So much is packed into the 1st episode that i was not quite sure what to expect from this drama. By the second episode it was clear that City Hunter would be an epic revenge drama. Lee Min-Ho has been great in every drama that I've seen him in, and he doesn't disappoint as an action star. I loved his cool demeanor during fight scenes, and the fact that he still could come across as bad@ss in those pants.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch an action based drama when I started this one, but each episode ended with such great cliff hangers that I couldn't help but become a fan. The story had so many great twists that I wasn't bored once while watching. The cast was great! Kim Sang Joong is amazing as the father who raises him for revenge. Kim Mi Sook broke my heart as his mom. Lee Joon Hyuk was good because he was so annoying, and frustrating to watch as the prosecutor. Park Min Young was cute as City Hunters love interest, but she started to become less interesting during the last episodes. As an ensemble the cast was top notch.

I would recommend City Hunter to anyone looking for a highly addictive drama. I don't know that it would be as exciting when rewatched since suspense is such a big part of the story. For those who are worried about too much action, there are also many cute (though typical) romantic moments, and some humor. The one horrible thing about City Hunter is, in spite of an epic ending to all of the action, the way they resolve everything at the end is extremely disappointing. It almost seemed like they were setting things up for a 2nd season, and surprisingly, 20 episodes later, I was hoping for one.

This drama is really awesome!
At first the main cast is such a good choice!
Lee Minho is my favorie actor and he didn't disappoint me.
He really acted great and I wish I would see him more in such action dramas, I really liked it!
Also Park Min Young is such a good and beautiful actress!
The chemistry between the two was tangible. So I really enjoyed watching it.
Still this drama doesn't belong to my top 5, cause the end was such a cliffhanger. But still it's very nice.
So people you want to see some action where the boy protect his love as much as he can? And the girl even though the boy's life is dangerous, still keeps staying at his side?
Then watch City Hunter!

Ok Lee Min Ho is 1 of my fave actors & he did amazing in this action packed drama. The story was awesome, full of conspiracy & intrigue. The fighting scenes were done really well. Only 1 fight scene seemed weird b/c it was confrontation in 1 place then set up fight scene in another (in a basement or something like that). I really enjoyed the relationships that were brought to light from beginning to end. The concept of revenge is hard to deal w/ & this story deals w/ it very well. The ending left me wanting a little more from the romantic stand point, but over all I am happy w/ how things turned out. Enjoyed watching it & I recomend others watch it as well.

This is a very interesting and unique drama, not like other dramas which usually have two guys liking the same girl.
In this action drama, you'll get to see all of Lee Min-ho's best action acting, making the fighting scenes very realistic and very unique.
I really love how you can't tell the ending half-way and suddenly makes dramatic changes.
The ending is okayyy, the conflict is solved extremely well but you might not be impressed of the ending of the couple.
BUT THIS IS MY MOSSTT FAVOURITE KOREAN DRAMA EVER WATCH !
and honestly, i like it better than Dream high 1 and 2.
THIS IS A DRAMA NOT TO BE EVER MISSED !

Ok so it's not perfect, but what's so surprising about this series is how great it is from episode to episode. Never a dull moment! And I love the cast of actors - they all had such great chemistry together, whether romantic or just plain out intense-ness. Every scene sizzled when the two main GUYS were onscreen together. I found myself more and more anticipating the chase those two had going continually. I honestly think I loved the character of the prosecutor just as much as I liked the entire show.

Ok... I decided that I had to write a review for this one... Being my favorite Drama of all time... And the best drama I've ever seen... And the most intriguing love story I've ever witnessed... I think you get the point.

Story: Ok, i must admit the first episode was... weird. Not bad at all but i found myself having a hard time following the what the fuckery that was going on, but i get it after having seen the drama, again, for the seven billionth time, but as soon the second episode started, i was hooked. And i don't mean just-watching-it-in-one-sitting hooked. I not only neglected almost 24 hours of sleep, forgot to eat 4 meals, got sitting soars on my butt AND lived without cola for the entirety of the 24 hours (i am an addict). I also missed an ice-cream eating party with three of my friends where we were supposed to eat 30 liters of ice cream. 30. Liters!!! I hope you know how devoted i am City Hunter.

Acting: Lee Min-Ho and Park Min-Young were already some of my favorite actors (Lee Min Ho in Personal Taste and Park Min Young in Sungkyunkwan Scandal) and i already knew that they were good, but HOLY CRAP were they good in City Hunter. Around episode 4 i had convinced myself that the characters they portrayed were absolutely real. And they were not the only ones who did a great job; The supporting cast were equally as good as the main. Especially Lee Jun-Hyuk (The Prosecutor), Kim Sang-Ho (The Ajusshi) and Kim Sang-Jung (the "Father") blew me away with their performances.

Music: The Music was really good, and they seemed to know just when to play it, for the scene to really affect you.

Rewatch value: I've already seen it like a billion times. I know all the lines. And I don't even speak Korean. Need I say anymore?

Overall: I loved it. It was extraordinary in a way I haven't seen in a drama or anywhere else for that matter. I recommend it to everybody! Everyone. Haven't watched it? Go Watch it! Have watched it! Go watch it again, you know you want to.

Sidenote: In Danish (I'm from Denmark) Lee Min-Ho's name literally means Lee... My Hoe... Yeah... just thought i would put it out there.

So here's the thing with City Hunter. When it first came out I didn't want to watch it, because, come on! Lee Min Ho in an action drama???? You gotta be kidding me, he'll be Goo Joon Pyo forever, and will do things like Personal Taste. But then, it started popping up everywhere, and it like I couldn't avoid it, so I started watching the first ep but I got bored because, well it just didn't hook me up. And then like a week ago I was reviewing my drama list and I realized I had to watch it. So I started watching and loved it right away. The plot is amazing, it has great twists that you never exoect, although it does have a blind spot like between 5-8 episode where it gets really boring. The music is great, it fits perfectly with every scene. And the acting is really pretty good, although I gave it a nine because I think that Park Min Young doesn't act her part well, specially towards the end. Lee Min Ho's acting is really really great and I heard that he just got and award for it, he totally deserves it. And also, another good thing that I really enjoyed about this show is that the characters are REALLY well written. Every character has certain complex that you can watch throughout the show. And last but not least, I love that you really have no way of knowing how it's going to end, as opposed to your typical k-drama romantic comedy. I really enjoyed watching City Hunter, it surpassed like REALLY surpassed my expectatives, because I thought that it was gonna be just another kdrama, and it turns out it definitely WASN'T. For me, this a must see.

Let's just get right to it.

The story in itself had potential and could be a very successful drama, but oh lord how it could also go very very wrong. A drama focusing on the main plot itself could have gotten away with 10-12 episodes at most, but all the forced "romantic" scenes between the two main leads as well as silly (yet loveable) TVshop fillers forced the drama to an almost unbearable 20. It just really threw me off. The fillers got worse after about episode 8, and before that point I actually quite enjoyed the drama. It's just never a good thing when 3/5 of a drama are terrible.

The acting is pretty terrible for the most part. I don't want to mention any names (mostly because I can't remember her name), but the prosecutors ex-wife was terrible. Also talk about random character. Lee Jin Pyos character was rather cool, mostly because of his magnificent glaring. He really expressed his emotionless core well. Lee Yoon Sung ont he other hand, needs to work on his glaring skills. They were rather bland and not really convincing. And don't get me started on Kim Nana and Lee Yoon Sungs relationship. Just no.

Music was lovely most of the time. I just kind of wished they didn't have 4 versions of the 3 same songs playing over and over. Variation is good, people.

I don't think I'll ever rewatch this. It was a hassle at the end, and without good company I don't really think I would be able to stick it out until the end. I just.. no.

I'm giving it a 4 because while it wasn't good, it did entertain me for the first 8 or so episodes. Too bad it all went downhill from there.
