okay so,This started out pretty great and all but, it went downhill so fast.
At first i could kinda feel the chemistry between sarawattine but as the show continued their relationship got worse.
The storyline is kind of childish. It felt like middleschool and being 13 years old. I don't demand physical intimacy but sarawat was not even allowed to touch tine :S. The only likeable character for me is sarawat. He gives a lot mental affection and gives all of his trust and actually wants to talk about things but tine is just kinda delusional and blows every situation up so much and thats like, really cringy. Some other characters were actually nice as well like p'dim and green (altho bit extra imo) sarawats friendgroup is iconic as well. This show could've been so much more, cuz the spark was there for me at some point... Just it became such a let down.

For starters, it has all the problems that other Thai dramas I've watched have; the acting is lacking, the story has plot points that are totally exaggerated, there's background music every.single.second up to when sometime there was a character singing and yet there was a song unrelated to it playing in the background. All these are tolerable enough though.
What I don't find tolerable is ruining a perfectly good couple right when they become one. The chemistry was there since their first encounters, especially from Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn's (Tine) side. It's not that Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree (Sawarat) wasn't working for me, but I felt that maybe Sawarat was simply not a character for him to play (for example, most of the time that he was supposed to look grumpy, he looked like he was trying not to laugh). They went through the whole cycle; fake dating, getting closer, the usual misunderstandings and then confessing. All good up to here. And then they got together...
For some reason, instead of showing us Tine and Sawarat going into this relationship and gradually learning how to make it work, they made up some dumb girl/boy drama and filled the remaining time with side couples that in my opinion sparked no interest at all. Even the few moments we got with them being a couple were really awkward; it was like the chemistry from the first episodes wasn't even there to begin with.
Also, as a side note, I wish I could erase every scene of Green because I hate it when they take a "stereotypical gay" character, make them a creep and ta-da, there's our entire show premise. *major eye roll*
The series was a solid 7/10 but it got ruined pretty quickly, hence the 4/10. I will be watching the sequel though with hopes that they fixed what they couldn't do right in this season.

Okay, so this was a disaster.Now, i am not trying to discourage you from watching this or anything. This is totally my opinion. If you want fluff and some angst, with a bit of comedy, this is for you. But it's just that.
The story was actually interesting at first, but the second half was where it started going downhill. There was no character development at all, the story got repetitive, and the episodes were unbearably draggy. The reason for their fight was honestly so lame to me. Even the side character didn't have a solid plot. The actors looked so done with this show, it was hard to keep a straight face during the serious scenes.
Oh and did i mention, THIS COULD HAVE PASSED CHINA'S CENSORSHIP WITH FLYING COLORS!
I mean the leads had great chemistry in the first half, but the maximum skinship in the second was a high five and a hug. it was like instead of fake dating and then actual dating, the characters decided to go the other way round.
I really dont know why i finished this.
Would 100% tell people to avoid and look for better options.

Right after the "Will you be my boyfriend" scene, the characters took a 360 degree turn. They felt more like best friends rather than boyfriends. Sarawat suddenly turning into some ignorant freak towards Tine, all the unwanted jealously and many countless things. Tine on the other hand became someone I couldn't recognize. I have no problem with only few kissing scenes or Sarawat patting Tine's head or even the high-fy, I was upset because the characters just abruptly changed their personalities.
ManType were so cute, I literally was blushing when they came onscreen. MilPhukong just felt forced. I really love Drake and Frank's chemistry but I feel they are underrated and their talent is not utilized. Green was so cute, I wish they would have shown DimGreen more.
Coming to the acting, Win being a newcomer did a pretty descent job. His acting was monotonous in some scenes but in other he just slayed it. I know he will improve. Bright was just passive. He had those weird smirks and eye twitching which was not something I expect from someone who has been in the industry for long. I hope he improves and proves me wrong. Supporting casts did an amazing job. I have no complaints with anyone.
Music was pleasant and soothing. All in all in would say its not completely a bad series, only lost its direction towards end but if you want to watch it definitely try it once.

Music + Romance + Comedy + 20% intimacy
Since I am a huge fan of music, I loved the Idea of this series.I think the Writer and Director did a pretty good job to show how music can make people in love and how music is sometimes the key to approach someone.
There are not a lot of BL series which focus on a subject rather than the relationship between the main couple but this series amazingly immersed music in the story and made a great use out of it.
The progress Tine was making in playing guitar kinda show the progress he is making in liking Sarawat.
The scenes between Tine and Sarawat wasn't cringy at all and I think that's why I liked this series a lot despite some points.
The relationship between them, for a shorter series, developed at a very good pace.
The only thing that kind of was a tad upsetting was the lack of intimate relationship between Tine and Sarawat.
You know, for a thai production where censorship isn't a problem, I kinda expected the crew to remain a tad more faithful to the novel and express the intimacy between the main roles a bit better.
ACTING
Let me tell you, The chemistry was real. despite being rookies, their acting was realistic and they pulled out the tension pretty well.
overall, despite a few weakness, this series was quite worth the watch and I hope I haven't mislead anyone :D

Sarawat, for the good majority of the show, was for me one of my favorite BL characters out there. The “I don’t care, could not be bothered by others” attitude he had in the beginning episodes was so amazing and refreshing and when you pair it with how much of a cute, shy and romantically awkward, but clingy potato he is, I can die happy. Straightforward, but not in a rude way, we stan. But then something happened in episode 12 - that thing is called lazy writing. There is nothing worse than giving your character 180 just to create artificial drama and unnecessary conflict.
Tine was just a clueless bunny. Seeing how this was Win’s first role, I must say he has done an extremely good job portraying all the emotions his character was feeling. The new actors often either underact or overact, but I see some nice balance from him.
Since Tine was quite not aware of anything that was truly happening around him, it created many funny scenes that were natural and did not feel like a cheap comedy. Truth to be told, Tine was probably the best written character in the whole show.
The whole supporting cast did an amazing job, creating a nice atmosphere and many memorable comedic moments. The interactions between Tine and Sarawat’s friend felt organic and were enjoyable to watch.
What surprised me the most was the fact that I actually cared for the side couple and did not feel like skipping their scenes at all. Man and Type had nice dynamics and I truly loved Sarawat’s brother Phukong - cheeky little thing.
The plot is simple yet told in such an endearing way I just smiled watching each and every episode. Few small twists here and there kept the story more interesting and exciting. If we exclude the mess episodes 12 and 13 were, it's quite a nice, slower paced sweet romance. The chemistry between Tine and Wat was better in the first, than second half though. I put the blame here on writing and directing. Why? What happened?
I was just confused what Tine and Wat’s relationship exactly is and what they are comfortable with. I have no problem with shows being more on a romantic “PG13” side with one kiss happening as a finale, sealing the deal. I never expected TT or WRU type of content in this. But then why did things keep being hinted at and then scenes cut without proper closure? Why was Tine shy about the smallest romantic skinship, but at the same time be fine with more explicit things (that were hinted at, but never shown)? They felt like best bros, a couple that just started dating and a couple that has lived together for a few years at the same time… When a couple high fives instead of giving each other a kiss. I was lost at some point.
I have to talk about the production quality, because it was truly amazing… to a certain point. The set designs were perfect and the rooms of the character well represented who they are. Technical aspects like lighting or camera work were also good. Too bad I can’t say the same thing about editing. There were some pacing problems here and there that made me and some other viewers confused about the time progression. Some romantic scenes were cut in such weird places, it felt like they were trying to censor stuff. While I know it was not the case, it gave me that impression.
Any random complaints? First kiss from Sarawat and Win. Damn I felt like Bright didn’t quite want to commit.

Overall, it’s a cute fluff story that failed when trying to do something else in the last few episodes. It started as 10/10 for me, but as the quality of writing and editing dropped, so did my rating.

I will recommend it to those who want a inspirational things
The story follows a college freshman named Tine (Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn) who finds himself being followed by a relentless gay suitor. In a ploy to shake him off without directly having to break his heart, Tine's group of friends suggest that he fake-date Sarawat (Bright Vachirawit Chiva-aree), their university's enigmatic and reserved, resident heartthrob. Though both apprehensive about the plan at first, Tine and Wat's reluctant fake relationship eventually turns into something more.
Even in the year 2020, romantic comedy storylines involving queer leads are a rarity, which is what makes 2gether a breath of fresh air. Amid the admittedly limited number of available LGBT media, a staggering amount of films and TV shows seem to only know how to depict the struggles of the community, most of which end in separation, and often even death.
2gether, on the other hand, adapts none of that. It’s a lighthearted, feel-good romantic comedy laced with mounds of kilig scenes enough to have you cheezing before your laptop screen like an idiot for hours. The best part? It takes a tired heteronormative narrative and serves it to the Asian queer community on a silver platter. Fake dating? Check! Enemies to lovers? Absolutely! Incredibly cheesy one-liners? They definitely hit different when you can finally relate to the images onscreen.
Sure it’s not perfect. There’s a lot of cringe-worthy scenes, problematic lines, and the acting may be questionable at times, but at the end of the day it’s a series that positively depicts the nuances of a very real love story between two people of the same gender. And for queer consumers in dire need of a frothy pick-me-up that they can identify with, 2gether definitely delivers.
Let’s call it what it is. 2gether is a fantasy. A gay-utopia if you would, where no one’s ever vilified for loving who they love. No matter how progressive the world has gotten, it's still not usual for a group of seemingly straight college boys to casually throw around the idea of fake-dating someone of the same gender, just to get out of a predicament. Nor would a completely heterosexual person agree to it without batting an eye or worrying about what others might say or think of them.
That said, no matter how unrealistic, what it presents then is a possibility. It proves that, although we’re nowhere near it, an open and accepting society such as 2gether’s version of Thailand, can and should definitely exist.

Saratine just doesn’t progress! Tine is also such a pain. So distant and some times a bit slow with understanding. He also never trusts sarawat one bit even tho wat never gives him reason to not trust him. The side couples have more intamacy then the main couple. The show really feels like we are 12 and only allowed to hold hands. Whenever sarawat implies intamacy tine just gets pissed, even after a year together. Wish the relationship progressed more, the whole chemistry just never lifted of the ground for me. Sad.

How to smash good potential against the wall
- At the beginning of the show everything was on point; the chemistry was awesome, the story line was funny and without unnecessary drama. It was something new that I hadn't seen before without any cliché or rushed processes. - But at the time they began to realize their behavior is not faked and they started their so called relationship the show kinda smashed the potential against the wall. - They did not only had no real character development nor "couple behavior", I mean i don't necessarily need kisses or stuff like that (I think a show like Soutus is the best example to show that it's possible) but WHY did it felt like they made a step backe? They initial chemistry while they pretended to be a couple was amazing but after that it seemed they became brothers or something like that. -Of course they had their sweet moments but it could have been 1000 times better if they had continued where they stopped while "faking". -To conclude I would say the show is not bad, especially the first episodes are really good and funny, but its sad to see how such a good potential was not used and bc of that I'm somehow disappointed.Was this review helpful to you?
