Vampire Prosecutor is like CSI/Law & Order. Each episode deals with a different and interesting case that is brought to resolution by the end of each episode. Some of the cases/suspects are hilarious. Despite each episode being a different murder case, there is an overarching storyline (of the paranormal kind) that continues throughout the season, which you get snippets of in each episode.
The vampire aspects of this show aren't THAT extensive, really. They're there, but don't overpower the show. He does have the benefit of certain vampy powers, but the team still needs good ol' normal crime solving power.
Like someone else said, there is a LITTLE bit of romance. It is in no way the main storyline. It's like a bonus crumb, and very understated, which I usually hate, but I found really satisfying in this show.
The cast was amazing. I loved the main cast. The actors/actresses who played the criminals did an amazing job, too. I was efficiently creeped out, angered, sympathetic, etc.
I'll be honest and say I don't remember much music. I remember one song with words, and I liked it. I heard it twice, I think. The other song was instrumental and I heard it once at a poignant moment.
I'd definitely watch this show again. I can't wait for Season 2.

There are some fatal flaws. Especially with the mythology. Meaning there really is no hardcore mythology behind it. In fact, I'm not even sure if the vampires know anything. It's very muddled. There are so many unanswered questions as to why Min has his powers. Are they vampire standard or unique to each one, and so on. Despite all that there's a reason it is the most talked about 2012 K-drama.
Every actor did a wonderful job and I was completely caught up in their performances. Lee Won Jong is always a pleasure to watch and I love the way he portrays Detective Hwang.
For me the selling point of VP is not that there are vampires here. (And yes I'm a huge vampire nut!) This is an excellent prosecutor show and I loved the episode cases and the overall arc mystery of the show. Well done.

OK so I am done gushing about how much I liked it. Now to tell u y I like it. Well it has a SMEXY vampire who just happens to solve crimes. What could be better? I'm not rly sure but I will let u know when I find out. Also, there is humor. I loved this b/c not only am I devouring eye candy but the eye candy makes me laugh as well. Smexy w/ a sense of humor. Screams "THE BESTEST DRAMA EVER!"
Now to be serious. There was a sense of exhilaration that was felt while watching the crimes being solved. The actors and production team created a wondrous feeling of suspense. Even through the ending there is still that feeling. I am screaming for a 2nd season b/c I swear the story can't just end. There has to be more to the story. Well at least other drama peeps and I want more.
I will totally recommend that every1 watch this drama b/c it is so worth it. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Any1 who watches it will enjoy it for sure.

As a critical drama viewer, I scoffed at the title and poster for this drama. It’s very easy to dismiss. The premise sounds ridiculous and the poster matches that assumption perfectly.
But I was very surprised by this drama, which does a fantastic job of creating intricate, thought-provoking murder mysteries that will make you ponder what’s right and what’s wrong. Situations in life are not always black and white--sometimes there’s a lot of gray.
Each episode is woven exceptionally well. So much so that the series becomes interactive, and as a viewer, I found myself attempting to guess the “who, what, when, where, why and how “of the crime.
The acting is also very well done--from the lovable prosecution team lead by the dogmatic, bullheaded and yet very sexy Min Tae Yeon to the suspects, everyone played their part flawlessly. I especially enjoyed the lead characters and their own quirky traits that seemed to balance the prosecution team perfectly.
Is it a perfect work of drama art? Not exactly. But it was very surprising and almost refreshing to watch something that involved vampires, and yet did not deal with oversexed, vulgar and lustful characters. That in and of itself makes me rate it higher!
Kudos, Vampire Prosecutor, for knocking some of the stale haze from an overused mythological genre!

There is a mystery that centers around the main character, Tae Yeon, but each episode also has it's own mystery and resolution. It is kind of like CSI (US tv series) only there is a vampire that can figure things out then they use the science to prove it.
I had never seen Yun Jung Hoon in anything before this drama, so I wasn't sure what to expect from him. He is intense. He has a way of drawing you into the character that I find extremely appealing. To say nothing of the fact that he is totally hot in this drama. Lee Won Jong is also in this drama. He is a really good underrated actor. He must be a workaholic because although he doesn't have a lot of main character rolls. He is in a lot of dramas. He does like 4 dramas a year. Crazy!!! All of the other actors do a really good job too.
The music is fitting for the drama.
I didn't have to rewatch anything from this drama before starting the second season, because I remember it well. It is the kind of drama that sticks with you. I recommend that everyone that likes mystery type dramas give it a try and then move on to the second season. You won't regret it.

Just like CSI, Vampire Prosecutor has 1 case in each episodes, but there's a long term case (which have something to do about Prosecutor Min's past). That's exactly why I like CSI & Vampire Prosecutor. It really holds me to watch this to the very end, and to find out the truth from Prosecutor Min's past.
Story: there's a lot of plot twist in this drama. You really can't guess what will be revealed in the next episodes. The script writer really did a brilliant job, and making the 2nd season is really great decision. I must say, the story line is outstanding. Even though, you must not wishing for romance between Yoo Jung In & Min Tae Yeon. There's just about 5% romance in this whole series, so don't hope too much. It really just about the mystery cases and Min Tae Yeon's past.
Acting: Yun Jung Hoon really did a good job, and because of Vampire Prosecutor, he officially becomes one of my favorite actor. His acting is terrific, and so does Lee Won Jong. Even so, I can't give the perfect score because of Lee Young Ah. Hmmm.. How should I put it? She's good, but I can't really understand her character. Maybe it's just me, but maybe it's just her character is the mysterious and complicated one.
Soundtrack: one of the soundtrack is now on my playlist! Well but other than that, I just like to hear them on the drama to build up the mood.
Rewatch: yes, I would recommend to rewatch. I also would love to rewatch this drama because of the story, and because of Yun Jung Hoon :p
Overall, this drama is GREAT GREAT and GREAT! Especially for you, the CSI fan. Even though, the forensic technology cannot be compared with what they used in CSI, but how Prosecutor Min solved the case, it is the main attraction from this drama.

Well here I am giving it another go and I find myself easily going through each episode until I marathoned that sucker till the end. The episodes did get more and more interesting with each new case. Not only that but as the overall plot surrounding the mystery of our Vampire prosecutor started to develop the drama became really addicting. The last episode played out like a movie with all the action and excitement.
I liked the characters at first but they didn't offer me anything that made me want to stick to watching before I dropped. After I came back to it though I grew to LOVE all the characters. They really meshed well together. The lead who plays the Vampire prosecutor was perfect!
I probably could re-watch this drama ever year cause its so interesting and i loved the cast.
Except for the 3 episodes that were lacking I really really enjoyed watching Vampire Prosecutor and am looking forward to season 2=D

It's quite clear right away that this is not just any amateuristic drama. The way things are being filmed, the sequence of events and the way the seriousness of the actors is displayed is just magnificent.
Whereas in a lot of other Korean dramas, the bad acting is often enhanced by bad camera work, this time good acting and good editing go hand in hand.
Surely, the plot misses out on a few chances where it could've been truly terrific, like how it was fairly obvious who the criminal in the general background story was right from the start, but aside from that, the other cases were pretty interesting.
I tend to see the whole vampire thing as something that isn't that important for the case-solving - as most of the crimes weren't done by supernatural powers - but as a part of what makes the lead character (portrayed by the wonderful Yeon Jeong hoon)more appealing to viewers who are looking for something that sets this drama apart from other detective/police series.
And this drama certainly does add a little something that other dramas don't: that dark shadow that seems to hang over each case and each character (supernatural or not). That which shows that they each have their insecurities, or their pasts that they'd rather keep quiet about.
