Waste of time
I was waiting for this Drama to watch only because of Dylan Xiong. I saw him in MY MR. MERMAID where he done the superb job.Story- The story was full of melodrama and was so complicated to tell in the review. Before watching the Drama I read some of the reviews which were not so good but I want to watch only because of Dylan Xiong and I never watched such Drama with melodrama genre and I regret it. In the starring it goes so smoothly but when the Yanzhao starts working in the company then it get so boring that I was about to dropped it but I also wanted to know what will happen in the end that's I why I completed.
Things I didn't like- They showed so much things or topic at one time only because of they want to increase the no. of episodes in my opinion. There's no need to expand the welfare kids problem. And also no need to show the photos of Xiomeng which was leaked secretly. No need to bring Dr.Xiao and Qiao Zhen together. No need to show the things which was done by Zi Tong against Xiomeng. Seriously no need for 46 episodes it can be short. After the death of their father , Yanzhao become so aggressive and tortured Xiomeng and I don't know why she become helpless , she was also the shareholders of their company so she has so many ways to use them but no she only cries and even when some good things happen then also she cries. And I also feel like ML and FL lead was not good at acting they doesn't show their emotions properly and which they showed that was so fake.
Things I liked- I liked the the secretary of Yanzhao and his efforts in the company and courting Sun Lingxi. I really like the character Jiang Ze and his efforts for persuading his father for not doing such things and also been always by the side of Xiomeng and feel her comfortable . And I would like to appreciate the acting of Xiaomeng's mother (Ye Si Rong ) as metal patient.
I also like the part of the birth Secret.
If you have so much patience and you also like these type of melodrama than you my watch this Drama. But if you are going to watch only because of the main leads than please don't watch it .
For me it is such a waste of time.

This drama was such a waste of time. After watching Pretty Man 2 I thought the chemistry between the actors was great. I didn't expect this drama to have such melodrama. It is really dramatic. I am a practical person and feel that after what Zhou Yan Zhao did to Zhou Xiao Meng she should have left him. I mean come on who does that. If the man you love tortured you would you do just stay with him. There is a thing called self-respect. You should know that. instead of watching it, it's better, you watch Pretty man S1&2 or My Mr. Mermaid. Was this review helpful to you?

A waste of time
So disappointing and one of the worst dramas I have seen in a long time. Too many episodes for a very poor story,could have been done in 20 episodes at most,I lost count of the number of times she said’ A Yan’ and cried it really gets on your nerves.It’s a shame, because the actors could have had a much better script, it didn’t show their best acting.
There is a lot of going back and reminiscing, which when repeated is boring, A Yan turns completely against Xiaomeng after being madly in love, he’s completely rude to her then in the next minute he’s kind to her, it’s all very strange and not really that well explained why he is like this… I kept watching in the hope that it got better,believe me it doesn’t….
After a couple of episodes I don’t think you would want to watch any more,just skip to the end,you won’t miss much.

As I watched their preety man2 and I liked their chemistry, So with this reason I decided to watch this drama.Drama start with good story but after the death of male lead's character's father the drama getting bored ,the male lead showed same expressions all the time ,sad and hatred and even he had some happy moments still it felt like it wasfake ,he is not able to show his expressions openly . His happy scene also look like dull not his only ,the lead actress had the same expressions all the time sad and sad even though she had some happy moments but they were all looked dull ,this drama totally sentimental one,this drama is so sad that their happy moments also not cover up .this time there is no spark in their chemistry. I liked the second lead male character more than him.

Shows human irrationality, but at times it feels aimless
1. The story is promising and makes me envy that kind of love and luck the leads have (as being rich kids), but the storytelling is very inconsistent. In a memory, Yan is shown visiting Xiaomeng in her room at a rainy night, and Xiaomeng's mother plays fool while noticing him, only to later try to force a sudden split after Yan's father catches him or the mother reports him (it's unclear which). I was so confused.2. The relationship between the leads as half-siblings is forgotten most of the time, or wrongly taken for granted storytelling-wise, but the holes are obvious for you to fill so I can see why they didn't even try to use that. However, it feels like a big gap in the plot and some missed storytelling opportunities.
3. The fact they call uncle and aunt all adults one on one can be confusing at first. It's also odd.
4. The story gets pretty bland and repetitive after Yan's dad dies. I get he gets suspicious and angry, but instead of showing a journey on the discovery, he just shuts himself down and she gets aimless. Yan's role in the company is almost all about the drama, and you don't even feel he's managing a humongous corporation.
5. Xiaomeng's evolution goes from bad to worse until she tries doing theater. That's so many episodes of her being pathetic that it's not fun at all. They tried to make her look incorruptible, and it's nice she's so pure of heart, but damn, give her some character and self-respect.
6. Yan is a complex character. He's still too young to deal with the company on his own plus the mystery of his father's murder at the same time. I get it. He just shuts down for so many episodes that watching the abuse feels like torture at some point. It would be nice if he discovered some of the truth on his own instead of just seeing the story unfold on its own.
7. Because of 5 and 6 the series feels far too long.
8. Xiaomeng's mother seems to have all the answers, but beyond ONE deed that helps Yan discover one secret, she's completely useless as a character and even decides to not say anything. That is so fricking frustrating! There was a lot of potential right there. Even she being "back to normal" doesn't feel too different from what she was before. It's ridiculous.
9. The friends are all okay but come on, it's like they didn't have any more friends than those that the plot wanted.
10. The Jian Qing side gets annoying as the lead actors seem like sitting ducks even after knowing right from the beginning he's the bad guy. Yan is warned from episode 1 from his dad, and yet he always plays dumb right until 3/4s of the drama, but still he does nothing really.
Overall its entertaining, but you have to suffer a bit to get to the end.

Could have done a lot more with less
WHY is this series 46 episodes? This would have been done way better at 20-24 episodes.This is a perfect example of over doing subplots and the building of secondary situations while dragging out the main storyline. The ML was tiring in playing over-the-top mean and then within his thoughts being tender. The FL was tiring in not speaking up for herself and allowing a lot of mistreatments to fester. They both (ML and FL) were going through an unnatural traumatic event. For the ML to go completely cruel to the FL when it was proven time and time again that she was clueless to everything was a bit much. The audience didn't even get relief from the on again off again mean/half-good ML until almost episode 30 and it was still a bit off. The drama length would have made more sense if it was broken up into about 3 seasons (15 episodes first 2 seasons ending with 16 final season) It probably would have landed a bit better instead of feeling like a Groundhog Day of mixed emotions, hurt and misunderstandings. ML and FL acting was okay. At times the chemistry seemed forced or off due to the off-putting character that was placed on ML. Probably will not rewatch...no need. OST was nice for the drama. I cannot stress enough that it would have been so much better 20 episodes less.

I watched this just because of the actors and their scenes, since their cute scenes were really heartwarming! When I say I watched because of the two, it simply means that I skipped all the business scenes, I won't re-watch it, but you can watch it once if you like the two leads ?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, WORTH IT!!
A melodrama lovestory that revolves hatred and revenge done by the ML. Since at the episode 3 until 30+ episodes I was really felt outranged towards him, everything he'd done to her are all hearthbreaking?. Her sincerity and goodness made its way to melt his frigid heart, and turned on the love switch again. The birth secret shocked me, especially the unexpected ending?. I was also persuade to the dramatic acting skills of the main leads up to the supporting roles. A highly appreciation to the FL's mother who act as a mental patient, she really gives justice to her role and somehow kinda childish?. Speaking of the chemistry, very natural????. I really find Lai Yu Meng's beauty captivating, I can stare her all the time❤. Xiong Ziqi's voice while singing their OST made me admire him also counted already his looks (new gege added to my list?).Was this review helpful to you?
Excessive mental and physical abuse
If this were real life and not a drama, BOTH ML and FL would be in a mental health facility!The FL obviously enjoys being physically and mentally abused - that really is a mental disorder, research it and you will find the FL depicted in the symptoms. The more he hurts her, the more she loves him. Ever wondered, why she does not just walk away, why she NEVER, not even ONCE sets any kind of boundaries at least to the physical abuse? Yeah, that is one of the symptoms of the mental disorder. I can´t even count how often he mistreats her - but at least once every single episode.
The ML obviously has a huge childhood trauma which results in excessive abusive behavior towards the FL and her sick mother. This goes on to the extreme, again and again and again.
If this were a drama about describing and depicting mental health problems , it would be really good because the writer really managed to bring those mental disorders to a refined dot on the i and this drama would get 10 stars from me.
This is NOT a romance, this is the TOXIC interaction between two mentally unstable people and this romatization of violence and abuse should finally STOP.

Forgettable
While scrolling through my completed list i came across this title, and read the synopsis and though whoa, i must have made a mistake; for it to already have a rating by me.... welll apparently i did watch it, and needless to say i can see why i forgot it. It is a very long and drawn out drama, and as i sit here rewatching and skipping through scenes, I'm trying to remeber what happens in the end.... i can only remember a episode as I'm skipping through, if that's not sad i dont know what is..........Was this review helpful to you?

I loved this drama until episode 35 and then no more English subtitles so I cannot follower the last 10 episodes. Soooooo disappointed!!WHY did you do this?
I tried to watch episodes 37 to 46 just to see what happened but it was all in vain did not have a clue!!
