Dragon Day, You're Dead (2017)

Okay for those people going to blabber about the similarities between meteor garden and this drama I have to say. Stop it! Just watch it! It’s more like a parody than a copy of the typical F4 situation. The first couple episodes are like an nearly exact same. However take a deep breath and by some episodes later you’ll notice that actually this is a pretty damn good drama. The plot leads to different paths from story we are use to. It is more modern than you might think, pretty cute too. While watching this drama, there were of course parts that I wanted to skip really quickly. But those moment are overtaken by the actually great parts to it. In this drama they brought in many current day aspects to it too. Such as the immense amount of phone usages and that the female lead doesn’t have to be a frugal girl who is ugly. The male lead at first looks a typical dude who is not that good looking and just exist. But over time while watching him, especially when he puts his hair down (hair down I mean - Kpop Star bowl cut down) he’s so GORGEOUS!! The main female lead also looks like a a random actor the director just picked off the streets. But do not judge the book by its cover, she is actually really cute and enthusiastic. You know those cringey weird female leads where you want to rip off the screen. Congratulations she isn’t one of them. Just sometimes a little tiny bit annoying but that can be avoided. I’ve watched so many dramas who have such similar beginning story line and I have to say this is a pretty good-lighthearted one. Of course there were few tears but isn’t any of that melodrama where every episode = crying. So I have to say, forget all you past F4 dramas experiences and Give this a chance. Really recommend! :D

Bland

I started this series just as an something to keep me going, didn't expect to kinda enjoy it.

It's one of those series where you can literally just binge watch and joy. I particularly liked the ML and his dominate way, he knew what he wanted and never diverted, he stuck to his decision and went on from there.

The FL really pissed me off, she knew what kind of man long ri yi was, but she acted so immature and just did everything she could to piss off long ri yi, even though she tried to be this independent strong person it didn't fit her role and fell short. I just feel that she didn't play her role very well and always tried to come across like a pitiful person.

Overall it was enjoyable.

It took me quite a while to finish this drama because I either keep skipping or just push it aside for a while before getting back to it. The main lead can be really cute at times, their interactions and stuff are cute, but in my opinion, I don't feel the chemistry between them. The female lead seems very stiff and dull when delivering her lines, especially during emotional scenes, I don't feel sad at all. Whereas the male lead, his character seems childish at times, and there were times I couldn't even imagine them as a couple. Overall, the storyline is not very original, very cliche and cringy at times because I feel like they're trying to force certain events in the drama that's not very relevant to the storyline. There will be a lot of skipping rather than watching and it will not be worth it. As the audiences, we've seen many remakes or unoriginal storylines but still watched them because of the way the actors' help produced the drama. This drama is not one of those you can rewatch or watch.

Finally, I want to wrap this up by saying just because they did not deliver this drama well as I expected, it does not mean I won't be looking forward to their future work. I've watched The Endless Love that has Miles Wei in the past, and I know for fact he played a very similar character, so I'm hoping for him to dominate a different role to show a different side of him. Other than that, I hope those reading this understand that I'm not hating on the actors but I'm describing the characters they played and my own opinion toward them. If you do decide to watch the drama, watch it without any expectations or compare it to other dramas you've watched before, it will ruin the mood for you and make you want to skip most of the scenes. Watch it with no expectations regarding the storylines or the characters.

Actually I wasted today's data by watching this season one? I'm not that interested in season 2 but if I want to see the ending then I have to go for it as the season one ends with continuation
First of all I hated fl's mother she's a gold digger and it's irritating and Ml's grandpa is over over overbearing richman
If u like shipping u can watch this drama, there are 3 men for her to ship with, the story was almost like meteor garden but Don't expect much, they didn't done a good job to be compared with meteor garden
Season one has a shitty ending....she leaves her native, he's in coma, second male lead sends her off and third male lead ( also fallen for her) is disappeared in Sea when he tried saving both the main leads.....
I'm going to spend my data in Season 2 just to see how this lousy story ends....

Another Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden remake but with a few differences

This is very much like Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden, but with a few subtle differences. The violin player becomes ML's stepbrother, and the male love rival becomes an artist who just happens to be an old friend of ML's. I personally don't know why Asian women are so infatuated with this type of ML (bossy, overbearing CEO). Yeah, there's a primitive part of me that is thrilled by his possessiveness and persistence in declaring her his girlfriend (even when she declares that she isn't), but he's really an ass, especially with his childish behavior following the picture incident. Frankly, she ought to have been glad to finally get rid of him so she could further her relationship with the more mature and considerate SML. I can understand wanting to clear your name but just ignore him. When he sees you having a good time with SML, he'll get off his high horse.

This picture incident is followed up by more childish behavior re: FL and his stepbrother. One reviewer felt the fault lies with FL because ML told her to stay away from his stepbrother, however, I'm sorry, but nobody has the right to dictate who she's allowed to associate with, ok? That's taking possessiveness too far, and the fault of the last 2 episodes rest mostly on the bullying chick and ML. If ML hadn't been an immature ass and just believed FL, she would have never been outside in the storm. However, bat crap crazy grandpa banishes her and basically forces her to leave town. If I were her, I'd say 'good riddance' to this toxic jerk and his tyrannical granddad and take up with the guy I should have originally taken up with. This drama reminds me a lot of 'Chasing Ball' as well - dumb FL choses the immature jerk instead of the guy who's always there to love and support her. Heck, at this point, even the stepbrother would be a better choice even if he was declaring himself in love with Yoona only a couple episodes ago. BTW, I preferred the Yoona character in Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden better than this chick. At least, the character in the other two dramas chose her career rather than being forced into an arranged business marriage by her family.

Even though I think ML is an immature jerk (and my last choice among the available men), he does have his cute moments. Of course, these moments only occur when FL is obeying him and everything is going his way. You know, I actually like childish MLs, but I like the ones who's childishness isn't tyrannical, destructive or borders on psychotic. Examples: MLs in Brilliant Class 8, Out with a Bang, Moonlight, Superstar Assistant, etc. These guys had diva-like egos and could be petulant/grumpy, but they didn't act like they owned FL nor did they throw tantrums. They also didn't abandon FL when she needed them most. That's the real kicker - both the MLs of Chasing Ball and this drama wouldn't believe in FL and abandoned her in front of everyone. That's unforgivable in my book.

FL knows Taekwondo, but she can't use it because of her 'Venus' image, causing her to be bullied by a bunch of b******. So, why even bring in the Taekwondo thing if she can't use it? She does finally kick a few girl butts, but apparently, she's not good enough to kick male butts. I wish for once these FLs would properly kick the butts of their bullies. I get tired of the helpless female who can just stand there pathetically as she's pushed, shoved and plastered with water/flour/food.

That's about all I have to say about this drama. In some ways, I prefer it to Boys Over Flowers/Meteor right now. It's removed a few of the elements I disliked about those dramas. So far, ML is not being forced to marry some rich brat...but there's still Season 2 and the Chinese have a way of ruining a good start. Grandpa already forced ML to go to Paris and he's banished the girl so I wouldn't put the arranged marriage thing past him next season.

Another beautiful rom com drama with love triangle

Dragon day, you're dead - if u wanna watch a beautiful chinese short drama of short time duration then it is really for you...........?.the main leads have played their role wonderfully but i felt bad for second leads coz they were really handsome,loving and caring.The second season is the continuation of the first season story with same characters.It has also a love triangle but good thing about this drama was that both second leads found their true love at end.
For what to watch:-
1-if u wanna experience a exciting love story
2-if u are also a lover of chinese rom com youth drama
3 -if u loved master devil dnkm then u will surely love it.
Spoilers of drama:-
1:-the drama started with the main male lead entry and his white and black hairs were really irritating.
2-if u also have second lead syndrome?
3-the second fl lead luo yangyang loved the second main ml lead haiyi but she called him haiyi brother even after expressing her woman to man love which was disgusting.?
I will not say too much!!!!!
TRUST ME ? IT'S WORTH WATCHING AND JUST GO FOR IT!!!!!U WILL SURELY NOT REGRET IT!!!!???

it was okay. it's just a regular, a little funny and cringe drama.
story: it's nothing special, a tsundere, poor girl and a mean, rich boy. as time passes by, they slowly fall in love with each other. there were some amusing situations, like when long ri yi's towel fell off. there is also a group of mean, rich girls, 'queen' with her friends. and a few boys/girls who like main characters.
acting/cast: the actors did a really good job. scenes which express emotions were well-played. all of the actors are super handsome or pretty. especially moyu and youyu were really cute and funny! about long ri yi, i felt that he and zhang jing mei dont really match each other. sure, they were a lovely couple, but long ri yi was too childlsh and envious. i think their relation was a little toxic, but maybe its just me. in my opinion, jin chun xi would be better for jing mei. anyway, all of them played well.
music: it was okay, nothing much to say. i felt like sometimes it didn't match the situation, but nevermind.
rewatch value: maybe i'll come back to this drama with my friends. it would be fun :D
overall: i'll give a 7.5. i think it's a nice, light drama to watch with family or friends. you'll feel the atmosphere, maybe you'll even laugh or cry. it's suitable for a film night, where you could comment characters' behaviour or decisions. sometimes i just wanted to scream or stop watching because of the cringe, but it was funny :D

Oh God, the horror!

The FL rolls up in the first scene wearing a Nutty Professor TWO shirt, so I knew I was in for a rough ride. ROUGH. Then it just slowly devolved from there. The styling was the worst I have ever seen and this includes the FL's wig from Lucky's First Love. At one point he puts this UFC bandaid on the FL and wore a "thug life" hat. It was so so so bad. OH I FORGOT THE ELMO SHIRT AT A ROMANTIC DINNER.

I could go all day about the terrible styling but IN FACT the acting/story line was worse. The FL is supposed to be good a martial arts but IS NOT. She also is portrayed as this strong person but is a failure among us all. The ML is way worse than expected. Also basically she gets real into the idea of the whole contract minion relationship which is a definite signal of Stockholm syndrome.

OH I MOMENTARILY forgot the abusive and manipulative family for the FL. The mom forces a contract on her for money, the brother steals the said money, and they basically try to sell her to the ML . It is weird and terrible.


I personally thought that Meteor garden was bad but I was in fact wrong. So so so wrong.

This definitely should be hidden from the world forever and ever and ever.

Also if I could give this a zero I wouldn't, I would give it a -1.
