I thought the story was really good. It was very refreshing and just showed a family who was living and cherishing each other. I was not expecting how it ended for SURE! There is a huge twist which I thought was brilliantly done. I totally didn't see it coming but I liked that I didn't and I thought the twist really tied the movie together. The story is bittersweet but in a very heartwarming way. Definitely some comedy and one line zingers thrown in which just made the movie even more heartwarming. You will definitely cry at a few scenes too but I think that adds to this movie's charm and if you haven't read the synopsis, I wasn't surprised that I cried after reading that.
The acting/cast I thought was superb. So Ji Sub and Son Ye Jin were great together. They had a lot of chemistry and you really felt the emotions they were evoking...their acting jumped off the screen. You as the viewer rooted for them as a couple. Their counterparts, Kim Ji Hwan and Go Chang Seok added more to the charm, especially with the comedy. There are some hilarious scenes with Go Chang Seok. Kim Ji Hwan plays the little boy and he is just so cute throughout the movie and the one liners he gets in the movie are so funny. I thought this movie was casted very well.
The music in this was perfect for what was happening on screen. The music just supported the story and the cast so well, especially when it was an emotional scene. I don't think I would rewatch this again, unless I wanted to cry because I did cry in multiple scenes. It is just a charming and cute movie but definitely is sad and bittersweet at the same time. I would consider rewatching this though.
I would recommend this movie to people who want a love story with comedy and sadness....sort of like life itself.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]I didn't watch the Japanese version yet, but this is the nice and touching movie. And I watched it at the office (^o^;)
I never think that the reason the mother appear a year later is because she was in a coma in her youth and having a time slip to the future. Quite an nice and smart twist plot in my opinion, although I don’t know if it possible or not (^_^;) The tragedy and sad moment really play with your emotion.
The casts’ acting are great, especially the male lead and the female lead. Their clueless expression is really worth my time watching (^_^)

A sweet love story
I'd been putting off watching this one for a while, fully expecting it to be one non-stop tear-jerker. The tragic premise--a recently deceased young mother returns to her grieving husband and young son and spends a rainy season healing them enough to continue life without her--with Son Ye Jin starring as the young mother Im Soo Ah, was the perfect recipe for it. And while there were a few tears and some heartache, Be With You turned out to be much more. In the end, it is mostly a sweet, heartwarming love story about a family learning to cope with tragedy. It starts with a sweet fable, which then plays out in real life, and is followed by an epilog that sheds new light on all that had come before it. They combine to form a story that will stick with you long after the movie ends. Son Ye Jin is simply transcendent. She is a national treasure. So Ji Sub does a terrific job playing the heartbroken husband and loving father, Jung Woo Jin, with an understated grief, strength, and grace. Jung Ji Ho, who plays the young son Jung Ji Ho is marvelous too. This a very good movie, with a heartwarming love story. Don't miss. Was this review helpful to you?
its a magical love story
●FIRST IMPRESSIONSo I was really confused with the synopsis, I mean how can a person return back after a year just because of a promise. It's impossible and seems illogical so I tried to avoid this.
But today I gave this movie a try because of Son Ye Jin, and I have to say it didn’t disappoint a bit.
●PLOT VIEW
I enjoyed every bit of the movie. The opening cartoon scene with the narration of SYJ was the sweet starter to the heartwarming tale. There was even a mind-boggling closure to that confusing synopsis, which held me to my feet.
●ACTING/CAST
So Ji Sub, I saw him for the first time and he aced the character of Jung Woo Jin. All the other characters the kid, uncle, swimming instructor were also were entertaining and without them, this would not have been as good as it is. They are very good supporting characters. Park Seo Joon cameo is too cute.
●MUSIC
The music is subtle and minimal.
●REWATCH
I think I need to rewatch this with my love. It is such a pure love that I want him to see the essence.
●RECOMMENDATION
Highly recommend to people who want to watch a slice of a love story, because this will make you believe in love. I was amazed and thankful for this beautiful story.

I watched this movie because I've been watching japanese movies lately and this came up on recommended. I admit I cried a whole ton but only on a few scenes. It was so sad, bittersweet, and heart breaking. (im sorry spoilers ahead!) The casting was amazing and the plotline was humorous at times, cute at others, and sad but meaningful most of the time. The script writers really portrayed such a loving and complete family, I could not stop watching it. I loved this movie and would highly recommend it. Guess whose eyes are gonna be super puffy tomorrow morning?? :') Was this review helpful to you?
Saying "I like it" wasn't enough.
This movie is really great, I mean everything about it. I really enjoy it though I'm not a big fan of them but it was really nice watching it over and over again. They really made me cry the whole time, I really can't say anything but this is a great movie. While watching it, I realized that it was some kind a bit similar to "Hi, bye mama" that really made me cry every episode and it was also a worth of watching for. This may not be a helpful review but trust me it won't fail you to cry and laugh at the same time. I watched it in the middle of the night, so I was silently crying the whole time while watching it. It was really fun and great that I accidentally saw this while scrolling for some movie recommendations and it's worth of watching for.P.S. You might actually know what would probably going to happen next while watching this but trust me you should really finish it till the end.
Also, it was really fun seeing the cameos of some of the actors that they already worked with. I actually love this one.

Uhm...Well, this definitely makes you go soft. The only thing bothered me when it ended was... how come the little boy's eomma could come and go after her death.. But that's still okay, a fantastic element like that will make you cry less. It's all about being a family in the end... I have to compliment So Ji Sob and the little child actor especially. I read that So Ji Sob had his doubts about the role in the beginning since he's not a father in real life. Watching his acting felt really good, I'm glad he chose to act in this.
