that got me, was how on earth you have a vampire with out FANGS?
Secondly, a vampire without special powers, I mean have you all seen Vampire Diaries? that is what you call a Vampire (Damon)
Thirdly, if this was meant to be a supernatual or a thriller they definately need to go do more research and find out how a vampire supernatural is meant to be!!

The acting was really bad and there was no flow whatsoever to this, for me it did not make any sense, and the movie name is really good, and gives you this major impression of an excellent movie, but sadly for me this was just terrible.

For starters this movie was really weird, but it's a good weird. Though I was angry at Wine the entire time (watch it a you will know why) and his smile bothers me for some reason. It's just really creepy to me.

The whole time I constantly wanted to smack Wine for *spoiler* playing 3 guys and *another spoiler* tying Tee and Boy up for blood.

And know for the ending. The ending is confusing and I have a few things on what the ending actually was. Either Wine actually died in jail because Tee was a snitch and told (I don't blame him) the police and friends what actually happened to him. At the end when Night said "You've been holding that for a long time" (something like that) and Wine said "I hope it would bring you back to me." (Close enough to what he said) so knowing he said that I think Night never actually came back yet because Wine was holding the guitar hoping it would bring Night back to him, but I don't actually know the ending is confusing like I said.

Overall it's a good movie is you actually think about the situation Wine was in. Wine didn't want Night to die, but he did take it too far to get blood.
