Second part of The Hate Trilogy by Sono Shion. Stories are not related but the main power of each story is hate.

Part of Sono's Hate Trilogy (with "Cold Fish"). Totally different than "Love Exposure", more depressive and dark.

Both movies have a very distinctive style. Both are good, but Hard Romanticker keeps you glued to the screen when Love Exposure fades after a brilliant start. Hard Romanticker is more violent, but on some parts very funny, if you have a certain sense of humor. However both are worth watching if you enjoy this kind of films.

Both deal with social issues in contemporary Japan, especially on the breakdown of family due to inter-generational conflict.

Both are about a religious cult that recruits people and their families. The main male leads tries to save the female main character from her family and the cult that holds them bonded by manipulation, cruelty and wile. Both Save Me and Love Exposure have a darker theme, the latter is a Japanese long film though, with romance involved.
