Both dramas deal about corruption in the law-enforcement. Both have a detective-lawyer team and both male leads have a similar background story. And both of the male-leads-partners had something to do with the investigation of the cases of the male-leads. Generally it gives a similarish.-vibe.

I think Confession is as good as Stranger. It receives around a Lawyer and a detective where both of the are trying to find out truth about the Lawyers father imprisonment. It’s similar in corruption/detective aspect and the Lawyer character stands his ground just like the prosecutor in Stranger. And no annoying by characters and the story is very well written. I didn’t see any plot holes. Also, each episode kept me on the edge of my seat.

Both are legal dramas are set between a law office and the courtroom with a lawyer trying to resolve a case relating to his relative(s) that happened in the past and still has connections to the present.

Courtroom scenes and lawyer lead. Dark themes and mystery elements about a murderer and accusations. Some very unexpected twists.

Right from the first episode onwards "Confession" gives off a "Signal"-like vibe.
We have 2 very similar male leads, with a nearly exact personality and background, a team that is as similar as can be, characters and even storylines that are very similar to each other.
If you have enjoyed one, there is a high chance you will enjoy the other.

Almost an exact match, even with the rating. In both dramas, the main character has some sort of illness, both MCs also have a father wrongfully accused of murder and put on a death row, and both of them become lawyers to get the truth out and both fight corruption.

Both dramas are a mix of crime/mystery and legal genres involving a serial killer. Determining who is guilty and innocent is difficult at the beginning, with many twists in the plot. Both dramas have a similar tone/feel.

Both have a cop and some victims returning to an old closed case. Also, they both revolve around people confessing to crimes and these confessions being doubted. Also, they both have "Confession" in the title (lols).

I wrote this recommendation after completing episode 12 of Confession where there's a big plot twist which I bet many didn't expect. There was also a major plot twist somewhere in episode 8 or something (I don't quite remember). This quality of screenwriting reminds me highly of The Crowned Clown, where the good and bad guys are continuously cancelling each other's chess moves and keeping the viewers hooked in. I rate The Crowned Clown a perfect 10, so you can imagine the quality of screenwriting in Confession when I compare both of them this way.

Again the male leads are both in Chief Kim and play really good roles as dark characters.
They deal with crime and law and prison and provide really good storylines with plot twists (though Doctor Prisoner definitely had better plot twists)
There are much stronger partnerships in Confession which makes it less of a one-man fight, but there is still corruption and a large power difference between the good and bad guys.
I hope you enjoy!

Both have conspiracies and corruption. Both have an unlikely group of people working together. While Confession concentrates more on the lawyer/prosecutor side, Falsify concentrates on the side of reporters. Both ML have a personal reason for investigating their cases.

Both talk about corruption, lobbyst and about militar equipment. Also both try to reveal a hidden truth.

not the same in tone but both handling double jeopardy and the death penalty in SK. not really much on the ensemble (confession) but an interesting plot.

Going by the plot of the 2 dramas, they are not similar, but when I was watching Flower of Evil, I kept thinking how similar it is to Confession.. Later I found out that they have the same director and no wonder I felt that way.. Both are crime/suspense/thrillers but Flower of Evil has elements that can make you cry and it has romance as well.. Confession on the other hand does not have a romantic plot.. But both are very interesting to watch
