Anyone who says this show is a masterpiece, or it's AMAZING, is either a. lying to themselves, or b. they were only in it for the make-out scenes. 90% of everyone here, I'm almost sure, falls into the category, of BOTH. Me included? Maybe?

My point is, this story's one redeeming quality was the acting. Besides Yihwa (who everyone can't seem to get enough of) the two male leads (Korn and, shit I forgot his name already. K--? Knock. Looked it up) had hot chemistry whenever it came to the kissing scenes. This drama is literaly one of the BEST BL dramas with actors who have the BEST make-out chemistry, imo. (Chesmistry can still be amazing without make-out scenes, but for strictly mid-action scenes, this show had the best chemistry ever, hands down). ......But outside of that, this show gets a big fat EH from me :/

This is a little mean to the production crew and actors, and everyone else who I'm sure put a lot of work into this, but guys....this story isn't very good. Besides the fact that Plern is a literally sociopath and really #controversial as a character, the entire relationship between Doctor Slut and, uh, Farm, is just TOXIC. I hated it. It got to the point where whenever they came on I just >> skip skip skip, because i literally didn't want to see anymore. From the minute Dr. Bright came on, I knew he was a piece of shit, and as the episodes progressed, this was only affirmed.

All I stuck around for was the relationship between Korn and Knock, but the resolution was so half-assed, and Knock is a dumbass and he lowkey doesn't deserve Korn. But was I expecting any healthy relationships periodt? No, not really :/ So i guess I got what I was expecting.

This show is filled with its own slew of benign #controversial moments, but which bl drama isn't? All I can say is, I'm definitely not rewatching this, not even for the make-out scenes because why the hell would I?? If you want a show with good chemistry, a good female side character BFF, and, um....abs, give it a go! I'd still recommend this show as an entry to the Thai BL world, along with Tharn Type, but just so that I'd have someone to be like "mhmm, yup, all of that shit really happened," and nothing more.

Regardless, I guess you could say these shows all have their own charms, despite the questionable writing, and infuriating storylines, and if you're new to the BL drama scene, definitely give it a go, and join the rodeo......because I promise you, it gets both better and worse from here :")

Strong First Half But Nonsensical In Its Second Half

Entertaining and enjoyable in its first half where logically the story made sense. However, the story started to unravel in its second half where logically, it became a bit messy. And a few questionable subplots like the Thai Reddit posts, which served no purpose and why everyone at the school just so happen to reply to it. Too much time was spent on side characters and not enough on Korn and Knock's relationship in my opinion. I could care less about Phubet and Professor Kavitra's relationship. And the investigation to uncovering Pleng's motives could have been portrayed much better to be honest. It was a bit tame. Anyways, it was nice seeing an older gay in a BL in Doctor Bright. However, he was sleazy and promiscuous. Hardly a good portrayal of an older gay guy.

On a more positive note, I absolutely loved the friendship between the characters. There's like this unbreakable bond between them, which makes my heart fuzzy. They're the kind of friends that I wished that I had in real life. And I loved Yihwa. Such a great friend! Also, It's nice seeing two semes (tops) get together though. All the BL's I've seen have an uke (bottom) and a seme. However, there is always one confident gay and a panicked gay to put it into crass terms. It's pretty cool seeing a different side of Thailand with the floating market.

Not a fan of all the drugging for comedic purposes though. Or that ugly girl joke at the end. Ugh. So tacky! Acting is a bit weak from the entire cast. Max and Tul aren't able to emote properly, but they are attractive; probably the most attractive BL pair that I've seen to date.

I cannot wait to see how the characters' stories play out in the sequel!

I was hesitant to watch this since the series is linked to another series. As much as possible I wanted to watch both series and come up with a conclusion about both series. I am also interested on how the stories match up on both series but is much more interested to watch how Korn and Knock's love story came to be and I was not disappointed. The series is great.

The acting was superb compared to the past bl series I've watched. Character development is believable as well as the story line. The love Korn has for Knock, the support they get from friends and the challenges they face came in pretty neatly. There may have been a few gasps but the mix is definitely great.  You can sympathize with other characters while you want to smack the "villains".

Not to mention, kissing scenes are great. Definetly on the mature side(expect bed scenes and deep kisses) but those kisses surely are called kisses not just peck and camera angles.

The story is well sewn together. Acting is superb. Chemistry is well lit.  A must watch for those (like me) deep into the bl world.

When I watched the teaser first time I thought my nose bleeding will never stop... After watching bad romance I was thinking about its presequal and here it comes... What an amazing treat... The best part is its story... Usually yaoi have not strong story line and depends upon the acting but here I find well written plot with remarkable acting... The chemistry and comfort between max and tul and above all their characters are well portrayed... Max is aggressive and some bed scenes his looks are too hot to burn my head and on the contrary tul is too sweet and naive that he makes my heart melt every time when he appears on screen... Hottest making scenes with am ease are charismatic... I am still shouting and flying... What an experience...

Decent but flawed

GENERAL
This was a good series, but flawed. I liked it more in the beginning and less and less as it progressed. Of the 20+ BL series I have watched thus far, this has to be the best-looking cast of all. The women are stunning, the secondary characters are handsome and the two leads are flawlessly beautiful. Those pecs, those abs! Korn’s smile!!

The story is straight out of every gay man’s diary. Who hasn’t fallen in love with a childhood friend, their best friend, a “straight” man in a relationship with a woman? Even though it starts with the two men in bed, we quickly get their back-story and how they wound up there. The series portrays that aspect best of all. I truly believed these guys were best friends. There was an ease and camaraderie that played out beyond their romance that I appreciated. That’s what makes the first half of this series so enjoyable, watching two friends who clearly enjoy hanging out together.

But in the second half, as the drama unfolds and all the back-stabbing, manipulation and waffling emotions come to the forefront, the scripting and acting flaws become more apparent. The same situations are repeated, and the same dialogue is often repeated. Once a revelation occurs, the writer needs to move on, but here we revisit the same things again and again. And whether the fault of the sub or the actual script, characters randomly forget information they have already learned, forcing us to hear the same details again for no reason.

I know that Knock is conflicted, confused and uncertain about accepting a MM relationship – but after he declares that he will love Korn for the rest of his life, there should be little doubt about who he wants to be with. He is thrilled one moment to be in love with his best friend, then seems to forget his declaration a moment later and wants time apart to be with his girlfriend. The writer could certainly come up with reasons for him to delay telling Pleng, but his waffling back and forth just felt contrived and only so the creators could extend the drama and fill up several more episodes.

This is a true soap opera, with back-stabbing, manipulation, lies, deceit, and real villains. Pleng is a reprehensible character and Aim plays her very well. I actually enjoyed a lot of these elements, though this is also where the script got repetitive and convenient. I also enjoyed the friends’ stories, especially the hetero romance. I like my BL to reflect real life, and hetero friends falling in love is always welcome.

Once again, BL does friendship right. A great group of supporting characters who feel like actual friends. Everyone who knows the BL universe must know about Siwha, already. She has to be a legendary character in this world. She is the best friend we all want, the actual glue for the entire group, and the “me” in the title (a sweet end note to the series).

ACTING/DIRECTING
Similar to my general comments, I think the acting is stronger in the first half of the series, when everything is lighter and friendlier. I was quite taken by and charmed by Tul/Korn and Max/Knock. Max is the stronger actor, which is a shame since Korn has more character depth to work with. But as their relationship became more complicated, their acting grew stiffer. Their faces remained blank. They are both very good at being natural and friendly, but I never felt “love” between them. The scripting did not allow them to go very deep into their characters. At times of high emotion, they would only be allowed to show an initial reaction and we never got to explore it deep enough to satisfy me.

All of the women were fantastic. Maegmum as Siwha is a stand-out. She deserves all the credit for carrying this series on her shoulders. She is charming, funny, resourceful, strong, loyal and gorgeous. Again, Aim as Pleng was a villain you love to hate. She was compelling to watch. Janis as Plae was remarkably charming, even in her shallow cattiness and relentless manipulation of every boy she met. Olive as Faii dimensionalized her limited character quite well. Kudos to all the ladies.

I would say that the direction succeeded overall, though struggled as well. The director was not able to elicit the emotions necessary from his main actors. I did not believe I was watching anguish or heartbreak, despite some (probably fake) tears. I did enjoy the lighter moments. The comedy was well played. Even the bizarre camera shakes and childish sound effects worked effectively.

KISSING/INTIMACY
While I would not say this has a LOT of skin, there is more than most and enough to tantalize anyone. And they do not shy away from intimating there is actual sex (including who is doing what). It’s steamier than most BL series – which I have to say, I am all for! And these boys know how to kiss on camera. These felt like real kisses, not the normal BL peck with a very tightly closed mouth. However, their faces often seemed to express pain, rather than passion, during these moments, even in the final episode when they are already together as a couple, they seem upset when they are being kissed.

THE DOWNSIDE
The biggest challenges for me were the two inappropriate relationships. Phubet’s interest in his teacher is not an uncommon plot and for the most part the series finds a way to make this relationship successful – but it was definitely inappropriate and her denial of it should have been stronger. She was told this could endanger her job, and indeed it should have. Luckily, they SAY that they have agreed to “wait” until he graduates, but their actions do not reflect that. A slight misstep for me. It’s fine to have a “hot for teacher” storyline, but the adult should be stronger, especially since her character was shown to be smart and savvy.

But the Farm/Bright relationship was ALL WRONG. A 40+ year old man aggressively pursuing a 20 year old is creepy. Given Farm’s naivete and MM virginity, it was even worse. Bright’s behavior is inappropriate from the start. He abuses his privilege as a doctor to put his hands on the young man. On top of that, they make Bright an indiscriminate “player”, pursuing several other boys, sometimes in front of Farm. Eww. In fact, the first time they kiss was only moments after Bright had tried to kiss Korn. What an a**. The 4-way he arranges, without Farm’s knowledge or consent, is unforgivable. Since the end of that tryst is not shown, I can only assume they all raped the young man. I’m not opposed to showing the darker side of a love story, but this felt wrong on so many levels. Farm’s subsequent “conversion” to a player, himself after underage boys, was unbelievable and did not make his “revenge” on Bright any more palatable.

SUMMARY
A decent series, worthy of viewing. I would just manage expectations and try to focus on the eye candy and the strong female actresses and not expect an entirely satisfying viewing experience. I will eventually check out the prequels and sequels, but given the lead actors’ limitations, I will wait until I have gone through my list of “must-sees”.

I have to say, I wasn't expecting to love this at all. But here I am obsessed with the actors and the series and such.
First of all I fell in love with Max/Korn/
Second of all, I was 'fangirling' so hard through this series. Of course it is a drama, and despite all the unncessary shit what was going on, It didn't feel like it was too much, It was really clever, and not overdone. /overdoing such drama series is really common, but it wasnt the case here/
I realllly loved the chemistry between the main actors, and still can't get over Korn's cuteness. /he is too gorgeous, sorry/
Yihwa is the best! Her character made this series even better!
Would 10/10 recommend this, and would totally rewatch.

Incredible chemistry, BUT emotions ruined by excess plot

The opening scene is a freaking hook and i feel like i might watch one hundred BL and not find a scene as steamy.

I like the relationship between the main characters and I'd say displays of PDA were better here than the other two Thai dramas I've watched.

I like the couple but quite often one of them just isn't a very good person. He doesn't make decisions and as a result gets lead around by everyone else. He's also quite gullible and doesn't really think. But i guess a character who's willing to cheat at any point isn't going to be the best character. But i feel like he was overloaded with some annoying qualities and constantly put in the same situation by different people. It's fine if there's a character like that, but i just wish it wasn't half of the main couple.

I rated the rewatch value the lowest, BUT I am consistently watching fan videos of the mains because they're so good together.

SPOILERS BELOW:
*************************
My problem: the machination plot was just too much

It would've been a higher rating for me if it was just confusion and infidelity with real emotional reactions, but instead there's a convoluted plot where the girlfriend is manipulating everyone. She was honestly a decent character till that reveal. And I'm just not a fan of vilifying girlfriend characters to make the gay couple canon.

When it became gossip girl with all this puppeteering going on in the background i was just rolling my eyes. They already had decent conflict with the situation but the writers decided there needed to be more.

It also suffers a bit from the fact that it's a prequel to another romance show starring one of the girl side characters. Without ever seeing the original, you could tell this was a prequel to a different series when the "side" female character is the one who solves the final conflict to bring them main couple together. Without her they probably would've never made up. Even if she was the main character of the original, she didn't need to play such a big role here. Unless of course the original series and the actress were half of the reason this prequel got made in the first place, in which case i can understand the need for it.

This could've just been real and raw and confusing and conflicting emotions/choices, but no, they had to introduce hidden agendas and plots.

Everything would've been better if the "here's what's really going on" just didn't happen.
The PDA is top notch though.

not everyone’s cup of tea, but i enjoyed it!

this drama is not for everyone, that’s for sure. i’m one that genuinely enjoyed it omg

the plot isn’t to die for, it’s your generic crazy girlfriend, doesn’t know and won’t accept he’s gay plotline. but it was all very enjoyable to watch. i loved maxtul’s chemistry, this drama being my very first introduction to them, i was very satisfied. yihwa is my favorite character in the entire bl industry. that woman said what we all were thinking without any filter and was the only character with a BRAIN a lot of times during the series.

i enjoyed the ending. it was a good closure to the series. so sad for farm, truly heartbreaking to see him go from a bubbly, shy, kindhearted boy to now a heartless fuckboy, and all because of bright. he truly messed farm up and it was truly so sad to watch. LOVED korn, SO MUCH. poor boy deserved better i’m not even going to try and lie.

i have a love and hate relationship with knock. because for fucks sake, he’s insufferable. always the damn victim. i liked him at first but he just got progressively worse! i do acknowledge he was being manipulated by his crazy girlfriend but OH MY GOD WAKE UP. absolutely no brains at all. i wouldn’t have forgiven him as easily as korn did, i know you love him but please let’s respect ourselves a bit more

all the actors did such an incredible job, it’s insane. overall the series is very well acted and casted. it has some very problematic themes, that i haven’t seen being mentioned and wasn’t ready for, especially for the SA done by bright.

not everyone’s cup of tea, but DEFINITELY mine.

Defintely grabs and holds your attention.

Okay, so this series seems to get good or bad reviews. I liked it. Not that it is entirely realistic, but still there is plenty happening to keep oneself on an emotional rollercoaster. I think all of the actors and actresses did an outstanding job, their performance is really over the top. Even the side characters were amazing.

While I could nitpick some of the storyline, I won't because instead of comparing it to real life, I just watched and enjoyed. And the ending for everyone was just perfect, which also makes for a good series. The chemistry between the two main leads was so amazing, they were able to say so much just by looking at each other.

I will rewatch this someday, not soon, but someday.

Bestfriends to Lovers

I am guessing that if that drunken night had never happened then would Korn had stayed in a one-sided love with Knock forever? Alcohol did give him easy access to make his move on Knock and so the drama started.

Max and Tul are amazing actors. They bring in emotion when they need to and the HEAT when they need to as well. They both are very masculine and sexy individuals especially Knock with his seductive gaze making literally everyone fall in love with him. When doing their love scenes, there is no gentleness, just dominance, and aggression and we are here for that. Korn becomes a beast in bed. Both of their smiles just melt hearts.

The other characters were just as fantastic, Yiwah, Faii, Farm, Doc. Bright. The character of Yiwah was hands down the most fun. We all need a friend like that to always protect us and love us no matter what. The most heart-touching moment was when she helped Korn pick up the flyers when his own sister dismissed him.

The relationship between Bright and Farm was a toxic one no doubt. It seems that the only reason he chose Farm was that he could not have Korn. Our poor Farm baby was so innocent till the last episode. It was an interesting fact to know that Porshe (Dr. Bright) is gay in real life and has a YouTube series with his real-life husband. I wish he would get more acting opportunities as there is a lot less representation of actual LGBTQ+ actors especially ones who are open about their relationship with their significant other.

I guess the only character other than the protagonist that I didn't like was Korn's sister, the teacher. I skipped most of her scenes with Phu.

Overall, it was a good series to watch. It captures your attention immediately as Ep. 1 starts with a bang (pun intended). The comedy is fun, the friendship is beautiful and the love is adorable. It is an overall good package.
