Together with Me (2017)

Contains spoilers and this is going to be unpopular opinion I guess

I know my review is going to be unpopular opinion but here it goes.
Almost all characters in this show is flawed and that is good in a way as we all humans are but I personally like drama where even if people are flawed, they realize things and change their way and there is growth and redemption in someway. Below are the things which is felt about the show and characters:
1. Knocks character: Knock has girlfriend but he goes drinking with two girls and Korn and initiates kissing with a girl but then both Korn and Knock are drunk and end up having sex but Knock is angry at Korn like he committed crime? They both were drunk, so it was equal fault but for him to act like it was all Korn’s mistake was getting on my nerves. His girlfriend doesn’t know what he is allergic to while all his friends know, Utah is a huge red flag and then he says it was Korn’s fault for treating her badly? Seriously dude, use some of the brain cells. Text her and tell. “COMMUNICATE”. She is different infant of instagram camera and offline, red flag and even after people telling that, he still does not understand and notice that? She does not spend time with him at all, red flag? She says she is coming at 5 but doesn’t show up till 7 so can’t he “message” her and tell hey it’s 7 and you are not here so I am leaving? Why on earth doesn’t he see all these red flags? WHERE THE HELL IS COMMUNICATION IN THIS RLEATIONSHIP or his relationship with Korn??? He has girlfriend but he kisses and sleep with Korn but then he hurts him again? Why on earth CHEATING is okay? It’s okay if you are confused, just be honest with both go them!! Even if Plren is mentally unstable person, you need to be honest in relationship!!
2. Korn character: He is comfortable with himself, straight-forward and honest. When Knock asked about Mew he told directly, no beating around the bush. He is flirty with Knock but he doesn’t cross the line. He confessed to Knock but he did no make a move until he Knock himself kissed first. Why is Korn with Knock when he doesn’t reciprocate his love and trust him and why is he going behind someone who doesn’t love him the way he wants to be loved?
3. Plern, Prae, Mikki character: Ladies, get a life. So clingy and pathetic. Plern is such a double faced character and manipulative and why on earth is she clingy to Knock? I still do not get it. If she want’s relationship only on the instagram then why can’t she find someone else? She doesn’t know her boyfriend is allergic to shrimp? She would have killed him. Even Yihwa being a friend knows that. How can someone “STEAL” an adult grown man? Dman, these languages in the show needs to change as people in real life also imitate and seek this way. And Prae changing her love interest from Farm to Bright? I am like seriously?!?!?! Mikki: girl get a life. You can’t stalk people!!! Not legal!! What Plern did with the “serum” is fraud but no legal action for that? All the stalking, manipulation and creepy ways to hurt people and at the end they are all still okay? I mean I know this happens in real life too but still you would want to see some justice.
4. Farm-Bright relationship: Don’t even get me started on that. My blood boils. I do not feel comfortable when there is Rape/non-consent and exploitation and abuse and assault and if I start to wrote about it, it’s going to be a huge article so I want to just say that Bright needs to be in jail and undergo therapy and reform himself and Farm needs to be in therapy to heal himself from the trauma.
5. Kavita-Phu relation: Phu, you need to take care of your mess? Why do people in this show, just push everything under the mat and not explain? He just left Mikki assume that Kavita was girlfriend based on photos and did not clear misunderstanding. He knows how things are causing issues for the lecture and still he doesn’t want to take care of his mess? He lied to her saying dropping out and kisses her? Seriously? There is no ACCOUNTABILITY in this show for lot of characters.
6. Yihwa: Solid female character, non-judgmental and supportive friend, extremely smart and without her, there wouldn’t be Korn-Knock. She is the kind of friend everyone should have in their life.
7. Fai: Again solid female character, smart, minds her business, good friend. We need more representation of character like Fai and Yihwa in all stories rather than Plern kind.
8. Plot wasn’t the usual damsel in distress or one of the BL couple needs to be more “soft” or “feminine” to be in the relationship. It was refreshing to see that change
9. Chemistry between Korn and Knock was really good and the intimate scenes were not awkward like some other BL series where you as a viewer start feeling uncomfortable because the actors aren’t comfortable.
10. Overall bad to okayish storyline. Acting and music was good.

I hate that most shows (BL/non-BL) start to normalize forceful kisses/sex/physical intimacy when it is clearly assault and rape or normalize stalking behavior or lying or cheating to fall in “love” or go behind someone who doesn’t love you the way you to be loved. You expect the other person to change but that won’t happen because they are being themselves and then the issues in relationship starts. Also no communication and trust is like a main theme everywhere.
Why can’t there be a show where people show communication skills between couples, trust, honesty and consent which portrays what a healthy relationship should look like.

Slow-burn, largely unproblematic and realistic

Spoilers ahead: I'm sure I'm going to step on a lot of toes with this review. I know this series is highly rated but I find it pretty boring overall because I dislike slow burn dramas. While the story is fine, I feel like things are dragged longer than necessary and I had to skip ahead many times once I get the gist of the scenes. Speaking as a gay man, I have gripes with Korn referring to Knock as his wife (almost twice: once he almost let it slip in the hospital, and another time when confronting Pleng near the end of the series). Referring to the bottom as the wife is a big no-no as it's both heteronormative and homophobic. Released in 2017, they should've known better. I could be wrong but it's pretty indicative of the writers NOT being part of the LGBTQ community. Neither me nor any gay men I know would call themselves or their spouses their "wife." Vice versa for lesbians. As a community, we're just so tired of the heteronormative, male/female, seme/uke dichotomy of queer relationships. And to add fuel to the fire, I see comments that praise the "wife" line as the best line in the whole series. That's such a fujoshi thing to say. At this point (episode 12), I've decide to stop watching even though I know there's only 1 more episode to go. Consider that the last straw. Furthermore, it's pretty draining to have to root for characters I increasingly dislike, so much so that I no longer care if Korn and Knock get back together, although I know they will. I have no respect for Knock, who cheated multiple times, who can never be decisive, and who kept making bad decisions that hurt everyone around him. I also have no respect for Korn. Back when he claimed Pleng is innocent he cheated with Korn once again even though they were both sober. Of course, he also did the big no-no by calling Knock his wife. On the other hand, Faii and Yihwa are pretty awesome characters and they usually steal the scenes. While Knock and Korn's relationship has the potential of being quite sweet, their relationship (as with the rest of the relationships on the show) has been rocky for most of the series, which can be frustrating to watch. Representation and research-wise, I like that it is pretty realistic. With the exception of the "wife" thing, it hasn't fallen into any more of the pitfalls common to the BL genre. There is variety: I like that Korn is established as a gay character who doesn't care about others' judgment. Bright is an unapologetic, sleezy playboy (which is fine but he should've said so to Farm from the start) while Farm is as pure as it comes. None of them feel like stereotypes or caricatures. The show deals with realistic themes like homophobia (from Korn's sister), cheating, revenge, heartbreak, being outed, friendship, etc. so by no means is this show a whitewashed fetishization of gay men. The acting is decent, although Korn's face freezes whenever someone confronts him about something and I don't know if that's his characterization or awkward acting. Knock can't cry for shit. Farm's face always has the same look/emotion. Faii and Yihwa are hilarious. Lastly, I don't get why Knock was so upset at the start. They were both drunk and they agreed to have sex. Knock even bottomed without prep or lube, which is metal. It's not as if Korn raped him.

Não quero parecer exagerado mas foi o melhor BL que já assisti. Um dorama para ser visto e revisto. Lógico que há imperfeições, mas não podemos comparar com nada que temos no Brasil. Há muito que amo os tailandeses, e cada vez mais!! Prá começar Knock e Korn são extremamente bonitos e carismáticos, talvez o mais belo casal de todos, impossível não shippar esses dois até o pós túmulo kkkkkk. A expressão facial do Thanasrivanitchi Pakorn (Tul/ Knock) é fora do comum, a forma como ele move as sobrancelhas e pálpebras é muito especial! Já o Diloknawarit Nattapol (Max/ Korn) tem um olhar de canto de olho que dá um frio na barriga!!! OMG!!! Não tem como não amar esses dois, impossivel!!!! A química entre eles é algo que jamais vi em qualquer casal até hoje, hétero ou não. Ou eles são os melhores atores que já encontrei ou eles realmente sentem algo um pelo outro, por mais declaradamente héteros que possam se dizer. A sensação de que eles se amam, para mim, é muito mais do que convincente, é real!! A estória tem pequenas cenas que as vezes nos parecem muito inocentes até comparadas as malvadezas das novelas brasileiras kkkkkk mas isso faz parte do pacote! Eu pessoalmente amo o humor leve e descontraído dos tailandeses. É o mundo oriental tão distante do nosso! (Alias comecei a assistir essas estórias exatamente por serem leves, cansei de ver cabeça rolando no Netflix kkkkkkkkkkk). Só pra ver os olhares assombrosos de paixão e as cenas de pegassão prá lá de calientes já vale a pena assistir. E ainda tem a maravilhosa Yihwa, a amiga verdadeira, do coração, que quer ver os outros felizes sem medir esforços e é crucial na trama. Por outro lado tem a insuportável, detestável e abominável Plern Pleng, muitíssimo bem interpretada!! Eu adorei tudo, inclusive as cenas na periferia, na parte pobre de Bangkok, coisa que geralmente omitem nas séries. A cena dos aviõezinhos de papel remetendo a infância me tocou na alma (claro que tenho coração de manteiga kkkkkkk) A música é muito linda e ajuda a gente a molhar várias vezes o lencinho, como todo bom dorama deve fazer!!! Imperdível!!!!!!!!!!!

Depois de muito ouvir falar desse drama eu resolvi assistir, e confesso, não me arrependi nem um pouco.
De começo eu fiquei relutante em assistir por achar que todo os comentários positivos eram muito superestimados e achava que o dorama nem era tudo isso. Ok, comecei a assistir uma vez e achei que precisaria assistir ''Bad romance'' antes para entender melhor a história, depois que me esclareceram que não precisava eu segui o bailekkkk
Aviso: dorama com cenas fortes de pegação não assista com os pais por perto!! Essas cenas foram uma surpresa pra mim (geralmente nos doramas não rola nem beijo) nunca pensei que a Ásia colocaria lemon em um drama, fiquei feliz com a evolução, feliz e bem louca.
Uma das coisas que precisamos bater palmas neste drama é a história, claro, que tive meus momentos de ranço por algumas coisas como, o fato do knock trair a namorada dele, a enrolação geral do relacionamento dos dois, aquele doutor que eu não engoli de jeito nenhum e etc, porém por ser uma coisa que foge do padrão yaoi ''uke frágil e seme alfa'' eu adorei.
Precisamos falar do meu amor pela Yinhwa e pela Fai, melhores pessoinhas, não foram preconceituosa e fizeram tudo pelos amigos, melhor amizade ever - Quando eu descobri que teve gente que desgostou da Yinhwa da primeira vez que viu ela eu fiquei ''??? tá na cara que ela é a mais preciosa e que vai fazer de tudo para juntar os dois'' dito e feito -. Fiquei com um amor por elas duas mas também por toda a turma de amigos, é como se eu me apegasse à eles e pensasse ''nossa, eu queria tanto uma turma de amigos assim'', eu fiquei tão triste porquê eu queria ver mais momentos deles por isso vou correndo assistir Bad Romance hehe

Saya pikir ini sangat realistik

salah satu bL terbaik menurutku adalah series MAXTUL, yup ... mereka berdua sangat cocok untuk bermain peran bersama, memunculkan banyak percikan chemistry romansa cinta. Menceritakan Korn yang menyukai Knock sejak kecil, namun dia tidak bisa mengatakannya secara langsung, di sisi lain Knock sudah berpacaran dengan seorang wanita. Suatu waktu insiden terjadi - ketika mereka sedang berpulang kampung dari rutinitas kuliahnya, di perjalanan mereka memutuskan untuk menginap di sebuah hotel ~ alhasil mereka mabuk dan berhubungan seks, Paginya Knock tidak bisa menerima kenyataan itu dan mereka terlibat konflik. Bagaimana kisah selanjutnya? apakah Knock akan tetap menjalin hubungan dengan perempuan yang dia pacari, ataukah dia berfikir ulang tentang siapa yang disukainya? saksikan seriesnya. Dari segi pengemasan Scene mungkin awalnya agak membosankan karena karakter yang ditampilkan cukup banyak dan saya benar-benar harus mengenal semuanya, scene abstraksi mungkin terlalu panjang ya hampir satu episode pertama. Dari segi warna menurutku kurang begitu berkesan seperti series cinematik lain namun series ini enak ditonton sebagai series ringan yang ceritanya detail dan mudah difahami, konflik masalah ini cukup rumit dan menggemaskan, serta sangat realistis dengan dunia sebenarnya menurutku. Terdapat beberapa filler non-mainrole relationship, yang paling kuat menurutku adalah Bright dan Farm hubungan mereka menurutku asik dan seru sih karena seme-nya adalah seorang dokter yang playboy haha. Overall series ini sangat amat rekomendasi untuk ditonton baik untuk bL fans pemula maupun veteran.

Se prepare para passar raiva

Cá estou eu para expressar minha indignação com essa aqui. Eu gosto dos MaxTul, acho a química entre eles incrível, gosto da atuação, mas o plot dessa série não me desceu por dois motivos: essa namorada dos infernos e o corno manso do Knock.

Como sempre, eles serviram muito nas cenas de beijo e etc., mas pra mim a série pecou na dosagem de cegueira do Knock pq não é possível alguém ser tão cego, burro e trouxa desse jeito. Passei tanta raiva vendo que eu já tava torcendo pro Korn ficar com outro cara no final da série.

PS.: Spoiler: achei muito bem merecido o chifre que o Knock levou na 2 temporada (e olhe que nem curto esses plots com traição).

Enfim, atuação e química no ponto, mas a história não me desceu.
