Doctors starts out great with a somewhat interesting premise. Somewhere halfway through, the story pretty much stalls. You don't get a clear idea where it's going and revolves around. The drama would definitely have benefitted from better writing as they could get more out of the actors and their characters. If you are a Park Shin Hye or Kim Rae Won fan you will probably find it easier to endure. The drama has lots of heart fluttering moments between Hye Jung & Ji Hong that will leave you smiling from ear to ear. Not a fan of one of the main characters? Perhaps it's better to drop the serie. The lighthearted feel isn't enough to keep you watching. There are better ones out there as the drama doesn't have the plot to carry its characters.

The cast is great. With a line-up containing the likes of Park Shin Hye, Kim Rae Won, Yoon Gyun Sang, Lee Sung Kyung as main roles it's disappointing to see that the story clearly doesn't do anything for them. The supporter roles were filled in quite good as well, with Kim Min Suk, Moon Ji In & Yoon Da In just to name some. It's the first time I liked Park Shin Hye's character as she has been playing a lot of weak female lead roles. Nice to see her change it up for once. She acts out the more serious, responsible side of Hyejung in a good way. Combining her new bad ass image + her usual emotional acting, it makes a great mix. Kim Rae Won's character, Ji Hong is almost a full 360 degrees from his last role in 'Punch' where he played a cold prosecutor. This role suited him as he gives off that nice & caring personality. Great acting from Kim Rae Won. Yoon Gyun Sang's part could have been bigger. Stated as a main role, he wasn't that influential but he wasn't a support character either. Somewhere in between. Contrary to his character Moo Hyul in Six Flying Dragons, who has a clear identity, Yoon Do fades away as the story goes on. He captured his character (personality) very well which only makes it sad that he became a victim of bad writing. Good to see that Lee Sung Kyung is expanding her horizon by trying out different roles. This girl is making her way into drama's. Steady performance, just not really fond of her character. A nice addition with cameo appearances from Han Hye Jin, Namgoong Min, Lee Sang Yeob etc.

The background music is beautiful and fits in nicely with the drama. Urban Zakapa, Younha and more complete the OST with great songs.

Doctors has a good beginning but after that the story seems dragged as it doesn't seem to progress. It's very shallow but you might want to keep watching if you love the actors. The story isn't written well enough to know what it's about but it's bearable to some extent. The development of the "relation" between Hye Jung & Ji Hong, the lighthearted moments and the music are one of the few reasons which makes the drama worth watching.

On a side note: The styling of Hye Jung (Park Shin Hye) & Seo Woo (Lee Sung Kyung) was on point. Loved their outfits. They looked great.

When I saw the trailer where Park Shin Hye plays a gangster doctor, I was ecstatic because it seemed like Park Shin Hye was finally breaking out of her "one personality" acting. However, that didn't last for long and she went back to her usual ways. It's not a bad thing, but being an avid drama watcher it gets pretty boring seeing the same "character". I really enjoyed the supporting cast and the side stories the most. It's probably the main reason why I didn't bail out. The development of the plot was extremely slow so that it can span out to 20 episodes, when the typical 16 would have suffice. Hence, there was a lot of filler episodes towards the middle of the drama. When dramas have so much potential and then it spirals down the drain. sigh. On the other hand, I am falling in love with Mr. "Husky" (Jung Yoon Do)! He is so cute.

I think I am being too generous by giving it a 10 but I loved this so much. I feel like this is not for anyone and I go into that when i talk about those certain turn offs for some people when I get into this. One final thing before I get into the review this is the first time that a k drama has had a OST where i wanted the English translation.

Story: The story of doctors is central around lives of doctors and the heartaches of of being being a doctor. Though the story felt it didn't really progressed at all which if that a big turn off then this is not going to enjoy this. I will say you mainly watch this for the romance which is like I feel that was the main reason you watch this drama.

Acting/Cast: When I was looking at preview and looking at the comments on the page of this drama I saw that this was a different role for Park Shin Hye with her always playing the innocent type of girl. Hye jung is nothing like that which I think she did well this was my first drama of hers I watched and i love to see more. Kim Rae Woon was great, this was not my first drama of his I sawed him in Punch and he was great in it.

Music: the Music was so perfect No way by Park Yong In & Kwon Soon il is the first song of a k drama I have ever wanted to look up the translated in English (which I never do but it was awesome). The second song It love was OK it was not anything special to me but i liked listening to it.

Overall/ Re Watch value: I definitely re watch this drama in a couple years once I feel it the right time.

I like how realistic this drama is. Very heartwarming drama about real situation in life, how to cope with sadness, anger, love, forgiveness. It contains life lesson. Beautiful story, love it so much! I can learn a lot while watching this drama. Sometimes people also have this kind of problems in life too and the pain is real. Life might not always be fair and we need to cope and face the situation ourselves. However, present and future are more important than our past, especially our loved ones who always support us, let's just focus on that :) coz we don't even have enough time in our life to hate, it's better to spend our time to love.

However, for some people they might find it boring hahaha. it does not have suspense at all that makes u super curious. For me, i don't really wait for the next episode nor i need to binge watch it, coz yes, it has slow plot, coz it's a drama that is about everyday life. So i just enjoy it every now and then until i finish it. but it's a wonderful ride.

Started out really great then a couple episodes in the middle got slow then they picked up. I wasn't realky a fan of Psh coz shes always annoying but the last couple dramas starting with heirs then pinocchio she did great and shes maturing in her acting too. The fight scenes in the beginning were awsome and there was no more. The show is mature meaning no crazy kids yelling and screaming it was serious too coz its medical.Dr hong is a hottie and he did great in his acting too. I think they should date. Yoon doo was great too i will miss him both in this and descendants of the sun.

Forget the tralier. honestly probability of dropping this drama is 50% if you choose this drama beacause of tralier. Tralier and park shin-hye deceived me.
The first episodes in the past are perfect but in middle you want to drop it. It is so boring in middle till end. I watched 3 last episodes in 2 hour. Really so boring for me.
If kim rae-won wasn't in this drama, this was in my dropped list in ep8.
The result is ( i hate medical drama forever )
I just recommended it for who love medical(60%) and romance(40%) in slow pace.

this is really a weird drama..I mean at least show some respect to the doctors. doctors open the skull and they have romantic moment with patient's life hanging...and medical mishaps happen all the time, in the end, doctors are humans too....story has really taken down drama for me...and this teacher-student pair doesn't look appropriate!!!!

Ultimate drama...the story is not only love story like others. This is the first medical drama I've watched & I'm really satisfied with it. Plot is great and the way they balanced personal & professional life of character is awesome. From starting to end story was progressed. Park shin hye's character is literally awesome . She is the main character and I just love her character. Kim Rae won was a mindblowing teacher & doctor of course. His character is also strong. I Love the lead couple. And supporting cast is amazing.
They will make you cry and laugh and you will fall in love with each character. Music is totally mesmerizing. Background score is suitable in every situation. The song No-way is so good. This k-drama was not all lovey dovey. But with a strong plot and good characters. It would be great if the length was short. If you want to watch a medical kdrama i 100% recommend it. ????????❤️

It's so frustrating because this drama had so much potential to become an all time favorite.

Let's to the good parts first

Acting/Cast
Whenever you see Park Shin Hye's name in a drama, you know emotions will run wild and it did. She was brilliant, and made viewers love her badass with a brain character because it was so believable. Kim Rae Won was fantastic; I actually thought multiple times if he is a real doctor because all his habits and mannerisms in the show looked like a real doctor's. The supporting cast was also one for the books, they all portrayed different doctors with different personalities but they still made us feel some sense of realism.

Music
OST was excellent. Each scene was packed with the right tune to sooth our ears and hearts.

Rewatch value
Contrary to many, I do believe the drama is rewatchable if you can get over the really really really weak........ (see bad)

The BAD
STORY
The show actually started really well. Showing us a bitchy Park Shin Hye who was nothing but trouble being turned good by her grandmother. It also introduced to us Lee Sung Kyung (the real bitch) and Kim Rae Won as a music-loving should-be-doctor. However, after the solid start, the drama went sideways from there. The main conflict of the show, Park Shin Hye coming to a prestigious hospital just so she could prove that her grandmother was wrongfully killed in an operation can literally be covered in 2-3 episodes. Instead, the director streched it out up to episode 19. Until now, I feel really disappointed that such a great cast was ruined with a really uneventful plot with a really stupid conflict.

My advice, if you have yet to see this show and want to see the quality of this show, watch episodes 1-6. After that, you can straight up jump to episode 20. Trust me, you'd be missing nothing and you'll only remember the good parts. Win-win situation

This show motivates to-- Get off your bed--and kick some a**!

I love this drama.

It is kind of oldish and the story has some cringy moments but the core, that the bad girl goes to become neurosurgeon is there.

This backbone is so inspiring.

How the Hye-jung was not stubborn and convinced in her teenage delusion but when she saw better opportunity for her life she took it and embraced it.

What a character. Persistent and loyal. Knows how to fight, is the most promising female neurosurgeon and gets the cocky doctor/teacher as a partner. Decade long friendship with a quirky friend who is her total opposite. Wow. My cozy drama for sure. Rewatched 3x. It is easy to digest.

Now to think about him. They had solid chemistry and his character had a playful writing. But meh I feel some other actor would have been fine in this role. Also teacher-student relationship was not a thing despite audience having a feeling that they are into each other in high school. Tad bit strange cos he really looks older than her. The main actress was the heart and soul of this drama. The antagonist, actress Biblee, phenomenal as usual.

Story is nice, sometimes cringe but always ultimately uplifting. I loved how honestly the main lead fell in love with medicine and how she repurposed her strength and anger with her upbringing.

If you like medical tv shows, after Hospital Playlist go for this one.

Funny, badass and sometimes even meaningful. But uplifting. Always uplifting.

Thanks for reading.

Review:Doctors (2016)

I like Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung in here she is so good at fighting and its just the first episode. I have never even seen her in a role like this before. So exciting and fun. Lots of actors in here that I have seen before so it must be good.

She has a lovely Nana Kim Young Ae/Kang Mal Soon [Hye Jung's grandmother] (ep.1-3)who loves her.

Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung has got the street smarts and her friend Lee Sung Kyung/Dr. Jin Seo Woo has got the brain who going to help her study. Their other friend is fun and friendly Moon Ji In/Chun Soon Hee [Hye Jung's best friend] but not as brainy as the other two. Chun Soon Hee becomes her friend for life.

Isn’t it sad when sometimes its only our grandma that loves us. All my growing up years my grandma was already old but she loved me the most. She carried me for miles on her back. She taught me how to ride a horse. I slept with her all the time and she just loved me. I miss her. She wasn’t beautiful but for me she had a heart of gold. Everything she did was for me. When she was 70 she was still riding her horse then she got bone cancer and died when she was 80.

She saved the first Lee Sung Kyung/Dr. Jin Seo Woo girls life but she caused her problems because of her jealousy. This would continue in their adulthood but Dr. Yoo Hye Jung had only gratefulness in her heart for Dr. Jin Seo Woo because she taught her how to study.

Park Shin Hye/Dr. Yoo Hye Jung a most remarkable, tallented and intelligent woman that started as a street fighting hooligan into an extraordinary neuro surgeon. Without help from others she worked her way up the hierarchy of doctors through sheer determination and guts. It was her experiences as a teenagers that transformed her from that hot tempered child to the caring, compassionate doctor. First her learning experiences with Kim Rae Won/Prof. Hong Ji Hong a clever, warm hearted and sympathetic teacher and the death of her kind and indulgent grandmother, Kim Young Ae/Kang Mal Soon [Hye Jung's grandmother] (ep.1-3, they were the ones that impelled her to change her life.

She was never close to her dad Jung Hae Kyun/Yoo Min Ho [Hye Jung's father] whom she blamed for the death of her mother. As a teenager he was cold and uncaring towards her so he reaped her anger, aloofness and indifference when she was an adult. She never wanted to be or tried to be close to him. This hurt him as he didn’t understand want he had done to her as a child. Reminds me of me and my youngest daughter. We are not close. She believes that I hurt her emotions as a child.

My recommendation for this drama, I enjoyed her lifestory and her growing love for the man who fell in love with her when she was so young. She was in his heart the moment she came into his life. He tried to run away from it but fate brought them back together 13 years later.

The filming and cinematology are outstanding, beautiful night shots of the city. The kissing scenes are delightful and the filming of them clear and well positioned. I love the scenes of them dancing in the rain, walking in the park and bike riding.

Outstanding acting from the actors and those two little sick boys(Go Woo Rim/Nam Hae [Ba Ram's son](Ep.13-14)and Jeon Jin Seo/Nam Dal [Ba Ram's son](Ep.13-14) stole my heart, so cute and talented.
