This was definitely an attempt to capture some of the excitement of You're Beautiful. Other than a female acting like a male, the similarities are totally different. The OTP recognize their attraction pretty quickly and the male lead, Park Yoo Hwan and female lead Go Eun Ah did a pretty decent job in acting. My only problem is this was obvious cut back in episodes so the last episode made no sense to me at all. I felt rush and a lot happened that was glossed over. But if you enjoy Kpop, the singers are very good and a lot of recognizable groups play supporting roles.

!!!!!!!!!!This prolly count's as a spoiler, but I would just call it a warning!!!!!!!!!!!

OK very disappointed by the ending. It just like ended w/ way to much story left to tell. I loved it up to the end. The end was so abrupt and it literally sucked. I expected so MUCH more. I juat can't believe that such an awesome story ended like that. It had such potential. The last episode I watched b-4 it was subbed & I only understood like a quarter of it, but I knew that was the end & I just almost didn't go back and watch it the 2nd time subbed.

Now that my major disappointment has been shared I will tell u what I did like. I loved the combination of the You're Beautiful B & Hana Kimi type stories. I loved the leads. There was a rly good thing going on here. Go Eun Ah was amazing at her part. She did an excellent girl/boy reversal. Park Yoo Hwan he was amazing with his questioning of himself. "Y do I like a guy?" "How do I deal w/ this?" Loved it! Such a beautiful smile too. I rly hope that I see him in more drama's. Even though they were stuck w/ such a crappy ending. He did so well w/ his part.

I rly just couldn't stand the character played by Park Hyo Joo. I know there has to be that 1 person every1 hates. They had 2 of them in this drama. Ex-girlfriend & it's usually an evil mother thing, but no we got an overly sensitive, manipulating, "I'm only sry b/c I got caught" type person. I did not fell sry 4 her in the slightest. She deserved more karma.

The CEO, His story ended w/ absolutely nothing. The last u see of him is in his office on the phone. No1 finds out if the M2 Jr's got a spot. Nothing happened w/ the rival competition. OMG that just killed me, right there.

OK, I just don't think I could ever put myself through this ended again. So, I will not be watching this in the future. Watch it if u want to. U will fall in love w/ certain characters, but it just doesn't end well at all. The choice is up to you.

Many reviews comparing this drama to You're Beautiful but I found which I found unfair to this storyline / cast. I thought the leads had their own originality to their romance and I was hugely disappointed in the hatchet job editing ending this dram got from it being cancelled. I've seen more effort go into editing a MV on Youtube then went into the scramble of script they threw together here.
It was unfair to the cast involved and the followers of this drama to cut it off with only 2 remaining episodes to air at that point they should just made and aired the two final episodes I would have liked to see where the original script would have went.

I hope all the actors in this go on to be in more successful dramas.

So I really liked this drama up until like the last 2 episodes. The last two episodes weren't bad but they weren't up to level with the first 12. It's more of a teenage drama which probably explains why I liked it so much. The target audience is more of a teenage audience, so older audiences may want to steer clear. Also if you don't like bad endings (not sad... bad) stay away.

Story: The story was a mix of You're Beautiful, Hana Kimi, and Dream High mixed into one unique plot. It was fluffy and cute and it made me desperately wait every week to see the next 2 episodes. I loved the main couple, who were cute and hilarious. They had good chemistry and rapport. I really like the supporting cast as well, they were all really well developed. I wished that the writers had given us some more story on the M2 boys but the amount they gave us wasn't bad. The bad characters in this story were good in the way that you wanted to rip their hair out every time you saw them. The only part I didn't like was how the CEO still liked Team Leader Han after everything she did. I don't like how the writers try and create sympathy for her in the last two episodes after making us hate her for like 12 episodes.

Acting: SUPERB!!!!! I totally fell for the main couple. They had this way of acting where you totally believed that they were in love. The BTS showed them having good chemistry as well. I especially loved the M2 Junior boys. I cannot stress enough how much I loved the actor who played Ji Woo. Even though he looked like the kind of guy who would play a pretty boy who's stuck up, he played the sweet innocent, weak guy really really well. Love Love Love the acting.

Music: I got the M2 Junior song on my iPod, its so good. I like dramas based around music a lot because the music is original and incorporated in a drama. It makes me pay attention to the music rather than tuning it out for the story like in most dramas.

Overall: I gave it an 8, it would have been higher if it wasn't for the crappy ending. It was a cute ending, but everything was left untied and I like my dramas to end in a nice neat bow rather than in the mess this drama ended in.

Oh how i wish this drama was 16 episodes instead of 14. i'm betting the ending would've been SO much better and not as rushed, my score definitely would be different.

But other than that, i actually enjoyed this drama! It reminded me a lot of You're Beautiful but after a while it didn't. I loved the cast. The main characters seemed to have ok chemistry and they were cute together but some things could've been better if anyone catches my drift :P

i liked the music they used/made. it was catchy and fun to listen to.
if the ending wasn't s bad i'd probably watch it again

Many would say that the story ressembles "You're beautiful", i felt that way too at the beginning but as the episodes went on i see how unique this drama is, i mean the story of a girl dressing as a boy is known before yet this time it's felt special somehow since she has a strong personality that's different from Go Mi Nam Go.
After completing the drama i would say; this drama could have been much better but they cut it short and ended it in a way that pissed me off somehow, i wanted more and i was expecting a better storyline in the last 2 ep, they left it open in a way that didn't satisfy me but i didn't hate it, i just was disappointed but no regrets, i had fun watching this drama.

It's really over?

At first this drama kind of reminded me of you're beautiful because in the first few episodes and the two main characters are the typical arrogant bad boy/idol and a cross dresser.
But then the story wasn't anything like that, there's not really a triangle love and the story mainly focuses on the TWO main characters and the group M2Junior, teamwork and dreams. This drama may have rookie actors in the supporting roles but since they were idols in the drama, and their singing/rapping skills are great, it didn't matter.

BUT yeah I now there are already lots of comments about the ending, but I got to say that again. The nding wasn't that bad... but it's unaccepable as a ending in my opinion since it's just way to open, you don't really get to know what eventually happens to the characters.

This drama was an interesting, funny drama with a good soundtrack and a cool guest appearence.

This is the first time i ever write a review without seeing the whole drama and hopefully the last. But by episode 12 i can say that there is nothing that can salvage this. The remaining 4 episodes have no chance of changing my opinion towards it.

**I have seen the other reviews people giving this a high score(10? really?) are not being objective what so ever. Even if all you want is eyecandy there are a lot better dramas out there.**

The drama starts out well i have to admit the first two episodes are quite well done(except for the weakish acting) but after that everything gets out of control.

The drama becomes very underwhelming. The person who wrote the script didnt really know what he was doing. The whole concept lacks direction and its all over the place. The story development is horribly paced and full of repeated scenes. On top of all this the VERY mediocre acting doesnt help either.
Not to mention the fact that for them to mistake the main character as a male they probably would have to be braindead.(I know this is a drama and dont have to be realistic but its impossible to overlook how obvious it is when you can see her chest stand out in multiple scenes and they still dont realize, its very badly executed)(Just check out Coffee Prince that should be the standard.)

The cast for the "junior" group is beyond awful. Their acting and even the characters itself are boring , and they dont stand apart at all. Plus they hardly have personalities themselves and all of them act like a 14 y o in the drama.

Where "You are beautful" and "Coffee Prince" are superb dramas and tell their stories like a pleasant warm summer breeze. This drama is like a car you lost control of on a winter road sliding towards the edge of a cliff.

If you want to make a fool out of yourself i suggest you watch this crap. Why? well here it goes...

STORY - the story is more like of a combination of You're Beautiful with a touch of Dream High. It is not that interesting that makes you look forward into watching the next episode. To put it simply the story is shallow, what added to its shallowness is that they were a lot of missing loops on the story which i think was brought about by cutting of 2 of its episodes that's why they all rushed it over.

ACTING/CAST - the acting is pretty much ok, especially the main girl. Among all of those dramas where the 'girl pretend to be guy' thing, she nailed it! her performance as a 'guy' was convincing. But nonetheless, the acting of the cast was just dragged down by the poor story.

MUSIC - there's nothing to talk about the music, sadly, since the story is musically related, they should have taken advantage of it. I felt that most of the singing parts were dubbed since the actors playing the roles were not singers.

REWATCH VALUE - don't bother!

OVERALL - its such a waste! Pathetic! i hope Channel A - the broadcaster of the show will improve on their upcoming shows.

'Such a Disappointment' - sorry but its my opinion.

Be aware Kpop the Ultimate Audition does have a very incomplete ending but it was still a surprisingly good watch…

Story- Obviously very similar to Your Beautiful however, the writers did a good job of taking the idea and making it their own. I liked the romance because it was well developed. I looked forward to new eps every week. The biggest disappointment was the ending. They had so many loose ends its not even funny. I would have really liked to see who made the M2 Junior group. Also I wanted to see how the fans reacted to the reveal of Seung Yeon and what would become of her career. Really there was so much more story to tell. You can’t blame the writers though because Channel A cut it short. The writers did what they could and I appreciate that.

Acting/Cast- Really loved the actress that played Seung Yeon because she was just perfect in her role as a very believable tom boy. I never did come to love the male lead and actually preferred the actor that played Ji Woo (I want to see more of him!) but the lead actors did have chemistry which made the romance believable. I liked the supporting cast but some of their acting skills were just okay.

Music- Very catchy and memorable enough to put on my ipod.

Rewatch- I would like to watch this again because it was funny and I liked the music. But due to the lousy ending it probably wouldn’t be for a little while.

Overall if you loved You’re Beautiful you probably won’t fall in love with Kpop the Ultimate Audition but you might come to like it . It’s definitely worth a watch.

I'd like to preface this review by stating that if you haven't watched You're Beautiful yet, definitely try and watch this show first. The parallels between the two shows are ridiculous. I mean this show basically stole scenes straight from YB. The differences are not enough for KPOP to stand on its own and I think that is one of the main reasons it was cut from 16 to 14 episodes.

Objectively, this show is not good. I guess that's why I have to remind myself how awful my taste is at times, because even with all of the problems this show had (and there are plenty!!), I still liked it quite a bit.

Woo Hyun is absolutely adorable. Even from the beginning when he was in jerk mode i loved him. Watching him grapple with his feelings for what he believes is a man is actually interesting, where it very easily could have been uncomfortable. If it weren't for Woo Hyun's character, this would easily have been unwatchable. It is unfortunate, however, that both he and Seung Yeon fell victim the Korean brick wall of kissing. Not once did they have a kiss that would make you feel anything.

None of the other characters ever get a chance to shine. I think this is why I avoid shows with such large casts. There is not enough time to try and let the viewer connect with each character, and this show particularly failed at that. This show also fails at providing a villain to hate. The villains it offered were never given clear motives, so it was hard to understand why they acted the way they did. Why did Team
leader Han feel the need to throw herself behind Woo Hyun so fervently? Why did In Young's character make absolutely no sense to the story line? There were a lot of mistakes made throughout the series; gaping plot holes, dropped strory lines, etc. Even the "love triangle" utterly failed to tug at the heart strings.

All of that being said, the show is not wholly irredeemable. The relationship between Seung Yeon and Woo Hyun was adorable, and a lot of fun to watch in the later half of the season. I'm telling you, Woo Hyun's smile will absolutely melt your heart! If you are looking for something to waste time on, that won't make you cry or really feel too much of anything, then this is for you! Just be prepared, the ending is left open to a lot of interpretation, so if you like a pretty bow on top of all of your answered questions, then I would not suggest you watch this drama.

As this drama was cut short from 16 to 14 episodes due to low ratings, one could tell that the ending for this drama was rushed. Having said that, the way this drama was wrapped up would undeniably leave the audience with many uncertain questions along with a huge dilemma of the character progression. On the bright side, the characters in this drama are rather cute in their own ways. As for the story line, it was considerably good despite the confusing ending. This drama in some way can be consider similar to "You're Beautiful" and "Coffee Prince".
